okay what's going on guys welcome to a brand new episode of energized ross it's floyd ireland boy island is still here it's yazoo island it's iana island it's darren's hill and robert whittaker island birthday do you think that that's going to happen on floyd island because they're both international fighters and that's sort of where all the international flights are taking place at the moment but where was him where's the original meant to be scheduled for vegas it doesn't i don't think it has a like a set destination see that's the thing a while ago when foil photo is announced myself and yourself we're talking about it and we're like we were like right there's a possibility of it of fight on and happening way longer than scheduled uh like this weekend obviously darren hill's taking on robert whittaker and that was meant to be the closing of photon but it's not looking like it's it's leaving the island anytime soon and i'm sure dana white's enjoying getting that lovely pink suntan and you can't beat that han rosco no you can't he's even looking a point ahead oh like he's he's looking at the long haul you know i mean you don't buy a house on jazz oil unless you plant doing a lot of business there yeah yeah they're very true tomato not only for the oil being brilliant fights they've been fast and furious there's been two cards since the last one we were on here talking fights and we get into the first one um calvin cutter obviously won a unanimous decision against dan ige bachmann on a tear at the moment doesn't he ross ever since coming through is it dinner boys contender series oh jonas i actually don't know where he came from all i know is he's a boston guy sort of like dana white loves him he's like boston zone calvin hater like you could only really call him a scrapper uh yeah yeah he's going and kicking us and uh he's looking good doing a ross he really really is like you i mean he's he already got some good wins on his uh record like he's beat lamas he's beat stevens he's beat uh iggy i mean there's not a lot of people for him to sort of like go up against next if you know what i mean uh he also went to fight to beat in russia which uh not many people would do that and he lost at 29-28 but he was actually won the third round so who knows if that was a five-rounder uh where it would have went and it should have been a five-rounder because it was the main event but uh he took that on short notice also when he was originally supposed to be it was supposed to be in boston so like he was actually like scrambled i'll just go to russia and fight him if that isn't baldy i don't know what is you don't mean no yeah i didn't know that was actually that was i didn't know that that he was meant to originally fight in his own backyard and then yeah he took it to sabi's backyard i was honestly that's all you work so far for calvin cater it's a bit like oh he was going to fight next i'm pretty sure it's beats toyed up fighting yay rodriguez um i think there's real beef between the korean zombie and brian ortega there seems to be like travel issues between those two fighting i don't think korean zombie can actually get out of south korea at the moment so why not have brian ortega versus complimentator or alternatively you could go for the big one and have max bless holloway versus calvin hayder jesus man and he's so good at stand up like he keeps the [ __ ] him basically for the whole fight he kicks her kicks it like he combines kicks and punches so well yeah i think if he used to fight bruno tega and if you kept on defeating beat him like when it's full of decisions on the main card you're just like um not great not great but then obviously there was like some standouts like uh manure laziz the tunisian guy uh he was very impressive just because like al hassan was like a human wrecking ball uh so i was impressed he like he actually beat him on the stand up and then uh i was fighting tonight yeah you're made cosmos the uh swedish khabib uh he was brilliant against john phillips and then uh unfortunately the uk challenge chris fishgold and molly mccann both last decisions yeah talia sanchez would be money mccann look very good as well foreign are both stolen by mtk mma there's actually which is which i wonder whether you see that crowd they're two brilliant talents i remember i missed you after those voices went on so late by the way they went on later than uh the saturday night voids because of wednesday i was like geez i'm still awake here but uh like the aziz was brilliant and also cosmo which is the the random thing although they're all decisions it's hard to stay awake because no yeah it's true it's strange when you're watching the card you don't really know much of the voters which is will be the majority of the families of ufc they'd be like i don't know who this is i don't know what that is i didn't know the majority of the florida's but when you're watching it and you can see that the gold foil is going on you're like whoa i remember ian gary goes there you're not a star until you're a star yeah so you're not starting to start until you have that big win yeah like i think you can always like pinpoint when someone became a star you know what i mean yeah like if if you look at uh arasanya like when he did like that walk out against robert whitaker and he was dancing all beforehand people was like [ __ ] hell never seen that before i'm gonna keep an eye on him you know conor mcgregor as soon as he went 60 g's baby like people were like i have to watch out for that fella uh sean o'malley as soon as on the contender series you're like what is that you mean like these guys all have like these like moments where you're like yes that gives give us another you mentioned moment you mentioned three give us two more i think when khabib smashed michael johnson i was talking to dana white during the fight like that was like another like disco scary young man and then i can pick everyone uh and then channels on him when he got on the mic and called anderson silva i was like he was like that guy all right i was going to add master darling against ben asking there that was that fly away total fight devs and figure out though to jokes defeated joseph's benavidez