guest man today we have Irish MMA and Jujitsu Legend it's the one and only head coach of Team Roo it's coach Andy Ryan Andy how you doing bud I'm good lads good glad to be here not really but I let on I'm glad to be here right yeah don't worry I'll sip you the money later we're glad you're here Andy that's all that counts no listen thanks very much thanks Andy unbelievably successful weekend from the gym H three three big wins at the weekend uh we we'll start off you were OB obviously over with Reds r what was that show like and how good was it to see Reds are back competing yeah Polaris is really really good the show was super high level the L run run a top show there you know there there some amount of Talent on that show um it was the best I've seen Reds are even these last couple of pro fights he didn't look as good or as fit as that or as healthy as that it's the healthiest I've seen him the fittest I've seen him um and the most happy look he was he was a happy camper there fighting um the weekend I don't call it fighting just matches the was not really fighting after what he's had been doing before but yeah it's um he looked good I T his last couple of MMA fights wasn't the red that we know he looked a bit dep pleaded and you know tired that for me even these last couple of um jiujitsu matches didn't look as good as that he looked healthy and strong and he looked very peaceful in the mind the might sound mad but he he was very settled in the whole fight he didn't get himself CAU up or anything you know and I thought was very good he did put the walk in I will say that he put the for for this event which is a big deal you know yeah as as he says you're either a Workhorse or not that man's definitely a Workhorse yeah but he listen up usually tries to do too many things like he was one stage he was doing 25 M 25 kilometer runs one day and doing a threaten uh weightlifting competition on the next day and then coming to roll stupid stuff and then playing that bleed stupid Gulf is what he was playing I banded for golf for eight weeks eight weeks up that fight and that's that was the key no golf yeah so if if you want to make in the BJJ world give up the golf that's that's that's the key lesson yeah if you don't have another job and you have loads of time and you live in San Diego play the golf you like you know good weather but you're trying to do a night to five job he do a bit of DJ in the weekend and then trying you know a fulltime hav got time and with that for reder would you like to see him uh be more active then and competing a bit more often and get those big matchups yeah I'm not too worried about that I'd like to see him pushing more just to seeing as in you know start teaching a few seminars and get around he's one of the best in in in the country you know we showed that the weekend you know there's no you know Frills with him he just gets it gets it done and I'd like to see him out there doing a bit of teaching and seminars around the country and that you know and do you know going on Polaris more I like to see him fight MVP now and Polaris may be good for you yeah definitely a bit bit of a Polaris UK versus Ireland that could be a good show and that that could be the headliner i' be all for um yeah I thought he looked really good I thought he really pushed pushed the action out of the two of them um I guy Christian's a lovely guy and he's T he's good Euro base as well you know young guy young fit guy you know's getting on now 48 well look he rer was the one for me pushing the pace in there so turn that's mean he looked very controll his Fitness level was good and he was strong it's great to see Razer get the win um yeah no the thing is GRA the grapple Kings open is going to be coming up soon I know it was meant to be on this weekend but it was pushed back uh would you like see red that next I don't one graa king Lads do a great show we've been we've had Lads on it Reds has been on it before graa Kings with Philip M yeah I think of did time is right the opponent is right yeah 100% but I won't pressurizing he's he's have the goods a good competition there I let him play golf for a couple of weeks and then we see what happens he needs a good matchups doesn't he yeah um was Reser nervous about losing his job with cage Wars after such a fantastic Jump by the one and only J Harris no no no it caused I heard it caused K jville 20 grand to get subtitles put under think action he's worse oh stop the lights stop the lights but I I suppose one transition to R will be he'll be very happy with uh Solomon and Lewis we'll start off with Solomon h two submissions at the weekend Andy what's the story with Solomon H all four of his cage Warriors fights he's he's finished them in the last 30 seconds of the round that man doesn't stop till the buzzer goes no he he getting mixed so I told him the first 30 seconds he mustn't be listening and he's doing the last 4 seconds so look and and he's five and0 record I think it's three submissions Now isn't it yeah three submissions two two uh strike finishers so he's all finishers yeah yeah I's looking look listen as I said um I I have to say to Solomon Solomon doesn't believe him sometimes I just say to him like you're one of the big dogs in the gym here you know myself and and James and suppos Derby and that coming through but they're they're the big dogs leading the way you know what I mean and I've always said it everyone was talking about I think the last time we had a conversation about everyone talking about where Derby was going and what's next to change and I said listen L Solomon I think Solomon's going to be in that UFC or big promotion sooner than anyone thinks you know what I mean um I think we got to be careful now what we do with him the next couple of fights don't do anything stupid that was a step up in in opponent I don't want I'm not going to say step up a class I don't want to be disrespectful but the guy had a lot more fight very experienced fighter a tough guy but I think Solomon is in that Danger land where he's going to find a hard to get you know some on his own level probably he's probably gonna have to step up now I think he's ready for it but I don't think there's a rush for him yet you know let's see what