Ross, >> are you intoxicated or something? Introduce the guest man. Today we have the one and only record breaking the only Irish woman to be currently active in the UFC. It's the one and only. It's Mama B. It's Shauna Bannon. Shauna, how are you doing? >> Great, lads. How are you? >> Never better. All the better for having you. Um Shauna, we have to start off with uh that armbar that you got uh Puja with in London. Tell us like how good was that moment? It was that moment. It It looked euphoric getting that arm bar and that win. >> Yeah, it was unreal. Like I think the fight before that I kind of nearly had it and then Alice slipped out. So I kind of like fixed me mistakes. I was working on that a good bit because I'm in that position a lot. So getting the finish makes the difference clearly because I would have lost that fight otherwise. Um but yeah, it was unreal. Deadly moment. and tell us when you were in that moment like like did did you realize that you were hurt at the time or were you unaware or was the arm bar just like an automatic thing that that you were just used to doing? >> Yeah. No, like she hit me a solid head kick but I was reaching for the kick so I was off balance and when she kicked me she then pushed I don't know if you see it from the other angle. She like pushes my head so I fall down and like yeah she walloped me but like I was like regain my guard and go for the arm. That was like and I had literally said to Gary before we walked I was like all her finishes are Bri Arra like the people finishing her and uh so like we drilled that exact sequence in the changing room just before I walked and so it was fresh in me head and yeah like I planned on taking her down and maybe submitting her and getting ground and pound but look it made it special effects we wouldn't have got the 50 grand bonus then maybe >> that went absolutely viral by the way not only the finish but you actually getting the bonus bonus as well. When you heard about getting the bonus, like obviously it was on camera, but like how did that feel on top of the victory? >> Ah, it's unreal because like when you think about like your first few fights as a pro, you make no money. Like to be honest, you basically lose money like putting in the work for a camp, traveling to train with different training partners, your food, your supplements, everything. Like it's expensive, do you know what I mean? And you do not make the money back. So like it put me in a position where I was financially secure. Do you know what I mean? It's a big lump in the bank. I was living fight to fight before that. Do you know what I mean? >> Um, so yeah, it puts me in a a lot better position and then I got a new contract out of it as well. So that's even extra special. >> But well but you know what they say, they want the finishes and especially in the women's fights uh like you know they're more prone to go decision. So getting those finishes makes it that bit more special. You know what I mean? So we love to see it and you know we know you're in there for the finish as well and that's what we're looking forward to. But uh I suppose you know all roads now lead to Paris. Um massive step up in competition. Sammy U she's five and five in the UFC. That's 10 fights. That's more than your pro career in terms of fights. Uh already she has in the UFC. She's five and two in her last seven as well. Like she she's on a good role. But I suppose that goes to show how much stock UFC are willing to put in you if they're putting you in there against her. Like they they're obviously looking for you to take this step. Do do you feel that from them? >> Yeah 100%. Like it's I'm staying in Europe. I'm in Paris. They're not that they're setting this fight up for me, but like it's a good step up in competition. And I think like I be her, I rob her rank and I get a jump up in the rankings and then the next step is then for the top 15, top 10, top five and go for the belts. And that's that's the journey that I'm on now after getting my first couple of wins in the UFC. I'm in the door. I'm comfortable now and I want to progress in the rankings and get that belt. >> Yeah, absolutely. We'd love to see it. And like we were only saying to Patty after last fight, like every time you actually make that walk, you break another record. Every time you get a win, you break another record. Like at the moment, you know, Mama be the record breaker is well and truly in full flight. Te tell us this. Does do you feel that when you when you do it each time? Because I know Patty's like quite the story, so like he'll be letting you know, but like you know you break that record every time. >> Yeah. Like he said to me after my last fight, he was like, "You do realize if you retired now, you'd still be the most successful female in Ireland." And I was like, "I'm only getting started." Like I don't feel like I only have me foot in the door. I'm like, there's a lot more to come. Um, like obviously I've been fighting my whole life, so I don't plan on fighting until I'm 40 or whatever. But I have a good few years left in me and a good run um to go for that belt and get that make more history, new records and just keep going. Do you know what I mean? But