foreign [Applause] today we have the head coach of Team Rhino Mr Andy Rowan and commentator to the Stars the one and only Paul Reds or rabbit Lads how you doing yeah not bad yet unbelievable as roybas unbelievable's got a few new tools on the whip now and he's just he's gone a bit uh trigger happy hour for Christmas absolutely absolutely we have you on here at Scott talk 2023 and uh see what see what the lads have in store but uh looking back on 2022 Andy what was the Hollywood uh for yourself a few highlights Nadine winning the World Championships I think was a big one that was everything yeah and I think it was well from me because they took a step back and because I got the leg going over at covert so I couldn't get over for the first week and I stood back and and I let um Kieran and Jerry do the corner even though I was there I didn't want to upset the team and I think that was a big big part of it and I think that did a great job so that was one and the supercoop super Cooper is really really good um a lot of people don't realize how big of an achievement that was I don't think it's going to happen again the look of the drawers videos where Russia getting taken out of the event and the draw we got with a great team the team was really really good an experienced team and to come second in the super cup it's a massive achievement we were the last rate ranked team you know we've got the robot the device with it with the with the draw was very good so that was the start of the year um and then the Belfast cage Warrior show uh was really really good and and I'll avoids James sheena's had this year you know we've a lot of good kids out there competing winter Leos I don't give a [ __ ] once he's supposed to give 110 down there so you know there was some big big some big big teams for us I think they're they're Irish championships the IMF Forest championships we took a lot of medals we trained really hard for that you know so we've had a good year the whole Year's been really good a couple of guys that didn't didn't probably do what he could have done I didn't didn't believe in himself the way this happened resin we believe them I think um didn't reach his full potential he's very good and he dealt himself sometimes and I think he could have really winning that title in England just here before Christmas and he was great in the tournament you know so he's hot and cold he's one that I think can can make a big big meal big move this year but the whole year has been really good the whole year be honest with you and then uh what what about yourself Reds or uh how would it feel to step into those new shoes uh doing the cage whereas commentary doing the grappling being the best dressed man on the maps in the Polaris I turned down to the damage the other ones that are guys respond air with sponsorship until so everything thanks to them so um but yeah somebody killed a scared on the market and uh I think everyone actually loved the pink uh the pink leopard print because okay I hadn't got it I had my own set of gear going over there from the time he was like blue or something they said no we won't we wanted to wear this if you don't mind putting around us yeah no problem the Camaro showed me that's [ __ ] let's go I have to deal with that at the start of the year I think I'm back on with Polaris maybe a match I think they're running the cards are going to start picking up training nowhere he won't be doing that it was actually over in where we Manchester was it for our James uh really good yeah really good oh he was talking to Paul gallery and then and Graham and buzzing off all of them and uh I was like right enough for him but I would like to do something which is I don't know what it is and then it was sort of left of that we were just messing about and then I was in the boy with a young Adam Derby training away and that yeah a little text came in from Paul Donald he said he had to find something on the Belfast car and then he did it on top was there I thought it was great yeah brilliant uh well we see on on the bikes for Dublin I'm assuming so I haven't haven't been talking to them uh yet um I know they only run there they showed him not that uh the last like the night before so say they just have all the phones off and that you know what I mean and but imagine so uh Andy is that something nice for you to see when you're uh retired for it is now staying in the sport on that making a few Bob doing something Nelson yeah but they sort of annoys me that Reds I didn't doesn't get to to sort of the prayers or the acknowledgment of what he's doing he's fighting every promotion around but for me he was hired dunboy for a couple of my wishes and and I've told them so I'm not the best well not the best team but some of the big promotions because we tell them you know you use certain four years and stuff I do think redso could have gone forward than he did and I think he just got to the edge there where um but it's great to see him on the mic you know what I mean but I still think like taking meritorium this year give them a little blast we'd love to see about as you pay you paid Two Reds are back in there one more time wouldn't you look obviously we'd love to see Rands are back and like I know you're asking rather about the cage Warriors Dublin being on the mic would you be interested in getting on that card reader for One Last Dance right in front of your hometown no look Andrew saying that genuinely does a walk proper um or you can't you can't even draw a job and we've been doing some stuff for the doctor about Malahide and with some platelet replacement therapy in it um got a couple of stem set stem cell injections into it so just sort of sort of waiting on that to heal basically but if I can't get it probably I wouldn't pull I wouldn't do myself just listen then you'd obviously infraction what it used to be you know so I won't agree if I