next week next year um you know H has I speak to gr Bo and speak to I and see what's on their plans and then we can speak to Solomon's management but Solomon will go tomorrow and F anybody you know the way he is um but you can see the massive massive difference from amateur to Proud like he had all them all them sort of you know good f right when he was an amateur but sometimes didn't believe in himself as much I didn't believe in his Fitness and would hold back a little bit you know what I mean and you can see it there now he's a he's a all-rounded fighter he's dropping guys in training here with body shots not meaning it you know he's out wrestling some of the wrestlers you know he's good he's he's really he's really put to walk in and he can see that yeah he totally controlled the fight from start to finish against someone who's very experienced as well now Obie Saul has like a I think he has about almost 20 amateur fights so so's very experienced but uh I think he sort of in the build up to that fight he was very under the radar but after that now five and0 five finishes he's definitely want to watch isn't he Ross yeah absolutely look so Sals uh as Andy saying he doesn't really have a lot of places to go he's after creating this Buzz about himself he's got four finishes on the cage Warriors roster you know I mean like he's looking up towards those other guys who've n made a name for themselves in cage Warriors you know what I mean I love to see him get like a prime spot on the dub card on the main card I'd love to see him fight someone with would have bit of name recognition but as Andy said like you know In fairness we're very bad for trying to shoehorn everyone in the totle shots Andy we want everyone to play for the tomorrow which is good but everyone has you exactly and I think the thing with Solomon like talk about like he looks very good with an experienced fighter I think it's because he's training in here with experienced guys all the time so because we have a little I suppose we don't have a huge foight team but we have a very experienced foight team so it's it's pretty small compared to some gyms but they're all good level so in the pros you know you got the two visits you know Nadine and and Jamie Jamie they're actually on there trying out M um and then you got you know J and then we've got Lewis and then thein and you know we and we've a good few amate coming through we sending that AB Brad as well give him a shout out for his boxing fight as well he got a win in his box F there John Mitchell to bits yeah John Mitchell yeah but it was good we take that as another team r f are winning over the last few days no but listen I think I think so they in it there's a good special bond of them they're all very very experienced amateurs they're all experienced pros and they're all rubbing off each other there and sharing a bit of knowledge and helping each other so you know there's a little bunch of them it's that coming together we've we've made a little training room downstairs with them as you see Ross and they're using that now a lot and they're just meeting up together as a small group so they're not getting caught up and training about a lot the beginners and stuff you know they have their own bit of space in the m and I start to lead them to it a little bit I'll direct them a bit but like so James with no fight coming up so let James take charge a little bit you know if Lewis hasn't got something com up I let Lewis take charge a little bit so it's good don't we yeah H one person we have to talk about is James Sheen he was OB he's obviously the champion in cage Wars and he was meant to defend his title like I think it was around now I know the fight was cancelled but uh when do you would you like to see James back in action on yeah James was meant to be for September was it his September yeah I don't think it was November yeah and we wanted to we wanted to do November we couldn't there was no spot because they put all those title fights up he couldn't put another one up so the first show the C Warriors deal but but listen H gr Bo's watching and anyone out there watching if a UFC fight pops up he's ready to go he's stead fit he stad sharp he's in great condition he's ready to go yeah well it was announced that cage warar will come to Dublin twice next year and Andy you know the dates you may as well break the news I don't know the know my used to get me caught up and all that wheny coming couldn't give a [ __ ] they coming which is good we out in the doors for a lot more clubs than than just us and anyone out there that hasn't got you know you young Fighters come get them on cers you know it's a good pathway and you're going to get a few fights a year that's the main thing there's plenty of shows you know there's plenty shows especially with two shows in Oreland had they gone back to Scotland again did he announce where they going back to I said he said they're doing 18 shows didn't so you'd be mad not to S him with them them would you yeah exactly it was interesting that they said two ear they didn't take two du so I wonder will will they do a trip back down to Cork go to Belfast with last upd a few guys hav't they yeah that's that's fair FAO as well yeah up in Belfast yeah that that' be a good show as well like look as long as long as two shows and there's a few guys in CK there BR man's G Pro and that isn't he and um a few LS in his gym there you know so I think wherever wherever happens in or is going to be busy anyway exactly and after that recommendation that you think people should if they if the opportunity Ro they should go to cage Wars we should H touch on Lewis burn H great win up in Clan Wars H very unique submission took on opponent on short Noles moved up a weight class um really really slidify himself h on his entry into the pro scene and what a submission Andy tell us tell us what did you make of the submission what's your breakdown on it because it was very unique looking yeah but he always does mad hippie stuff we always slag him over that you know Hees stuff that that look doesn't work and once he went down and the guy had a Mis control he knew there was something coming I actually thought he was going to get the Boogie show but uh he went