introduce the guest man today we are bringing two of the most famous faces in Irish Sports as the Anna Joy show with Wolves we have head coach of Team KF it's Mr Chris Fields I'm the head coach of fight Academy around it's Liam Shannon Lads how are we doing yeah yeah I should ask you one after the other yeah as always disappearing in nailed the screen the green screen playing Freddy when we bore we we should carry on anyway um Chris tell us this uh what did you make of cage Warriors Dublin you've been a part of many and you fought on the cage Warriors promotion you've been the champion there how do you think that fared up against wounds of the past and you know warns of presence obviously not being in Ireland yeah I I think um I think there's a lot of like stigma or stigmas the wrong term but like I think there's a lot attached to the old fights so I think there's this idea that like you know it was the greatest atmosphere ever because I think like everything [Music] well if you remember it better than it was a lot of times you know they were amazing shows back in the day but I feel like that kind of blew a lot of them out of the water the the response from the crowd when all the guys from both teams are walking out you know the the kind of the ravenous of them like for the fighter and it felt like and I felt different uh it felt like uh like a lot of people there understood the sport that's what it felt like you know they actually you know there were fans of the sport itself yeah that oh definitely got the buffet and obviously like there was shots from Mike Hogan and Bellator and stuff like that and I thought that was I thought that was really Petty I thought that was sort of singing to a level that didn't need to be sung to um look I think every promotion has its place and I think cage Warriors knows exactly what it does and it does it brilliantly and uh I was delighted to have it in the Woodland and I was great to be back there sorry I I just think like there's a like you know if you look at the fights around that cage Warrior's card and the fights that both of our teams had and you know myself and Liam um there's always a mad mutual respect between us me and him are good friends too uh but it's like it's Airline it's our teams leading the way at the minute you know where Earth teams are the guys leading the way and I feel like if you look at the fights that took place their high stakes fights that's the difference this is Sport it's not entertainment it does cross over but it's Sport and it's like the lads fighting like like real fights they're not showing up to get wins and handed wins or any of that kind of stuff there are real fights that are going on and they're important you know what I mean and it's a different it's totally different animal than a lot of other people I feel yeah I think the best are pitted against the best 99 of the time I feel like like you said each fully matters on the card we were only saying that like obviously it was a busy night for us in the back as well uh trying to interview about every single person ordered the song um we're saying like oh we're looking up off the card as we know what we do when we're at the events we're like right who do we want the interview and we're like right 14 points 14 inch views you know what I mean so like I was like I was like it's probably not gonna be as much fun as we wanted to be but like great Royals and make and what's up what's good for oil let's go for the Android show so uh we love that on vice versa so uh yeah it was an incredible no obviously uh Sean though you had you had a good few boys fighting for in total and uh obviously Reese became was in the main event what did you make make the show and obviously you didn't get to relax until it was all over yes well again it was exactly what Chris was saying like this the show would it bring something different you know what I mean to the the Ireland in general um it is like close by tigers like ran into passing that's a high stake fee um for the fellow we had uh Eliminator you know what I mean and dick until the last year and it was if it was rand's Faith to lose one I mean of course it didn't go his way but these are these are real Farms turn up the west and support the guys um and kids Warriors don't really do themselves and they just buy the under promoting it um because these are length of one of the best shows they're going to use in Europe um but what I call it it's just a different animal completely different animal like as you say we've got a lot of guys fighting like sort of some wins some losses they'll learn eight and all like we rank horses I thought it was something really really good and um until it has even happened they could cut the ball go too but I guess for him and his career it's it's a high stake fight it's not just some guy that bring it over from the middle of nowhere to get an absolutely we know what's working at heart Fates same as Chris because they were we're looking the the rule at eight and try and get the next level um next we'll get guys come by McCain McLaren come back a few years ago his last name was Christian Leroy Duncan um I know but basically what I said and he was obviously Talking to Ourselves was they get the last thing I said then was there is no tomorrow you could beat here that's it forget about it I mean he has all that rain on the shoulders now putting that pressure on him to let him know that this is I think I'll win our boss situation um and that's