talent to be incredible. It's going to be incredible. My advice is loads of wars on it. Like I said, I unplugged the showcase of Cage Warriors talent and me and Loofah definitely definitely two talented guys that are 100% both of us now at the stakes. Like Loof Loof knows Loof was told as far as I'm aware that if he had a won one of two of those matches that he lost, he'd be signed already now to the UFC or signed to the Contender Series or so. So, he knows what's on the line. And he knows if he beats me, he might get that shot or get it very close to it. So, it's it's all to play for. Like he's not going to back down. I'm going to have to break him and to get to get it to happen and that's that's my goal. So, it's going to be incredible to watch. >> [music] >> The Energia Show up the Irish. >> Okay. Here we go. >> [screaming] >> Okay, what's going on guys? And welcome to a brand new episode of Energized brought to you by Our King's Competitions. Ross, >> intoxicated or something? >> Introduce the guest, man. Today, we are bringing you undefeated Cage Warriors contender. He is the leader of the Wolfpack. He is the SBG head coach and he is the one and only Alexander the Great O'Sullivan. Alexander, how are you doing my friend? >> Yeah, I'm doing great. Doing doing Alexander the Great and >> Yeah. >> Uh just finished the morning session there and uh jumped in the sauna and so so uh yeah, just just back home now and uh had a shower and I'm ready to talk to you guys now, yeah. >> Yeah, you look fresh. You looking fresh, man. You looking fresh. >> I'm growing the the hair out a bit longer. Um my girlfriend's keen on on having a bit of a more longer fringe and because like at 27, I still have a hairline. So, I may as well use it, you know what I mean? I may as well actually keep it long. So, here we are ground level. >> The total podcast. Alexander has all of the new hairstyles. >> [laughter] >> That's amazing. >> Yeah. I mean, give give the sauna a quick plug. You got a new sauna in the gym, didn't you? >> Yeah, exactly. [snorts] So, that's a hot tub swimming sauna is the name of the the business that that that put it in first installed there, and it's it's it's unbelievable, to be honest. We uh actually like I can go on to estimate how effective it could be. I don't know I hadn't really been to uh like knowledgeable about infrared saunas or anything. Like I didn't know if they would like have a lesser sweat rate, but we found it to be like really really effective for sweat. So, we'll be definitely utilizing it in the coach, but like of obviously the infrared therapy is actually good for it. Um your joints and muscles and all that stuff anyway, so I've been using it for that reason, but definitely like in the gym we've been using it to make weight now as well, and it's been really really effective. Like it's like yeah, surprisingly uh surprisingly effective for making weight. So, I'm really really happy. That's a shoutout to Hot Tub Swimming Saunas for installing that for us now. We're starting to look the part, I think. We're starting to feel like the a real real gym now. Yeah. Um got saunas and and everything, so >> See how important it's in the Energized Gym here for amateurs and pros, you know what I mean? Like you don't get there for no reason as well, so >> No, no, we have We have Yeah, we have the training, we have the fighters, the the the people, the staff. We the facilities are starting to look the part now as well, so that's great. We're going to get a TV in or something next now, and really make it feel home. Yeah. >> Love it. Love it. >> [laughter] >> Tell us Tell us this. I I want to bring you back maybe two or three months. There was a a really cool moment that sort of came out of the blue. Um Gary Rooney shows up to the gym, and you end up with a black belt. Tell Tell us about that story. Tell us about what how it happened, and uh what what it was like that moment for you and everyone else in the gym. >> Yeah, it was a it was it was out of the blue, to be fair. Um like Gary's coming in at ask for years to be graded, and and like I think you know it's him [clears throat] coming from a little bit more traditional background uh jiu-jitsu background is is almost like almost it's disrespectful to be like just grappling for so long without actually being graded, you know? So uh he finally just took it into his own hands and showed up to the Wednesday uh MMA grappling class. And I was like, "Oh, fair play Gary for coming." Uh deadly deadly to have you up. You're always you know always great to see Gary just even as as a mate. But uh of course the frame would look and and then uh I told him to try on my gloves on there and cuz we wear them for grappling because we're doing a fair amount we don't really run it as a jiu-jitsu class if you know what I mean. And then Gary Gary was like, "No, no, we're not wearing MMA gloves." And I said, "Watch me now. You're just taking over my class." Like and he was like, "Yeah, I am." And he had a bag with him and I started to kind of put two and two together then and I was like this this fellow's up to something like. So uh he he rinsed me as he called it where he had the entire gym roll me to submission. Uh for about an hour straight so I was absolutely destroyed for for my whole my whole team my uh my students ran through me and uh then he presented me with a belt. So like I didn't