strong well yeah we had john before as energized once watched and then you went on and kicked ass and now you have another fight coming up on friday uh the ua e warriors returns uh john boy we got we got a massive reaction to you coming on last time like it was uh you've quite a big fan base yeah yeah that's that's such a good thing we've been from ireland and especially from cork like people get behind you so much like i even see it now coming up for this fight like the support back home is unreal so it's great it is only because on the podcast that's why you got all the views no but jumbo also about just to know that uh irish fighters are undefeated on uae warriors so let's keep it up that way this weekend ireland uh john tell us what it what is lloyd like out there in dubois because you're sort of out there i'm not going to say by yourself because of your friends out there but like you have very little distractions like you're fully or solely focusing on your mma career how good is that that you have no distractions out there oh it's the best man it's the best like literally even the mindset is quite different out here because like the people i train are all career fighters like and that's the path i'm on now so it's brilliant like even after i'm after i finished my own fight i was back in the gym on tuesday because manila aziz was getting ready for his ufc fight you know what i mean so it's it's unreal like especially because my full-time occupation is coaching fighting you you no excuse not there's no there's nothing else to really be doing out here but that like you know what i mean it's unreal yeah it's it's happy to watch as well you're definitely a must follow on instagram and uh we don't say that about many people but it's cool the way you're in the sun like we're still in lockdown over here russ i miss you man yeah john would definitely want to follow on instagram like just everything you're doing there is just is kick ass but yeah we're still in lockdown man like i mean we're still trying to get out at some stage in the not so near future yeah absolutely something in the near future today yes hopefully that's crazy yeah i'll go my first flight next weekend which uh i haven't flown anywhere in two years so uh i'm not nervous i'm more like i hope i bring all the stuff you're supposed to bring to the airport uh but come here what do you know about uh oh just to london and going to manually versus spurs in the hotspur stadium so like i'm actually posing to see the stadium uh i don't know like i'm up and down on monday every weekend so we'll see how that goes but uh john boy tell us this what do you know about constantinos um i know he's a good record he's six and one uh he looks i don't know not much like like you know he's going to do with a graph and do with a striking not much he's just just uh i can't spell his name for life me anyway i know that much sure we're trying to figure out before show like same as the last lad i know he's good yeah he's game he's already like like uh it's good it's a good uh it's a good record to beat that's uh that's all i really know about him i think it is one of those ones for you that you know when you're looking at these guys and you're facing them as time goes on the record like his record will six women you follow him it will show that you fought progressively better competition each time a hundred percent like and i did it as an amateur so like that's why i moved like take this fight there in my fourth pro fight against six and one and i'm not sweating about it like you know what i mean even that last letter ibm like junkie [ __ ] glory not many fights in mma but like 62 pro 5 60 plus pro fights and kickboxing and just because of the amateur pedigree i'm able to take on any of these guys so you know like i'm 3-0 but i'm much beyond that you know ever since you've moved over to the boy now like part of the lovely town like how much has your game improved john like i mean i mean like grinding every day doing out there eating like like what like how much has it improved honestly night and day and um you know because one thing that really showed me i always obviously believed myself great but now i train my elite guys all the time and i can see my own standard and like you know there's guys come through here that are very high standard like i can do very very well against all these guys and i i learned that about myself and what was great actually is one of my main training partners from back home paul buckley uh he came out here yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah for the last bit of his camp and uh you know i could really for last minute i'm starting and you know the way i can see i can't really tell if i'm getting that much better all the time but you know if your aunt hasn't seen your loads when you're younger and then she sees the answer like paul was able to come out here and you can just see it was completely completely different level my mindset everything and john what what is the what was the goal here obviously you know come out on friday get the win 4-0 like how many more fights do you think you're going to have before you make that move towards the ufc and last time you spoke that seemed to me the goal what what it what does it got how many fights more fights you want and if you do get into ufc will you stay in dubai where you're at yeah so i believe like three and oh now but you know those are all like big fights like junk main cage warriors main card for my first one fight tonight second fight gotta go to mission third fight ibm you have performance of the night you know what i mean that that video went quite well at boston him up so do you know this goes six and one after i get a bigger name maybe a ufc vet you've got another one 6-0 i think my