Thailand National MMA Team Departs for GAMMA Asian Championship 2026 in Malaysia

The Thailand National Mixed Martial Arts Team, comprising both senior and youth athletes, departed Thailand this morning on an AirAsia flight to compete in the GAMMA Asian Championship 2026 in Putrajaya, Malaysia.

The championship represents an important opportunity for Thai athletes to gain valuable international competition experience, further develop their technical and competitive capabilities, and test themselves against leading MMA athletes from across Asia. The tournament also forms part of Thailand's long-term athlete development and preparation pathway towards major Asian multi-sport events, including the Asian Games and the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games.

The Thai delegation is led by Dr. Phanu Kusolwong, Secretary General of the Thailand Association of Mixed Martial Arts, together with Coach Kyo Natthathorn Thammapiyanan, Thailand National MMA Team Coach. Senior and youth national team athletes are travelling as part of the delegation to represent Thailand at this continental championship.