know whether maybe it was going to be a blue belt even cuz I I never actually got my blue belt. Um when I was younger cuz I I had training in jiu-jitsu when I was a teenager but I never was old enough to get my blue belt. Um so he I I thought maybe he'd give me that just to start me on my journey. But now he just came in and gave me the black straight away. Then I just I just have to own it now, you know? Um because if Gary's >> Rooney's first black belt? >> I believe so, yeah. I believe so. So like it straight away then it gives me a little bit more like you know I can use it to make me better because before that point like when I'm grappling I can always be a little bit short like I could always be a little bit uh cocky like grappling even though like I know what I'm doing because I think to myself like I don't have any standard that I have to hold myself to. Look, I'm I'm an amateur for self-defense, grappling, or whatever. I'm just kind of the owner of the firm, mate. But now, I'm a guy around a black belt, so I can't be short anymore, or make Gary look mug. So, I have to I have to be good. So, now I'm going into like, you know, rounds and and just training with that different mindset, a little bit more responsibility on me to actually do good grappling, you know? So, I've already kind of used it to better myself. Um and that's probably why Gary presented it to me, you know, as well, like. So, uh yeah, I mean, it's an honor. Um and for me, like, especially I've been training a long time. Like, I have been grappling since I was 12. Doing judo since I was nine. Um I'm 27 now, so uh to be able to be a black belt is is something that I wanted to be when I was younger, and I just kind of let go of that that dream, if you know what I mean. I just thought I wasn't going to do that. I'd pursue a different route. And now it now it was, so the way it happened was odd, but the the um I wouldn't I wouldn't ask for it to go any other way. You know what I mean? I wouldn't get it off anyone else. You know that now that this has happened. I'm a flat student to a black belt. I think I'm flat student to his first black belt, so I'm going to own that um for the rest of my life now, so um yeah, I'm actually buzzing with it, and I'm hoping to display it display my level of grappling um come two weeks now against Alexander Loup. >> Yeah, absolutely. And just just touching on Gary Rooney, so I saw him he's officially with Hooligan Martial Arts, which is a gym that you're closely affiliated with, obviously Caria and Shaun are you know, probably each other's main sparring partner, etc. Um it's it's cool to see Gary Rooney back, cuz we saw him after the Dublin card, and said, "Oh, you you know, he's out for the foreseeable, etc., etc." It felt like there wasn't something right. It felt like it it it felt it felt wrong. A man of that talent, a man of that level not fighting doesn't seem right. How good is it for you to see him back on the mats and back to Planeta back in action. >> Oh, yeah, it's great. It's great to see him cuz like that he has songs with Hazel and he and I want to see how far he can go and I want to see how yeah, how his how his career progress cuz I think that he's you know, he's a real fighter when it comes when it comes down to it like he's he's a great coach. He really is. Um and he's really helped especially likes of Koya and my game but especially Koya's as well just because he's he's a flyweight and some of the techniques that work well for him as a smaller man work well for girls if you know what I mean. Work well for Koya as a girl. You know, um so he really he's really helped her grappling game and he's really really helped Shauna's grappling game. That's That's what they brought or just MMA game in general. >> Mhm. >> But uh as as good as like he is as a coach as technical as he is and and like the way his his mindset is he's a really really good fighter if you know what I mean. Like you can't you can't finish. It's very hard to finish Gary. Like he's never going to give up. He has it he has that dog in him as they say. Do you know what I mean? So he's about like when you have that dog in you it's good to use it if you know what I mean. It's good to let it out. So I would I'm buzzing to see Gary fight again. I think that he'll have his is a a great spot for him to be. I think Paddy's going to look look after him properly and and and build him correctly and I don't hopefully he'll be getting some good training with him in Hillhead myself now. And so will Koya and the other lads in the gym cuz we do be over there quite a bit like you say especially with Shauna and Koya being um kind of main sparring partners and training partners because neither neither of them have any other girls in their gyms if you know what I mean. There is Sarah Sarah Carney and stuff over in uh over in Hillhead but uh main Koya has no girls at all to train with and Shauna doesn't have any other pros at the very least so >> Yeah. >> it means uh means a lot to be training with the two of them and and even just picking Paddy's brain as well as a as a veteran um coach and fighter himself like >> Yeah, absolutely. Look, I think uh iron sharpens iron etc. etc. And it's great to see and yeah, you're right. Like I remember Kerry Rooney's armbar cage warriors 189 in Italy and I was like I was like that that's a one of the toughest armbars I think I've