There was a lot of darkness around that fight. That was a lot of emotions in that fight.
It was a threat on both sides, both dangerous men, both dominant champions, both great in different ways.
But as a fan of Connors, it hurt me.
I suppose the thing I want to touch on because we haven't got much time,
it's just you spoke about that feeling of the Khabib and Connors fight and how you want to turn that.
Just can you go into a bit of detail on that again?
I'm obviously have been and am for a long time a Conor fan. He's the reason I got to
the sport he inspired me. He changed the landscape of Irish MMA for good when he did what he
did winning the cage war, his belt signing to the UFC and having such a massive impact
on Irish MMA but MMA across the globe. As a fan of his that was the height of his career.
He was the man, the guy, and that fight, there was a lot of darkness around that fight.
There was a lot of emotions in that fight.
It was a threat on both sides, both dangerous men, both dominant champions, both great in
different ways.
But as a fan of Connors, it hurt me when Kebib went out there and won that fight and it
irritated me because I wanted to see that man go out there and beat him.
I have a chance now to rewrite history a little bit here and go out and beat the project.
Islam was present that night.
Islam was present at the Wayans when they faced off Conor and Khabib.
To me there is an underspoken part about this that I want to go back and get that for him
but get that for my country.
And then we can do the dance a second time and I'll beat him again to know that we're
better than them.