for that sort of his own version of it sort of triangle neck crank position I think Mark Leonard was surprised but we knew what was happening when he was down it you know what I mean he does St like that in the gym but on Lewis Lewis is is someone I'm glad now has got to get that little win he puts the work in sometimes he doesn't have that bit of Venom in him does not that belief in himself you know cuz when you you see him boxing you see him wrestling you see the jitu brilliant but he's putting it all together now so really really happy for him he's probably in the gym here you say he teaches the kids he's helped me out when I'm way and stuff so he's a great kid great boy and I just on that with clam Wars fair play to clan wars and his opponent pulled out and it was the second time the last time he to sold all the tickets and the opponent pulled out so Paul went out his way and flew that guy in you know I know it cost him a few quit because it was the last minute thing so I do appreciate that M clamor with the big card they had they could have just leave him there was but they didn't so I wanted no they definitely they definitely need a Le on that card yeah yeah yeah especially because CR Sheen was off the card like they definitely needed that Prof on it listen gra Shan I never seen someone looking as good shape you know we'll come to him in a minute I want to go off Lewis yeah trouble no but I think Lewis just that was a great H you know sort of pro debut for him and you know he he didn't worry about the weight he was walking around about 69 kilos fight week and then we agreed to do that weight at 70 he was in the process of water cut so look it didn't bother him as much that's shows you the professional he is I know clown wars was tring on us Thanking us you know for having them on the show and they try and sort him out for the next one but yeah and let's do the thing as well um I know C conflict had a show or you are who else was there someone else was I think Premier Were Meant to have a show on that Daye so listen there's loads of there's loads of shows in Orland that that the club should be S the for and when I'm talking about the cage War I'm talking about fellas that are sort of experienced Pros or if Show's here can't get them someone but like the cas conflict lads the Oar Clan Wars the premier they will you know try and support the local clubs first cuz that's where you make your name that's where you get your experience you know um you go off when you go to k Ro your first pro fight or you go to one of the big you know what promotions first fight and you lose where do you go you know build your name if you can try and support the local local shows and I wonder will Dey might be back next year so he could have his show back as well you know so there's plenty of shows it's just getting matched on them you know I think people start to put down the the the local shows but they're the ones where you make your experience and you know you you earn your shot to go to bigger shot we we love a local show we love a local show a local show it's great Andy Andy like what were your what were your thoughts on the way clown wars and cage conflict both had an event on the same night I know Premier originally had it booked as well that day as well but to way two big shows on the same night well so there's two ways to look at that people look at it and they say oh well maybe people should have to have certain dates but hang on they're two different businesses both are trying to make money and do their own show you know so both want the the perfect day for themselves it's a shame that happen but I think the two shows were full ready there was enough voice about I definitely I I I think I think it's not ideal it's not ideal but you can't say Clan Wars can't say the case are you don't put your show on this week we want it look if there's a bit of it would be great if you could say listen we're going to start of December well what happens then someone says well only going [ __ ] in November in case someone gets injured or pulls out so I don't really I understand because shows me that's that's the Heartbreak of it you know that's the Heartbreak it it isn't nice to have them on the same night especially the same part of orand I think that could have been a little bit different one was in the South and one was in the north you know look it is what it is it is what it is it's more for the MMA MMA people tune in and they have to pay for both streams it's like not many people are going to do that so I don't think people do any I think people only tune in with their teammate or their m is on on a show you know so no I I bought one and Ross bought the bought the other over the weekend you you was a you a you know MMA journalist and that's your s the job but I think look like Lewis's fans weren't Shing in the cage conflict and guys on cage conflict weren't Shing because they're watch they're only they're only sing up to watch their guys really you know I think that's the way it is really it's not as if it's the UFC or something you know and you're you're watching this you know so I think it's people them them there was uh you know um TV things and uh it's only whoever you know on that that that card you really soon paying the money to watch really I could be totally wrong don't know know I think it's not far from the truth and I think even even if you go to some of the bigger shows like Ireland is like so cult like that if you pull two non-irish people in the main event after an Irish person that like people leave yeah yeah you see that you see that like when running shows we' run a big battle on and the place we sold out but if the big seller ticket sellers run early then people were gone they're not waiting around they're gone out out you know yeah well I I would have thought it would be a better idea to have maybe one on the on the Saturday and one on the Sunday and then people could actually tune in to both but I mean like look we all have different hearts look not a deal you know yeah yeah yeah and I actually do like the shows when they're up the north on a Sunday and they do used to do nice and early you know get in early get out early you know used to love them starting at three