ever seen. It was absolutely picture perfect. Um but yeah, great great to have him back and look, you know, good to see Irish teams co-training amongst each other as well. We we love to see it and look, let's get into Cage Warriors 206 over in Manchester BEC Arena Unplugged 19th of June. Going to be a a massive night. You versus Alexander Loup. This one has the capabilities of stealing the show. Another high profile match up for you, Alex. What what was it like when the name came across? Obviously, facing an amateur and then what's the win here mean for you? >> Um yeah, so I mean this was a fight that really excited me. When I when I got the name for an offer, I kind of just knew I wanted to, you know, take it straight away. Like, you know, like sometimes there's a lot of emotion when when you're taking fights and stuff. Like what's what's the next like match up and you're starting to think about um what you're going to do. But for me, it was like straight away with this one, I was just going to say yeah because it's just a fight that really really excites me. He's he's a dangerous striker and he's been in uh in there with the best like European opposition that that that that that we have really like in Ireland and he obviously was in the fight of the year with with uh Roelly two years ago or whatever it was. So um for me, that that just really gets me going and and I I've trained really really hard. Like like I always do train hard. But there's something about getting the right opponent that like that you that excites you that makes you just like training becomes easy, you know? Like well, our training hard becomes easier, you know, because it's like I want to give this more 110% because I know what what type of fight this could be. You know, we fought before. Um in the amateur obviously a lot of things have changed for both of us since then. But even just having that little like mental victory over him is going to help me, I think. And when when it starts to the pressure starts coming on him like when I bring that when I bring the pace and the pressure and he's doing he's doing well for a while or it's or it's 50/50 for a while, but as soon as I feel that break, like he'll know that it's happened before, you know, and I'm going to make sure it happens again, you know. Um and I think that a a win against Lou is going to like put me in the position to you know, possibly challenge for a belt, um maybe even this year uh or even get a call ups for something even bigger, you know, depending on how the fight goes, depending on how the how the hopefully I finish as well if we can get another finish against this fellow. This is going to do massive things for my career. So, like there's no uh there's no brakes on the on the right at the moment like there's no reason to slow up. Like I'm just training as hard as I can, you know, this is this is my moment if you know what I mean because every every fight at the at the at the moment is that, you know, every fight has the chance to propel me further into the into where I want to be, you know, so I'm really really excited really excited for everyone to see it and I'm really excited for the match up itself. Um yeah, can't overstate that to be honest. >> Yeah. >> Alex, like last week we were talking about your fight against Lou and we were saying this is huge like a like potentially like with a big finish you could be like next up for a title shot. Ross like that's what we were saying last week. >> Yeah, absolutely like I suppose this will this will like sort of launch your career. >> Just came up with a little light bulb moment there. Um I just said look >> you think of him, man? >> You'll Well, look, you'll you'll go to you'll go to 6-0 with a win here and I think Ian Garry was 6-0 when he fought for the K 1 uh world title and that could be you again. And look, Leuf is almost a litmus test uh where if you're ready to ready to crack on. And that's not a knock on him, but if you look at the people who beat him, Luke Riley, Weersma Moyer, um I think uh Trageron beat him as well. Like these are all guys either went on and won Cage Warriors prize fighter uh went to win the Cage Warriors belt, or made the UFC. So, wins over Leuf are rare, but when they when they do happen, they do count. And you're more than capable of doing it. As much as yes, he might be a 12-fight veteran uh on paper at the end of the day, anyone knows you. You've You've had hundreds of uh competitive matchups, whether it be in K-1, whether it be in um jiu-jitsu, whether it be in MMA, you You're one of the most seasoned veterans in the country. You're more than capable of doing it. And the whole country's behind you. There's not a person on this MMA country, north or south of the border, doesn't have a massive amount of respect for you. It doesn't think that one of the best coaches in the game, one of the best fighters in the game. And look, everyone's behind you, and everyone would love to see Alex Volkanovski win that Cage Warriors belt, and then go on to the UFC. And uh especially the guys in your own gym, like they they all absolutely harp on about the level you're at. And we can all see it. And this is great, cuz you're now actually getting the opportunity to show it, you know? >> Yeah, absolutely. Um like that's it. There's There's that motivation as well. I I want to prove to to the lads in the gym, to my