Combat Confidential posts a brief backstage interview with Daniel Kämpfer after Cage Legacy Fighting Championship 23. Host Paul introduces him as the new welterweight champion, noting he won by submission in a hard fight. Kämpfer says he feels buzzing but a little dirty after the bout, and that he expected a tough night against a bigger, more experienced opponent who is a strong striker. He explains he is less experienced in the cage and planned to take a takedown if it appeared because he was not worried on the ground against that opponent’s grappling. He recounts his background: born in Germany, moved to Italy around age seven, and won about three amateur bouts there before relocating to Ireland. He says Irish amateur MMA feels closer to professional level than what he saw abroad, and that UK and Ireland are the European hubs he wanted to compete in. The segment closes with congratulations on the submission and a hope to see him on future Cage Legacy Fighting Championship shows.