computer all going well inshallah you know what i mean so that would be the plan and then uh yeah i'll definitely stay and then definitely stay on the boy like my plan is to be based here uh fully you know until ufc and beyond and tell us this also that um would you how many fights you have left in this uae warriors uh contract or is it a you know a one fight contract each time uh at the moment it's one for a contract each time but you know i'm i'm really happy with yours and they look after me so i have no problem staying there and also it's really good fight uh like it's the biggest show in the region you know what i mean and it's a good region like so it's it's great for them you know no because i was just wondering when you said you you know you have to have that fight with cage warriors would that be something you'd be interested in going in the future if they if they come in looking for you for a fight kid warriors no no no not casual orders you a warriors yeah he wants the town man obviously at the moment like the irish mma is doing great like we just had ian gary on as well he's making his usa debut which is like going to be enormous for irish mma i'm sure you're going to be tuning in i mean like it just on the like the underage levels are just getting better and better and the things are open a little bit more and i know it's it's just so great covering it and then seeing these at least i've been just training away and then like finally got to just put their art there in the cage and then let people see what they've been working so hard on you know yeah ross that's marine man like ian gary fighting in ufc paul hughes one of the kids where his title is you know i'm gonna have this big fight now when you reward like we're all young and like this next like kick on who goes all the time it's class man it's obviously reasonable he's really young recently i know yeah like i love to see this from uh irish mma you know what i mean that's i often get a lot of people back home in ireland like fighters asking to come out here and training and like i really want to facilitate all of that from because there's a new gym out here now like like i think brian draper is coming out with aaron darby are coming out there next month shiro's coming out next month as well like so it's uh it's great to see all these up-and-coming videos those guys are next now they're good amateur is going to go pro as well you know i had to give john mccall going to shout out as well just in case [Music] don't don't worry i don't think the champ would feel too disheartened if you didn't get a shout out to you yeah beyonce could be looking for something off people that no i think overshadow may is on that next wave and i think it's also on that next invasion into the ufc as well uh like i think ian gary's the first of many and you know obviously dean barry wins that flight in titan he's in the ufc you know two or three more floyds for yourself john you'll probably be in the ufc and then like look look at the other side of things with the it goes in bellator peter queen he's going to fight for world title snake having us going to fight for a world title and yeah james gallagher all they're huge fights sure like like chris cyborg like you know what i mean he's been treated like people like this man it's so good yeah and then uh shout out to paula han as well doing this thing combat uh global as well um another corconian so you know what i mean like you know the race for the first quirkonian to uh make it to the ufc uh john do you reckon you'll be first yeah oh that would be it should be a proud moment for yourself like it's it's just we've we've been covering this for so long right and then like seeing the way like that the wave is coming in now and you can just see it like bubbling and just like really really about to happen and then like the way like ian makes his usa debut today after that's our dream like if there's someone fighting on every show unbelievable and the more promotions that have irish fighters in the better and i think ireland is so good at putting its uh stamp on any sort of promotion that goes into so you know i mean uae warriors should be looking out for a few more irish guys like look brave like they've had a lot of irish guys in the card and when you get older people on the card you get always on the card i think that's what's most important we really do support our own i i think we we always laugh like if ireland gets to the like final of the olympics in curling people will be watching the curling foil whatever it is like ireland's sports around i remember me and barry i had rhys mclennan on the show and he's those the pommel horse and we're like how would you ever get into being doing the pommel horse do you know what do you know what palm horse is john no it's the one where you you know the gymnastics thing where you're on the sort of it's like a horse and then you have the two bars on it he does that thing like i'm just like i don't know hey yeah but well that's what how would you describe it and i was like and that's the thing like we end up watching the pommel horse because we knew someone doing it and like that's all it takes darling you just have to know someone or know someone who knows someone yeah yeah yeah yeah it's match that well he probably thinks it's crazy we fighting the cage for living like so you know each surrounding all that like different horses yeah i didn't think about it that way were someone greater than me that like anyone else was normal yeah yeah it couldn't be less than or like my mom's still talking over it it's mad [Music] oh man uh like the thing is that no after your last win and the way we were promoting you so much uae warriors got onto us as well and they're like i mean they're big fans of you if you