students, to my friends, that we that we can do this against someone as like seasoned as as Leuf, you know, 12-12 pro fighter. Uh and all of them really at a high level, like you know, with the He's He's only ever fought as a pro on FC or or Cage Warriors. And they're both UFC fight pass shows, where lads go straight to the UFC after two of them. Um obviously especially Cage Warriors, but even FC, or you know, they get they get in only good opposition there as well, like so he's a he's eight wins as uh for a reason. Um he is very dangerous. So, it's one of those ones where I like I have to prove that I can stay my [ __ ] works under fire, you know, cuz he's going to he's going to bring it. He's going to bring it really really hard. You know what I mean? So, that's if anything it's going to motivate you to train hard, train well with someone that's going to try and knock you out, basically. He's going to try and spark me. Um and another thing that's great as well as that like um just the fact that he is foreign, that he's Swedish, like uh like you were saying, the whole country behind me. Like, you know, that's it's great to feel that. It's great to to feel that cuz I feel like we you know, we do have the the genuine support of the community. Um C-MAC in general. And when I'm fighting another Irish guy, like Scott, that's obviously split a little bit, you know, because he has a lot of support himself. Um and then even like Darragh Kelly as well was another guy I fought who was Irish on Cage Warriors. Yeah. So, it's nice to to just get that uh Swedish opponent that I know that I have the whole support of the country behind me, kind of, you know? Um and then and just in general, I think this card, the Unplugged card, is interesting in that it shows the depth of Irish talent on Cage Warriors now. In that like we all need fights, you know? We're not here just to make up the numbers and put like, you know, bums in seats in in Irish uh venues. It this is this is all of us are pushing on now to to look really challenge for titles and stuff at the top of the division. So, we need to be given fights. Um so, you could see that like they pretty much filled the Unplugged card out. And for me like the Unplugged card is like a almost a showcase of talent. Like, it's it's it's it's it's it's not a big it's not a big crowd. It's just there to show Cage Warriors >> [clears throat] >> the the the level, the standard that's on Cage Warriors, you know? And they filled it with Irish lads, you know? So, obviously Trevor's on it as well from from C-MAC. And you've got uh Gearoid Harris is on it. He's in there's probably main eventing it I think. Um against Joe McColgan. Um Ian Garry is now on it as well. Um >> Matthew Walker is obviously fighting Trevor, yeah? >> Yeah, Matthew Walker of course. So that's that's an Irish V Irish match up so. Yeah, like you know, we're all getting flown over to Manchester because you know, we we are genuinely that good and we need we need opportunities to to showcase our skills there. And and push on. You know, we're not here to just wait and and like that sell tickets for the Dublin show or for for the for the Irish shows. You know, we're we're here to challenge for um positions up the up the divisions and and move on and and push on and get the titles. So that's the position that I feel like I'm in and I know that I'm in so yeah, I'm I just I just can't wait. You know, like I said, I went over Loof and just just even the experience like I want to fight in the Unplugged. I've watched a few of the Unplugged cards um in preparation just to to just to feel what it like to turn prepare for the environment where there's no crowd, everything is really loud. Um but what's interesting for me, you know, when I always think there's a little bit of fate or a little bit of something behind it where like the only time I fought Loof previously was in the IMMAF where there's no real crowd either. It's just the teams there. So it's the same kind of environment um that I've already that I've already beaten him in, you know. Um and then I know for a fact that I'll be able to hear Keith and Jordan screaming. Like like no one no one will be able to like not hear their air instructions if you know what I mean. So like it's going to be really really interesting like even just as as a chess match like with with like a air teams just being able to to shout shout across the instructions really clearly. There'll be no air no air crowd to kind of um dilute that at all, you know. Um Ross will be calling out great commands as well. Don't get me wrong. It's just that he's not as loud as those other two. Keith and Jordan will have to be the loudest corner in the country. Maybe Chris Fields. Maybe Chris Fields um >> [laughter] >> be something to fill then. All right, seriously. >> Yeah, Keith Keith is very very loud. Keith is very very loud. >> Keith brings his own megaphone, man. >> Yeah, big one. [laughter] all I feel like when there's no crowd in this and I'm full crowd, it's going to be going to be excellent. It's going to be I'm I'm buzzing, absolutely buzzing for it. Like it's only 11 days out now or whatever and I I I generally can't wait. I'm ready. My weight's gone. Uh so I just look forward to to the undercard now, you know. >> Yeah, well the thing is on top of that as well, Ross, like I'm sure you'll agree with this. Like the fight that