Like you could argue Dana White is the biggest name in zoo for boxing, you know what I mean? And I know I know people said that about Eddie and Matram. So, it's definitely interesting to see that narrative. And I think Dana White, you know, you could argue maybe he's the biggest name in the UFC at the moment. Um, he he's definitely up there. He's definitely he's definitely top 10. So, look, Dana White's making a lot of moves. He seems to have a great relationship with Turkey al Shake who's obviously seems to be a business partner and with Zufa. He seems to be the most in bed with Zufa than he is with sort of Queensbury or Matram and then on top of that also you know Dana White has that relationship with Donald Trump as well. So like his sort of free range do what he wants in the US. I think Zuva boxing is really really very quickly becoming uh a massive contender here. The boxing Queensbury boxing that went on the last weekend, Dana White versus Eddie Hearn, Jake Paul PFL merger. UFC's on this weekend. Octagon just happened. We're going to talk about it all. Basmo. >> Yeah, very exciting. Very exciting, man. >> Yeah, absolutely. Absolutely. >> There's gonna be some highs and there going to be some lows, man. This is Get the tissues ready. >> Absolutely. Absolutely. Look, last night there was boxing on in the three arena. But we're going to look forward to next week's boxing three arena. First, h Aaron McKenna fights for a world title against Atonza Aaliyah uh in a Zufa 10 box card. H Basmo, this is the second time Zuka has come back to Dublin in their 10 shows. What do you make of that? >> Well, I'm very happy about it. Like, first of all, Irish people are getting paid. Another another big note out for Irish boxing fans, combat sports fans in general. Um Zuf also put out that they're going to be bringing some stars over as well. So it it's going to be very interesting. Do I think it's going to be bigger than the Queens ratio? >> I do not. Do you? >> I think it's going to be hard to top the Queensby show just because Pierce Ori is so local to the three arena like his gaff is an east wall like he he probably walked the venue. Um, so when you look at it like that, it's really really hard to take the McKenna brothers who I think are from Monon and then Callum Walsh who's from Cork and make the event feel as big because it doesn't feel as local. But look, I don't think it's necessarily that we need to compare them. I think they're both really really good shows in their own right and both have top talents. Both have title fights that really really make a massive difference on the world boxing scene, not just the Irish boxing scene. So like I'm really looking forward to it. Obviously Zu for Boxing bringing shows what once a year, twice a year now to um the three arena to Dublin I think is absolutely massive and we'll get into a bit later but they seem to be really really vacuuming up quite a lot of talent and I think this is only only the start of it. Um just to run through the card in terms of Aron McKenna obviously in a world title fight um in the main event King Colum Walsh um he drops the co- headliner h Joe Joe Ward a light heavyweight below Steven McKenna headlined the prelims probably because his brothers in the main event h I'm sure they want to give him a bit of time in between he's fighting on O'Neal and Connor Coyle also another middleweight bout on the card Baso tell us this what do you think of Callum Malsh now being the co-main event. Obviously, it's a world hidle in the main event, but do you think he'll feel a grieve going from main event to co-main event? This is this I feel like this is his first co-main event in a long time. >> No, it definitely is is his first one in a while. Um I think Callum is probably just happy to get a fight again, get the fight over here because last time when we were at the tree arena for his fight, it was it was absolute chaos. It was uh that was a great night as well actually. But uh look, I know we had him on a while ago and he said he was never ever going to be anything else but the main event. So uh I think like his time's going to come as well like like Aaron is 20 and0 and actually the first time it's going to be the first time him and Stevie are both fighting in Ireland in their professional career which is which is funny enough as well. But I think these lads are after getting like I think the Zufa thing is has gotten bigger since the the show was announced and like there's more and more opportunities going to be coming everyone's way and uh I think in particularly the Irish now this weekend >> for the people that for the people that don't know as well we will be there this weekend as well. So uh make sure to keep an eye on the socials because uh we're going to try and pump out as much content as we can this weekend. Absolutely. I think it's going to be really really big. And then with that being said as well, you have to look uh you know Dana White's going to be there at the