foreign [Applause] okay what's going on guys and welcome to a brand new episode of energize the Face-Off Ross introduce the guest man today we have two of Ireland's finest boxers they're gonna face off down in Waterford we have the real deal Dylan born and we have the Pretty Boy Declan Garrity lards how are we feeling yourselves Barry what about you but the Lord doesn't ask who you were so I'll ask who you are Russ I'm doing absolutely brilliant I'm Phil I'm very few yeah we love her we love her and Lads this is a big one this has a lot of people talking a lot of people interested and Dylan obviously this fight is the homecoming it's in your hometown how'd this fight come about Yeah so basically about two weeks ago I was supposed to find someone different and therefore it fell through in that phone call they said to me the promoter said to me taking care of you take it and I never really pictured myself fighting Deco and I was like do you think so he goes I know so I said find out he ran me back an hour later it says deco's game ball I was like make the voice and he said look take a few days think about it we'll see what options you have half eight the next morning a voice note and I said make the voice he said there's no change in your mind is that and I said no it's just an excellent voice yeah it definitely is it definitely it definitely really is our attention I think we knew about 40 maybe five or six days before it was announced we're on for two years a couple of uh DMS going back and forth but uh we were very very excited about it yeah and I had before we come across few decades did you just hear from his promoter or uh always meant to fight against Row one day another from Watford as the co-man event and uh because mine just said to me his manager said when I was talking to me he said well we kind of had a feeling you would take the fleet you know what I mean it's like I'm getting bother for you I don't really give a [ __ ] oh man so it's a jump open way but like it is what it is man it's two Vlogs having a knock and that's the end of it I absolutely love it yeah we have to ask obviously in the bit like Katie Taylor's gonna be fighting the tree Arena against Amanda Serrano and in the build-up there was talk about you fighting Paddy Donovan like was that was there ever opportunity that this happened on the Katy Taylor card or even on this card yeah there was a lot of back and forth with that but I was on a kind of time frame where it was do I you know put my life on hold for Katie Taylor and the chance that it happens how do I crack on my own show and you know just not more important to find a home for me so I just put the blinkers on so let's go ahead and reward for new air yeah it's it's definitely a big fight like YouTube you're both your names carry quite a lot of weight in the Irish boxing scene so it's definitely got people talking um tell us this in terms of all the Royals domestic uh fights where do you think this ranks in all time I don't know to be honest with this but the reaction is after getting it up there uh it's an intriguing fight there's a lot of split opinions on it that's what makes these fights good you know I mean and what's your take on Deco if you're learning foreign that's the only way you'll find out how how like the build up can be very good but as me in general had it wasn't much of a build up and then all this when they came in to wonderful nights for the years you know one for the year so you'll only find out on the night if it's up there if it's the all-time best or if feels like Mountain Tomatoes I love that this was Rufus book this is where it only for like driving people even feel [ __ ] kill like I saw me now man from Flats originally so this feels like [ __ ] Hound this is deadly and he actually happened and I was like surprising enough like it's a it seemed like a good feeling you know I mean so expect to be a great great time down there you know man yeah absolutely I I think one thing that is special as well is uh seeing boxing shows booked back in in the Republic of Ireland I know there's been a good few up in Belfast and a lot of other photos I've had to go up that way but and maybe we'll touch with yourself Deco because uh Deal's been off in Eastern Europe on day five the last 10 years what's it like to fight uh South of the Border it's been a world for me I've had a lot of fights all over the world but it's nice to have like it's hit it's it's a homecoming for him where it is but the homecoming for me to have me out and they'll have my own family and friends not have to travel abroad you know man so on on that a lot of people have been onto me fatigue as well so respect that bring a big crowd there obviously I wouldn't expect to have as big as crowd as him but the noise will match it yeah obviously it has its advantages um you know like I said I'm sure Deco will have his own numbers down with him like I said water versus Dublin it can be nothing but an excellent noise and I'm sure the atmosphere will take the roof off the place and then Deca what way do you see the fight going uh obviously we can talk about the build up and you know it's a great play between two words players but uh how do you see the fight actually playing out I think it's very difficult for you if I'm almost there I don't think Dylan gets respect deserves and the probably the a lot of boxing Community a lot of people say how much of a a blog or a social media is because he's he's big on the on the Instagram but uh he's a very good boxer he's a fairly good talented boxer I think the fighters don't want him maybe tilvis Corners before I mean if I had a my father knows how good he is and what he brings to the table so it's gonna be a tough hard for you there's like I don't expect a title I do expect a time to go on the trenches together the boxing to come out on top the point in the comment on top it's you know it's gonna have to do whatever I have to do to win this free I do expect a good solar higher time around so like it's it's a tofu you know I mean it's really toefully uh people are like he said is people are having two stories of it and people are like why are you moving up so much weight the fight it's actually nice to have a build up where like people are on the on like it's it's well in good going to England I find someone over England it was a bit of a name over in England but it's not the same kind of Banta it's not the same back and forth of the kind of thing kind of stick you're getting off people from Ireland you know mainly because it's it's better you're going to England you're the Fortnight and it's nice to [ __ ] and have the bit of stick back and forth between the bubbles now we're not really a trash talker anymore maybe a few years ago would have a bit more respectful now and they're more older now so you're not gonna really get much trash talking off me but say what I feel and I do believe I beat him you know I mean I do believe the best they can get any beats the best in the morning all day long I'm sure he's gonna say the same thing but let me see in the night you know man yeah definitely I I didn't realize um your dad had corn numb till there's not a bit of a personal touch to this foreign before yeah I actually already done an interview or your armor so I have a lot of time for taking on his daddy that's a good man um but you know this is business um it's the very same respect that comes back for me I believe this is a fight where it doesn't really need trash talk and it