introduced gu man today we have the one and only it is UFC welterweight reys Skeletor mcke Reese it's been a hot minute for us it's been a hot minute for you how are you doing my friend yeah it feels full circle for me to be your first interview back because it's been Soo long since I've done one with anyone so uh it's nice that I'm the person to bring you back to this realm um I'm doing good it's good to get a chat I've change my name to scall guys because that's what the show is really about so when we asked come back on the show did you feel nervous or what always nervous always nervous usually the big usually the big shots night and the Irish MMA so geez Ross clip that one up I'm I'm feeling nervous today Ross I think like we're gonna do a good job that's the question man there's a lot always do a good job we always do a good job but I'm always confident yeah but there's gonna be people tuning in to be like why did we go in Hiatus we'll probably leave that to the air man cuz like like a bit of a teas would not just address off the top uh no man don't don't don't might as well I I I had I had a baby he was in the hospital for a while he's all right now so back back to full health so that's all good and that wasn't enough stress for me so I decided to buy house at the same time so uh between those two things um I was pretty um smashed up with uh stuff like that uh so that's why we had a little bit of a break but we are back and we are back for good um I know a few people have been reaching out just been like when's the podcast come back when's the podcast come back well it's back and back Rees mck you know uh reys tell us this how have you been um obviously your last out and didn't go your way which uh was unfortunate but how have things been since then obviously uh you yourself um H had had your first Father's day as well there uh last week how was that as well yeah it was special um you know Ruby's now seven nearly seven months so well broke into the fatherhood uh Jam which is fun and challenging every day still but yeah Life's good um i' really consistent with my training at the minute that um it's nice because I have no date obviously confirmed nothing and even in the pipeline but I'm I'm in a position now where when they do come for me or ask me to fight I'm in a really good position to to go and you know sometimes as Fighters we can all kind of be caught cold at times and maybe need a bit longer than you you have and we're n and I'm probably for the first time in a long time in a position where like know whenever they come I'm like well on track for for whatever time so I was going to say ree obviously you know we were trying to push for 304 for you you were looking at 304 um as maybe uh potentially maybe that was our fault but um W with that like is is that something that you're you're maybe staying ready for because there's a good few welterweights on that card that uh you know if one did pull out would you be one of the first people to tr their name in the half for that card yeah like um you know obviously 30 or four was on our mind that was close to home but if being totally honest the whole thing like I'm kind of glad not to be attached to it because like you know sometimes when you fight in these shows like it's always been me and Ken it very much becomes like not that you both have to win or anything like that or like not that I really feel anything about it but like I'm happy enough to go solo in this next stage of my career because it's you know I'm on a hard little journey in my career to revamp it so I don't really I don't really nether want to be attached too much till the wave where I feel we all need to win you know at the minute I'm at the stage of my career where I just need a win for myself and my team and and I mean that against you know I'm not turning my back on any other person but I just you know I'm not too bothered about being attached to these big events where it's you know this and that um so I was kind of happy enough that being said I absolutely I'm staying ready in case because there's a lot of Welter weights there and they're all probably fights that I would like and make sense uh and should that happen you know I'm sure they'll give me a call it's very much in my mind that they have maybe been thinking about that too so you know it's about keeping our cards in the right places and should that happen uh should it be the right time the right opponent then it could work yeah I think any one of them would be really suitable as well B would they yeah but like obviously we want to see ree back get back in there re Reese you've obviously had some time to think about your last performance like like what way did you see your UC career ground so far and like do you think you need to change anything going into your next fight yeah it's not been too hot to be honest like you know um it's hard when when you look online and you read you know race 0 and four in the UFC like I I actually I don't have that because I've never lost four fights in a row I had two went and one three world the title twice and then lost two so in my opinion like you know when I look at like my last five fights I'm three and two I'm not 0 and 0 and four you know what I mean so I feel like there's lack of context in the UFC World however that doesn't really matter to me because I know the crack I know the I know the story but it's been frustrating um I think when we really look at in paper like you know not to bring any other names of who people have fought and stuff but all the guys that I have fought like are in the like pretty much in the rankings or there are thereabouts like youve Hamza who is obviously it's a weird situation Morano still taking massive fights um Lua like right up there and then chitty like we don't know what ched's going to do at witer right now so I F all good guys they're all still there in the UFC like a lot of these other guys have been gift it like non UFC fighters for their UFC fights where I've fought UFC fighters from the Geto so that stands by me and I know like in my head that like that will always stand by me so it's not been great you know I have lost my four fights there but it's hard to believe and hard to say it but like it doesn't dishearten me at all I know that when I wear a UFC t-shirt I fought UFC guys um and I know this whole story can be be turned around as we said earlier and discussed the vocabulary the MMA world is fickle and one win and everybody you know has then pushing me towards rankings like the whole thing will change in one performance yeah I'm just I'm sorry just yeah the second part of that question was like what would you sort to change or like is there anything you change like nothing ever changed like and this is the thing it's not I'm not good enough for these guys me and uh Kum K lman said the best the best thing I've heard like from a Fighter's mindset is UFC and cage War isn't different but there is UFC reps and spending time in a UFC cage so the more minutes you've accumulated in the UFC cage stands by you massively so for example when I fought like cherry or morono um like they have so many more minutes than me in that cage um you know what I mean so that that does sound for something doesn't mean I would take a lesser opponent doesn't like that but I want I just want air crack