yeah, Patty does be in here letting me know. And it's nice because sometimes you're just such an autopilot and focusing on what you're doing that you don't kind of take the time to like realize what's actually happening. Do you know what I mean? Um so it's nice to get reassured of that. >> Yeah, absolutely. And one thing that uh we've taken note of the last couple of camps is uh we we love the girl power on show. Uh yourself, Emma and Ka um have all been trained together relentless together, but also this I feel like this camp is different again cuz you're actually all preparing for fights in around the same time. Does that make a massive difference as well? Does that really unite you even more? >> Yeah, 100%. Cuz we're all in that mindset. Do you know what I and we're all couldn't wait and cutting weight puts you into a different mindset and anyways and then like we're just we all have something to focus on. We're all in September and we're all like looking to progress our careers. Kai is now making her pro debut. Emr stepping up in cage warriors and it's just constant growth and like we push each other in sparring but then there's no drama. It's just it's great. It's rare but brilliant what we have going on and it's like we train together two three times a week and we get them sessions in and we do love our content. The the content is the best part. >> Is there actually any training happening or is it just content? >> No, we're just there to take real just one today. It'll be due out in the next few days. Keep an eye. >> Make sure to like and subscribe. But but you know what? That's that's that's the best way for you three to continually build your brand. Like we're always saying to people like like Barry always praises like Amy Skully for like her content. You know what I that like >> like like the thing is like I know I know like you know some people say like winning is important but like winning isn't as important if no one knows who you are. Knowing who you are is important and like I think I think uh you guys are doing a phenomenal job and like uh like I I was laugh at the can you take a pick one the last day. I thought that was that was gas. So uh >> me and you really got into it. Then we were outside in the car park and I was like right is this a little bit much? But she comes with the ideas. It's all emer. >> Me and Kai just go with the flow. We're like, "Yeah, whatever." Like, "Let's just do it." But >> EMR comes with the ideas, but then I get real into it because like I don't think I do things by half. So, I get real serious and I'm like, "Right, I'm an actor now. Like, let's go." >> And also, also, shout out to Gary Rooney and Alex Sullivan. Part of the girl gang as well. >> And Jake and Guy. Yeah, like those guys are also getting ready for Cage Warriors in Dublin as well. Um, Shauna, you're obviously very busy in the buildup to UC Paris September 6th. Will you also be in attendance for Cage Warriors Dublin to support the rest of the gang? >> I sure will. I can't wait because there's actually such good fights on. >> Yeah. >> So, I I come back. I'm away and I get back I think on the Thursday and that's the Saturday. Yeah. >> Diana Joy show up the >> So Ross, that was Shauna Bannon, your favorite Bannon man. >> Yeah, absolutely. Shauna Bannon, great to have her on. She has a very busy schedule at the moment. Um she's training nonstop, so she was able to squeeze in for 10 minutes and it was unbelievable to catch up with her. She's riding that twoight win streak as we touched on. That arm bar in the last fight was absolutely sensational. She really looked more herself in that fight and now she's going in against Sam Hughes who is definitely an absolute tough cookie in the UFC as we touched on 10 fights. And um Shauna Ban's actually going in the underdog on the betting odds in this one. But uh I think she has the skills to pay the bills and I think she has the tools to get the job done. Um, she is coming on leaps and bounds each fight and I do think that training with those lighterweight girls uh like Emer and Ka and then Gary Rooney and Alex or something in there, I feel like that can only go to our advantage and I think we're going to see the best round of Adam to date uh come September. >> Exactly, man. Are we? We are indeed. We are indeed. So, um I think we if we're talking about the UFC, it's only right to touch on UFC Shanghai. Yeah. And unfortunately, Kever Crosby lost, but I think the more telling point to this fight was the illegal knee that he took. Baz, how vicious was that illegal knee? >> Yeah. So, we were obviously tuned in watching Kefir, sporting him all week. This this was a huge fight for Kefir. He was coming off two losses going into this fight into Shanghai the his opponent's back garden and receiving that knee and the way he was split open so badly was um was it was just unbelievable man. Um also bearing in mind like he should have got five minutes to recover and then he was basically rushed back in in under a minute. Um, looking at all the comments and stuff, some people said that maybe he should have just um said he couldn't continue and we should have got the DQ loss, but Kever is like a a pure animal and he wanted