what we're here for we're all in see him as Chris and his guys and they're real genuine Fates and I get the Showcase lawyers crosses over to the generals Raul and Justin needed for the supporter I'm sure used to as well watch all the the big shows on that this one in the build of two we were saying is like our uoc Dublin like just the names on the card like everyone isn't like is building towards the UFC uh some of them maybe want to go to pfl or a Bellator but like in the atmosphere itself like Chris you were obviously at the last years he went at Conor took on Diego Brando did you have a feeling that like in the atmosphere it was sort of like a UFC event or like what way did you sort of see it yeah you know it's like a it's like a like a smaller UFC event I suppose you know it's a I think that's what cage Warriors try to do anyway that's they they know like they've kind of set their their stall level as they're that you know and you can see um you know had that like ravenous uh kind of environment when the lads came out to fight you could feel like even uh obviously the same machine though I was busy all night so I literally only got to uh come out and watch for um for reasons why and you could feel the crowd building with him as he's going to you know the fight's starting to go his way you can feel the crowd building and I could feel the same when I was in the corner with Ryan you can feel and then almost boom total deflation when the fight didn't go wrong's way you know the whole room empties almost all the air gets soaked out uh but like but like milim's the same as me man I I want those UFC knights in Dublin and I wanted and I I wanted to be air teams like I think we deserve that I think we put the effort in to have that you know and we're going about it the right way and you can see it you can see what we're all doing and you know me and Liam kind of have a team like we're not we're not big fans of ergo's finding each other a pro you know unless it's something major but we we kind of we orange sharpens iron at amateur so Lads compete a lot at amateur and then that brings them into the pro ranks and then you know unless it's like a big UFC fight or something like that well then obviously working people like yeah I think I think that I think we're all building towards that and I think you know I'm looking forward to the time in the main Channel where like they're out the back and it's a UFC show you know that kind of way and I'm looking forward to it like yeah I don't think it's too far in in the near future as well like obviously you know Kayla knock around want the weekend like he must be very very close to UFC fight if not his next fight might be in the UFC obviously like Paul used on the coast person and then like Reese McKee 13 wins 13 finishes on the novel and I just feel the more stars we get in the UFC then that will bring on the next tribe of talent like your Royal and jellies like um your Leon Hills you know Patty McCarthy after here's when the cage Warriors like you know I mean like that that was absolutely Sensational and then obviously the other lives on page whereas like Alex was Sullivan like he got a thorn and warm and Adam Darby look really good after his comeback not forgetting Omron Siobhan as well he's looking hot in the world away division you know and I feel like James Sheen was maybe a game um you have to really see like in two or three years now down the line like Ireland's probably gonna have more UFC fighters than they've ever had before would you guys agree with that we'll start with yourself Flame um yes I've actually had this conversation now I'm literally about an hour and a half ago I was taking a big party on the pods and we're just saying like the level like I mean compared to what I when I train them probably Chris this year when we trained that we were going around individual coaches and pay them five or six different memberships the gyms and this and that and all I'm trying to make it work we're now like where this is we've learned so much of Kim the sport has came on to unfold and the talent gone behind the guys the the amount of like people in our gym who are coming behind the Paul accusers or Alexa there is my keys are all these boys opening up they're going to open up the doors and they're going to build the connections and hopefully let the people who make these decisions they give the first wave um the opportunity that they'll realize well who else have you got here Randy because that's really I don't know we just need one or two guys from Ireland to open the door for the rest of the guys in Ireland and as you say Alexa load loads come from Chris was saying that we're trying to lead the way I'm trying to open these opportunities which in turn will open up for the rest of the guys coming free and bailing I'm hoping how many maybe 20 25 guys ready to go like to be honest and I know Chris of this here he's building up his protein and again he's just needs that that lead jewel in the crown to get him in like obviously years ago um it was a different whole climate you know what I mean I was able to Conor McGregor but I had the killer Nelson just before it it was a massive star when he fought in um cage Contender you know we never sell his pay-per-views back the Asylum even before MMA was really big that's what got spgn and then the Conor McGregor and then who else did we get and obviously the Chris and the car holes and the Autumn laws they all follow suit so like so somebody