o'clock and you're doing at seven half seven you know it's great yeah next one coming up is cage gladiators coming up on November the 17th uh Danny cor is going to be running last up yeah it's just great is it we haven't got anyone on it yet um I'm going to actually give my pause after this now because uh we were talking about put a couple of nous novice guys on a sort of a pre-show or you know something like that but look it's great to see him run the show Danny's a long time around Danny runs very successful jym you know he's sort of the the backbone of of Northern Orland and orish MMA the last good few years so it's great to see him doing the show hope hope it's successful yeah we're we're on the phone to him and say last week about it and like definitely of the most unsung heroes like the amount of yeah paperwork that fell does in the background trying to get MMA regulated up north and down south is incredible so shout out to Danny core um one person we did touch on there and uh you said he was in phenomenal shape H grahe Sheen now I know you said about you know making your name on the more local shows but how fitting would it be to get the Sheen Brothers to share a cage warer card yeah would be great it'd be great great gr gray I suppos is is a very experienced amateur you know um you know if if a fight come up with someone with a couple of fights on cage War even up to five Pro fight so I take of a gr because he is experienced he's changed as my SP partner you know it's there certain guys are that in Norland that probably can you know um K from from you know uh CAC and Brian Manning from Co they L are experien am they can jump up to to bag a little bit you know what I mean but I think graah yeah gr grahe could but I would like to get him on we're trying to get him on clam war that fell apart we're trying him on O War we're trying him on a few shows you just couldn't get it get it you know it partner we would just have to take anything now for grah and that's the truth of it you know do you think there's do you think there's a bit of a you know you know the surname holds a bit of weight there for some people they don't want to take the fight they're like oh that's the cage Warrior wewe Champions brother don't want to fight him type of thing yeah I don't know I don't know because um res only had this conversation was like he saying that sometimes people look at Team Roo oh hey it's a tough gym but it's not really you know they're not great in jitu not great them and we [ __ ] are you know we showed that show that this year you know okay we wouldn't be we're not one of the biggest gyms anywhere one stage we were one of the biggest gyms I still think we're up there but the quality we have we've got guys winning you know on Jujitsu scene the MMA scene you know the guys wrestling great wrestling team here the guys doing a little bit of Juda so I think Reds were starting saying even on his F people are looking at him there oh we're saying to my I didn't really how good you how tough you were you great Judo what do you expect like he's an experienced professional athlete me we have a tough gym here or one of the longest G so I think people look at us a little bit different like that um so you know I don't know really I don't know I would say the last 24 months has been almost like a massive Resurgence for the gym I think like the win rate is probably really really high in the gym the last 24 months I think it's been the last years's been terrific yeah I think I think what happens is with James yeah people people will see that in that they they big up so much the good times and when the bad comes they fall apart every gym gets a A CLI this is probably a third or fourth wave of prow coming through you know when you go right back as far as John Donley and then NE Seri and stuff and then the red Z and you know car and all them lines we different levels coming through um you know and this is the new problem coming through when James is lead the lead the charge there yeah quas no I was just like I was just going to say uh Russ you were saying that ever since you've joined team Royo they've gotten even better that's laughing but here Andy we're obviously in November now um just before we let you get back to what you're doing uh overall how do you think 2024 has gone so far for team Roo yeah good good like like good on on an all around gym where we you know we've the kidss roed up as far as the pros and yeah really really good you know once again we won the you know our champions of the kids as Su that's really really good we took a few medals at the war Masters there we you know gold medals and stuff so really really happy with that and then we've had you know our amateurs have been doing really well bad on injuries the second half of the year with with James and Derby that was a killer you seen Derby broke his finger operation you know so that was hard on him hard on James but yeah you know I think we've been doing well I think like if you look at the f team really outside of the amateurs our amateur are always doing well but outside of that we' kids am team as well doing well at the worlds and stuff but um a pro team like I think they're doing well I think like the the Jamie had a great Pro debut this year you know J Harris has had some great fights a tough last fight um you know good to see Solomon killing everyone good to see Lewis Bor make his Pro debut James world champion I can't ask right more really you know has been a good year has been successful year I think yeah yeah it's un undeniable you know what I mean like I said that that win rate has gone gone through the roof with and uh long may it last and it's great to see and yeah what's called I think um James Sheen lead leading the charge there and I can't wait to see him back in the cage because uh you know world champion um you know probably one of the main reasons cage Warriors feel confident to come back to to irand in 2025 yeah and I I I think they they need they need the card they need good guys in the car to sell them them venue you know because it is an expensive place to run a show Dublin you know it's expensive from start to finish you know what I mean so look if they come back I hope they get plenty of