of the whip now it's like give me the guys that all these other guys are getting and watch how much of a revolution I've changed my game it's not the truth but just because people are being matched with each different guys they're looking like World beaters like when they're not like to be honest they're not but I'm not better against them at all that's the chance they've got um I wouldn't change anything is the short answer to your question yeah well look we'll obviously get into the next part like about going training with Michael ven page who's obviously a UFC fighter is that something you'd like to do like go and train with more like UFC athletes as well yeah for sure like um to get the chance to train with MVP like you know I've been I've known from about MVP from day do like when I started training um he's number 12 or 14 in the world at the minute like so for me it was like I like a great opportunity to go over and train with him a great opportunity to learn from him spend time with him like just get just see what he's about and um you know he's a hell of an athlete and a great person yeah like that's that's that's where it's at and like just to touch on your previous point about like on four I never recall on for I'd say like like it's 0 and two because it's like this current run is what matters like like you I mean like going back years before someone's previous run is like sort of that's it's actually so long ago it's actually bit relevant to be honest in my opinion so and like it's not like against an L like you know mean like you actually almost like ran out of time as opposed to actually like like he beat you as opposed to like as the kid say if that was on the street you know what I mean like you know Reese mcke Rees mcke was like on the way to on the way to uh Victory no bother like come me and then like they're not obviously ham up finish me a we bit different but like what was that like 12 days notice like halfway across the world I'm going to give myself credit was six but like um Morano like spent 15 minutes with Morano L and ched like that's 45 minutes of UFC like yes they lost the fights but no one's put me away they're not like they're not walking through me you know so it's all GNA stand for me no absolutely and I feel like morono as well is like constantly ranked between 20 and 15 like like he doesn't really like the odd time he'll come in at 15 and then like someone else will fight and actually like he'll actually get knocked out with the rankings due to like someone entering them as opposed to him being like getting his number taken but uh yeah like like like you say you've definitely fought UFC caliber and uh look we just want to see you get in there and get it get it get another crack at it because like like you say like you're at the level there and like we can't wait to see you get the opportunity to show that after you you've got you've got your reps in now and let's let's see the the best version of Skeletor that we're going to see um tell us this when you with MVP obviously it's training and you don't want to like devolved too much into training and I assume he part of the reason he brought you there was to do some sort of imitation of being G Gary whether it was just physique wise or whatever else but uh how did you find it was like sparring against him because obviously he's such a unique style yeah like I mean obviously you know like obviously I was there to be a sheap of Ian but they never asked to do one thing they never asked me to to throw a certain thing or act a certain way it was none of that at all um and London ship feds somewhere I went before for Alfie Davis back in the day so and the hospitality and stuff was fantastic like they look after her so well and I obviously fought Jimmy and actually seen Jimmy when we were there um but like yeah like MVP is everything that people think he is he's an absolute puzzle he's uh he's you know so good at what he does he's so crafty he's so experienced as well so it was hard work like it definitely was hard work and anybody that's training sh Fighters know you go to Sho Fighters and you get hard work it's not you don't go there for touch you don't go there for light round so it was um it's a lot of hard work but for me like I wanted to see how I fared how I I wanted to try and work it out like you know I said to the coaches over there like on the way over I was watching I was watching his fights trying to pick up and stuff like I was trying to see if I could get the stuff off that being said how you see see him in front of you is not how you movie see him in video um and I think that's the biggest problem MVP has like you know on video and like you could maybe watch him be like Oh I'm going to do this this and this and it's not really there when you're in front of him as much um you know he's he's very he's very smart very crafty is is it true that the that London Chief Fighters Camp wanted to wear a blonde wig and you're like no I'll just bring Jordan O'Neil instead oh I don't know get these on liners but they're fantastic what to say to that but no so H Jordan was King for some training me and Jordan you know obviously big training Partners here at home and uh he couldn't face me being away for a few days so he's like can I just come with you and I was like well if you really want you can yeah yeah shout out to Jordan as well the new the new superstar in cage wars in the middleweight division jumo yeah uh ree right you're youve youve obviously now spared and trained with MVP so you're going to have to like let us know what you think of this situation Ross thinks the MVP will knock out in Gary and I think Ian is going to try and wrestle MVP and win by decision what way do you see it go like so for me it's I see it you know if Ian can set his ego aside and go out and try and win the fight it'll be very interesting fight if Ian goes out and tries to be MVP what we would all call M VP game is the Striking realm then I think it's going to be a hard night I think the reason why is because I believe MVP will get his read before Ian does because Ian's a more conventional style where MVP is not a conventional style he's movies like that point fighting style so he's very hard to get a read on um I found myself when I was sparring him I was just throwing shots hoping that he would be there at that time that being said Ian will be well prepared he'll have a game plan he'll have something in his head of course so you know I'm I wasn't fighting MVP I was sparting him um but that being said MVP is a good game plan too so let's just see like it's hard I'm goingon to I'm not going to sit in the fence as such I will give him a prediction if you want but um I don't think it's just I think there's a lot that could change in the fight so what's the answer yeah being I think I think MVP will get his chance first and I think if he gets it he'll take it I think he's done it too many times and he's fought really high level and beat really high level uh so yeah I think MVP will take it to be honest um I don't think it'll be easy though yeah R sorry if I threw you under the bus there did I well no it's just one of those things where like obviously you sort of think what's Ian's game plan going to be and you feel like obviously he's over training with you know Charles Olivera and Damen