Diogo Ramos was born in Madeira - an island better known for Ronaldo than for MMA. There was no scene there to speak of. Diogo trained at Knuckleheads MMA under Simon Shaw, a one coach gym, and the UK scene adopted him.

Years later, Madeira boasts two of the most exciting bantamweights in UK amateur MMA, not forgetting Romeu Nobrega (@romeu_coelho22).

Diogo has never turned down an opponent, always taking whoever's offered first. It shows: six of his thirteen amateur opponents have won or competed for amateur titles themselves. Tough opposition which shaped his development.

He was 2-5 early in his career. Since then? Six straight wins, unbeaten for over three and a half years.

His last three wins have all come in title fights - two against home-town UK staples, Zach Fry in Preston and Tom Harvey in Liverpool, both ended by submission. 

No shortage of excitement. No telling what his ceiling is.