support I know they said I come back for two shows but I hope they get plenty of support there is plenty of gyms out there you know and I think as you see there's few SBG guys fighting in Italy wasn't it the weekend yeah yeah shout out Conor McCarthy yeah yeah and but did the guy he fight was trains in Johns H the guy no the guy Saul far had trained in Johns before and I think the potentially there seems to be a few Italians there like a l the same name to me at a start you know there's plenty of good orang out there good young young PR you know big 2024 hold let me bring it back in let me bring back you bring it back in you bring back in B you are that okay okay yeah so Ross yeah and the big 2025 lined up uh some big shows and like you say you need some big name sellers on the car to run those shows and D yeah some big some big stuff coming up yeah right right from the the kids right all of you are actually going to Target the European Masters for the AL you two guys in the gym so Russ you're in now old are you Russ 34 what there you you're you're coming we're going to Barcelona you're coming we can you can carry the bags or carry the water now you can come you that's the target for you put you on the spot list Bon there and he was great talk and Annie thanks very much for we're putting Ross on the spot now Euro Masters in uh next year R what day is that when I think it's May I think it's me that seems reasonable that seems reasonable right we'll do that thanks very miss us we're the guys with the glasses on yeah yeah if you didn't notice but uh Ross I know we had Andy on there and we were talking about clan wars and cage conflict but the thing is I tuned in cage conflict you tuned into clown wars and um I'm gonna ask you first what did you make of the clan wars event overall yeah I thought it was like really good show like without sound like too like funny about it like I like the production I think the production value was really really high uh I think like the walkouts are great um I think the cameras are brilliant I think like it looks like super bright and vibrant and I thought like the stream went really well like there was no lagginess to the stream so I thought that that was pretty good the only issue I had was I actually missed the Lewis burn fight but I was able to go back and watch it afterwards they uploaded the show quite fast afterwards like a 4 Hour show I had it and I was s of showing the clan wars logo or whatever their sort of default picture was in between fights and then I got a text be like lewisb first round submission and then I was like well I was like this isn't playing and then I refresh the stream and then then it CH SP celebra in the cage so uh that was my only one sort of neg negative um now look there was quite a few decisions but like obviously that's not something the promotion can really dictate uh it was what it was but uh I suppose I'll just go over the the championship fights I know we already sort of touched on uh Lewis burn so uh first winner was the first the first one R another team rhyo uh well team rhyo Waterford Solomon s's Brother Sam S got the win yeah another another sibling PA pairing under the team Ryo Banner um they love they love few siblings to do and you can only be a brother if you join team R Sam San he got rocked really bad really early uh Daryl Sullivan had some pinpoint striking and there was a few people saying robbery afterwards I think it was one of those fights where the first round was so decisive for Ohan that you know the second and third round were quite close and everyone's just like oh well he had to won that because I think if you looked at the fight as a whole but again like there three fights over the course three minutes if that makes sense so each round is scored irrelevant to what happened in the round previous so rounds two and three were really really clo close and one Georgia scored actually 3027 to Sullivan and the other two Georgia scored 2928 to Simon now look this fight was up in Belfast it was in no one's backyard H I don't think the judges had any bias towards one fighter over the other and yeah Sam San got the got the decision nod he's going home the clan wars Champion so uh fair play to him um again like it is amateur so it's great to get those tough scraps in so uh fair play to him and then um next up we had Billy suland yeah um he is the clan wars flyweight champion and now he is the clan wars Bantam way Champion he is now reach champ Cham status um again another Elite flyweight bantamweight in Ireland I'd love to see him H fight the likes of you know Kieran cougan Omas Oliver Keen mccarten you know fu as far as some of these guys um next cuz I'd say Billy suland is probably going pro soon enough yeah then Ross the next fight in the main event like we obviously twitched on Le burn but in the main event Peter halpy taking on Jamie mcaker this was voted the people's main event and it was the main event as well really was a bit of SPO in the bill up to to a point his prone of press conferences um face offs wearing the end glasses like what more do the people want iconic was iconic it was iconic uh look I think H Jamie maccer brought more of the eyes to this fight and he seems to Mas Mas quite the large following and quite the large presence in the MMA scene um and deserved he so some brilliant finishes in the buildup and he promotes the voice really really well but uh Peter alpy um obviously from no fear MMA but um doing a lot of training with the CAC boys Alex oan in his corner and um it was all oneway traffic around one and two for help me and then the exact same scenario except in Reverse with uh mcaker on top for round three and unanimous decision for help me he goes home Chomp Chom as well so CH chp's all around so overall what would you rate clam war is 50 give it a solid like eight and a half out of 10 um I enjoyed watching the show thought the level was really high um these These are these are the fights that people are trying to see oh that's good it was just a pity they both on the same day but like look and then obviously we touch on lewiis bur getting the win as well by the way one the submissions of the Year B that was that was insane well look when you get finishes like