Moya and he probably thinks he has the grappling Advantage but I find it's actually I was trying to think of how would even get in without getting hit on MVP and I feel like one of the hardest things to do is actually get a hold of MVP if you can get a hold of MVP he might be able to get some work in on them although like I do feel like MVP's jiu-ju game is underrated but like I feel like getting in there and I also feel like MVP is going to have the speed Advantage despite the fact he's like what late 30s now or whatever like I've never seen someone faster than him and like he's so Elusive and he's so win out that like and we also saw I get clipped against Keenan song as well so I'm bit like is that is that something that mvp can exploit now obviously we saw MVP get clipped against Lima but uh I feel like that was a a very like unique scenario where you got clipped yeah that's why it went so viral MVP is down fast and I think a lot of the stuff that stands but by MVP is like he's fought uh lur twice you know I went and watched I watched their first fight and watched their second fight and you know I feel like he made really good improvements in that so like he's a smart fighter too he's not he's just not like he's not thrown anything by chance um yeah and like yeah it was a really good experience for me I'm excited for the fight like and I'm really excited to I'm going to go back and train with the GU so um I just feel like we made a good connection there with that team so exciting there's some lovely fights in that division as well for MVP like if he wins like obviously he'll probably move ahead of Wonder Boy but like Wonder Boy is obviously a matchup that every want see although like I feeling if that actually played out it might not be what fans are expecting it might not be this beautiful thing it could be very boring and then also uh Jack D melan as well will be another lovely uh fight to see H MVP in like there are two two ones that I think will be absolute bangers like I I think this fight with Ian could be not that exciting to be honest like I think it could be very much a point scoring fight with I just don't know I I don't think it's going to be the barn burer that a lot of people expect them I think it'll be a fun fight for people that understand the sport for people who don't will be just why don't they just stand and fight where whatever um I think the excite there is exciting fights there for for MVP the H JDM fights F I'm not going to even try and say his name uh there's a lot of fun fights there for him there's a lot of sleeper fights in that division 2 that I've noticed like Shan is someone that I think sea Brady's one of the nightmare fights in that division for anyone yeah he is I feel like he doesn't carry the the name recognition at the moment though Sean Brady for whatever reason he's he's not maybe it's his style he hasn't really connected with the fans as much yeah like his his game is so good like his Grind game I don't know who he beat last but maybe Michaela was it he like took him down and just smashed him and it was I thought like he be of a hard boy to stop yeah it was gastam last week gam yes he well gastam Lo lost a bit of P after this last week but still down and do that I don't know what was more disrespectful gastam this week or was a ham at when he fought when he end up fighting Kevin Holland I don't know which was like worse where like like Gast just show up me went yeah I'm a bit fat this week so like you know you know I feel like they both got byy balls that they probably shouldn't have got but the fight still happened um gam won didn't he yeah he did yeah although d got like a new six F contract and like a big bump in pay it's just it's frustrating because like as D D Rod like yes you're a fighter and you want to fight but you literally changed at the last minute to suit your opponent then you picked up a loss yes you picked up a new contract and more money and stuff like that was fantastic but wins and losses yeah it's it's just one of those ones where you're like I feel like if it if that wasn't in Saudi Arabia I don't think it would have went down that way but I feel like I feel like the Saudis have such like a say in what goes on in those events that like they're like you have to make that fight still happen so therefore like here's extra because I'm sure drog got got a brown envelope as well to be like here you go I think he got home 30% of Kevin G Kelvin gum's purse as well which I'm sure Kelvin gum's on more money than he is because he's been around for a very long time yeah he's been there a long time so um yeah yeah but to fly all that way and then not fight as well is a bit like yeah that's like and you know what me and shando actually talked about it that last fight like you know we didn't have much concentration on on ched's weight but should ched have come in and missed weight after come the talk like we were in a position where like if he missed way we would afford him because he's the middle way you know why why would I be giving him an advantage when I have done what I needed to do regardless it didn't happen but like yeah but like I think I think it's different when like Kelvin gastam like just across is lazy like just like he also he also released like a video afterwards and called it like missing weight or something and he ate a load of food which I just thought was like just like real disrespectful or something uh but like um I felt with like if you're finding someone like chitty then like you're fighting someone who's never made the weight therefore like it's you're actually just fighting a middleweight at a a catchweight as opposed to Kelvin Golam can definitely make wel like he could make welterweight his whole career like he's just not disciplined like you can just see it in him like even you can see in his physique like he's not someone who's shown up like shredded or lean like he's shown up like with a bit of an egg Kelly on him like it's it's just it's sort of shocking because he actually has all the talent in the world as well yeah totally yeah I agree sure he brought Adan to the absolute Brink and then like yeah you know what I mean like figh on a way class up like and like the so is that head as well like like absolute chin on Mill yeah B you blame Mill have to give him a shout out because he gives out when we don't give him shout out is he always like that in the gyms oh he's he's the biggest diva ever I know you call me a diva but I I think we call you one s sarcastically Reese but uh yeah he is he is anytime we're talking about uh we have the F Lads on and we're saying oh this person that person if you don't say his name like he's straight in the DMS straight in the DMs what about me lad what about me there's a few people straighten DMS every show man yeah yeah we we leave that for the the x-rated version of Eno um Ross where are we going after where we we well I think we're talking about uh talking about Divas we might as well talk about fo's biggest diva who uh fought this weekend uh big news Paul Hughes uh down Bellator made the debut H how proud were you of them uh to get that moment hold hold on can we bring it back to can we bring it back to Paul actually signing with pfl and bellour over the UFC of course yeah like uh like re re obviously like the Pinnacle for