event as well. I think he brings a lot of a lot of attention as well. Obviously they uh rob Johnny Fisher from Eddie Hearn, they rob Connor Ben from Eddie Hearn and like you would have said they were two like total Eddie Hearn guys, you know what I mean? But uh I think there's massive appeal with signing with Zufa because Zufa are already under the TKO group. So they can have you at UFC events, they can have you at WWE events. They can really build your profile by not having to do much more than you showing up to events. They don't have to you don't have to do as much maybe generic media as you might do with your with your matchroom or with your Queensbury because at the end of the day there's an absolute marketing machine under under Zufa. And look, the boxer seems to be getting paid well. You know what I mean? I think, you know, with the UFC, there's always that criticism that, oh, maybe the fighters aren't paid that well, but I don't think Connor Ben's complained about how much he's been paid. I don't think Ryan Garcia is going to be complaining about how much he's got paid. I don't think Johnny Fisher is going to complain about how much he's getting paid. So, look, it's definitely going to be interesting to see who's next, and it's going to be very interesting to see how many Irish fighters are going to be exclusively signing with. I think there's a bit of a a strange window at the moment because there's a once in a lifetime opportunity around the corner to fight on the Katy Taylor card. We've seen plenty of people doing that and it's going to be very interesting to see like obviously Thomas Karthy fought in that Zufa card uh in the past like will he get signed to uh Zufa? I think they definitely like him. I know um Tom Laughler likes him. I know Dana White likes him. So like you know these guys sort of have to maybe play ball till till September and then I think the landscape's going to change from then on in afterwards. >> No, I'd agree. Like obviously that Katy Tedar event on September 5th is it's just going to be legendary. Might never happen again while we're alive. So look, you can understand why people would have first preference for that. Um then you look at it the other way as well. Obviously the Queensbury event happened over the weekend like fighters would probably ideally get their fight in and then go on holidays. Uh I think the Zufa one is probably going to suffer the most because it's the literally the week after the Queensby show and like how many people can afford to go to >> every event like >> yeah there's like festivals and all going on as well you know >> in fair we normally go to the event and cover the event. So a lot of the time we don't even look up what the price tickets are. So I don't I have no idea what how much it cost to go see Pierce fight in the three arena. I have no idea how much it cost and see McKenna fight in three arena. So, it's going to be >> I'd say I'd say I'd say the Zufa ones are are probably a bit cheaper. >> Yeah, but potentially. So, >> potentially. I could be completely wrong though. Just >> Yeah, exactly. And look, not not only that, I think something that um maybe went slightly under the radar, maybe it didn't. uh like probably have our finger slightly less in the pulse of boxing than we do in MMA. But uh massive um partnership was announced this week on Irishies uh Jay Burn JB uh boxing uh is now in collaboration with Mick Connum Boxing or the Con Boxing. So that's actually huge for the domestic show. Both Con Boxing and JB Promotions put on massive domestic fights all the time. and when them now working in collaboration um working on events together, that is an unbelievable um platform for young up and cominging Irish boxers to fight on professionally and start to make their name on on the Irish scene and I think that that's going to be huge as well. So like boxing in this country is absolutely booing. Uh and as well like you have like the Commonwealth games are going on at the moment as well. Um there's uh championship boxing going on on the amateur scene as well. Uh, I think Casey Rock is definitely a name struck out from the amateur scene. I think boxing is really, really, you know, as big as it's ever been. And it's funny that it's reaching this height as the biggest superstar we've ever had is about to step away from the sport. So, it it's never been in a healthier place. We have Queensbury Matchroom and Zufa Boxing all bringing big shows within, you know, 40 days of each other. It's absolutely incredible to see how much respect the boxing world has for Irish boxing and how much they value the fandom that is here. And I think we'll really really see that over the Zufa show and then the Katy Taylor show. And I'm looking forward to it. And it looks like um one thing I will say Turkey Alsh is that he's making all the big fights happen. He's made more collaboration between Queensbury, Matro and Zufa. And look, I'm here for it. I think the more shows in Ireland, the