that big organizations are going to come knocking people want to know yeah maybe yeah maybe k um cage war is next who knows Ross who know there's PL plenty of options out there uh cage conflict was on over the weekend as well this is on you baso this is on me a lot of pressure like you know I mean I know shando is very annoyed us for uh for so let's see if he's tuned in now um I I thought like um let's start with the production I'd like to see the I'd like to see a better Lighting in the cage for the fighters uh like even in the main event Cory mccl was fighting Mar D Tano and uh like this like they they both sort of stood up and then slipped on the ground now I know that that more to do with the the gr the the actual mat but like maybe if it was a bit brighter you'd see it was a bit slippery over there um then I think I think like the three Lads John mccolligan Paul Hughes and uh Phil cbell did a great job Mike I like I feel like they did a great chemistry as well um I think that's actually also very important knowledge anyway yeah but the thing is they they only came on when it was the main card you know what I mean so like um what it was in no comp before that no okay yeah so uh that that sort of didn't really keep you it it just caught your attention more when well you you'd like to hope the like that was the case and there wasn't an error and they were doing commentary to no one well oh but no I think that happened last time when I tuned in as well actually okay um then one thing with both shows actually was when they're putting five posters for the winners um they weren't actually tagging the winners or I I think they I think they were eventually some of them but like it was very it wasn't given the Lo and attention that it probably should have been yeah which I think is also very important but uh we'll get into it Ross uh on the main card um some areas for provements for B like but like we only mean him with coin us yeah well I'm not I'm not slating him here I'm just no better yeah but people tuning in paying the money to have a watch also it was $10.99 Sterling for cage conflict and it was $ 14.99 Sterling for clown wars so um plus booking fees oh yeah yeah the booking fees as well just uh for just to see what the difference was gives the real price going forward it's like it's like America yeah it's like booking what I'm like I'm like clicking on it now then uh right Chloe Crower got the win over Louise Brady by a submission and that was in I think that was round one H so she's new Champion there uh then sorry excuse me oh Mass Oliver got the win as well he picks up the Bantam way title uh Michael Shields got the win he picked up the fedway title uh then we'll get into the comment on McDonald making his Pro debut against um Sanchez now the thing is watching this in the first round he had Sanchez in like a gill team and like he had him on the ground for absolutely age Sanchez was saying he was absolutely fine and then listen to the commentary they were saying that like McDonald looks absolutely spent then the second round Sanchez s picked up this the pace and in the third round as well when it went to when it went to decision according to the commentary you're being led to believe that it didn't go McDonald's way but then McDonald got the decision now looking at the when the hands when the decision was being read out Sanchez looked and his team looked very very disappointed in that then um I'm not sure I'm not sure how you're going to call that [Music] um I think McDonald came out afterwards and said he wasn't that impressed with his own performance but he was happy to get the win so probably let didn't know that you know McDonald wasn't Blown Away by his own performance no then uh in the main event Maro Toano defeated Cory mcen by decision um the Builder for this I felt like could have been a bit better like in the buildup Mario deletes his Instagram now I don't know if there there was something there was a reason for that but like when a big domestic Irish fight comes up and like we're like looking forward to it and like half like one half of the the main event has gone radio soent we didn't even know if the fight was gonna be on yeah not goingon to lie you I text sh and ask him the fight definitely happen because normally someone like deletes their Instagram and then all of a sudden something's come up and they pull their F that's that that tends to be the way things go um especially when you're making the artwork you're like is this person actually like fighting yeah was it just seemed strange did it may maybe it was a massive distraction for him and that's why he did it you know first pro for but uh will but he he is more of a quieter guy oh he definitely is he's definitely a bit more no you say on The Reserve side but uh you know if you're in the program promoting your voice is is part of the job so like yeah um I think it's important to do but uh look obviously Mario went out there and got the got the decision not um he got he got rocked early as well bz uh yeah in the first round Cory was sort of putting hands on him and then once Mario finished the second round on top I finished the first round on top it was sort of they you could have given that round to Corey then the second round Mario just sort of dominated him on like he was on top uh from the second round and the third round was sort of the same um I would have given the fight to Mario um it was a split decision but uh overall like I mean Mario's BJJ black belt and uh it was tough game is very ve very good like very SP yeah yeah do you know what I wouldn't say I'm not goingon to say I was shocked I'm not because I wasn't shocked but I was just like I was I was more I was actually very impressed how smothering his his his top game was that like it looked very hard for Cory to get out I know Cory like sped out a like a couple of times but um Mario he just looks like an absolute vet doing that so um for play it was um overall I think it was a great event um there was like there was like plenty of fights like the danda fights we had to cover over the weekend there including cage Warriors as well jumping back and forth to everything um overall it was H it was one of them nights for us where we're just