wasn't there if I wasn't healthy uh and we don't understand the back end was a title for it or a big promotion you know came looking we might do something very financially get something else but I mean it's not he's dead the days are going to just take the 40 for [ __ ] getting on the poster you know what I mean [ __ ] that like yeah well the point is the 154 pound belt is more likely going to be vacated by George Hardwick in the build up to UFC London so that was just uh why I put it out there is he signed the UFC you will be it will be sorry he's very good he was from Scotland but this Duncan's from London I think is he yeah it was added if they're one-handed cartwheels flash kicks and all that stuff yeah he was meant to fight the anointed for the belt yeah when he is they signed him an enemy so forever yeah like she'll tell us an 11 or something maybe 2012. he was on farm he was killing everybody him he was really good and he went missing now did he get injured or something happened or what happened to him he seemed to go off the ball because that was a rematch he felt crazy before I thinking 2016. okay one of them yeah but even before that like like 10 years ago he was [ __ ] on the scene killing people you know he was meant to be the next big team because he was trying to match up with Siri that never happened in the 22 he was cage Warriors world champion the Bangladesh on the cruise obviously yeah knock on a like accuse him of anything but Jake had they actually put out a tweets saying that uh arcade Warriors he said that like he was like lacing up his gloves with something hard around them that that was supposed to and he had to get his hands re-wrapped so like I don't know I I don't know what yeah maybe he's got a few uh a few uh dodgy moments that uh he's been he's been there shown by promotions or something I don't know but uh that was a a a seriously accusatory tweet to put out there but if you have to get the military wrapped obviously uh they weren't happy but I think correct me wrong I know unboxing you do but I'm not too sure an MMA and you'd have a better idea you can ask for someone's hand to be rewrapped if you're not happy with them can you well but no no no you wouldn't you'd never see them but the guy is not showing off on them would see them so so when we go to to shows and you always have a hand wrapper there that's employed by these sort of thing but if you do your own they have to check you have to go and get a sign so Bob or someone is there or you know and you go over there and they check them off and they check them you know what I mean so it would be we'll be checked anyway but an official so obviously that's what happened the official wasn't too late and happy yeah they'll definitely definitely not um Andy what what I do want to ask you is Kate Warriors Dublin how many people do you reckon you'll have on on that card because obviously yeah you know Inside the Cage worries you have Paddy Wilkinson Adam Darby uh you always have James Sheen how many guys you're looking to have on there is there anyone who who's not going with them that you'd like to get time yeah concert team yeah I'm going to get a kick in the ass going back on and I'm actually in talks to try and put on an amateur character to start to show off I think it would be great because when they did it before there were some great guys on it you know and then it will it will open up then for some of the amateur clubs and you know sell tickets and get guys on a big card so I'm trying to push that to get 40 40 time but let's see what happens you know but from AGM going on um sorry sorry Andy just interrupt sorry yeah that's actually a really good idea and see if you like the Irish Nationals if you got like the people that are about to play in the finals have the finals on before the cage Warriors card that could be pretty good yeah it could be yeah [Laughter] yeah the problem is that I I think if you start throwing it that way it's I think it has to be you know open to everybody and anybody so you know let's see what happens and I think it's for a promotionally that that is business it's ticket sellers they want isn't it really you know um I'll just leave I'll leave you three Lads alone right I think there is bigger things coming up with the Nationals anyway there's plans for big things coming up late he had that um youth International album which was very very good so I think there is big plans for our national championships coming up and and done in Bell sort of levels or you know levels which is I think lame and them are pushed now oh you sort of took a step back in that whole thing but um I'll still be supportive [Music] Dublin and yeah Adam Derby uh Paddy Williams and hopefully if you get his [ __ ] finger up and come back trying and I'm going to put a post put a post up there from Willis missing if found him toward the team running up returns James has a big tough fight on hasn't been announced yet but we know who it is I think he was not already but we aren't saying anything um it's a big fight and um I'll be really really happy yeah that's that's what that's what we want to see like we want to see one of the longest and biggest cards cage Warriors have ever put on as well like uh Reds you'll remember the bomb days and then you had we call the bombatory Obama Bellator on a combine Jones played in 1940 or something on the card like yeah damn was that everybody got a shot it wasn't just one Club um which is the way bellator's gone there which obviously it's just SPG it's it's the same card every time just get mixed around but that's essentially what you're saying look now clams would have put for me I just think it's better even when they're fighting on the card I don't even when they're looking at it I think it's it's just better when the whole world has all loads of different clubs on everyone's getting a crack at the women probably that's