better shows in Ireland we are definitely here for. And it's great to see these young boxers get a chance to put a performance on like we saw uh Adam aligning. I'm going to say it that way. That's definitely wrong. But uh he he got the fight over the over the weekend. Got a big finish. Steve Kairen's got a big finish. Saw the return of Gary Cully um there on Queensbury as well. >> Yeah. Also hopefully Lee Reeves is okay as well. >> Yeah, absolutely. Uh, obviously, you know, it didn't go Pierce Oir's way. Um, you know, Bobby Floyd got got in there again as well. He's on the Katy Taylor card. Like, all these guys look like top talent and it's going to be very interesting to see where do they land in three or four fights? Are they going to stay with Queensbury, which I think is totally fine to do. Will Matroom come in and look for them or will they end up with Zu for boxing? Who knows? And then look look at this weekend's card. We already rattled off names, but like three massive names in boxing. The McKenna brothers are absolutely huge. Um, I know I know a lot of people maybe think that, you know, their sense of humor and their personality is a bit dry, but my god is their fight style good. Steven McKenna is probably the most aggressive boxer that's come from this island in a very long time. He is in there to take heads clean off. H Ar McKenna looks absolutely slick in there. Um, you know, he really really does. There's a reason he's fighting for the world title. And I don't think uh a boxer has been pushed harder than King Callum Walsh in a very very long time. He is the Zufa Golden Boy. And let's see, let's see where the limit is for this guy's career. I'm really really looking forward to I think boxing is at at its absolute peak at the moment in this country. And long may that last Basel. >> No, I agree. And that collaboration with Colin Boxing and was it JB? >> JB. Yeah, >> JB boxing. Yeah, because >> J Burn. What a guy. Yeah, it's it's just more the step below the Queensburries and the Zufas and the Matchrooms like they're looking for like already sort of made stars or potential big names coming through, you know, whereas like >> I felt like the the column boxing events that were going on and like they they weren't getting enough recognition like all of a sudden you'd find out they're on the weekend. Now, obviously our priority is like I know we we let people know when there's like Muay Thai events and like kickboxing events and jiu-jitsu events and obviously MMA events, but like the column ones sort of go under the radar for how much boxing is loved, especially in Belfast. So >> hopefully them two together can create a feeder like can feed these big shows and then then when those big names go to them events >> and fight on the zufas and the matchrooms and the queens they can then come back and be in the audience and then like um raise everyone else's names as well. So it it just feeds it just feeds the cycle. So it is that's that's very very positive for the scene. >> 100% like look at Paul Ryan. Paul Ryan was fighting on JB promotion show uh for J Burn and now he's fighting on the Katy Taylor card. You know what I mean? Uh I think like I think Shawn Mcome was fought a good few column boxing cards and he was fighting at the weekend there. >> So like there you go. Like you know what I mean? And it's great to see it and like they're actually so high level shows. It's almost like it's >> it's almost like they're the boxing version of Cage Warriors almost you might want to call it. >> That's that's what it's like cuz I like they're run really professionally. They look really really good when they're on. Um and like they probably could at some stage in the future maybe get towards the three arena show. >> I agree. Yeah, sure. All it takes is one star to sell out an arena. >> Absolutely. >> Yeah. So, we're looking forward to it anyway. But, uh >> big time. >> Yeah. Yeah. So, like we're going to be at Sufa this weekend. So, as I said, make sure to keep an eye on that stuff cuz uh anytime we're there, Ross causes absolute havoc. So, uh, we we will see who will meet. I think like the likes of like Finn Balor is going to be there. Uh, Becky Lynch, >> Becky Lynch, Shauna Bannon, >> Sean Bannon, give us another Johnny Fisher. >> Yeah. Johnny Johnny Fisher is going to be there. Uh, there probably a whole host of other people there >> potentially. Yeah. >> Yeah. So, we'll see. We'll see what kind of carnage we can cause behind the scenes on that. Just know because we will be discussing it all next week. >> Absolutely. We absolutely will. Uh before we leave the topic of boxing, Basmo, how do you view the worldwide stage of boxing landscape between like Eddie Hearn, Dana White, you know, I think a big one is the Joshua Fury fight. You know, Dana White was saying he was the promoter, Eddie Hearn saying he wasn't, now he is the promoter. H what are your thoughts on this sort of uh I don't know this carnival, this bit of a circus that's