all MMA fighters they all want to fight in the UFC like the the average fan of the sport would call MMA they'd call it UFC like I mean that that's just the way it works you know UFC bro yeah exactly like not not people think the sport is called UFC like when you're like like obviously we we can go into more about money and pay and all that sort of stuff which is like 100% understandable but like when it when it came to the Paul choosing pfl and Bellator over the UFC were you surprised um like so me me and Paul had a discussion about this many times and uh as a fan I wanted to see Paul in UFC only because for one reason I believe Paul will be any lightweight in the world that he step step across to I I want to see him as the UFC champion however he's on a path that's very different so like he's like so do you ever see one of them Graphics where like there's two paths and one the paths is the one that's walked loads of times and there's one guy that has to cut his own path so as an MMA fighter we've already done that and we're already down the one that nobody walks we now he's had to do it again and I think I think that motivates him too like and I said this to him I I think he's changed Irish MMA forever because he's showing a different path um to go like so for say for me and Norman for example we were going to the UFC and we're only showing One path where Paul's come out and goes you know what there's another path pfl bellor and I think that motivates him he's he's GNA he's leading the way and leading the charge in that in that way um that being said the the money side of things is massively important Paul's at a very hard start of his career with injuries and um he's all in you know he's he's he's moved home he's he's traveling cly he's doing everything he's ever needed to do and the man deserves his break and he deserves he deserves Bank he deserves H credit he deserves all this stuff so I like if Paul was happy fighting in cage conflict and and he was getting everything he wanted then I'd be happy for him because he's that good a guy he just deserves he just deserves whatever he wants if that makes sense yeah I like I think we're probably the same want them to sign to the UFC because like feel like he would get the Superstar treatment that like I think it would come quick and fast I think it would be a Patty the bodyy style uh rise from you know what I mean like the Irish would all get behind him and like I feel like he he'd make his name and Mark very very quick in there and I I I can understand the whole uh pfl bellor thing first of all like I just want to say this that like I hate that they are running two separate promotions but the same like like it actually just like I just don't get it I don't understand I know maybe it's some sort of weird contractual thing that they have to you know fulfill but like I just think it's it's just a weird thing that they're doing because like they just having pfl Fighters fighting Bator Bor Fighters pfl makes sense just to give you a bit of because I F this too and I always I didn't like this and I said this to Paul didn't say that I didn't like it but he mayie no I um but I do like it now because it gives him the opportunity to compete so much more so he's he's signing for pfl and his his eyes on the the global big tournament the million pound winner um but now he's the opportunity with Bellator to fight twice before that and make all the money he wants to make get two performances stay nice and fresh rather than just wait so I agree it is a bit of a messy product in terms of like it's a Bellator a pfl but at the end of the day Paul uh sleeps at night no one he can fight twice before the big tournament get paid twice before the big tournament and then go in and win the tournament so if that doesn't change your opinion on it from a fighter point of view and a fan of Fighters then yeah change I'm I'm happy for the consistent shows I just don't know why they don't call it just pfl Challenger Series and just being the name Bellator agree I agree with that part because when pfl acquire Bellator then it's all pfl but yeah it is a bit strange yeah no I just I just think it like it misses the mark so much on like for the Casual fan to actually get invested and understand what's going on like I feel like you have one fighter one place another fighter another place and then they're back back here back there it's just back and forth and like it doesn't make any sense and then like like like they do small things that like growing some gears like you see like on the pfl cards it goes former Bellator fighter like underneath I'm like I'm like I'm like you don't need to tell someone they're a former Bellator F like that doesn't actually mean anyone anything to anyone and then I felt uh also like when they had pfl the European series and naan Kelly at the top of the bill and then when they were doing this Bell Tour card here he was the third fight of the night and then like we moaned at him so much that like he got moved bumped up the card to like five or six fights from from from the end but it's just like they seem to make like very sort of simple mistakes like if you're like I feel like if you pick someone as main event and you're going with them well then like don't put them like second fight of the night CU that means it means like you know what that F has no star power back to the prelims like that's that's that's what it says to me you know what I mean and like obviously Nathan Kell's won 11 fights in a row now so I'm a bit like I feel like sometimes they're on point like some of the stuff they do like the content they produce is brilliant but then like they fumble the bag like Ray EO oh we saw him P it's like mate like come on now I like Paul 's voice note me being like take down that announcement like I feel like we were one of the only people he told that he told loads of people like that's not true he didn't say that to us because we knew it was true he was like he he was like he was like they have loads of stuff coming out had Sky Sports all week he gave us the lowdown on what actually happened and then we like deleted the post and then put it back up at a later stage but like yeah I feel like look obviously he adds a massive amount to the Irish Market I suppose one definite massive benefit is pfl or Bellator pator whatever you want to call them they come to Ireland quite a bit so therefore he will get the opportunity to fight there and I wouldn't be surprised if they actually brought one of their million dooll events to Europe maybe to Ireland or to the UK uh as part of the season because at the end of the day like there's some like big stars that they have now like brenon lch like Paul Hues that like you they could definitely do a European leg of the World Series or whatever whatever way they want to call it um I I find it funny that they call that over here the Champions League of mixed martial arts but then it's not in Europe so like Absol rans me B what are your thoughts on that jesz we're going on [ __ ] age there but I think I think Bellator the brand has been ruined in Ireland over the last few years as time has gone on like leading like w without Paul signing there but he didn't even sign with them he sign with pfl like it's very very okay right myself Ross have the largest MMA like audience