to get back in there, but I think he should have been held back a bit, allowed the five minutes to recover and then go back in. >> I think the decision probably should have been taken out of his hands. I think >> yeah, >> a strike that lands that much damage and cuts open your opponent >> is such a sizable advantage that he got from landing that strike. And at the end of the day, I don't think the two points that were taken off would negated that. The chances of of a strike being landed to that level and then going the distance, I'd say, are quite minute. Um, I was only talking to my dad randomly yesterday and he was actually watching a YouTube video on MMA where it showed like people like cheating and I was sort of saying to him that it actually almost pays to cheat in MMA. If you're being taken down at the fence and you grab the fence, you sort of get a warning maybe a first time, maybe a second time, and then maybe the ref penalizes you. You know, your first low blow is free, your first eye poke is free. You you could effectively do any illegal move to start off a fight and potentially get away with it. >> Very Jones. >> Yeah, exactly. It's like you have to do it repetitively to actually get penalized and and this time um his opponent land the big knee to keeper who was like could be any more on the ground really. And >> he wasn't far from knocking him out to be honest. I I feel that, you know, T keepfer was too tough for his own good. And look, I hope it doesn't cost him his UFC career. I think that needs to be looked at and said, "Look, that was an illegal shot and he he should be given another chance because I wouldn't really appeal the fight overall cuz I don't think I think it's fair to say after being dealt such a large blow, he got one fifth of the time, like it was less than a minute before the fight restarted from the blow being landed and I think the doctor who was from that region. Like was there a language barrier between him and Kefir? I don't know. Well, I'm actually just guessing the doctor was from that region. He looked like he was of Asian descent. That's all I can say. Um and I'm just wondering was there a language barrier there? And then they asked like what questions did they ask Kefir? And then did you understand them? And then if you're just going to ask Keer, do you want to fight? He's always going to say yes. >> Yeah. I think that's I I think sometimes when an illegal blow is that bad, you should probably ask his corner like are you happy for him to continue? >> Yeah, for you. >> Like Mark Mark Otard was obviously the ref during the fight. Is that is this something like he like he's refed thousands thousands of fights? Like should he been not better in that cage there to sort of make sure he got the five minutes, man? Like it's you know what I mean? As we said, like keeper's obviously going to say, "Yeah, I'm ready to go again." But like I don't know. I just think Mark Gard should have done some better. It was just something like that doesn't happen very often and like to land that is it's just like Mark do you have to do something here man? I >> I think that's part of the issue that it doesn't actually happen so often. So when it does >> happen there's not a set steps of procedure that you know this this then this happens if that makes sense. And I know Mark Otter is probably the best ref in the world. He was probably going by the letter of law. What happened? He was probably doing his steps in play. Kefir said he want to continue. The doctor cleared him. He was good to go. That's the way it sort of went down. But uh I I think it's cuz Kefir actually got back to his feet so soon as well. Like we've seen other fighters take like illegal blows on the ground and they sort of roll around the floor for a long time and that gives them more time to you know recover and rest. But I don't think anyone would take a knee to the face at that velocity and then 40 seconds time be back fully compensated. And also the gash on his face was such a massive gash that I don't think any amount of points deduction would have been fair to the result of that. Like he he was going to be bloodied and busted for the rest of the fight. So yeah, I think I personally think the fight should have been a DQ. It was an intentional fail that led a reputable damage and for me he should have been dqed. And also that affects Kefir's purse as well. Like if he was DQed, Kefir would have got his show money on his win bonus as well. Now he's only getting a show money. Do any other fights come to mind where someone landed something like illegal, whether it be a knee or anything and caused that much damage apart from a head clash. I think the more recent ones that come to mind are people more flopping on the ground, but I think the one that is the most famous is when Pod Yan need Aine Sterling in the head. Aine Sterling became champion. >> Yeah, but I'm meaning more along the lines of like busting someone open. >> No, I haven't seen someone like that damaged from an elite shot and then continuing on. Yeah, look, Mark Godard, man. Sort it out, man. Will you? Jesus. It was more like watching Kefir the next day putting that reel out saying like how dejected he was and then