going on between between all the top promoters? I think Frank Warren's sort of staying in his lane a bit, I think. It just seems to be that people were sort of disrespecting Dana and what he was doing, but like that move to get Connor Ben on side and take him away from Eddie Hearn is actually like looking back now is the biggest move that's been made. Like obviously Eddie's now going into MMA representation. He's representing Tom Aspen representing Garry. Ever since he's done them mergers like I haven't really seen him get Tom as to do much at all really. The only thing I've seen him to do with Ian like obviously bar bring him home was u do that high performance podcast and that was uh probably not his greatest moment. I I actually tried tagging him on a on a show last week and you're not able to tag him like he still follows us but we can't tag him. So that definitely didn't go well in the Machado Gary household. But um looking at the real stars that Matum has right now is obviously Anthony Joshua and there's obviously Katie Taylor but those two are going to be finished within the next year. like Katie, this is going to be Katy Taylor's last fight this year in September. Anthony Joshua looks beyond chinny at this stage and I think the last fight he's going to have is against Tyson Fury. >> Then who's going to be the next guy up or a girl for match room? >> Yeah, it's it's really hard to >> Conor that was Connor Ben's place on on the that was his throne to take and he's gone now. Yeah, like when I'm looking at it here, like I think is Ben Whitaker their next guy. Is that is that like is that who they're putting their sort of their hopes on? >> Supposedly Eddie Hearn was talking to Chris Eubank Jr. as well, but he's I think he's I think he's like 37 now, isn't he? >> Like I know they have um the Mitro Bivol as well, but as much as he's obviously like very very good, is he is he box office in terms of the same way, you know, someone like Anthony Joshua is? I know Katie Taylor, they they probably sell similar in terms of like tickets and things like that, but obviously Katie Taylor has like the entire >> sort of female boxing scene behind her. And also I think she's a bit of a unicorn that like everyone gets in behind her. Like look obviously he has other fighters like Jack Catar who uh Jeron Ellis Enis who like you know boxing fans Josh Kelly who like can sell tickets in arenas and you know people will go see you know obviously you know Molly Macan Lewis Crocker I'm talking like you know across the UK and Ireland that like PE Sky Nicholson as well who are people are going to be like oh yeah I can't wait to see them fight but at the end of the day if we're talking about people who are huge stars who can sell out, you know, massive arenas no matter where they are. I'm talking like people who can sell out Wembley. That's that's sort of, you know, the big UK boxing scene. I don't think he has one that can set out Emily after Joshua goes. >> Yeah. You know, I I think if you're going to hit your wagon to anyone right now, I think it would have to be Thomas Carti. Just like he's a heavyweight. the way he moves, the way the way he like represents the Irish language as well because if you look at Frank Warren, Frank Warren has the heavyweight division basically on lockdown and um if you're going to come over to Ireland like a look if you can get a heavyweight to main event like that's going to sell tickets. So I think the only one that's sort of available is Thomas Carti now he's obviously fighting he is the he's is fighting with Matroom on the Katy Taylor card. I think he's someone to reook at, but I I think Dana White likes Thomas McCarthy as well. So, >> yeah. >> And like Thomas McCarthy got a uh a foe with a Toma and a Toma is a young heavyweight who was like already at the top of the sport, you know what I mean? And that's that's a huge one coming there. So like the these uh these guys are all in a really good position that at the end of the day, you know, a lot of them the decisions are in their hand. I feel like it's a it's a real fighters first sport at the moment cuz atma's fighting Hovic next in the O2 and that's obviously going to be a massive fight for H for Queensby. But as soon as these guys come out of contract, they're going to go to the highest bidder. At the end of the day, you know, people say in MMA it's prize fighting, but in boxing it really is prize fighting because you're not as, you know, you don't necessarily have to be with Zufi. You can go make loads of money fighting in Matram. You can go make loads of money fighting in Queensbury or you can just fight their guys once you get to the top and get the titles. It's not the same as the UFC where you sort of have to be under that brass or you have to be under the PFL brass. There's no free agency of fighting effectively. >> Yeah. No, I agree. I you know, I just think that going with Zufa is the smartest thing to do. Like you're going you're tapping into a