why Luke Bryan Cage one of those roles is the town to give everyone a shot you know what I mean yeah I think as well I think lately Bellator is a great show and then the times we wear around them shows they were good to be honest good exposure and I think there's some great Irish kids not getting a shelter you know they come beyond that because it is you look look at it with the rise and you know forever now it was so unbelievable foilers you know and and we're sort of because we're not on SVG you're starting to get yeah you're not getting the shot on that card which is a bit crazy yeah definitely I don't think any promotion should be tied to a gym I think they need to be they need to like be open to all gyms I think this is number one [ __ ] [Laughter] but uh Andy tell us this you you decided to step down from um yeah coach for Omar this year and what what major leads that decision and there what will that what will your year change look like uh not doing that anymore so I I did that voluntary and I paid me I think one one trip I got me Floyd coming over I paid my own way out all them events well 2000 the end of 2016-17 or jumped in there so I was doing for five years probably and I was actually meant to go around in 2016 but I got food poison so but I took up I sort of took over officially in 2017. and I've only missed a couple of them um true things at home but like I've been there for mostly traveling to all the big events and it just takes up time and you know like this year we're out there with a world Force then we were there for the sitting around with a super cup and then we got delayed over there a little week so it's time I suppose yeah I'm 50 this year so time is is more valuable to me now you know time spent getting things done and I sometimes I find that it puts so much attention and and to you know the Irish team or other stuff you start to lose contact with your own team and then the team ruining on the team ruin the Affiliates like we we have a big group to you know we can concentrate on our own really and push it and I think I I talked to the eye off the bar a little bit like that I I spread myself till 10 you know and but I'll still be there to help them out and I think um Kieran Downs have been taking over it's a tankless job you know I was at a uh one of the shows there I think was in Rome not Rome was it Romania and the fighter hands me the phone and asked me to [ __ ] record and warm and look like hang on a man I'm up here to coach like I'm not hate the hole in what a camera she's warm up you know but some pointers wouldn't that wouldn't have to you know um to respect for it in the economy you know they don't understand you there's an actual coach give them a good time your experience you know obviously the UFC can't do the corner and yet you go to an amateur event and a fighter doesn't want you in the carnival he's not from the club they don't understand that National you know to national team but look 99 of them were very good you know and anyone that was successful was really good uh you know ask your questions and and would walk with you and you know like Lee Hammond only Hammer there um for one of the competitions he got injured and he still wants to come to the squad says there's no problem still turned up you know it's guys like that that were had no problem or but if somebody were going to think the silver stars would open the Green superstar without doing the work you know so I just think I had enough of it um I don't think people realize how much work goes into and I don't think people realize how much lame and Marilyn do if it wasn't for them there will be no I'm and that's the truth they go above and beyond the same would show us they go above and beyond I think it's ridiculous to be honest with you and I always try to pushing that I'm gonna take a step back away from the shows let the shows do it around here you know we just look after I am a type of events it's still much you're doing everything for them and then two goyers do everything you know they're plain silver to tell them and um you know so they take a step back Boris amateur [Music] we weren't dealing with our air individual fighter in the gym you know we were doing it for everybody and to get us recognized and then that was my goal as well you know together is recognizing the pushers and the hit Dem events you know with confidence you know what I mean that's the big thing did you feel like you have to do more for the gym we ended up being there as much and that's how much are we going to teach a couple of classes there a week like and then if I needed the coverage no it's not just me up there just it's the whole team of uh like you know black belts Pro photos it's never just me like you know that's a big thing I do have great support there so I did a lot of traveling this year like Texas Vegas all over the UK and stubborn and they have the sheen stare demonstrating class or Revenue Class A Series of MMA classes Robbie Brandon held up loads of cultures and I will be lost without them you know so so it's it's great for me to have that it's taking a long time to build that sort of culture team but it would be the Arsenal don't forget who I build McCann yeah yeah what do you want to see from Team Royal on 2023 uh amateurism Pros on the MMA side who are you looking forward to seeing get in there uh look to see Jamie bigger maybe go pro um does he have another amateur before he before jumping in I don't know because you know he is good but look how he was saying it sometimes they're kick in the ass to say look yeah we are good enough today uh same with his sister and then I think she is good enough but she just needs to get stuck in a bit more with the train that's being honest and Andy was kicking her ass over the [ __ ] the Christmas when we were up running the hills you know getting sick all over the place up on how thrilled she