and is now the new champ what did you make of this man man figueroa like decisively beat benavidez twice now i know he missed weight in the first flight and like that's actually shocking and he can't be rocking around and missing away but he like beat him on the feet he knocked him down smashed him and then absolutely choked him out unconscious he looks like me he looks like a star man yeah to me like that's that's who i want to see the only thing with uh figueroa is it's the bantamweight division or sorry the floyd weight division i mean like all the stars are bantamweight there's no real stars of fly away i mean he beat the biggest star at floyd which was joey betta vidas so and really no one knocks out people in floyd now really see he should probably fight brandon moreno next i think he's the number one contender uh but there is talk to cody garbrandt moving down to floyd weight he's talked about it loads of times and i think if you are trying to make figaro star or you want to remake cody garber and start like that's a big fight to make the only problem with that is if garber moves down and wins you know he's going to ask for about the weight total shots right away and all you think the problem with floyd weights is as soon as these guys get a bit of star power they want to move up to bantamweight and try and become champ champ and it's sort of a murky water because it's almost like you're knocking around fly away until you have enough clout to get out of the flyweight division yeah yeah so well you have to enjoy the fruits of your uh hard work you know oh absolutely the fruits your loins is that yeah i think so yeah but uh look great great win i think it isn't um whichever you have three there's three options there take one yeah exactly so look it'll be interesting to see uh where figueroa goes next but uh i'll definitely be watching one way or the other yeah we surprised joey benavidez in retire uh no i think like he can definitely still fight you know what i mean um he there's no need for him to call it a day yeah and also like i don't really know what he has learned about the cage i haven't really seen his like this what i do when i'm not fighting or just what up my retirement plan i know obviously megan's probably got a well-paid job uh but i feel like maybe he could have come into the country but i feel like dominic cruz has like that job nailed like all the bantamweights he's like that's not my crazy job yeah and i feel like they almost like to have a fella in each weight class i think they can give like their thoughts on that division like they're the experts without division per second this one's a bit harsh right but to think because he's so small it's harder for him to do the interviews because like say if you have to interview france and ghana like the camera angles would be all over the place you know well no megan or lee is very smart she interviews everyone i know but she's i don't know okay all right i don't work with the tiny and he interviews everyone too yeah but he's not like that he's not that small he's not that much taller than it's only about three inches in the difference today yeah but i'm sure if you get offered joey better be the three inches i'm sure if you left off anyone's just is someone who rolls with it for bc for doom i know yeah it's it's it's bizarre really um i always know like oh sometimes i question kelvin gaston's dedication to the sport uh a redo he says he's on a mission for gold look if he actually you know got nutritionist on like was properly smashing down with the way he should be and eating right um being 100 fully committed to her i think he could go on be a ufc champion yeah i think he could i think he has all the right tools to do he's very hard to take down he actually does have good submissions apparently he's quite weak defensively because i've seen him get submitted a few times now uh but like he's got great hands as well like you still started with uh arsenic so like it's hard to believe that you've gone from before the year can they out of sanya just like kneebard and under two minutes against jacqueline yeah i'm gonna make any shoes here maybe the travel over to azan isn't as comfortable for certain people as it is for others but i mean at the end of the day you're both indicated like you have to sort of step up yeah you do you definitely do yeah um by the way jacqueline's in one interview post fight like he seems like such a lovely guy yeah happy guy the joker like possibly maybe one of the most underrated fighters in the ufc at the moment yeah he was on the team because he was on a tear then lost and then now he's back yeah well he got off there by cannon here but look kanye is one of the best guys in the business you know i mean uh now in his last three fights he has wins over uh jack ray souza and kelvin gosselin who are perennial contenders for the middleweight uh belt so it's only about time jack uh hermans is going to get his proper degree now with the sort of way obviously there's massive uh middleweight fight this weekend but the way the middleweight rankings sort of sit who knows uh where jackhammer manson uh sort of lies if anything if i were him i'd sort of be sort of staying fit and staying healthy and who knows maybe if one of those guys don't make weight he can uh he's still sitting there being like i'll jump in laps don't worry about it yeah why not you know i mean no i'm seven degrees sorry i was just looking through the card and seeing uh russ who else are the honourable mentions before we get into this weekend's ufc uh honorable mentions oh i'm going to give a massive shout out for uh azkar azkarov the russian flyway uh who beat uh alexandre pantoja was at the end of the day he called for a toilet shot next and you never know we might get it and also big shout out to brett jones uh that welsh man he's an absolute legend um he beat montal jackson on i was actually expecting montel jackson to get win um in sad news for a sort of irish mma joe duffy lost didn't look great and then retired yeah joe uh yeah happy retirement job but also there's two other people i want to i want to give a shout out it was the performance tonight for ariel lipsky first of all