whole new market. >> You're going to be shaking hands with like all these different people. The the way they pump out the content is great as well. Not not saying that Matroom isn't great. Matroom is very very good content makers. I think Queensbury is lacking there as well, but I I think I think just like look at Connor Ben now. like all you like everyone's looking at Connor Ben and they're just like look what he's doing now. He's like at the White House. He's at all these events. He's >> he's really reaping the best. >> Roll out the red carpet. >> Yeah. And that's all that's all everyone wants. >> Yeah. Everyone wants to be treated the best. >> Yeah. >> So, what do you do you think do you think do you think Dana White's winning at the moment or he's on the he's on the path to victory? Yeah, I think he's going to win as long as he's still 100% dedicated to it and he has he has the interest to do it and and the thing is competition's like good the way like Eddie and it's Eddie versus Dana and stuff. This is this is good for everyone involved. Like this keeps everyone talking about it. You wouldn't be surprised like they they actually definitely do like each other, you know what I mean? Like they both have previously stated that they liked each other. They've hung out before. They're both very driven individuals. Um both ruthless, both smart interesting one for Dana White. Obviously, he's been known not to go to every UFC event uh these days, but he went to Serbia and he was over in Serbia and I wonder go to Serbia because obviously they're coming to Dublin next, so it's not that far away. Um what are your thoughts on first of all more UFC European events? Do you think that that is more likely to happen now with Zufa Boxing? Like do you think Dana White is going to be thinking do Friday night Zufa boxing, Saturday night UFC? It really depends who they have like you know I mean I don't think they're going to do a main event with Callum Walsh in Denmark. >> So it really depends what fighters they have or even if they do the big shows they can do meet and greets with the fighters there and then. So if they have any Ser if they have any Serbian boxers, they could have them there at the UFC shows and make a bit of a fuss about them and just hype them up. >> But it was really cool like like obviously UFC Serbia wasn't that big of a card name recognition. But seeing Medic get the finish and then the crowd go nuts like that's what builds people like Medic stock rose massively because he got the finish in front of his home crowd and the place erupted for him. when the player rubs for you, you go, "Geez, that guy has a bit of something about them." As opposed to if that was Medic versus Rodriguez in the Apex, you still be like, I don't really care about Medic. Now I'm like, all right, let's let's see what what this Medic is about. >> I'd agree. I'd agree. >> Maybe that's that's what they need to do. And I feel like if UFC actually announced a Dublin show, you'd find yourself three or four Irish lads that get signed to the UFC before the show. Like if UFC announce November 20, oh maybe I say December 3rd, whatever the first weekend December is, they're coming to Dublin. You know what I mean? You probably have Patty Mccari on the show. You probably like, you know what I mean? Obviously Adam Derbyy's fighting contender series, he'd be on the show and then you probably find three or four more lads depending on what weight class looking, depending on what roster guys they need to get matched. They get more Irish guys on the show because they're coming here. But it's very hard for Irish guys to get signed to the UFC when the UFC don't come here. >> Yeah, I think there'll be UFC are obviously not coming this year. >> But I think they stop going to Canada. They stop going to Canada because none of Canadian fighters are winning. >> Well, the thing is I think there's like a whole host of Irish fighters that will be in the UFC in the coming years. And I think right now they're just sort of on the cusp more of a Dana Roy contender series level. >> Yeah. >> With their records. But like in a year's time, they'll have a couple more wins and they'll be more they'll be more UFC ready. >> 100%. >> Yeah, >> 100%. But look, I I think I think the zoom for boxing, seeing Ireland as a hub for European boxing is definitely going to play in favor with the uh with the Irish and May tunnels as well. >> Yeah, that's it's it's daily. It's daily. I'm very excited for this weekend. So, and the funny story was right, we obviously got credentials for Zufa. I also sent media credential applications for Queensbury for myself and Ross and then they said yes to Ross. They never got back to me. [laughter] >> It's the mustache, man. It's the mustache, >> man. I need to I need to grow back. >> You need You need to shave off the rest of that beard, man. Just leave the mustache, man. >> No. See, the thing is I shaved it all off and then just grown back and just like like >> What