energizer up the irish okay what's going on guys and welcome to a brand new episode of energized the face off russ introduced the guest spot today we have about from the cage warriors bantamweight division two up-and-coming prospects we've got rhys mckeown and kingsley crawford lads how are we doing yeah i'm good thanks how i can't complain what about yourself kingsley yeah i'm good right now welcome to the show boys welcome to the show lads and the bantamweight division in cage warriors is really hot at the moment there's loads of fights going down and people are unsure whether dominique wooden is going to fight again for the promotion uh kingsley what's your take on the state division at the moment i mean dom he is he's um he pretty much cleared out the division and i'm just right behind him and again the leftovers i don't think the division is strong right now interesting taking it reese what's what's your take on the division especially with wins reasoning from uh luke shanks and kailyn lochran yes that's definitely wide open but um i do think this fight is like this fights it's hard technology it's definitely number one contender fight like that's my personal opinion anyway like that is wide open there's there's probably a lot of there's a lot of people that are okay and i won't get around the division but uh my personal opinion when i seen kingsley crawford's last fight i thought he he's up there like he's up there after i went over reading james and william gettings i i stiff he's definitely got the most impressive run in the division so um that's why it's an exciting that's why i think it's a number one contender fight anyway and he got kings his name do you think uh that that's this is a big step up in competition this is the hardest fight i've ever got oh yeah well definitely he's the most experienced person that i went in to fight so he said i haven't pro fights but it's not just all having pro fights um at local shows he's been fighting cage warriors for the last four years so um you know definitely but like i said like that's what you're fighting for you're fighting to fight the best people that you can and he's definitely one of the toughest fights in the division that's why i wanted it yeah this fight is definitely going to be visible the cage warriors 144 141 london on july 22nd if you want to get tickets make sure to jump uh in cage warriors do you know we are do you think this is the time to make that room for the belt and you think uh you're one or two wins away from getting that called the ufc um obviously my teammate still has the belt so that that situation has to get sorted but first but if he does drum ship do you think you're an excellent for that belt of course if when he's done with it he can't just give it to me it stays in the gym and then kingsborough that was a good idea tell us about that new state-of-the-art facility gb top team after building has that actually improved your game with those sillies yeah because it's a bigger space we can get more people in before we were just just going to other gyms to train and we go with this side that side but now we've got one big place everyone can come yeah good and then um tell us this kingsley when reese's name came to you what's it what did you make of that as an opponent for yourself because you fought nearly the who's who cage warriors bound the way to this stage well cage with his descend quite a few new bantamweights i believe at the end of the year so i had to look him up and yeah i'm impressed he's is that he looked like a strong boy you know he's he hasn't had too many um he's still quite quite new to cage work but obviously i believe he has a lot to show that we haven't seen yet so i'm excited to see where he comes in and then um i'm going to start with yourself reese look a lot of you guys a lot of your pro finishes for both years have been on the ground and do you feel like whoever wins this fight on the deck is going to be the person who gets his hand raised yeah well if it goes to the ground and somebody's dominating and they will eventually obviously win the fight but like um yeah it's going to be it's going to be a tough fight to like finish like i'm preparing for free rounds because like if you look at king's record he's never been finished before so in my approach i i'm either going to need to be the first person that finishes them or won a decision so remember yourself kingsley do you feel like at the ground could be where this fight is decided or are you ready for everything um well it will go to the ground because uh you're gonna try to take me there i'm gonna put him there with you you know it's going to the ground so i'm i'm ready he should be ready it's going to be a yeah i good fight fan should be ready as well yeah of course of course if it goes to the ground they'll both be like yeah i mean that interview will be done when we spoke about that and then yeah we will be there in the audience as well so we'll make sure to bring a pair of glasses for both of those lads okay there's no boys here yeah what's called the last the last two cage warrior events we were at we were at um cage warriors belfast and reese mckee came into the media room and demanded a pair of glasses that was the first thing he said to the entire media and then uh the pro the cage warriors were previous that was the last one in the indigo and jordan vucennis came in demand a pair of glasses as well so they're they're hot property lads they're hot property and so don't so don't demand them to ask nicely please please and thanks uh reese tell us this but i have a big army coming down from scotland for this fight yeah i don't know the specific numbers i i've not had the up to date numbers now but i know like within a few days i had like 30 40 people that were buying a ticket to come down