like he was almost sort of saying that he could be potentially retired and it was just like like in that fashion is just like oh >> cuz now now he's completely left in limbo like >> he deserves again. >> Yeah. Will they keep and the way he was saying how MMA is a sport you love but it doesn't it'll never love you back. >> I was just like oh >> but the thing is I'd love to see him actually fight again at lightweight. >> Oh man it's just oh man like covering the sport even the way we were at Kuma at the weekend like the way when Betty Johnson won and then Lee Mau lost and then you're happy for one and you feel bad for the other. It's just it plays your emotions so much. Like I could only imagine being a coach of like two fighters fighting each other from the same gym and stuff like that. Like you could only imagine, man. It's such a crazy crazy sport. But look, look, Kef Cosby is obviously like one of Ireland's most like um not only famous, but um supported fighters across the across the whole of the country. So hopefully he gets his fair du. >> People have a lot of time for Kever. So >> look, I'd love to see him get back out there. um and be given another shot from the UFC. So, only time will only time will tell. >> Yeah. And we'll keep you updated on that as well cuz uh I'm I'm sure his phone's blowing up right now cuz uh everyone enjoys a good Keeper Crosby Fight Week. >> Uh Ross, in the main event, former SPG Ireland fighter Johnny Walker won like and um he did the infamous Worm at the end. Um, how impressed were you by Johnny Walker? Um, who would you like to see Johnny Walker fight next? >> Yeah, I thought it was I thought actually thought it was quite a strange performance from Johnny Walker because straight from the at the very start of the fight, he ran across the cage and did a double-legged takedown, which is the least Johnny Walker thing I'd ever expect. H, and he was actually unsuccessful and ended up on his back. So, >> can I can I stop you for a sec? >> Yeah. Did you Did you happen to see he put a reel out beforehand about >> and then he Johnny Walker shaved off his mustache to give himself that Daganny beard. >> So that's why he did that. >> Okay. That's just like crazy wild behavior. I didn't see that. But when I watched it, I was like, what is going on here? >> Um yeah, Bismings were slated him for it. Um look, it was what it was. But then Johnny Walker, he he actually ate a big elbow at one stage and he took it like a champ. So I think the thing about Johnny Walker is you always like slightly worry about his chin and you know his ability to take a punch, but you know he he took that elbow like an absolute champ and then in the second round what actually won the fight for me was he found home for really good leg kicks. And I think that there's something he should implement more going forward. Really hurt his opponent. his opponent was basically hobbling around and went dropped down to the ground and then Johnny Walker just absolutely like pulverized him from then like even the punches Johnny Walker was throwing were so unorth orthodox like his hammer fists like they come from such a height as well cuz he's so tall and he was just like throwing his fists at his opponent. It was um it it it was a great stoppage for him and a great and much needed win for him. For me, I'd love to see him fight Jamal Hill next. I know he's already fought Jamal Hill. He lost to him. Um, but I think that's a fight that sort of makes sense. Jamal Hills, I think he's lost the last three. Uh, he's obviously much higher ranked than Johnny Walker. You know, that's a fight that Jamal Hill be like, "Right, Johnny Walker's won a couple. I've already beaten him. I get back in the win column for Johnny Walker. He could, you know, fight and defeat a former UFC champion." I think it's a fight that makes sense for both. >> Yeah. Well, at the moment we have a poll out on the Energized Shows Instagram page asking who do you want to see Johnny fight next and the options were Jumbahal Hill and Nikita Kryoff. Uh Ross, take a guess at the votes so far. >> I'd say Sweet Dreams by I don't know 78%. >> It's actually very very close. 79% Jamahal Hill, 21% Nikita Cross. >> Jeez, I'm taking that as a pure win. like 78% strong like that was that was that was an unbelievable guess. >> No man, no not today but not today. But um Ross overall hopefully we see Kefir Crosby back getting one more chance. Um >> and shout out to Liner C as well who took a a bad loss on the night as well. >> Hopefully we see him back soon. >> Yeah, the way he was stepping backwards and didn't put his hand up that that was uh that was all she wrote. >> I don't think you'd fought a boxer that high level before. So, I think that was that was a learning moment for >> Yeah. Yeah. That was a tough watch. That was but uh overall Shanghai. Oh, what can you say, man? Hopefully the Irish, but like look, Shauna is Ireland's next UFC fighter and she will be back in the octagon at UC Paris September 6th. So, look, hopefully Shauna can get the win and then get get the Irish fans a bit more upbeat. Um, just looking at this weekend, Ross, there's no UFC. It's actually a bit of a down week for Combat Sports. Um, the only thing