can you do, man? They were like they were like no sub 25 20 minute 5k is allowed and >> they were afraid you start doing laps around the ring at some stage. Actually Eddie Hearn's going to do a 5k here in Dublin the night the day before Kate Taylor fights isn't he? >> Yeah you're going to do it. Well I probably won't be able to do on the Friday but we'll see what happens. Swing it just race him. >> Yeah absolutely. >> Then uh yeah over here Russ we were also saying then obviously over the weekend queen the queensbury show happened. It it actually see didn't seem that bouncy until like maybe the last couple of fights as well, which was sort of interesting. >> Yeah. But I I think with the way it was sort of booked, I feel like you were sort of getting an Irish fight and then like some non-Irish fights almost in between >> and like it didn't sort of keep the >> the bulls going if that makes sense in the same way. So, look, it's not a it's not a knock on anyone, but uh I think obviously, you know, the big thing was Pierce Oiri, like this this was his show. Obviously, it didn't go his way. >> Wouldn't mind seeing a rematch like plenty of knockdowns in the fight and everything. I think it it was definitely a very very good fight, but again, like I think Royce and Barney Smith versus Blotty, like that's not a a non like that's a non-Irish fight if that makes sense. Yeah, that was a good score. [snorts] >> Obviously Gary Cley beat Lee Reeves, but obviously that sort of finished when like Lee Rees needing like medical attention. So like not ideal. Uh obviously Craig O'Brien lost to Ben Fail as well, which like isn't ideal either. You know what I mean? >> Yeah. >> So like there's there I suppose there's a few moments where the the air got sucked out of the arena if that makes sense. So >> yeah, definitely definitely at the end man. Yeah, that was that was disappointing cuz like it looked like Pierce was just about to like >> see out the fight and win it. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. But look, he he he said he wanted he wouldn't mind doing a rematch after as well. So, look, that was a good fight. I'll definitely watch that again. That's the thing. Some of these fights you can watch and they're not that entertaining, but that was a very entertaining fight. >> 100%. >> Yeah. Then, um, as we said over the weekend, that that's what went down in the tree arena. We we will be there this weekend as well. Um, Rossa, just touching on that. Um, also the PFL was on over the weekend and it was announced that the PFL have done a merger with MVP, which is Jake Paul's company. So, what do you think that means for the PFL and MVP altogether? Because obviously MVP did the event, the the MMA event that happened on Netflix. um PFL seem to be like just I don't know just sort of going through the motions and now they've merged like what do you what do you expect to happen in the future with this merger? >> Yeah, I suppose with things like this timing is everything and in certain ways which is a I feel like is very much a PFL thing. The timing did not land correctly. Um and when I say that is on the week where Usmanov is fighting uh and you know big fight night for them lightweight title probably their most well-known fighter um it looks like he's going to the UFC. So like when he's there calling out Jake Paul and asked him how deep his pockets are uh effectively in the cage after after getting a massive massive finish um to defend his title >> I think >> not a not a phenomenal look for the PFL um like realistically you know UFC don't really bar France and Ganu like I can't think of another fighter who's been the champion and fought out their contract in such a long period of time like they don't let that happen. You know what I mean? And PFL seem to let that happen time and time again. Happened with Kayla Harrison. They didn't learn. Now it's happened with man or mag. They don't have a lot of stars in the company. They don't have a lot of big names and they're letting them walk out the door. So >> they also they also had the codified over the weekend as well. How is she not fought for a title yet? >> Well, she won the >> the European tournament. >> Yeah, the European tournament, I think. At the end of the day with her, I think it's it's like she is the title, if that makes sense. >> She is the title. Yeah. >> You see the thing is with withman Nagamative there, um I feel like he's sucked up all the PFL fandom he can get there. >> Yeah, exactly. But like he'll be made a bigger star in the UFC because obviously, you know, you look at it there and there's probably not a hell of a lot of fights left for Islam Makv and I I know Islam's up a lot weight now. Um, but when you look at sort of the Dagistani stars, they only ever really have one, if that makes sense. There's always like a Dagistani top guy. And at the moment it's Islam Machev. But when he goes, could the could the top guy be Usman or Magdov? Absolutely it could be. And