was something that shouldn't be happening until 2003 just kicking the ass when I was still um I think James Shane it's kind of for you for the cage where he as well the way Championship this year uh at some point I think it's definitely good enough I think what's the other four if we want to streak with him there I think he's only lost in Gary but he's uh he won it and then went after the [ __ ] UFC so um I think here for you for about sometime this year um who else who else I'd like to see costy back um yeah that's about it really Lucas I'd like to see Leo was born on Paddy Martin believing herself a bit more that's two massively talented kids and he don't believe themselves what should they do you know for them tuned into kicking this was one of the news that just you just need to figure out it's not the talent is dead agreed they are good enough yeah very good it's just a thing in their head they just need to figure out for themselves that's all that is Louis Louis is at the super cup and he's fighting the reign of world champion the brand new guy and he [ __ ] was the only fell again before you for the day three rounds battle will you know get gave it to him and it was a tough fight they come over to me and out and said that kid was very good and he lives to someone to fight before that in Australia or something stupid you know what I mean so it's that it's that consistency he needs and uh Paddy Martin little bit believed in it um I think I think Shannon has that you see that certain has that sort of like a human fight they're gonna [ __ ] beat you you know and but he does it in a nice way you know he he doesn't he doesn't do it in a bad way he'll hold the attitude it's a good attitude it's a confident attitude and I think the lads needed to to have that I think they had it a while ago he just lasted this year you know yeah you know what you can almost see it inside and when he was pointed air and like you basically you stare down Christian Barnett for the entire walkout and he was in the zone and like he he knew he was going to put on performance in there yeah he he he does it he does it with confidence but he doesn't do it in a bad way there's no bad void when he does it you know what I mean he does it to reinsure himself you know what I mean thoughts is good uh Andrew how happy were you to see uh Senator Coakley pull up on an alarm bar uh in one of his uh MMA fights I thought it was great yeah because like obviously he's Santa Destroyer but you know what he gets into the game nowadays he rolls rolls rolls like obviously he's you know it's not there yet with all the submissions but he's pulling them out in voids so that's that's brilliant like and do you think that goes back to the confidence Andy then like here's the confidence to go for that submission yeah I think I think what I think as well when he's in a fight some people panic when they're in a fight some people are comfortable fight like they know it's only it's tree trimming around it's not the end of the world here when some people go in there and they train really hard and after two minutes they can't braid because they Panic he started doesn't give a [ __ ] he's in there and he's like he he died he was doing eyebrows and warming up and we'd only be doing that drill in the class during the week and he said I mean I'm rolling mommy back I've seen the armored and I said remember this he's taking all this in the middle of the fight so he's not putting that pressure on him oh I'm in a big fight he was just argument here I think it's it's competition it's like you see Jiu-Jitsu players that are have hundreds of Jutsu foreign yeah I think that I think that's definitely a thing like you know I mean so some of these guys they have all the talent in the world and you hear it all the way up to the UFC level that people like you know they might be the biggest killer in the gym but then when the bright light is showing they don't perform so fullest Talent so um hopefully hopefully they can flip that switch in 2023 and we can see the best for themselves because that's what that's what we want to see for for all the gyms and all the Irish athletes that we want to see yeah the best people go out there and give their best performance and whoever the best man is but as you say and you just want to go in there and see everyone give their 110 yeah yeah we have a big little Squad the squad is trying to rebuild them this year last year and move a big Squad hit this year and look it results I want to be the great start of the year because we're all four to start the year world champion think between the Affiliates number two seven Medals of the Euro championships and then we're taking bells and the D and J Amy belts and then with a bit of a fall down there near the end only for James um keeping things on the programs the captain's sort of up there you know but I think we could be doing a lot more than what we did um do you think uh we are we yourself now totally focused on team Royal do you think there'd be more uh cross training between the affiliate gyms yeah well we always do anyway we just don't we weren't pushing it as much so the lights from dairy come down and armor come down a lot and Solomon's operators are Dublin two or three days a week as well yeah there will be a lot more probably every every four or four weeks to be a session on for the whole team we will be back there on the running which we used to do for years we stopped you know we'll be doing that as well and um like tonight everyone's back tonight and it's 10 Rounds as far as 10 Rounds roll that's what training this to me there's no teaching that's all just getting stuck into starting that year off how we made to go on you know I'm going to punish everyone to me yeah that's it Reds are uh what's called that no no one would you leave before you do the bad cardio should they now the the two teams are used I took away