I have written down here is Misfits Boxing is back as Darn Hill is fighting Luke Rockhold. >> That's on this weekend, bud. Man, that should be that should be interesting. >> N I'm semi interested. I'm going to predict Darren Hill will win. >> Yeah, me too. >> Who was the co-main event? There's a weird co-main event, but it's Tony Ferguson. Tony Ferguson's fighting like Sal Papia or something, isn't he? >> Okay. >> I think Joey Essex is fighting us, man. Like, look, >> fighting as well. >> We're making that up. >> I think I think he is. I think he is, man. Look, we'll be uh doing countdowns for it in the buildup, man. Because I'm sure people aren't really here for M boxing, but it is interesting. That's the thing. You have to talk about the interesting stuff. And also, shout out to Fabian Edwards who got the head kick knockout against Rosa >> last week, man. That was uh Man, Team Renegade love a headsh shot then, don't they? >> They absolutely do. That was an absolute devastating knockout. >> Oh, that was devastating, bro. But uh Ross, the people are here. They've already liked. They've already subscribed. They've already been like, "Can't wait to get a pair of them Energized glasses because right now we are discussing the biggest Irish MMA event of the year that went down and we were there at Akuma Fighting Championships over the weekend, Saturday night. We're in the Jim Baker Stadium and when we say or when I say or we say whatever, we speak for each other sometimes. The main event was potentially the greatest all Irish fight of the year. That is not a lie. In the buildup to the fight, we said Steve knew exactly what he was doing matchmaking this fight, but I just my head was absolutely blown off my shoulders watching this fight. Ross, did you enjoy the main event between Benny Johnson and Lee McO? Not only did I enjoy it, I was excited for it going into this fight. I thought it had the potential for fireworks, but this fight somehow managed to overd deliver from that. The first round we saw Lee Miguel drop Benny Johnson twice in sensational fashion. He looked like he was ready going for the kill. Um, some might say, you know, he blew his beans and, you know, he he went too too hard in that in that that first round and he gassed out, but there was that sort of 50/50 sway between the second half of the first round and the start of the second round where, you know, they were going blow forblow. Certain shots were landing for each fighters that were really damaging. We saw Liam covering up at times. We saw Liam also land a massive head kick on Benny and then all of a sudden Benny just started landing these combos and he was putting four, five, six punches together and he eventually took uh dropped uh Liam himself. He sort of fell in up against the cage and then Benny shot in for a double leg takedown and that that was all she wrote. He's sort of ground and pounding his way into Liam giving up his uh back and Benny took the choke and rear naked choke finish in second. It was an absolute blood bath in there. Both fighters gave their absolute all. It was some of it it was probably one of the best fights I've ever seen live. Um let alone the fight of the year. It it was sort of up there with the elk of, you know, Reese McKe just from Burlington. Like these two lads just went to absolute war put on the line and uh as Benny Johnson would say, he's got that dog in them. >> Yeah, it was it was crazy. It was crazy. Like walking into the cage after when they're about to announce the winner, like I was just like, I can't believe we cover this stuff, man. Absolutely crazy. Let alone the lads competing. But like that, you see, look, when it comes to covering Irish Irish fights and fighters, it's the likes of two Irish lads fighting each other, putting it all on the line out there to like get even more notoriety and like get even more people supporting them and more people even more excited for their fights cuz like covering the covering the covering Irish fighters, if you're going to like obscure regions to fight uh absolute randomer and then if you potentially lose like that that actually brings your stock down loads, whereas like these two lads both have gained even more respect and like um support in the buildup to this. Like um I even saw after Ross you did an interview with Benny Johnson and the first person to comment on that was uh Troy Gibson who had previously beaten Benny in the last fight in another unbelievable fight and it was sort of like that sort of respect and um support like from the community like it grows with you when you put it all on the line. So, uh, these two lads went, they both put on like such a performance that like no one went home and and not a supporter of Lee Miguel and Benny Johnson in that fight. And like I I have even more respect for both them as well because they both put it all on the line cuz that was a huge fight for Benny Johnson to take coming off a loss against Troy Gibson and then fighting Lim who Liam was 1 and0 and won at um EFC down in Cork. So, massive respect for the both of them and their teams and the event itself. And uh the the the there is a link to watch the full fight because you have to watch the full fight. I