for people that create content in AR right and then the a lot of them would be like casual fans so they just want to sort of know what's going on so the way you have to sort of overe explain things even what channel is going to be on uh why this is not on this and that is not in this like you're losing people straight away like re M UFC done you know what I mean it's not like oh but he then the amount of people that got in touch with us that that felt so like disappointed that Paul went to the pfl obviously look Paul needs to get paid we heard how much got paid with cage Warriors which is an absolute disgrace like I mean like that contracted like why did he sign that we'll never know but well that it was probably to get into the UFC but then to see that like to go to the pfl for a money A lot of people are like that're like they they've not not everyone obviously but like he would got double the hype for this most reent fight if it was in the UFC I think a lot of people were just like people like to see the rise and then once you make your final decision like are you going left or right then when they see you're going to something they're not as interested in they they'll like tail off um going back to Bellator in Ireland the way it first came when Peter creedy fought mes price mes price won well price didn't get a chance on the mic and then I Peter cre was pushed ever ever since and the way it was only just like a pfl show sorry only an SPG show they me the people in the whole entire country that like just didn't want to watch and which was understandable and myself and Ross covering it we saw that people just really didn't like interacting with the post that we put out about Bellator but look myself and Ross try to be like the Sky Sports News of of Irish MMA um then even the likes like Kieran Clark not fighting on the most recent events H Paul Hughes obviously is now after saving the day but uh if you look at Nate Nate the grey Kelly people are giving out about the the am the amateur like he's an amateur and he's getting absolutely slated for not fighting other people I mean like the Bellator pfl are clinging onto this guy like even the post fight interviews they're asking Conor McGregor what you making Nate the grey Kelly the CHS an amateur like like relax um then you look at Nathan Kelly who headlined pfl as Ross head then he was like basically buried on the undercard like that made zero sense and we were on to him we were like like obviously he can't say it yeah you know where your Bread's bed you can't like jump in and be like why I'm toy getting this but he Paul's after basically taking his spot on that sort of like the Irish guy um DK Kelly ranked in the top 25 in ESPN for the biggest prospects in MMA like he the F he absolutely demolished this guy like same thing with Nathan Kelly the F he fought shouldn't even been in there with him same thing with Dara fair play to schnake hav she fought like but like schnake havav is 38 and she fought aren blano for the second time was 41 like uh schnake hav probably should have been fighting Li Court for and another thing was why isn't leam MCC there doing post for interviews the way she is normally that's very interesting and then like the way there meant to be pfl battle tour meant to be the co-leaders but the whole time they had a camera on Connor the whole time like Connor was there as a fan I know con they had Connor cam Ross text me as Connor arrived and he's like do you think they'll they'll show Connor during the fight I was like yeah they'll probably give him a boost into the cage but they actually gave him his own camera the whole entire time for the h schne fight for the Paul fight and then also for the main EV Jackson against noraga mov I'm no offense of pfl or Bellator but like the Irish MMA scen do not care about anyone else bar the Irish Fighters really like I mean but a lot of them fights were all gimme fights and if you want to be a co-leader in this in this fight scene you kind of have someone who's actually G to smash someone in round one every fight because H the amount of fights that were just finished straight away because uh the SC don't care about other fight is bar the Irish but especially when you're just bringing it to one gam and I'll this as well why is Paul Hughes the only person from F that's going to be involed on that card like I mean there have so many PE there's so much uh top quality fighters in Fai like that is the reason why people are most talking about Fai as the gmtb at and viewing and this that and the other but they only how Paul using that and the way shano got in contact with pfl Bellator to try and get another fighter on and he was just absolutely shown I think it's an absolute disgrace so that's why myself and Ross like we were told about events we were invit like we we were told we were going to be getting given certain things going to these events and then when we got there we were just shunned so there that's another reason why we don't go to these certain ones as well so I mean like if you don't look after the people the people can see through the [ __ ] I think myself and Russ like we promoting these vents because like that's what we do but like when it comes to under it all people see through the [ __ ] and like like it's not it's not as if we don't stand for anymore because we're obvious going to tune in and support the orang fighters because it's not about them because they they need to get paid they can't stand up and say in but it's more like we're not going to be going to certain things if like they're not looking after things the right way like and jeez the en show are back dropping true bombs left right we haven't done a show in a war man I need to get that off my CH when you can do a video cast huh but it's just it's just people like people want to know about the U right that's that like myself R became mive fans like the first ever event we went to was UFC Dublin like Connor obviously winning the main event the thing was a mad scene that was 10 years ago myself started a podcast after and now were like like doing this [ __ ] I mean like we love supporting these fighters on their Journeys but the way then you then you have to criticize all like we think like obviously Reese you getting thrown in there first against Hamza and not being looked after after is a bit of a disra like certain Fighters are getting looked after but like that's not that that's not their fault right then you look at like the cage Wars cage Warriors aren't paying these guys enough money like John kav and gra B need to make up and allow fighters to go and fighting that and also the cage warri fighters need to get paid more and like cage Warriors Fighters need to be fighting better Fighters as well like there's too much people who uh are sort of getting gim fights there as well I think that nearly in every organization there's a lot more gimme fights like back in the day you had to fight Reese H sorry Richie smallen you you I mean like like that like that was a qualifi I know ended up being a draw but like there's just these best draw Ever best draw Ever if you ask me but like it's going a lot more boxing ways like even like if you look at like your cage I there's like matchup there that like should be being made uh you could say about all them I think there's not