which is obviously it speaks a lot of volumes because traveling from i'm from a town outside glasgow called cleanup but people coming down when they come down they have to get a flight or a train and they have to stay for at least a night so uh in contact like in um context i've got a lot of people coming down and i'm excited for that and then kingsley obviously uh gbb top team always represent uh will you have a massive crowd there on the night yeah there's always a massive crowd for me especially in london yeah definitely i think uh when dominique wooden on nataniel fletcher fought in new york all that time like that atmosphere was electric and i think the indigo will be electric on the night uh what do you make of fighting the night before ufc as well do you think that adds a bit to the balls or does that really bother you for me yeah yeah man i think it's always good you know it gets people excited for the the weekend and obviously after this fight i can relax and watch those fights which is always good yeah definitely i thought i thought like i thought it was a perfect event because there's obviously going to be a lot of buzz around that weekend in terms of mma in the uk but it's weird like before the fight i was like oh yes it's the night before ufc london but i've not actually thought about it because i'm just thinking about the friday night why after the after our effects are done then it's like okay let's go watch the watch the card the night after but you can only focus on one thing at a time and that's that's our fight on the friday exactly another thing that's being put into this card as well is they're flying called driscoll over from san jose to take on george hardwick uh for the vacant lightweight title is something in the future would you like to go over and like compete for the bantamweight toil in america as well at some stage uh kingsley you can go ahead first but yeah i'll fight anyway when i've got my passport [Laughter] yeah definitely any any place any every every place you're going to get offered is a new experience and traveling abroad i've never done that before so it would definitely be something that i'd like to do um if you go over that chance you've got to take it don't you yeah well what do you make of that situation as well obviously as the world the world is basically opening up now and like these opportunities to cross over from america to the european scene for cage wares is huge yeah yeah well yeah yeah well speaking of grain bowling like he really sees the cage warriors franchise all as one i know uh a lot of fans and ourselves included have sort of seen it as like an american roster and a uk roster but i think this is the first time we're seeing a real merging of the two rosters and it's gonna be really really interesting to see um you know i suppose who's better on the regional scene is it the guys in europe or is the guys in america uh a lot of the times i think the europeans are probably stronger on the regional team but let's see how it goes down this is the the first one we're getting that crossover so i'm definitely .4 i i'm all for seeing more of it as well i think um especially the cage warriors san diego shows are a great way to get your name out there for as european in the states before your eventual transition over to the ufc and also being live that is true as well you're already on the ufc platforms it's probably that next step to take like cage orders from my european massive promotion to like the world level yeah absolutely the production level is brilliant and like the way they run the shows on fight united way like you know exactly what time you're fighting at seems to be uh really really impressive and we'll start with yourself kingsley kingsley who do you have within your corner on the night um it's gonna be have a bread called one of those two out of those three um it don't really matter but yeah it's going to be done free yeah i i love saying what about yourself reese who do you have in your corner on the night i'll have a do you know any good martin in my corner um i think it's on the two corner mini anyway if i'm writing soon yeah absolutely too now it's always just good to give the elkhorn man a shout out because uh you know they they do hard work behind the scenes um i want to get your i want to get your predictions now lads and reece how do you see the fight going um like i said i'm preparing for three hard drives to be really honest like if i had an opportunity to finish the fights presents itself then that's um that's a bonus in my eyes but i'm preparing for a three-round decision when um like i said if the opportunity presents itself refinish then perfect but um preparing for free three hard rounds a decision one for me um what do you think kingsley uh will we see the final buzzer um i don't think so i don't think it will make the end of the first i think he might reach the third but i don't think it will come out the third looking how he is now you're saying he's too handsome there you'll have to change that is that yeah i need a haircut you can't be seen myself [Laughter] no no that's that'd be bad luck for you release kick your style icon there like don't don't mind that uh do you have anything to say to kingsley before we wrap things up now i just hope unless your training can't go as well and you don't get injured like um yeah i hope the rest of your training account goes well and i look forward the same time if you're taking a fan of me i find that disrespectful so on the night yeah don't expect to touch my head before the before the belt after yeah but before don't don't try to talk gloves with me there you have it yeah yeah quincy crawford is all business once that bell rings he's all business that that lovely smile he has there turns into a mean mug uh you love to see it bosmo and