it could be anyone it could be killing it could be Paul it could be racing could be Ali one to get in them some of you would say that and then once they go they go on that level and they'll go hold on this Ireland has a real high level here and then they might look more at the guys who are participating in Ireland and giving them opportunities because I have like what's in the face on it yes he fits they have no fear of anyone that top 15 for Paul cues at all like in that announcements latest no I mean two fades yeah I think we need more bodies in there to send the elevator back down as they say yeah exactly that's exactly the Fuller look back there and it could be somebody from across the team and Company someone it just needs the door open and then when the foot's in the door the wrestler boys will come through and they're they're like slow burners they're slowly building their weapons and they're they're building their careers and then they get there and hopefully when they get there a little mad how one or two Fates and then be cut they'll be here for a career you know what I mean yeah on like fingers crossed not only will we get more bodies in the UFC but like obviously lowland has this European stronghold over the UFC at the moment like they're they love going to London and like London's great and all that but like we need to claw them back here at stolen like any time we speak to the UFC brass or straight onto them like you have to come to Dublin you have to come I mean like yeah why would they listen to you yeah I think the problem I think the problem with that is that like uh they they the the like the the main guy from Ireland obviously at the moment is uh Connor and he's too big to be in Dublin so we we need like we need like Paul and Reese and those boys to get in and then it'll be dragged back to them you know because they can definitely headline a fight a fight night or they can be on a fight night and sell the tickets and then like all that those are like like say Paul there Paul say Paul got to find you see if he stuck for a couple of bodies or he wants a few extra new bodies to train but Ryan and stuff are gonna go up with him they're only going to benefit from that they're not everyone's only going to benefit from that you know what I mean the lads are going to get better like I said it's not a matter of like Paul and Ryan foreign way down the line anyway it's not even thought of you know kind of way uh it's like like being part of a UFC Camp is going to benefit everyone you know and then a lad falls out and there's a Federal Way fight and this guy's been helping your whole Cam he's the perfect good step in this is how it works like you know Chris like obviously Ian's competing this weekend and um I look at Ian and I look at Connor the only the only two Irish Lads in the UC and the difference is that Conor said if one of us goes War we all go to war and like you brought everyone in and then I saw Ian was on PT Carroll's podcast and then Pete he said who do you think would be next in and he only really said Paul heels and that's it like like I don't think that really helps the audio scene when the person who's in there I'm the most active voice recorder in the UC isn't really saying they're not sending the elevator back down bus is that what you're saying the elevator is not going back down like even Danny McCormick and Victor like we have three cage Warriors Champions like the more you go on about who's next the more they're gonna be like right all these names come on aboard yeah I think an issue might be like you know he isn't training in an Irish gym he's not based in Ireland so like he doesn't not that he doesn't have an affinity to earning he's Irish so like of course he does but I mean he doesn't have an affinity to Irish Fighters or or an Irish gym so like he's he he his team is putting guys in all the time he doesn't feel the need to have to drag them in you know that kind of like yeah I think I think it was sort of a fact to seeing though but I mean like you can't really rely on other people for you to progress your career you sort of have to grab blood balls and go by yourself uh Irish world champions at the moment and that's what it's all about so that you just always got to be ready for that opportunity um what I called and it's it's not a good being like the best yeah sometimes the best players don't get to read or get to the EFC and the translators don't get sometimes it's all of a chance to unlock and be in the right place the right time and I think um we are doing a ring but just hopefully that chance does appear soon no I mean never can't take it but um I know like in the past obviously like as I said before we don't want to be a little the token guy on a European so we want to be your own Mart um I think the level to be honest now of competitors and I don't know if there's the house that's ever been for for many years I mean uh MMA in general is such a even amateur levels it's like very very high level in Europe they were made um but I feel it it's just some things people say after me all the time going I know but just gotta keep on pushing doing what to do it's frustration because we know we're ready all right I'll come again Chris guys are rally and all it's just we just got off and keep on this road and and just be determined that it's going to happen it's going to happen because we're ready yeah I I think ideally the UFC would do more European travels I think the lack of European