all the or may cards though I think I think it's just a lot going that way just come back to pfm Bell T they need to get more Fighters and more jyms on we had Dan Hardy on we had James fre and on we told them this they didn't go they didn't listen and then Chando who has like the biggest star in their organization like like you could argue maybe a Bren l n or in the Europe in Europe and they're still not listening to shando I just think it's an absolute disgrace and like like it needs to be called out but you I think I think sorry to interrupt I think the reason why there's been this massive investment in sbgs because they had all the star power with Connor and have it and had it but so they wanted to attach anything towards that gym and the hope that maybe Conor's there or the hope that it's I think now that Paul has done what he's done and is making he making then it's going to force that now to be Fai so any year we could all be sit and being like Oh it's only fa allowed in these shows because they've got Paul and Paul that won't happen that won't happen re it like it won't but like that's how I would see like that's how I would like if it was in a different if it was in a different position that's what it would look like um that being said it wouldn't yeah you're right it wouldn't happen um oh well then maybe they just bring it back to Bast the whole time then yeah sorry another thing as well another thing tour went to Belfast and didn't have anyone from F on the card I know like that's that's Lally coming into coming into your G taking a [ __ ] and not having a flush see you later the reason the reason I don't like belor um or the reason I haven't really watched Bellator I only ever watch it if I know someone but most of the fights are dummy fights um there's so many F like I'm I'm taking nothing away from anybody Irish Northern Irish wherever you're from like but if you're fighting someone that I know you're going to be I ain't watching it like like know certainly that you're or like you know I'm not watching any gimi fights um but the live odds were coming up on the Bellator watching the fights and like the the disparity in like most most Fighters like one to 10 toly like one to 10 that's the thing that's what pfl need to watch out for because Bellator have already like just destroyed their name here right but I mean pfl haven't yet and but I like the way they go to other events you have your like Dylan tokes you have uh there's obviously loads of you have John Mitchell uh there is other people as well but like they have to make sure that they do not do this and make it just an SBG show nothing against SBG a lot of great fighters in there but the thing is then you may as well be having just like uh it just be it just may as well be what what what were people calling it SBG a tour or what like I mean you need to get everyone on this to bring all the gyms together the way cage Warriors do it the way they have all the gyms in the background your Foo your ryos uh your team Torres is your team kfs and like it it feels like Irish ma is doing something rather than like here again just to promote SVG with Paul U's fighting on that card people who have watched Paul U's fight previously as all as the as they call themselves the big news crew whatever uh they they're used to getting like basically whoever went that fight out of from Fai PID they 50 60 whatever quid to see Paul use F and Paul use alone they're actually used to getting seeing like maybe a Paddy mcari maybe a Matthew Elliot and you're used getting like three to four FAA fighters on a card and then you're you know what I mean like whatever your sort of your title fight your main event same when you were fighting as well Reese you get three or four Fai Lads on the card and then you know the main event Reese mcke with with this one now like you've actually given the like obviously it's a bigger stage it's a bigger Arena but you've given them like less of a version than they're used to like I feel like someone like just a and Dean would be a great signing for pfl and Bellator I feel like he'd be someone who people would love to see in there like he's got a great style and like if you want to give if you want to make someone look good and give them a gimme matchup like there you go like you know what I mean like we're talking to about Aon on Sunday and you know the thing about Aon Aon will be a lot of like really good guys like Em's Em's fantastic like it's going to be someone that people will underestimate definitely but um yeah you're right like give Eman I'm trying to I don't even want to say names because I don't know who signed the what but like there's people there that are unsigned Pros that are ready to go like you know and and right they should line the thing with the the Fai guys they should get guys from other clubs in they should make it the whole show like if if they really want to do it different they have to do it differently than it's ever been done and what Beller Bor have done in Ireland is has [ __ ] the whole show to be honest so AFL are going to have to fix it yeah but I feel like there's also a few sort of Legends waiting in the wings who if they were offered like a decent payday they would still fight like I'm sure I don't know whether he's signed or not to anyone I know he's done some mad stuff but like just say Norman Park like was the stop you get Norm Park versus red Paul red and reds are two on a pedor show as Maybe home main event pay them a decent enough amount and they probably both definitely do it you know what I mean like like you know what I mean what's doing like give you give you a f and what's what's stopping you also getting like Peter quy mes priz too you know what I mean like these some of these fights that like you know what I mean like give some of those guys who like definitely have one more left in them like a swan song in front of their home home country you know what I mean like there's a few things that they could be doing that people will be interested in give them some of that Irish on Irish violence and like you know let's see what's let's see what's going down down like you know what I mean but like there's like you say there's plenty of Pros in Ireland who are I I think quite a lot of people have like one fight deals with cage Warriors that like you know I mean why can't they just do a one fight deal with pfl or B Tour you know I mean uh and continue that but again like you know I mean like I just think like you said some of the matchmaking I think has them great like all like Derk H fought there at the weekend you know like B said he was in the ESPN's top 25 under 25 really nice guy the mville merer and yeah this is nothing against the fighters man this is against definitely not I couldn't tell you one of his opponents and I've watched all five of them you know what I mean h like there was like Kieran Clark was fighting and I know he's dropped down to bite but like I think he fought like when he was 2 and0 he fought of had who was like8 and one then he fought of had was six and one then he fought of had was 5 and three like as he got his record went up his opponent records went down and I was like I was like what is going on here I was like I was like this guy's actually fighting people with worse records now it doesn't necessarily mean