know we put a clip out of the back and forth, but I didn't feel like that did it justice. It just uh the the way the fight swayed back and forth and like the arena was just getting louder and louder. It was uh it was it was fights like that I was just like this is why I love this stuff and covering it and uh shout out to boat lads and the way that there was such respect after it was just uh it was an unbelievable night to be part of and to watch a caveide as well. So, uh, and everyone that was involved as well. >> I love this game. >> I love this game, man. Oh, it was Oh, it was just like the drive home we had after. We were just like, we were just like, Jesus. >> Oh, we were we were in awe of that fight. It was it was something really, really special. It really, really was. And like I said, Liam Stock definitely went up. Benny Stock went up. I felt he was the underdog going in there. And, you know, he had a point to prove and he really showed that he is at that level. And I thought I think that was a massive win for him come come fight night. >> Exactly, man. Exactly. Um Ross, there there is obviously there was also other huge wins for people on the card. Um where do you want to start here, man? >> Well, maybe we'll just work our way backwards. Um Marco uh Boychuk came out and uh he got the finish and moves to 2 and 0. I think that was a more of a statement performance for him going out there and getting the finish. I especially think after his pro debut against Ysef Okane. Um I think that he really wanted to go out there and show that he is a high level martial artist and he showed that I was very impressed with him in this fight and I think he's someone that people won't be putting their hand up to be fighting all too soon on the Irish scene. So uh I'd love to see him maybe get signed to an LFL or an octagon or something next and see him go from there. I think uh he looks like a good talent. >> He does. Yeah. And also I thought Jake Gilpin gave a gave a good account of himself in the cage there as well. Um unfortunately the feed featherweight title fight was pulled on the day but uh there was one title fight there. The middleweight title was won by Daniel Ara uh knocking out CJ Armstrong and like Ross both these lads came in with big reputations. Daniel Ara won the middleweight title fights out of Semac. How impressed were you by his win? >> Yeah I think I think he finished it within 30 seconds. uh landed a big overhand right and he knocked out CJ Armstrong. I it sort of made me think afterwards that it's a crazy sport that we followed that he would have came up drove up for Dublin for two hours got ready for an hour and a half in the back and then the the perfect outcome is to win within 30 seconds. You know, it's a it's a crazy sport that that we watch. But look, CJ Armstrong is absolutely no joke. I was very high on him going into this fight. Obviously Daniel Lar is out of CAMAC. That gym is on fire at the moment. Um he he he is their version of Ilia Tapora. Um he he he's a big dude. He hits hard and he looks like he's starting to put it really all together. So uh and he had no problem in the post interview calling out a few people he would like to fight next. So I I think uh he's definitely one to watch out for, but uh don't sleep on uh CJ Armstrong uh in his next fight either. >> Yeah. And then in the bantamweight division then uh Owen Gal defeated Johnny Dugen by submission. Yeah, that that that was a that was a great finish. Obviously Johnny Dugen is is almost a vet of the Irish amateur scene. So uh that was a big win for for for own there. I know Johnny would be disappointed with his performance but uh we'll see the JD show back in time. Um don't sweat it Johnny. Then also in the featherweight division, uh Cody O' Connor from Richie Ivory defeated Adam Braniff by decision. Yeah, that that was a massive win for uh Cody. Um obviously, you know, anytime you see an FA fighter step into the cage now, they have that massive reputation to carry and they have that big weight on their back because at the end of the day, like that's the most successful gym in the country at the moment. So, uh, for, you know, Richie Ivory and Cody to pick up pick up the win there, that must have felt really, really big for them. So, fair play. It was a it was a really good fight. A lot of back and forth in as well. So, uh, shout out to Cody. >> Yeah. And then, uh, Destiny Zobi defeated uh, won by unanimous decision as well. He defeated Luke Perry. >> Yeah. Uh, Destiny coming out of uh, Team Sander. Um he he looks he looks like a supreme athlete in there. Yeah. H he he looked to be much larger um of the two men in there. And it's going to be interesting to see because there's not a lot of light heavyweights uh around the country or heavyweight. So look, I'd love to see him fight again. Uh we always like seeing the big dudes scrap it out. So uh yeah, let's let's see how it goes from. >> Yeah, keep an eye out for him. Uh then there was the like one of the biggest victories of the night. Gemma Kogill defeated Lennena Schmid but in a novice fight via knockout like this went pretty viral. I there's something about Gemma that is she has there's star power quality there but but