shows are what's hurt in the European scene in terms of photos getting to the UFC I think because they tend to just do the London trials and they have so many UK Fighters already but that card is nearly full before it's announced I suppose if they did three or four European cards yeah there'd be far more opportunity because like from a business standpoint a champion the LFA champ is already in the States you know I mean you're just flying them across country and you're putting up it's it's obviously cheaper from a business standpoint to do that but like at the end they someone like recently he's got the stage now where he's undeniable like to me he's he's what the UFC are looking for you they want finishers there's a finisher you want a cage Warrior Champion there's a case Warriors Champion like he takes all the boxes I know I know there's there was that narrative after Paul B Jordan that was like oh it was a decision but like that fight could have been stopping the turret it could have been stopping the fourth I know what about annoy lived like he's fighting a UFC level going in Jordan view tennis and like he beat him from pillar to pulse and I love vote Jordan view challenge I think he's one of the nice guys in the game but that's how the fight went down and like are you telling me because the ref didn't actually step in and start that fight that like that I shouldn't get the UFC contract because that just seems as far as gone at this stage yeah but see that's that's I think obviously we always here at free for parties go on I need to get a stop each I needed France last year let a few kids wear a shoe previously before that was the build guys they give the DSC in France and at nearly likes of uh maripan and Morgan Sherry you know labor all prime rally one more win UFC is going to pause this is your opportunity no I mean that didn't work good for them like that you know what I mean so that's what I'm saying about the not naturally being the most deserving person it's just that the chips failed the right way foreigners um or English based energy or whatever British um and if so came the island then of course there would they would have seen a few hours guys that's just the way it is but they're not going to go out so we're they're not going to come to the island only team soon so we have to take the scraps and hopefully take um I mean like what Paul was after a few Fates on the ESC in London uh card and late notice but it didn't see us he was Carolyn Andrea it was a wrong with division just things that not up and to be honest with I don't think we deserve they just jump in at last minute four Paul or for Annie Aries Trader to be just a kind of like a flyby yeah but Russell can we just go back in a second just uh UC 288 is going to be in Boston and like everyone knows how many Irish are going to be will be there and like live there do you think that'll be a perfect opportunity for the luxury kale and adani and uh appall to get onto that card and really like put a like a huge Irish audience on that card Chris uh yeah like also obviously I was there uh the last time we had a big Irish contingent in Boston uh all the boys are fine on it Carl and all those Lads and um and Connor and uh I think Patty hoolin was on that card as well we had a big one with Ariel didn't he well talk about tea or something yeah yeah that's it yeah yeah yeah the team Boston Tea Party but uh the like like that's that's obviously a smart idea and you know you know like Paul's there Paul Paul like from performances deserves to go at this point you know what that's how I feel I I like Liam knows me a long time and anyone that's around me or I just call things as they I see them you know I'm never gonna if I didn't think Paul deserve to be there I'd say I don't think he's ready yeah I think Paul desera speeder I think if you're coming if you're coming out of that group if you're standing out of that group that he was involved in he probably like deserves to go now he needs another level of competition he only needs to jump up uh for himself as an athlete he needs that he needs that like uh like a few Topher scraps or you know and that's what the EOC offers because he's kind of up he's almost passed out the scene here at the moment you know uh so that'd be nice to see Paul maybe in Boston or someone that'd be cool um but that's that's a that's a smart plan but you'll see to throw a few Irish girls get to try Colors Over You Know yeah I'd love to see it and I absolutely I think that's that's the way way to do it and yeah and I was just looking earlier I was just saying about the contingencies like I don't even think those guys before you Contender series but I think you win the battle cage workers you should go straight in I think that's the level of that like if you're trying to tell me that the worst fella in each division in the UFC wouldn't get beaten by the cage Warriors Champion I think that's a whole other level of delusion I think um the the Dana White Contender serious thing I think that's different I think like you know to me that's uh so the way I went about things is like I was like I need to make something happen at a certain point you know I was getting older did it so I did the The Ultimate Fighter that's what the danaway contender series is to me Labs that are like my favorite is easier yeah but the last that are winning for example winning well they deserve to just go in on their own Merit not fighting some random guy in on it on a show