for uh when I was four I was listened it was a team JSP said he said the only time you should ever worry about going down to the fight if you're walking down and if you worry about it means you haven't done enough with your cardio so if you're thinking about have we done enough it means I haven't done enough that shook me an issue going into the for you and Randy or Jordan said uh you can't control if you get knocked out I mean you can prep up as best you can it's the only thing you can control if you go in and prepped into that for you so Fitness is a big thing for me that's an anime for you to never used you know so uh big big big emphasis on that for the last this year London that night like it was for me it was a a free a free night a freak noise for us it was like it was mental like party where it didn't had lost a good bit away it was looking good he got caught what can you do he get caught you get caught dad he got caught your man even had these clothes thrown over and I punch you over the top you know he got caught you got one um David was about established good stuff it's a young boy he's a big career ahead of him what's the point getting [ __ ] dropped and then another shot comes in and give it like a hot Reds or poor story socket and now smash the bits so look that that was a freak night he got knocked out we couldn't do out and about it he couldn't do it about it yeah exactly that's another thing I think for for Adam I think like you know he'll be more wary the overhand right gone four especially in the top yeah you know what he was doing he wasn't himself and they're in that cage and that's why I want to put a bit more time into the gym and he was away a little bit trying and he wasn't Adam's a very nice guy right he's a nice kid he's not a bad kid he hasn't got an attitude so he was trying this thing of staring to go down and standing stuff over to him Adam doesn't do that he doesn't have to do that he's killed sits back and relaxes so he was our character for that for you that [ __ ] up here for you because you're not emotionally attached to him your emotions are taken because trying to say the right climb your emotions down you know so he was he wasn't he wasn't prepped away used he is in that cage and putting up party got caught I didn't mind that you know what I mean but it's it's be yourself don't try to be someone else don't try and be someone else and there will we see uh Paddy Wilson if he returns to the gym we've seen my lightweight next time yeah yeah another thing you know so that kid is [ __ ] Pat is talented those we head and I messaged them all the time getting his ass so you know there's only so much calling you can do but he could go the whole way with a good kick in the ass you know he's knockout power he comes up to wrestling he puts fellas through the bloody flower you know he's a talented kid he just needs to believe that myself because what's going to happen is he's going to wake up all day he's gonna be 40 years of age and he's gonna say [ __ ] it's still late yeah I should have won a quartered by the sounds yeah man yeah sorry are you gonna say something yeah I was going to ask like obviously you went over to the UFC with Dean Barry as well and then after that fight he said he actually wanted to take on the guy uh Prince was the prince that beat party is that something you'd like to see happen in cage Warriors maybe I I deem would need a couple of [ __ ] full of his force and trying to know everything's been all out of high school he has a job and he messaged me now to get I think he's going up annoying for jiu jitsu but he needs to just get back a regular trainer don't have it for you he's another funny that's very talented very talented but you just have to have that a little bit of joy of that's one thing this year and we except red had this discussion during the day we had him on that one I said I said to them I want them out Steven we did 11k Trails up and down Hills I didn't give a [ __ ] if you did 1K you'd run 11k once you're turned up a lot of guys turned up there that day you know and showed me they wanted it we did the same Stevens today with a great room Steven's day you know and it was uh you know people show sorry New Year's Eve and people uh showed he wanted it wanted it you know so Dean has to show me now he wants it so a week I'm going to chat room tonight if he wants to fight and he wants to fight in the cage Warrior show against that guy and he's got to put it out I think he has a bit of big deals come but anyway he won't say it he can ring him and ask him but he's lying to me about a bit of big news coming and I told him well you got to get the finger out you got to get into the gym you gotta start Sparrow you've got to start trying yeah for the bad guy does it ever does never come Point anywhere like he you'd almost have to tell someone no if they don't show up enough that like yeah that's it now that's it now we had this excursion uh Siri and RedZone have been saying to me all day long I've gone too soft because usually I will be a little bit more vocal at the gym with the lads and the last way and put the walking you know or beyond the case yeah like I used to give Reds on Syria terrible time and uh I'd be watching I'd have people else spoiling and my rank steering all day at home to get over the Chinese in in fringless yeah I won't tell you what I would say to them in the gym or but it would be I wouldn't be the noise cinnamon very mellow and nice and reds I will tell you so this year where the things yeah and it's taking his testosterone album so uh need to get them back okay he needs to be back lifting the weights and giving up those things yeah 250k again on on the back you know the great thing is Andy Ryan's back in team Rhino full time and so is the Red Man as well and we kind of wait to see rezer back in the mic in double as well Ross yeah yeah it's going to
