[Music] I show up the Irish okay what's going on guys and welcome to a brand new episode of energize the Face-Off Ross introduced the guest man today we have the your banthamway title fight between two of the best bantamweight in the country Elvis Lugo and Ronald Degan Lads how are we doing how are you thanks guys welcome to the show nobody no bother Lads we're very excited about this one we think this one is an absolute Barn swarmer Elvis how excited are you to face the challenge in Roman Deegan yeah I'm actually very excited boys it's uh usually a week out before the fight I'm feeling a little bit nervous well I'm feeling very good for this one ready to go and then Ronan obviously uh you're you're avoiding Elvis he he is the champ around there also he seems to get everyone out of there he's like Gone in 60 Seconds how prepared are you for this challenge I'm good yeah like I mean if that is a good challenge uh it seems uh predominant from the start but uh I feel like I have a lot more experience than some of his past opponents and uh I think I'll deal with it a bit better but yeah no definitely a good challenge I mean is that something you're preparing for around the the fast starts in the gym I am I feel like Lads are fast starters like I mean I'm you know I'm pretty fast at myself you know what I mean I'd be I feel like the first round will be very very high paced so yeah I'm always preparing for that I'm generally the one doing the pushing of The Fast and so it'll be interesting to see someone trying to put her back on me but I'll be Satisfied on your five November 27th for the Panther Way title Luca versus Deegan we're like this is the one we had to get on the show uh if you are looking to buy tickets or watch the Pay-Per-View make sure to get into you were talking about going pro at some stage I know there was talks of it happening is this the last fighter amateur career yeah I actually think it is boys unless I'm thinking something might happen if I come out clean in this for December 4th on cage Legacy Maybe if he doesn't it will be the last one that's the way it's looking anyway noise noise and uh any particular promotion you'd like to swim with when you turn proud as soon as I as soon as this one I'll get on to the bigger promotions I'll see I'll see who wants it and who doesn't figure out figure out who pays the best because this amateur game is just not good enough in and out I'm still not getting paid still broke as a joke you know what I'm saying it's a tough game it is a tough game oh yeah one last amateur one and then hopefully start getting paid I don't know I was looking at all different shows Bellator was looking for I don't know maybe cage Warriors or something if I have a few more profoids maybe on the oau show maybe cage Legacy maybe a few smaller shows unprofessional and then maybe can go under the bigger ones you look more than ready you know what I mean yeah so I'm excited to see what pro has from sort of here uh Rowan how do you feel about your career do you feel like Pro could be something in the near future or is that something you haven't disclosed with Karen Darren yet uh no I'm actually exposing a bit the opposite from Elvis like oh yeah I see myself being pro or amateur for another at least a year and a half or more I want to when I like GoPro I wanna have at least probably uh on the lower side of it it'll be 25 amateur fights on the higher side it'll be like 30 35 well like especially with the imfs I think like uh considering I could get like about four fights a week at least or or over the course of a week I could see myself maybe I won't even higher than 30 but I don't want to boxing seven but I'd say definitely more than 25. and Robin tell us about uh the oil mask because obviously you went over uh to the Europeans there recently well you fought up as high as as lightweight what what is it what experience did you get in there and do you feel like that's Nancy a fight the bigger boys oh yeah 100 it was like it was Unreal it was like one of my kind of vocalist things and like I can't wait to get to go again but like representing Ireland was like only big things I mean it was class it was just class to like fighter try color abroad and uh pretty much like fighting that competition you know you're fighting like pretty much some of the best Lads from each country so like when you're getting wins out there it's not like there's no easy fights you know what I mean and it's not like um you're like there's certain ladder on Ireland like you know like you know yourselves enough like every pattern the records of amateur I'm like I don't really see the point of that especially if the amateur isn't going to hold you when you go pro but like just fighting them Lads and just seeing how they can hang with the best and like get wins and then also like even fighting George stains like he's he's very very good and like going full three rounds with him and having some moments I wasn't 100 how happy I did but like still I had some success with them and just kind of like I am talking about hours inside the cage that's all it is I mean like it gives me serious confidence when I go to step out to perform each time oh I actually thought it was a typo when I saw you were avoiding the long way over and uh yeah oh there so I was like I was very very nice I was finally I was telling me that's like of the weeks after that try and like get up higher weight like but like each each morning I went in I wear them like and this is me like eating [ __ ] fast and everything because overnight like the food was Unreal and uh the max I was waiting that was like 67.5 or whatever but like couldn't get him over it's like 70. yeah and just just to put on it like just just to show how high level this fight is like in the topology amateur rankings uh I think Roland your ranked two or three abandoned my uh um or sorry a featherweight so overweight glass and then Elvis you're ranked I think two uh abandoned weight so like these these are the Elite of the elite in the UK and Ireland so exactly you go show uh how highly anticipated this fight is gonna be definitely also like I suppose it's a good shout out to um ior as well because they seem to just make the matchups that make sense I feel like some shows around Ireland like are I like and more summer there's one or two that kind of like make weird matchups and you're like right this just seems