to see if you get the opportunity or not like you know and then other Lads that may be just trying to make something happen maybe you've had like uh like two wins but before that they were coming off too law says that's what the day in awaken Tennessee is for me like do you think it gives the the cage Warriors a bad look knowing that you used to just be you get you get you win the belt and then next up you're going to the UFC whereas now it almost seems like you have to win three times look at like a George Hardwick as well um well just I don't know it's it's hard to say I mean I hate because obviously after cool but then I putting all these um shows on all the time I think they're probably polluted the divisions they're kind of going by hold on we're we're half the absolutely no contractual obligations to give people Fates so I think maybe sometimes that some divisions are a lot more stacked than others and some things that you're in you're you're in a big Division and they can't afford to bring you on that particular team which is the case for Paul initially after he won the belt that's what we were told I mean the the whole division follower division is not really stacked that is weird a wee bit now enamel guessing sort of know what I mean uh give us a few months so that's what we were told and probably the same as George and maybe when I go to Christian Leroy Dogman like he went because I think the middleweight division is very weak I mean it was laid happy the same as having maybe the same as fly with or is certain partner with fallow it's late where it's well it's made there may be a lot more um people saying the leasy and maybe that's really like you know first obligation is to is they get their own space before we look at elsewhere yeah it's uh it's definitely an interest in the landscape and it's definitely one that's tough to navigate to say the least um but I I do also want to bring it back to to the guys that you do have on the open up um Liam tell us what's next for probably the biggest winner of the night at um cage Warriors and Dublin uh well one of the biggest winners Paddy McCarthy what did you make of his performance because that was Sensational and how soon would you like to see him out again because there are two Floyd knees and one four years no mean feat he was walking around 86 kilo and James is an absolute Big Unit you know what I mean he is yeah it is you imagine Chris in the neighbor fourway-ins that James was able to go to then had two Nando's doubled up with mice and all the axes and still make the way without doing any saunas or Cuts you know what I mean so good in a while though it are quite a bit more read on because at the higher level um technique and it's the full package strength technique Fitness style of everything is all instrumental to making you successful or party was naive that way you thought that I just could buy if I have a skill set and it's something it's not about a skill set and there can't be no weak opponents at this level and then you learned an awful lot that loss and he was obviously again James is a world champion and hopefully gonna be an older world champion here in a few weeks uh what a call but for me it was good for Pat as a learner curve as an individual as a young guy realizing that this sport needs an awful lot of kind of strings there bow so we've put an awful lot of muscle all night or strength programs and that type of stuff we haven't taken over like he he does stuff in the Germany's like um very looking at Satan fader he tried stuff he's confident and um we want to keep magnet we'll put all our every one of our guys names for forward for the cage Warrior showing in Wales in the first of July um because the one in Roman 29th we have kids conference at nature we can't attend that and going forward and we just want to keep our boys active you know what I mean our party has been approached by like numerous people last week and management things and doing this and doing that because of it but we know he does that all the time in the gym backstage of us before warming them up like we were doing all that stuff and all and stuff never messed at me what it leads on to you afterwards and you know what I mean in the assets of a mess today and there's so much they can't really actually yeah I I actually showed him that flying knee when he was down training with me he's solid the kid the kid's solid it was and it was good to have him down good for my guys to get some training with him he's like very bright future there I'm looking forward to seeing how he progresses nice kid too we're willing to learn head down no [ __ ] you know he's still only my three and one is his career he's still a long way to go he's saying the king kids wears for our few Fates I mean Brave her look at him and a couple of our shoes We're not on during the week and now we're saying always saying for kids wears and um it's a learning to learn a process we're no we're no racial party and he's going to get there and hopefully he impacting he matures to the likes of uh we have a few and Chris has a fee in New Year see so he'll naturally progress in the right level at the rate stages career in Lily yeah so that's what we want you know what I mean because obviously you know anytime there's a show I normally 10kf walk out with with the winning records you went 500 you had two wins and two losses what did you make of uh Adam Shelley and Leon's Performance obviously yeah they were both spectacular