like I can't really recall many fighters getting such a massive push and support at a novice level before like like she hasn't even fought an amateur yet. >> Yeah. Look uh she brought a big crowd. She danced her way to the cage. She got in there and she used her range really well and detonated a massive right hand that um silenced the her opponent and you know the plays erupted. She uh seems to be a real talent and someone to keep an eye out for. She she has that it factor and look I hope she continues on h mixed martial arts journey because she looks really really good and it was the first of what was it? Was it three three female fights on the card? >> Yeah. No, there was two overall. There was >> Oh, sorry. Two was. Sorry. One one didn't happen. There was meant to be three, but there was a uh missed weight issue. Uh and then I suppose I just want to give a shout out to Faith Brian as well from the shed. H getting a win over Le Mer. That was obviously huge for the shed and the shed is probably in terms of you know it's one of the newer gyms in the country and going against up against SPG Ireland which is probably the oldest gym in the country and that was that was a massive win for them and a massive win for Faith. Um so fair play to her. She uh she looked really dominant especially when she got that top control. Um I just want to maybe mention one or two other fights fights on the car that I thought was really impressive. Yeah, >> I thought Jamaican Jake Duncan H was really really impressive. He got a triangle win in the first round against Gabby G. I thought that was really really impressive triangle. And then also shout out to Max McCaffy or Mafy who took the fight on one day's notice and came in and got a a armbar finish against Mallister. So he's only 17 that kid. So Mafy and Duncan are definitely ones to be watching out for. Two young prospects. Yeah. Also, I have to give a shout out to Shane Cardy who got the submission victory as well from MMA Quark. >> Yeah, that that was actually very slick studio skills. >> Yeah. So, uh myself and Ross were at the event. Um I was doing the social media and then Ross was also doing postfight interviews as well. Um they're all on the Energize Shows Instagram page. So, in like Ross obviously interviewed Benny the Butcher after his win. Um he also had Alexander Sullivan on. He interviewed Daniel Ara after his victory. uh Keith Kio as well, Gemma Kogal as well and um Max Mafi and also Jumbo Jordan O'Neal who'll be fighting a cage warriors Newcastle in in in a few weeks time. So like overall Ross, what a show. What an event. You have to give a shout out as well to the cut team man as well, Ross. Yeah, shout out to the inside out care helping fighters go the distance and those guys do an absolutely phenomenal job. There are shows up and down the country every weekend protecting protecting the fighters. Uh Jess and his team there are absolutely sensational at what they do. They they really make the fighters feel safe. So h it's probably not often that the co team get shouted out, but they really do deserve it. They're a phenomenal team. And why not shout out to Browner and Andrew McGon as well while we're at it. >> What about the refs, man? >> And shout out to Aaron Wallace. Absolute man monster of a ref. And shout out to Phil Campbell. He was doing judging on the night. >> Love Phil Campbell. >> Beefy as ever. He was >> man. Um we also went over the Kefir Crosby situation as well cuz that like that was that's heartbreaking stuff you know >> really is. >> Yeah. And then like Akuma fighting championships the way that went down was unbelievable. Um everyone kind of like as we said we told you in the buildup this was a fight not to be missed and it wasn't. We don't lie here Ross do we? Well you do most of the time but but most of the time I'm just sarcastic so we don't actually lie. Baz, give us some rundown there for what's left on deck for the Irish amateur scene for the rest of the year. I know there's a few pro fights on them for the Irish host, >> the locals, >> right? The Irish local events. >> Yeah. Okay. So, uh, this weekend there are no Irish fighters competing. Uh, local shows wise, we have Euro Fighting Championships going down on the 14th of September. Then we have Cage Warriors Dublin on the 27th of September. Then we have Elite Fighting Championships the 11th of October. Cage Conflict the week after on the 18th of October. Uh then in November we have Chaos Fighting Championships on the 15th of November. As I said, uh 22nd we have Wrath Fighting Championships. And then on the 30th of November, Evolution Fighting Championships and then in December we have Gladiator the 7th of December and the 31st of December we have Cage Legacy. So uh there's plenty of Irish shows coming up, plenty more big nights ahead and uh plenty more Irish combat sports action for us to cover Ross cuz uh without the fights we don't have a show. >> No, absolutely not. I'm absolutely buzzing for all those shows. All great shows, all great promoters. You know what? Irish MMA is absolutely buzzing. And I I feel like the next couple of weeks, it's going to be buzzing even more, especially with with the likes of Cage Warriors coming up.