like she has it all it's like she's gorgeous and uh like she won't be knee bar yeah like she's not around her and then also the man who lives in the matrix would be martial raphael fizzyev like some of his kicks and the way he could just like like dodge punches by bending backwards his was watching him i was like oh [ __ ] and he fights along with his so he's going to be trouble for people he's from uh kosovo where's the jana's iphone yeah kosovo kosovo yeah all right russ that was a noticeable card uh he has on he's banging him out but this weekend roscoe this is the best card jazz allen fighting he is man like you're like i don't think i've ever seen someone in the weight division who's 41 still like after you repping it i mean very harsh man near my grandmother just if you're just going to be like that we'll just move on and right what's kicking off the main card is our m8 reason key is taking on comes up jimmy ev ross let me get into this right i need to get off this i need to actually jump down here right here we go kazma fought on wednesday so literally a week ago and uh he fought champions from spg and he absolutely destroyed john phillips and usually kazma fights a welterweight and he was fighting a middleweight so i got to ross i got this guy kazman is going to be a massive problem for anyone at welterweight ross was like well he fights the middleweight and i was like no he normally fights a welterweight and then there was just no reply it was like this guy looks like a beeb he's fast as anything he he basically looks like man he's an absolute monster like yeah he's got it all he can do it on the feet you can do it on the ground and he made john phillips look very very amateurish and john phillips is very tough you know i mean and you man handle them as well and john phillips was clearly like to take our fellow as well so yeah he's absolutely destroyed john phillips it was actually scary reason rhys mckee like has the deck stacked against him for his ufc debut yeah talk about it talk about how we got the call as well by the way ross so graham boylan actually rang rhys mckee on facetime yeah and he basically sort of went oh watch think of the mazda fight uh you know stepping up on six days notice uh obviously being the absolute four years he was like oh i was absolutely brilliant he was like at all like what a failure that's absolutely incredible and he was like then graham gordon sort of swung at him and goes oh would you do that and obviously reese mckee being reese mckee he was like oh yeah whatever day what 100 do that and the that's all he'd been working hard for his entire career and next thing you know he's like human fighting and they're like no crown yeah so he was like who were fighting and then groundborn was like cosmo and then reese mckee was like who that doesn't matter anyway so uh look i'm sure they watch tape on them i'm sure they think he's very impressed as well well reese mckee is a finisher he goes in there to fish with strikes he'll finish you with uh submissions so at all times in in that arcade reese mckee is very very dangerous yeah watching that video by the way how did that make you feel man he got so emotional about it it made me a bit emotional better i felt like i've been somewhat although very smallly on that journey with them you know i mean i've seen him quite so many times i've seen him fight in person we've had him on the show yeah i like it made me feel like i've seen one of my friends dreams come true yeah man well said that i got like a chill when i saw it like it was because no also it's not every day you see someone guess that cause yeah yeah get what they they've worked hard for you know i mean yeah but yeah but even like say if it was uh someone saw him from manchester united like you never really get to see the actual call that was made when their dreams were yeah and then also like it's a huge task so like hopefully he has to win but he also got a four or five contract as well so it's not just one one point and then like see you there you know yeah it's not one and dawn yeah but uh it's a huge it's a huge fight if if he wins this this is a huge name to get straight away but uh i might like it makes this card this weekend so much better for like for us knowing them as well absolutely they're like it's it's a big deal it really is and it's almost the passing of the card as well joe duffy retires rhys now steps in it's class yeah it really is there is there is going to be i think in the next year a massive sort of irish overcoming and passing the guard uh next wave of oil foyers yeah for people who don't know who who did who should they start looking out for because cage warriors is coming back and there's going to be a few irish clouds in that card that are going to make the make sure you watch recent key this weekend uh obviously ian gary paul hughes they're like garland's three biggest prospects right now and they're definitely the ones to be watching out for yeah well said okay uh russ the obviously that fight is huge so it it sort of makes uh some of these other fights look so much smaller but uh is there any other voice you want to talk about before we get into the forbid you for doing versus alexander costas and fight uh let me have a quick look here well obviously uh alex cowboy oliveira is fighting yeah uh and he's fighting petersburg petersburg hasn't fought in over two years uh and let's be honest uh any time these guys get into the octagon they really really bring it so i'm really looking forward to that they're they're both finishers and that could be your fault of the night you never know true and other than that like carlos bars has looked very impressive recently and she's sort of on her way back to uh ufc total shot she's uh one of the last three fights so obviously she should be michelle waterson her last fight and in terms of that mariana rodriguez is actually undefeated she drew against cynthia calavero in a cashway fight there on the overnight versus rosenstein card so that could be a very competitive scrap there in the strawweight division but fabrica for doing verse alexander gustin talk about folks he never thought you were gonna get yeah and there we have in front of