didn't know already but uh yeah like like uh like we were just saying that back home back from the pommel horse ross like like we were saying like that the way our channels bubble up now and i think like really looking at it like i know dean barry is like sort of limbo there at the moment like yeah if he gets away and he's in so but like like i think you you are at the next you're the next the next one next one up to you would you agree yeah you could disagree i'll edit it i think so like um unless unless maybe you know someone like joe mccolgan or something gets a call but like i i think the next person who has a clear path to ufc is probably yourself john do you feel that yeah i'm sorry sorry sorry i actually wasn't even thinking about the cage where's it sort of like cage warriors have their own little like it's like an escalator just straight in like but like i think i think that from outside now well i think even i even think outside of cage warriors bar john mccall i think john's probably next you know when he's 3-0 this weekend ago 4-0 i think once start to go five no six no they really start looking at you and they love our irish people in the ufc they really do yeah it's just that thing i don't really think too much about if i'm an extra i just worry about me completely like and i know what my plan is like and i know like three more big fights three more like big performances and i could be in like so that's not that far away really like so next year that'd be ideal and it's just going to be like i've always done in the sport it's not talking much about proof of my actions like i did that as amateur as i said i did it in my last fight so now like this fight guys six and one next fight let's get a bigger name bigger name bigger name and then i'll deserve to be there so i'll be uh right to go in you know what i mean so that's what i think about it yeah no you know we're supporting the hallway it's just it's just it's because you're not in the country it's like it's almost like like it's like the rsma almost media almost has to make sure that they know you're competing on these cards and stuff so that's what it's great to get you back i'm gonna promote you as well because uh you deserve it you're a great lab and as i implement your game plan or you do not want to give that away i don't think this guy can speak english so he won't be able to understand i'm translating this into greek as we speak yeah yeah now just the same thing i always do like i like like i've said before i love i love scrapping so i'm gonna go in and put a lot of pressure on them and see what happens like that last lad i put a lot of pressure on love for that put a lot of pressure on and just stay just enjoy it like just going to be be [ __ ] mad you know what i mean and then just let the rest take care of itself like i'm like i'm in a real like some people always say this before fights are like this the best i've ever been for a fight the fight's like camp's been amazing but it actually has like believe me like in that i can't wait to throw it on the night like you know what i mean just don't believe those people who are 20 points into their career you don't mean when you when you you're three you know and you're gone four now i can believe that when someone's like you know when clay guida says that i'm like all right calm down there pal but literally like like since like my last fight i've had guys like uh manila aziz and bruno caveira like put massive pressure on me in the gym every time i'm sparring so like like i swear and those guys are killers and they're like big guys as well so going into this guy next week just seems like in my ears a day off compared to what i have to do every tuesday you know what i mean so i feel like i can sprint these three rounds i cannot wait like sprinting my will you know what i mean go in and just absolutely do the business for for everyone at home but with it so we're going to bleeding bad ones celebrating me and tell us this uh directing you'll be looking for a quick turnaround if you come out of this relatively unscathed uh yeah there's another show in december and stuff like that and like like we were saying earlier john here i'm not here just for the weather like i'm here just to fight you know what i mean so the weather as well don't get me wrong but uh yes why not like why not then i could be five and all going into next year now that's a different story again but i full faith my management to make the right decision about that anyway you know yeah fair placement and uh there's union and lots of favors at the moment they're getting you on the big shows with all the eyes on it perfect yeah you are the place to be at you i mean um especially considering you're based in dubois i mean yeah from the arena 90 minutes and like the professional professionalism of yours is off the charts like everything's to a t exactly when you weigh in even to like just it's perfect man so this is a perfect place to develop myself you know what i mean absolutely you know i think with uh ufc doing so many things on foil and over the last two years i'd say more eyes are on uae warriors now than ever yeah yeah yeah like uh show ufc is the next the day after so i'm hoping then avoids at this event that would be great you know what i mean yeah who knows he could be looking for a fight in a white looking for a fight would you be able to go far away from here yeah no i hope he is he like that he'd be right next to it like he should go down and have a look anyway you know what i mean why wouldn't he make sure to clip this up if that goes down as well yeah definitely yeah that's that's probably we should probably leave it there you know jumbo like the reality we had we were chatting before and we're chatting here we just everyone knows we're