working non-stop I think it finished just before 12 and um congrats to both to both Kars oh sorry to both clam Wars and cage conflict and hopefully next time they won't be on the same night Ross IM Premier was on as well like like who would have covered that who knows who knows we would had to we had would had to get a ringer in but one thing actually cage conflict did uh that I saw on socials that I was really impressed with as H own Mass Oliver after he won they brought in h Jason shenan uh into the cage for a face off and they that's their next opponent out H streaming from uh Z KJ Danny K JY so uh I like the way they already have a built up for the next uh next title fight there I think that's a really cool thing that you normally see on the pro scene but they did on the amateur scene thought that was really cool and uh shout out to Khloe Crower as well like that armar was really good and shout out to Lisa Brady for stepping up she was only two and0 I think at the time fighting someone like Chloe is who's so experienced that's incredible i' ra Chloe really highly on on on the women's scene at the moment I think she's putting together uh her last fight I think we at auma was against um Co yeah yeah and that like she went Toe to Toe with her and that I think she's actually fighting Kyo next in EUR Fighting Championship so uh the rematch baby uh shout out and then the Michael Shields versus junior no fight was really R tight as well so all around I thought I thought like both both cards both shows looks really really good from uh the bits I saw Cage conflict and from washingon Clan Wars some high amateur M and some great young Pros now on on the scene so uh hopefully uh we'll see Cory M Lin maybe on the next cage conflict uh you know redeem that that loss and get back in the win column yeah and it's up to these guys and girls like go back and make an even bigger name for themselves next time as well um Ross would you like to see next from on McDonald I think I I think maybe something something similar I think uh maybe another fight on the cage conflict scene um get himself really sort of immersed into that Pro game H I'm sure it was far more nerve-wracking fighting a pro than it was his last fight amateur I feel like there's a lot more on the line H he's got a young family and stuff that so you know obviously that's that's part of how he provides him so I'd love to see him maybe fight again like hor mlock on the next cage conflict card and then pick up pick up another win yeah they mentioned on the broadcast as well that ow hadn't fought since February and that Sanchez had fought a month ago so interesting yeah and the transition from three minutes to five minutes uh 4 his hometown yeah there's a lot of pressure there like there really really is and and a lot more pressure than you know fighting for an amateur title like fighting Pro like mean something really does so uh yeah it it was a massive step up for him and look he got his hand raised I'm sure he he's not thrilled with his performance but he's walking out there with the w you know what I mean look dwin is the most important thing like even as tan lck ran said last time as well he wasn't overly impressed with his performance as well but look you're better off being not impressed by your performance getting the win rather than being very impressed in news absolutely and then what what would you like to see next from Mario Mario like he's he's actually someone who maybe a cage Walkers is a good sh for him you know what I mean like he's a BJJ black belt H he's gone one and0 he beat Cory mman someone who we both right really really highly yeah and he's someone who was you know really successful on the amateur scene I think cers obviously SG have that great uh relationship with pfl and Bellator Maybe we see him somewhere over there um I I think uh he's going to give any anyone a bit of trouble like no one's going to find it easy against him um he's very very technical fighter so yeah I I I think either pfl or Bellator or cage is next but again I wouldn't be against seeing him on the local scene it's just as we touched on you know when is the next local show I think um he fought in Clan Wars before that so maybe Clan as well like those two are the ones that are putting on uh professional fights on a regular basis uh in IR I know you're do do some professional fights as well so it could be there uh but i' love to see him also actually maybe fight in AR one more time before going pro or before pushing on the pro career yeah well the thing is a lot of people would have been tuning in to see Corey as well as well as Mario but uh I think like a lot of people like I think Cory Corey was really selling that card so uh shout out to B vense as I said hopefully next time they won't be on the same night so uh we'll be able to get up there uh Ross shout out to the Irish OA team competing this week from the 5th to the 10th and um that's um usbekistan yeah usbekistan yeah have you ever been there no I don't think it probably ever will be but that's that's where the team is gone or gone so uh best luck to all them out there uh Amy scoly is I know if she's defending or looking for another goal but uh she's definitely um one to watch out for she's uh she's looked seriously impressive in all her fights uh so far um so I can't wait to watch and see how how that team does uh one person I don't know if you're going to him next but uh I did want to ask you about what did you make of Conor McCarthy's performance in cage rers I thought he looked um I thought he looked I think like when he walked out I thought he looked like a star in the Mak um I think jry Harris even touched on the on the shorts as well like they're sort of like a bit of a hot stepper yeah they you see they look a bit like they're like a bit like te or te's but it's said white with the orange flame and then a bit of green on it as well to get the Troy color in there um aure is fin usure yeah um like the guy who's fighting actually had a Conor McGregor tattoo on his arm which is funny but uh I thought he look good like at at the beginning I was like look this guy's fighting is uh has got a lot of experience as a pro I think your man was eight and four and uh Conor got a