us yeah so for be through the doom is cooling it's coming into this one after lost and that was so surprising to where he lost to lexi on the enoch and then alexander's coasters and is making his heavyweight debut ross what do you what are you expecting here because uh the funny thing is alexander goes in has always followed my heavyweight but he's actually taller than fabrizio i really like alexander gupson this fight i think he's going to be faster i think his striking's more clean and i standard looks very good he looks hard to take down robin whittaker on the other hand he's coming off uh a knockout loss to is israel out of signia out of time he looked him made him look very average in that fight yeah i almost say well whitaker whatever that hasn't really looked like the world champion that he is since he sort of became the champ yeah well at the end of the day he had to fight joel romero twice and everyone knows you're not the same after having before joel romero look chris boyband he's uh not the prettiest of uh faces these days um jesus that's right he actually doesn't look bad [Applause] his career his career has gone on a bit of a negative trajectory to be honest yeah also the story probably the stomach issues he's had as well he's had to pull out i think two fights he has indeed he hasn't indeed actually at the end of the day robert whittaker is the former champion i sort of almost have to say he's the favorite going into the fight but at the end they who's the more hungry you know i mean robert whitaker has already been to the top of the mountain uh he did want to take so much time off downtown like just very very hungry he's chasing that belt i don't know it's a bit of a tough one to call to be honest yeah i know i'm like because you know wait can i can i tell you why yeah because first i think this is what you're seeing right against this israel and assange striker right yeah and whitaker downhill striker he's fighting whitaker but then guarantee a loss to a wrestler in woodley and whitaker is a is a wrestler as well so it's only like they've all lost to the same type of person but both beat the same type of person you know what's weird all i actually feel like i can't envision these two guys standing across the octagon which are like i think a lot of the times when i look at the fight i can see the fight playing out i actually don't really know what's going to happen in this one if that makes sense uh oh i'm going to jump in now i don't i don't think it's going to be a great fight you don't think so no i'm like i'm watching it 100 percent oh no robert i i think robert whittaker is going to get into a brawl with darren tale and i think robert whitaker is going to win boy knockout do you think whitaker is going to win with knockout i don't already trust darwin tales chain to be honest and whitaker like he's been rocked but then he's commanding rock like romero like cracked some massive shots uh whitaker stayed in there uh when taylor got cracked by mazda doll he was able to kill that crack by woodley he was dropped and he was like on the verge of going out and then he got choked out whitaker i think uh is going to be able to crack them and get the job done till shawnee could be hit before whittaker is a very heavy hitter on back and whitaker to get the job done our mate robert whittaker i know uh it's such a hard one like it's hard to see it play out because it is such a strange fight and also like it's hard to say tails gonna win because if whitaker just does what woodley did he'll win but if downhill does that a sign you did against whitaker he'll win i almost feel like pausing the video i don't even know like i'm trying to see this but um answer me this past if till joe's lose does he still have star power because i feel like he's one of those people who can lose a few times and still keep his star power yeah i think he's turned into a bit of a cowboy isn't he donald trump i think he is i think he's like such a lovable character outside the cage that people are going to watch and fight every single time yeah i think i think for the sake of the crack and the stories because you'll obviously want to bring up what's next for these players like i prefer guarantee one and another question that if downhill wins does he get an automatic total shot because i don't think of robert whitaker wins he gets an automatic total shot yeah i know that's the thing i think downingtown versus alexander or uh paulo costa will be class man it would just be brilliant adasanja first downhill like going on at they're going to add it online i think it's brilliant for the fans i think it just draws more more always it's uh it's just a win-win for everyone especially dana white if robert whittaker wins does he need parallel costa to take the belt off out of signing yes he doesn't need to get that shot so oh i don't know i feel like the middleweight division and it's almost like we have two semi-finals here and then like derek hanley are sitting off in the in in the back as the alternate uh to step in but yeah i do think robert whittaker has the higher profile wins like he's beaten jack ray susan he's beaten y'all romero he's beaten at derek bronson he's like sort of almost you know made his wave in his vision he knows where he stands robert whittaker we've only or sorry downtown we've only seen him fight kelvin gaston and like he won a split decision as we said becoming awesome who knows like astrum you know sort of shows up so i don't i can't see darren till getting knocked out but because kevin gaslin hits like a truck and he still couldn't knock out there hill even how questionable his chin could be and then if but if whitaker wrestles him he'll he i'd convince he'll hundred times win so that's more what i'm saying with like a wrestle win for whitaker oh no i've never seen whitaker actually wrestle someone for a whole fight although robert whittaker is a very good wrestler a lot of people don't know this but whitaker actually tried to like oh wrestle uh for australia for the olympics yeah that's what i'm talking about yeah but then i was like no you can't do that uh it's like it's like you're gonna vote for the belt plan you can't people wrestling