like their worse Fighters but like to the Joe soaps in the home there's and like they look up Kieran Clark on topology and see like 60 7 no 8 no n no and then like the other person's record going down you're gonna be like what's that all about and then also they're also fighting people who like Kon Clark if he's N9 and0 N9 and0 in Bellator should he not be like fighting someone on the cusp of a ranking in bellor if the ranking still exist or should not be fighting you know someone we've heard of if that makes sense I know and I think I think the problem with me and and the whole matchmaking thing is there's people out there fighting the think the real hard fights all the time getting as much credit as someone fighting an idiot like and I take OT with a pinch of salt I don't mean that but like it's whenever you're watching people like literally beating someone who's never want to fight and then they're going on their things and doing whatever and getting like all his props as if they' beat a former world champion like like like again nothing against the fighters definitely not against the person that lost the fight because they're only trying to get their shot too but like some maybe the coaches need to sit from the outside in and be like listen this is what's Happening Here this isn't right it's not going ahead there has to be like some type of commission to to get rid of these [ __ ] matches but oh I thought there was going to be serious improvements when Dan Hardy stepped in but I I'm yet to actually see them I thought Dan Hardy was going to like sort a lot this out but I I I've seen him he's obviously instrumental in like recognizing talent and having some Talent signed like like you see your Paul Hughes like we' seen like Chanel D sign and like guys of that elk and like obviously you know we' seen like Nathan Kelly reign mind like like a lot of these are down to Dan Hardy and like obviously he is doing good work but like I want to see more competitive matchups like obviously Nathan Kelly now 11 wins in a row you know I mean like why isn't he fighting someone on like a World level thing they also know that if these guys come and lose in Dublin and then I say we go like 0 on five over the weekend that like the half that Arena want to come back again next time as well so they're like obviously they're there to try make money but like yeah but bz these guys aren't getting an opportunity to fight outside of Dublin it's like no no that's the thing that'sa or the SSE or you can [ __ ] off that's what they're being told they're not actually like they're not being brought to Paris they're not being brought to Milan they're not being brought over to the States oh no and that's that's that's the annoying thing about it and that's why certain people see as much as we're like why aren't they bringing more why aren't Bellator pfl sign more fighters from different gyms a lot of the people don't want to fight in there as well because they have to only for a home and like I mean Kieran clar has fought in the tree Arena he's performed there more times than you too like yeah but like then also like uh we actually talked about this off there um Ben Willis was three and0 when he fought Nicola anovich and like I just thought like I understand Dan Hardy was like oh we're trying to keep Ben on the card and obviously you know I mean like Ben not fighting means Ben doesn't get paid and I'm not out here to slate Ben but like you build him as this like World kickboxing star and then I felt like on the broadcast they were trying their hardest to try and like say Ivanovic is good and like he's a game opponent but like no offense him but he's 0 and7 he coaches himself he manages himself like there needs to be someone an intermediate in between to be like that fella can't fight anyone anymore like as it was that fight yeah well here look I I know we're talking look I know we're saying all this as well but like also when Paul got put against Bobby King first of all I was like who's this guy like and then second of all he's 40 and like I know things were said that he's fought a lot of high level competition but when I was looking at his record I didn't notice any of the names so I mean you can also say stuff about that as well yeah there is obviously people going to be listening to this now ree is saying this was probably going to be a cal cal show but like I mean there people are probably going to be listening to this now and then be like well look Paul F this guy and like in fairness Paul Paul like he said after he didn't perform well I mean I think everyone saw that but I mean you also have to be mind this was a big occasion for him as well and like you're like to your ATI ATI other people lost in their debuts for these big organizations so well the thing we can say about Bob is like we know he brought it to Paul um yeah and that's like obviously I'm his teammates I'm going to defend them to to my back but um some of the other guys like [ __ ] it's just listen nor against b w I used to watch all the little videos thought they were great but I just signed out when you're fighting like no offense to Evanovich but like what we was the fight at 135 145 yeah something like that maybe 135 actually I feel like vanov had to could out wa as well like there's lit literally guys from Fai that could have done that and that that's the issue why why are like why are they not getting the opportunity that they deserve that they would have been more ready for than Ivanovic based on record I don't know listen would have been an absolute stylistic nightmare but like Matthew Elliott would have been perfect for that similar enough record like like perfect for who though perfect not perfect for pfl perfect for yeah 100% but that's the real facts of the game have been perfect for the business so it didn't make sense they need they need to start coming in with a ranking system as well there's two there just a lot of times these shows go down in Dublin and then it's just like uh SG Fighter versus X fighter like and it doesn't matter who that guy is like I mean fair play to the SG fighter they promote that person more than Bellator or promotes the per the the their opponent and then like they always come in fight one fight and you never hear them again it's l in and out in and out in and out you know what like I will say like all the critics I'm not even actually criticizing SPG like obviously they're they're to look after of their own as well it's it's the promotion has to realize that the sport is bigger than one gym in the country and they need to Branch out that little bit F further like you know what I mean like look at like they had John Mitchell fighting like obviously fighting at Dubai but like he WS him May cork as well but like maybe go down and look and be like oh maybe we'll sign Paul Bley he's turned Pro now he's he's out of M cork get a bit of a cork audience you know I mean how how come they didn't go for T tan lock around as well I know he's fight he's in Amsterdam yeah he's he's in lfl so yeah but maybe yeah but I think tan like that was the route he wanted to take I think he wanted to fight once or twice in the UK and then fight maybe in Europe once or twice before he goes and looks any further but uh Ju Just to finally just wanted to touch on uh Bobby King versus Paul like