good uh he got went to decision he won by decision and um he was getting he was getting a good old push as well from cage Warriors in the buildup so I think it was great the way he got the win and that's the thing now with K come back to like he he sells a lot of tickets from people from Clan so like the already has might be too small depending on how many names getting there especially if you got a Max L in there he could probably set out the arena himself so maybe they're going to have to go I don't where they going to go yeah I think that's Ireland's biggest issue at the moment H it was touched on there at the weekend UFC that like three Arenas too small for UFC event even though they've held to there uh and like for cage Warriors is the three Arena potentially too big or like too expensive for the amount of seats they sell like just say you sell seven or 8,000 like how profitable is that like do you have to sell the 13,000 to make a actually profitable 13,000 is a lot of tickets to sell like where the other Arenas in the middle of all that you know what I mean so it can be quite difficult to do um right sorry what about the one they're talking about Callum Callum wal is always talking about in Cork yeah I I don't really know about that Arena or what the what it actually looks like I think that's a massive thing about like what what capabilities does it show like or does it have there um like what sort of rigs can you put up in the place I mean how big is the ceiling etc etc those sort of things like matter when you're putting on a show especially if cage Warriors so Brian Manning sells a lot of tickets as well yeah no definitely there's a lot of people who who will be uh selling quite a few tickets and I feel like kers could do like quite a big card like card was huge the weekend yeah but you know what even all the the the lads from for Academy AR they sell a lot of tickets as well so like that maybe they go back up to the what's it called The Odyssey and Belfast Odyssey yeah yeah well like you look at this way you have for Academy Ireland CAC team Ryo team Tores team KF you know bring BR man on board that's MMA cork SBG nce SBG Charlestown like just adding like those three games is probably an extra what 6 700 tickets minimum like just on a like default you know what I mean so I think I think there's plenty ticket sellers there uh I think they're you know they need a good size venue yeah they definitely they could have a new new G for us give us the tour but sh shout out to I just want to say personally shout out to Conor McCarthy thought uh he beat a very tough pound and I think that's probably what he needed someone who wasn't W be put away that easily that had like a great chin on him Conor mcarthy H him some extra shot excellent shots and he also took a big shot at the end of the first and like impos himself and got back in there so something that we haven't seen really happen to him on the amateur scene his Bo is extremely slick that was a great test from him and he passed it so so like yeah let's see what happens in the future uh speaking of the future what a transition Ross imado Gary versus W Booky UFC Tampa December 14th yeah your main event five rounds I can't wait for I can't wait for yeah what you make it that transition I think uh 9 out 10 B 10 yeah but Ross what's you make of this main event I think stly it's as good of a fight as you can get for the fans like Bley versus inar out on the feet I can't wait to see it um I think it's going to be a bit of a ball in the Matador I think Ian's going to be the Matador and W book is going to be the ball um you know was I sort of underlyingly hoping to get inar versus shakka like absolutely undefeated versus undefeated I would have been here for that um obviously you know Ian and Colby have had a bit of back and forth but looks like kobby wouldn't sign um you know Ian Ian also had a bit of back and forth with Usman nothing sign seem to be Booky was the only one willing to step up so look I'm here for it but uh it leaves the W away in a bit of limbo the title picture do you know you what some of the bigger name guys don't want to fight in because if they lose they they they they won't have they won't be in a total contention situation again you're P the downside of losing to I at the moment is much larger than the upside him cuz if they if beat Gary he former world champion he was expected to beat him that's that's the narrative if he won and then if he lost they'd be like oh well there's a new erir of talent here he's washed yeah that you see they're they feel like this has been their whole almost safer fight it's almost safer fighting their own like Usman and Colby to fight each other again is almost like a better fight for them because yeah or throw in Leon Edwards yeah exactly or yeah any well maybe Leon Edwards could be the guy maybe he's the one who fights shavat for an interim title yeah but that that that that's exactly the point they're like like they see all their stocks drop if they lose the in as well yeah although I didn't see Leon Edwards put his hand up to F chavat at 310 though I know yeah which is was interesting like I look at at least we're going to end the year strong for Irish MMA as well and like hopefully he gets the job done as well um I also feeling sha B's going be on that card as well yeah she she's definitely putting out some pictures uh with some eyes she's insinuating something Russ yeah she's not just looking around yeah she's not just looking around uh also octagon on this weekend uh MMA cors Jack McGuire gonna be is going to be on the card and then Ross UFC was on over the weekend Brandon Moreno won by decision and eron blanchfield as well won by decision and this weekend UFC Vegas 100 B Neil mag taking car taking on Carlos pratez and the com event Cody gbrand against miles Jones who are you picking baso jez I'm just gonna go neon Magny for the crack board and then the weekend after J Man the police are coming after you oh no J pick PRM sorry uh the weekend after us UFC 309 Jon Jones versus TP meage and yeah and then the day after cage gladiators is going to be on as well so like make sure to come back next week and tune in cuz uh who knows who could be the guest Ross who knows