like a feeder fighter or something whereas like I feel like I or seen Elvis having the win in the world against ocean and seen me against Jordan I think last time I fought on the show and they're just like right well this is the one that makes sense it's not about I kind of just it seems like a fighter show you know what I mean it's not like about trying to make money off or whatever and obviously I hope that that came out a lot of rooms I hope he does make money off it but it seems like the shows he's putting on don't mess it up today no no no no no you're right he might give out all you are because it's your your voice you're sorry sorry sorry sorry I got that wrong like it's definitely definitely like better like matchmaking I think than a lot of other shows no no definitely uh I suppose it's a fighter Show run boy Fighters so like that's that's definitely where it comes in uh let's let's talk a bit about the fight itself Elvis where do you see yourself holding the advantages of our own and what you make of Ron as an opponent um I'd say strike and this is weaker point I don't know why I don't really watch this fight we've been at the Euro showers but I don't really look over at his foot so I don't know what he's like everyone's telling me he's a Grappler which I can understand why would you not you know what I'm saying use the ground game but in most of my voice I'm the one that's taking coins down and and keeping them down but um if the ground gains if the ground game is good it's gonna walk from the bottom then or if you have me on top smashing it it's just gonna be hard to get them positions in you know what I'm saying yeah absolutely and Ron what do you make of Elvis's fighter obviously you know he's had six fights but like the tape doesn't run too long on him yeah yeah and no I uh to be honest I'm kind of the same I wouldn't really like I'm not really one of those allowed to go and like watches my opponent's tape like over and over like Karen not too far my coach here and he'd like do a lot of research on my opponents so I have to give him credit there but uh you're in Loveland um he's his strong points probably is striking but then he is right like I think he finished ocean like from on top so uh I don't know I think it's just a high-paced striker but then he's also uses grappling as well so we've got just a good mixed martial arts game I suppose and how do I see I'm gonna run out I'd say it is right I'm probably gonna win it in the grappling but I think it surprised a lot of people with the Striking I I think if he if I get if I get him down I feel like there's just gonna be a bit like you know I have a higher a lot of confidence on my grappling like I was last time when I was in that when I was in the imaps like you were saying like I was out wrestling and out grappling in some like way bigger lights or like you said it's after giving me a confidence about fighting anybody up my own way a relatively my own size I have a huge amount of confidence now and Trust in my skills yeah um question remotely is uh I'll let you answer first I was Elvis do you think a win here cements you as the best bantamweight in the country yeah yeah I think so it's kind of a little thing between bantamweights like the ranks like there is obviously about four hours but the ranks just put it on the books you know what I'm saying just prove that you're the best if it's if it's on the box well then you must be it you know what I'm saying whatever you're doing is working no absolutely like like it's it's definitely the highest level matchup on the books at the moment anyway uh how do you view it around do you do you view the person who gets her handwrites here brings up belt home was the best bounce point in the country uh sorry just couldn't help me to another episode do you feel like a win here and bring home the belt to make you the best bantamweight in the country uh yeah I um I think this is probably going to be one of the sides that like um I can't really disregard it I've not lost on a record to Keith Joe and he's like in doing an unbelievable job at a amateur as well so I can't really disregard him but I believe it's definitely the decider of like the top three to four bantamweights in the country whoever wins this will be probably either normal either number one or number two but like like as I was saying the look the rankings are kind of subjective you know what I mean they kind of change week by week so it's hard to judge who really is the number one um you know yeah I do believe this is really one of the top uh matchups and like these are probably two of the top like uh prospects from the band by division fighting each other so it will be a huge decider of okay Elvis um tell us this Elvis you know obviously your fights have been very very short and you want to go pro you say this is your last amateur fight do you think you need to get more cage time before you actually go pro would you like this fight to maybe hit the second round uh yeah I definitely do think I can get more rounds and I can show off my strike and more my grappling my wrestling just longer time all all about a fighter just to show it off but the short ones are just showing how fast I can go in and get it done and just exactly what it can do so I don't know how it works both ways but if it's just what way you want to look at him perfect right well we're going to go to the Challenger first for a prediction Ronan how does this void end and how do you get your hand raised and bring a belt back to SPG ton of War you have to go with me first to start it up now listen no way I'd say let's call it probably if I was if it was a better man I'd say I win it by either uh if not decision I think it'll be uh second round or a third round stoppage and most likely submission um what about yourself around or the second one yeah I'm gonna push on the the pressure heavy and the forest one if you saw what is the first one well then let it be going to the second one no problem um I think I'm gonna smash them up and then I'm gonna get the submission because that's the way it always goes they don't want to I'm very excited to see it as well like I'm excited to see uh how you've evolved you had a great shown in the Europeans and yeah a fantastic matchup and we're definitely looking forward to see it uh thanks again appreciate it yeah well it does a very goal guys make sure everyone tuned in