in their own right and then what would you what was the sort of talk like with taka and Ryan after their fights yeah so uh for me like um so we'll start I'll start with Adam just like you know I've been saying this to people for a while and anyone that's been around that I didn't even watch how he moves in the gym he's just super slick real graceful with his movement and he finally got to show some of that off there which was nice and uh you know very happy for Adam he's starting to get um I think like a little bit like myself and I thought he struggles a bit with the like getting like you never get 100 but 80 even knock off out there you know because the nerves and the night and the occasion and that's starting to come right from now so I'm very happy with that that was a main takeaway with Adam was how calm he was with the whole thing even with the crowd that would add me alive man I would have like I wouldn't you wouldn't have seen on my face but I would have been [ __ ] myself he's like yeah the kids like uh he's a he's a Workhorse he's um you know I think he isn't getting enough credit for that fight because I think it was so one-sided that people didn't understand before the fight people thought that was going to be tight and he just went through just rent room yeah like some Ballers black belt and everything our team towers and like they're known for projects and like you control them on the ground fairly handly to be honest yeah I think it just looked so one-sided the people kind of die you just bath at them you know just uh I'll be completely honest I think the occasion got attacked a little bit um and he didn't show up uh that happens too you know someone will have to address uh you know we we deal with some um sports psychology so maybe that's a road to go down with that and then with Ryan I the only way I can explain mine is it's probably the reason we love this sport so much that anything can happen you know what I mean it's just you're winning you're coasting everything's going well and then Bang yeah like that was a heartbreaking moment because like obviously he was winning the fight and but like that's the thing where Ella harella's one of those people who's in there until the final Bell and like he does have that one shot power and like unfortunately like when I end up on the receiving end up but like it goes to show how high level Ryan is because most of the time you know Paradise in this sort of War almost but Rome was like systematically beating him so like it was that it was great performance I don't think his duck goes down after that In fairness no I I do think though it's a good thing that um not a good thing [ __ ] losses are never good but like I think like like rowing debuted less than two years ago and his co-main of ending a cage Warriors card and you know so like maybe pump the brakes a little bit you know and you see that they had always enough for it because uh harilla's gone to danaway Contender series now as well so maybe a little pump at a break slow things down and let you see how Paul responded to like his first loss and you know you get you just mature and you get better you know because of that sofa now I think it's all that's all part of fun and that's all part of figuring it out at this level you know so Chris what's sort of next for your team KF as well um like Liam's have to tell us he wants to get Lads on the cave tour as Wales car and he's also going to be running cage conflict SummerSlam uh Chris when can we watch the team KF back in action uh so we're gonna be I'd say we'll have a couple of boys on the Wales card and then we'll be filming up that London card uh with Webby fighting for the belt at the top and then um I'll be looking to have a few Lads on leam show we've always kind of uh been on lean shot to give him the bells back as well but uh we've always supported Liam show he's always like kind of uh being good to us and got us matchups whenever we need them and stuff like that so yeah like so we'll have a noise level run now a few armies out on that but um it approach will be on those cage Wars cards between London and Wales and then I suppose for both you guys it's a noise finish the year known that November is uh Kate Warriors Dublin again so it'd be a nice way that would probably be your your end of year finish for for the pros on on both your teams I would imagine we'll probably have all our guys saying that he asked you pound to be honest that's what we like to hear chandelier I love the confidence uh quick quick quick last one for uh you Chris if uh James Webb is Victorious over in London July 21st are we claiming for warriors world champions ah yeah webbies webby's Irish I had to check this which I know a long time ago actually and he'll remember this conversation uh oh yeah I I was like so I was like is it okay if he puts a try color besides yeah uh like an English flag like is that okay or will it cause any issues and Sean was like no no I have a way that you [ __ ] The Lads I return English you know I don't know if a Union Jack would have been okay but the the English flag is an English ladder but he's an Irish lad you know so it's it's not it doesn't seem to be an issue and he he's one of us he's Andy towns and he's one of us [Laughter] look it was it was an absolute pleasure to have his own we really do appreciate the time um two absolute gents uh really enjoyed the conversation um we probably have this conversation a million times over and it would go a