just sells itself um you know there's no Wolverine pull over at Echo so there's never a million box right tekone was running about just like I know what he's about and you know at the end of the day we're fighting for the other stuff it could be nothing but the fight that it's going to be uh and tell us uh Anna because there obviously uh you know people or if you say differently obviously you had that back and forth with uh Jake Paul at that stage and stuff like that do you feel like a fight like this on a win here will get you that respect that you're looking for amongst the Irish box and scene yeah 100 you know listen I'll serve my trade I've been boxing since I'm four years of age this Jake Paul thing and this Instagram you know it just kind of got in the way of it I couldn't give a excuse the language but I couldn't give a [ __ ] about social media this is the most important thing in my life you know what I mean anybody that wants to look at BoxRec and wants to look at Instagram and thinks that that's still more and well then they're a bigger fool and like Declan said we'll see on the 8th of April uh let's get ready tell us this um we know you said you you know you're gonna be in the transit at some stage but obviously being the the lawyer man criminal do you think you can get the finish in this fight uh yeah I do actually believe that yeah I think Dylan did an interview about like I'm coming up and wait and I've been sparked out before with the lighter guys but I don't think he realized her weight train that would have been and there's only people around me how much weight trained I've been I'm actually strong at the I'm strong I'm walking on my own way and this is a walk on my own way I'm stronger very very strong so um that's what I was happy to take this for you uh like people are looking at Dylan's recording he lost to basically no disrespect to a Johnny man but it was a very very tough journeyman he was he was tuned to you if you look at him he went on a beating undefeated kid after him and then picked up two losses against her good people so people are looking and saying he got sparked up with Johnny man I know he brings to the table didn't Dylan has a good walkway very good engine good War great and he could box is it gonna be tough to be to be people have always said that they'll help great out handled I am I don't think didn't I don't think anyone really is very close to my me boxing ability me boxing like you and people always had a neglected strength or summer or whatever else so I'm just thinking what more you gonna be like I mean walk around wait strong not right enough not enough fizzy draining my body no more how good it can be maybe I'm not leaving a bit too late to move up but we'll only see on the eighth yeah yeah definitely I think I think it's uh and adds an extra sort of part of the story for the for this one that you are moving up and like I suppose that my next question would be then to Dylan on that Dylan do you feel like there's more pressure because deco's moving up do you feel like that makes you a heavier favor coming in at this point no listen I said again I don't really listen never mind the waste Deco deck was probably heavier than me today you know if taking care already beats me on the 8th of April I'll shake his hand and I would be but a better man and I go home and deal with it there's no there's no weight there's no oh I took Deco lately do you know I mean there's no one taking them lately I signed up for the fight I went away and I'd be there I went away and what happens happens and then uh the last question is is if Katie Taylor can get Crow packed on whether it be in May or in September is that is that a card that would be an all-time for you to get on we'll start with yourself still yeah I think every four year in the country would want to be a part of that um and I think it's fair enough to say whoever wins on the 8th of April and always the Irish title would be would be front runner this is probably my last point my second last fight or it's definitely but it's summer time if I win everything that's me packing in either way um this is the end of me so I'm enjoying to build one joined the boys and enjoy and train as enjoying the train and being back training two to three times a day I'm enjoying it all I don't think you know or either of us is taking a lightly I know he's away in Germany uh I'm on my home flat on a match fan as well so I was just like I'm not thinking past the eighth the eighth is the only the only gold I'm looking at the eighties is in me here the eight is the only date and I need to worry about from hairline and then uh just one last thing just in the build of the fight uh will you guys be doing release any like um training Vlogs or anything like that on the build up tour and we're getting inside of the camp start with yourself still we'll be seeing any video footage of you on the build up um yeah I'm fairly on my own over here so I don't I'll just do the usual kind of you know show people as much as I can but uh again I'm just like Declan the fight's made now I don't really need to blame apparently promoting it as you have to do and sell the fight I'm just hoping for San Diego babe but um but yeah I'll be showing as much as I can what about yourself that will be seeing what's earlier yeah our friend 40365 is there JC JC is the only the name on himself he's doing all the walk he did it we started today for the first one did a 20 a little bit so uh you know what I mean that's the truth between about boxes you know man and and then I suppose just just to wrap things up deal April 8th um how does the void end um look firstly you know Deco it's gonna be a pleasure to share the ring with you I'm really looking forward to the very best of looking camp the 8th of April you know I just feel it's my time declan's had his it's my time I'm absolutely chomping at the base there's no mortgage on the clock and whatever has to be done whichever way the fight goes you know I can go life and death for 10 Rounds you know I don't get tired so whatever needs to be doing on April 8th I'll do it how does April 8th finish oh whoa it would take the wall I'm sick and tired of looking back on all these foods and just hitting the popping and moving around I'm looking forward to getting into the trenches and I'm I'm the one enjoying it like bringing people down to Dublin to support me I don't want to be just bouncing around and pick and fleeing I want to get into the trenches and shovel back I expect the good for free and that's what I want I'm looking forward to and I'm looking forward to leaving all in the ring and walking away from them eight I said I sent you the message saying all respect out the window and I tried to get it look all you have is yeah you never be I was trying to get a bit of Bulls going do you know what do you know what the actual trailer is behind it like I couldn't say I'm bad about to go and I was like I need to not like them you know what I mean I need to get a spike going here and give me a reason to say oh I'm gonna do him you know but he didn't give it to me [Laughter] it works it works both ways listen you've got a set of boys you've always had just bring them with you on the 8th of April you're gonna need them yeah last April 8th it's gonna be live in the C2 Arena and Waterford Ross takes away board yeah and make sure to get your tickets they're definitely gonna go fast there going for that and they'll let you know where to get them but uh guys
