Welcome to MMA-db.com (“we,” “our,” or “us”). We provide a martial arts athletic database, ranking platform, and event archiving service. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, process, protect, and manage personal data in compliance with the Singapore Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) and the Thailand Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) B.E. 2562.

1. Data we collect and process

We process personal data across two categories of individuals:

A. Public athletic profiles (fighters, coaches, promotions)

To maintain an accurate historical sports archive, we compile public athletic data, which may include:

  • Full names, ring names, nationalities, and locations.
  • Age, date of birth, weight, weight class, and biological sex.
  • Martial arts records, bout outcomes, event histories, and affiliation with gyms or promotions.
  • Publicly available promotional imagery, fighter photographs, or platform-native social media embeds.

B. Registered users (account holders and profile claimants)

When you register an account, claim a profile, or interact with our platform, we collect:

  • Account credentials (name, email address, password, stored hashed).
  • Google sign-in data, if you use Google: your Google account ID, email, name, and profile picture.
  • Profile ownership verification data (identity verification documentation for fighters/promotions).
  • Optional marketing consent when you register, used only if you opt in.
  • Technical data (IP addresses, browser types, cookies, and usage analytics).

2. Legal basis for processing

We process your data under the following strict legal frameworks:

  • Legitimate interests: Processing historical athletic data, fight outcomes, and sports statistics serves a legitimate public, journalistic, and archival interest within the international combat sports community.
  • Contractual necessity: Processing account registration details is required to provide you access to profile management tools and platform features.
  • Consent: Where applicable, we rely on your explicit consent for cookie usage and direct user profile submissions.

3. Cross-border data transfers

MMA-db.com is operated internationally and hosted on secure servers located in Singapore. By using the platform, data subjects in Thailand acknowledge that their public athletic data and account credentials will be securely transferred to and processed in Singapore. We maintain data protection standards equivalent to those required under Thai law.

4. Your rights under Thailand’s PDPA and Singapore’s PDPA

Regardless of your location, MMA-db.com respects your statutory data rights. If you are an athlete or a user listed on our platform, you hold the following rights:

  • Right to access and rectification: You may request access to your personal data or request corrections to inaccurate fight records or profile metrics.
  • Right to erasure (right to be forgotten): Amateur athletes, grassroots fighters, or users may request the deletion or complete anonymization of their personal profiles.
  • Right to object / restrict processing: You may object to our continued processing of your profile data for archival or ranking purposes.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact our designated Data Protection Officer at andrew@mcnerlin.com. We will verify identity and fulfill valid statutory requests within 30 days.

5. Cookies and analytics

We use cookies to remember your country and language choices and to keep you signed in. We use Google Analytics to collect aggregated usage statistics. You can limit cookies in your browser settings.

6. Third parties

We use Google for sign-in and analytics. Google’s use of data is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy. We do not sell your personal data.

7. Retention

We keep account data while your account is active. You may ask us to delete your account by contacting us. Server logs are kept for a limited period for security. Public athletic archive data is retained for as long as it remains part of the historical sports record, subject to the rights in section 4.