obviously Bobby King abely brought it to Paul on the night like like like maybe on paper like I think people were giving Bobby cream maybe more or Bobby King more credit than he was uh je not Bobby green Bobby King H but like I suppose on the night like it was a good matchup because like he he he brought it to Paul um obviously you know he was an experienced guy but uh look Paul Paul uh as he said he went for the knock out and I was really I really like the way Paul was like not my best performance but look you got the job done and that that's all that mattered but uh yeah it it's just one of those ones where I don't know what they're doing still carrying the name Bellator because I actually think it's actually Bringing Down the brand of pfl because I still think people see Bellator up here and then pfl down here so therefore they've bought this brand that's better and then there're still running that brand that's better and that makes their own brand look worse he just called the whole thing uh the big bigs Big news M that's the thing about it like see to be honest like my opinion on Bellator and pfl is irrelevant because I wanted tun in really to watch Paul um exactly Paul's not gonna Paul's not gonna be slowed down here like no I don't know if he will be slowed down so like Bobby King causing him a bit of adversity yeah fantastic like it's great but like anybody watching that like I knew Paul I I had a checky bet on the second round for Paul because Paul he bre people down and then he breaks their heart and that's just how it goes like um he's just he's just he's he's just the man like he he's he's just a man I seen uh Shadow done a video saying about how nice he is but how vicious he is and and that's that that's it so you know I think once he got to once he got to the back to the corner and that like he got to talk to the corner team like he he came out and he was like he was ready to kill then I think it was just all there is a touch that with him though like when you're talking to him you're like can't believe this guy like absolutely like dismantles people for 11 you know I mean like yeah he's actually So Cal when he's in there he really is like he's got all the talent and like I'd be surprised if he doesn't go and win the million dollars over there like if you look who the last champion was I think was OB Mercier was the last uh pfl Champion like I think he won it twice yeah like you try to tell me Paul Paul Hughes won't beat uh Obama Mercier like I think he beat him tomorrow my think think like as as Paul's teammate and he'll get what I mean with us like I want Paul to R tested and Paul wants to retest himself like the reason Paul in this whole journey is for greatness it's not for it's not to like you know beat on 10 guys like that's not what he's he's doing it for greatness and and to do that he needs to be challenged and face the get best guys in the world and now he's going to do it and he's going to have a million dollars in the bank if not twice if he does it twice qu one qu final question on the event um did you watch the whole thing re did you or most of no that's the worst thing I to watch it all no I was just wondering did you see Peter quy walk to the cage for zombie did I if you did see it I actually thought he was gonna retire like the way they did that he's wearing the suit or whatever thought it was very strange I time I was I was at this local show one time in a time and like literally like a like a little sh like a kickb show or something and they asked me to come in the ring and they introduced me in and nobody could care less and nobody was there that's what it felt like I do like Peter but there was no place for them to do that like it was strange I thought joh I thought they were going to walk John Cavite as well yeah Shand chav was in Saudi Arabia but this is the thing about Shand Shand would do there's no place for it and he would say absolutely not well he would say a lot more x-r than I'm say it but he would tell them where to go and say no chance I'm walking night that's what because there's no place for it like it's the most Rand ever seen yeah well I will say it it was H it must been a really nice moment uh for Fai as well to like be putting their mark on like a new promotion as well which uh and like hopefully they start interacting with uh shando and Pat more because like the talent in that gym is exceptional and like it deserves to deserves to be there and like again like I'd love to see someone like maybe you know James web from KF um maybe eventually I know he had a fight lined up in cage Warriors but like he's towards the tail end of his career and like see him like get a get a Payday and get the Barry back in on Bellator as well let's just change everybody's career put them yeah but like no but there are some people who like you know I mean like you'd like to see them get nice Payday on the way out I do agree like even like the likes Jimmy wallhead and stuff like he could battle over at the bfl have another few another few fights like who knows yeah exactly you know mean like like I think I think there's actually massive room for sort of like uh quot quote like a Legends League that that like they could do on the European scene and like I'm saying you use the legends to build up the next wave so like you put two legends on the card uh to sell the tickets to see the new wave of people yeah I Phil and he's dying to fight over in Europe somewhere he's dying for pfl so you know people like that have served their time in the game like you know maybe didn't get the brick he want it picked up a lot of losses on the way because he took hard fights I could give him his chance if you're giv giv an 07 their chance give I don't know what record is but like give him a chance like I think he's like sort of like is he like 14 and 12 or something something along those lines Al you know could have been a good touch as well they could have done like something sort of special for uh Ryan Curtis as well because obviously he fought in Bellator as well saw a load of tickets shout out to Ryan as well hopefully he's keeping well I can see he's actually like moving that like what he's doing is actually like's he is going to be doing seminars soon I would he'll be doing he'll be like 20 yeah oh yeah I think he's going to be doing like Ted Talks I felt like 100% And that I'd be there 100% yeah like what a go like like the way the M Community like is red around him is like something else and I also like I just feel like the way he's handled it all has been like unbelievable like what an inspirational over fell like all the stuff he has going on in the background as well like he's never come off the course like you know what I mean like he's with the promotion not promoting any putting any other fighters on the C you're not looking at the the best thing for Irish Fighters yeah definitely have zero against Nate Kelly Derk Kelly H schnake hav even young Nate the Great Kelly like definitely nothing against them in fact big fans of all them just uh more so Bellator and pfl need to spread the law and they need to like do what they said they were going to do and not just revert back to Old Habits I just find it funny cuz as a young fighter I used to listen to like podcasts and like if anybody said anything negative about anything