could where like where do I think he fits in the UFC top 15? I think he's in around that that sort of top eight at the moment. Like if if I if I have a quick look at the UFC rankings here, I'll tell you who who's where. Although like we have to say are we talking about meta rankings or are we talking about uh >> I think the meta rankings are meant to be better. >> Yeah. So like I look at it here right um right well Hanat Moano is seven. So I think he easily beats Moano right. So if we go into the top six like Gamro's going to be a top five for him. Uh Patty Pimla like obviously that' be very interesting stylewise to see how that would play out. Max Holloway is uh like I feel like you'd be able to out grapple him but who knows. Max Holloway uh is obviously But he's a welinner. [laughter] >> Uh Charles Olivera obviously another very interesting match up. Sukian probably a very hard match up. Depri is there as well and Justin Gi as the champ. So like he he's right there. Usman Magdov uh with those guys. Hard to know until we see him in the octagon against one of those guys to really like see you know but like if he became champion in the UFC like I wouldn't be shocked. You know what I mean? just either or >> it's it's just let's see how he goes, you know. >> Yeah. >> Well, the thing the thing is hopefully the PFL improve >> and like the fighters are then like more happy to stay there, especially if they're getting paid, especially the Irish fighters that are going as well. >> MVP seem to be doing some big moves. I think with Jake Paul and with Nikita there, >> they know how to keep themselves relevant and they know how to make big moves. Obviously they did the MVP MMA show on Netflix. That was huge. Obviously PFL are like gez we could have done with a lick of that now. And then obviously MVP have also done a deal with Mashroom to promote women's combat sports which is huge as well. So that's going to be really interesting to see how that plays out. So it looks like you know maybe will we see PFL and MVP lean in with Matram? is going to be Eddie Jake and PFL versus Dana White uh and Zu for boxing at the TKO group. You know what I mean? Vincent Ban's going to come out and the the whole world's going to h get a get a tag team match. Also like [snorts] there is this sort of ongoing thing where Jake Paul was with the PFL before and he let them down, did nothing. So can he redeem himself this time? >> Yeah. He's saying he wants to fight an ATS there as well. So like there >> Yeah. Well, make that happen. Like that'll be huge. And like I wouldn't be surprised to see PFL do like a once- off deal on Netflix. But again like PFL like they were burned by and they were burned by Jake Paul. So every time PFL do something big, they've been burnt by it, you know. >> Yeah. But this time it just feels a bit different. >> Yeah. Look, fingers fingers crossed it is like you know I mean like this could be great news for Paul Hughes Reese McKe own Sheran and a whole host of other Irish talent. So like I hope it plays out well just history hasn't gone in their favor you know. >> Yeah. Well the good thing is we will find out. Jake Paul versus Paul Hughes. Two Pauls enter one Paul leaves. >> You probably end up getting Logan Paul on it as well. It was very unconvincing, man. And then also Tyson Fury got the win as well. What sort of make of this fight? Like some people are saying that like why are they even doing it? And like where do you think it's going to be on? Because there's rumors it's going to happen in um MSG now in New York. >> Yeah. Look, if [snorts] being brutally honest, I don't actually care where it's going to be. I think >> you don't think it should be in England though. No. >> Yeah, it probably should be. Like, but I think the fight is so overly talked about at this stage that like until like I think >> I think we were making videos about that fight about 10 years ago. >> Yes. So, so to fight in Eddie Hearn's back garden back in the day and like get it done, you know what I mean? H I don't care what happens in the bleeding meta apex at this stage. But, uh, those two lads just need to fight each other. I think it's going to probably happen in Vegas to be honest. I think it's going to be the last dance for both of them. Uh, definitely the last dance for Anthony Joshua. Uh, I thought there was no need for Tyson Fury to have his fight. I actually think Joshua did need to have a have a warm-up fight. I'm not really a big fan of warmer fights, but obviously after the car crash. I think that's probably something he just needed to prove himself. But uh obviously, you know, the chin is not great. If they if they fought tomorrow, you'd have to favor Tyson Fury. >> You think so? Yeah. >> Well, just with Joshua getting knocked down twice in the first round. I'm going to call it one and a half knockdowns to be honest. >> Yeah. See, I don't think Tyson Fury's a massive puncher as well, but >> I don't think I don't think your man was a world class athlete who knocked down twice. So, >> I know >> it would it just would have been great if they were both they both had the belts in their boat in their prime. Like that's that's what everyone was licking their lips to. Turkey should have got involved way like way way sooner. >> Yeah, absolutely. Um, so as we said, Super Boxing Saturday, we cannot wait for myself and Ross get to hang out and uh cause some absolute carnage. Hopefully, if anyone's there, let us know cuz uh it's going to be very, very interesting. You you don't know who could be there, honestly. >> Yeah, a a few more things I want to touch on. Uh, want to give a a massive shout out to uh Craig Kley, who retired from Muay Thai H this week. Craig Kley, h an absolute pioneer and veteran of the game. H all those at Dublin Combat Academy will owe him a massive massive debt of gratitude and a massive debt for the the skill and what he's doing. Also, fighters all over, multi fighters all over uh the country will owe him a gratitude of debt. He's paved the way for fighters into massive organizations all the way up to one fighting championship. So, uh Craig Hoki, absolute legend. Hopefully we see him stick around the game in some capacity because that man has absolute buckets of knowledge. I'm sure him and the legendary and iconic Collie Matt have probably shed a few tears. Hopefully they uh had a celebrity drink and a celebrity meal. Uh and I hope uh all things get back on track for Dub and Combat Academy as well who are having issues with finding a new location for their gym. So uh hopefully that all clears up. And then in other news that wasn't going the way Irish may, just want to give a massive shout out to Will Flurry who dared to be great and fell slightly short. Uh what a first round. H one of the one of the best first rounds uh I've seen in a long time. Him versus uh Murdo was absolutely electric from start to finish. You know, it's rare that I'm very much on the edge of my seat watching a fight, but I was Will Flurry nearly with a knockout finish at the end of the first round. Um, one or two punch after the bell, but I actually was watching I couldn't hear the bell. So, I'm not surprised Will Flurry didn't hear the bell. And then basically the first punch of the second round, Will Flurry gets dropped. And uh, look, I thought it was an early finish. I thought Will Flurry was, you know, bringing in the grappling exchange. Uh, I think sometimes, you know, maybe some like Aaron Wallace will probably tell us better or declar or Derek Kiki will tell us probably tell us better, but sometimes when you when a big shot like that lands in, the ref sort of comes in close to because like obviously they need to protect the fire if he goes out cold and then obviously you hate one or two more sort of not so clean shots and the refs are sort of getting closer closer and then you're almost on top and that you sort of have to touch them or not touch them and he's like, "Oh, touch and And then like once the ref touches it like the fight should be stopped. So look obviously Will Flurry took it like Matthew Champ. He came out on social and said look at the end of the day thought it was near stoppage but it's my fault that I got dropped like that. So he's taken 100% of the blame. But I would love to see them rematch that on a full camp because that was super high level fight, super intriguing fight and I think that is the fight to make at Octagon 100. Yeah, like I was l just sitting here. They had the will fight on my phone and the peers fight on the TV and like it was it was so it was actually so difficult concerning a boat because they're both like chaotic and then I thought Will had to fight over and then I I wasn't sure like Minov was going to come out after the belt cuz like I couldn't turn. >> Yeah, you're sitting on the ground. It was a bit of a strange round. I was like I'm like this I'm like like what's going on and then like and then like you're like Will's probably going to finish it now and then all of a sudden it was over and he lost and I was like what is going I was just like like how do we cover this [ __ ] like this is >> what >> yeah very sometimes you get really emotionally invested in the fighter as well like you want it so bad for you know and then unfortunately Lucy put Lea also lost unanimous decision in the main event as well. So, uh, not not, uh, not a good evening for the Flurry household and not a good evening for SPG Ireland, but, uh, look, I suppose when you get to the very heights of the sports and you're fighting for world titles, these things can happen. >> Yeah. Um, also, Cage Warriors were over in Dublin and they did a little piece with Gary Rooney. So, it'd be interesting to see now if they do more pieces with other Irish fighters as well, because they're always very enjoyable. Get to know the fighters a bit more. Um, then also this weekend, the UFC is back. It's in the UFC Meta Apex as Matias Gamrod is taking on Quillan Salid in the main event.