Scott and Scott Harvey, when it was Scott against Alex, obviously like that was like a big domestic Irish MMA fight. Like right, who's who's pushing now? Like you I mean like we can have a lot of people at the same weight, but like the whole country is like who's actually the best? And like we can we can say a lot of people are good and great at certain things, but once they fight each other, Alex took that chance and then then then he pushed on and now everyone knows that Alex is like what someone to really like watch out for cuz everyone knows how good Scott Harvey was. >> Yeah, absolutely. Look, >> Sorry, and he is, sorry. >> I I I I think it's one of those things where as [clears throat] as Al- Alexander as well, you know. Um just in case we were thinking we're talking about Luke, um continues to fight on his career, people will take more more note as time goes on and people will look back and go Jeez, this guy has actually fought the who's who, like, you know what I mean? Like he's fought like Alex has a win over Leon Hill, who's like could be fighting for the welterweight belt. Alex has has fought been in there with Chris Duncan, who is probably on the verge of a top 15 in the UFC. You know what I mean? Like you he's beaten Marcin Zemballa, who's an absolute veteran of the pro scene over here. And that's all amateur and obviously he's beaten uh uh Luke before. You know what I mean? Like he's fought the who's who in amateur. Now he's a pro and he's making making headway in the game and he's he's not the leader of the wolf pack for nothing, you know what I mean? And C-MAC C-MAC are really really beginning to make a name for themselves. I feel like last year started something special and I feel like, you know, the train keeps on rolling and I think it's going to be a huge year for the C-MAC guys again and I can't wait to see it and again, Alex, not only is he fighting on that night, he he could also be probably doing a bit of cornering as well. Great to see Trev back there. I know he's had a few pull outs. He's very vocal online when things don't go his way. He's not happy but at least on this occasion, Matt Horrigan seems to be as game as they come. No doubt, massive opportunity for him. He will show up and I think that's going to be an absolute cracker of a fight. I think there'll be some really tasty exchanges on the feet in that one, no doubt about it. >> Yeah, absolutely. We look very familiar with Machida because he's, you know, on the amateur scene, he's 10 points on the amateur scene, he's eight and two. He's a very legit guy. He's probably the best light heavyweight, you know, coming out of out of the country amateur turning turning pro. So, this is a this is a great great match for Trev and it's great match for the fans. Two strikers really like um at the end of the day and like I'm I just know that Trev's going to kind of show his show his experience and show the level that he's at. He's had a few cancelled bouts and and that kind of thing that's really set him set him back his momentum. Because I think it's important to keep in mind, like his his kid warrior is only kid warrior is four years still against Norbert. And Norbert, like we knew at the time Norbert was really really good. He's He's fighting for a belt now. He's fighting now against Mariano. He's already after winning two or three fights all by first round knockouts since then. Trev is the only guy to go the distance with him in his entire career. And he didn't just go the distance with him, like he won the first round on all three of the score cards and then just let it let it slip a little bit in the second and third. Like I know the level Trev is at. Like small tactical changes in that fight and he wins that, you know, and Norbert's going to go on. I said it from when Norbert was an amateur, we fought him with one of our other lads and when he was an amateur, like I said that Norbert would make it to the big leagues 100%. He's just that good. So, when we got offered him for Trev we just don't say no to fights really. Like we just don't do it. So it was just like, right, well, we now have good Norbertus. Let's beat him. And we nearly got it done. You know what I mean? Like it like it wasn't like that it was a robbery or anything. It was nice. It just it just let it slip a little bit in the later rounds. Um So I know how good Trev is. So if uh if he if he you know, if if Matty was as good as we think he is, it would be a great fight. Um and look, Trev's going to get it done. That's the plan. Trev's going to Trev's going to get it done. Push on from there, get an interview wins in in in the bank over the over the rest of the year, and then push on himself because as a as a light heavyweight uh heavyweight just in those bigger weights, there isn't as much uh competition either. So four wins or so and Trev is pushing on into the uh into the big leagues himself. So, you know, just get that get that Norbert one back now. And uh yeah, push on from there. So really really excited for the two of us now to show the level. And uh he's been training his balls off. He really has. So I really want him to just for himself to get that reward now because he's doesn't There's anyone you know who works like I I'd rather I think I'd rather go out and lose than have canceled fights because going out and going out and putting it all on the line is what we really want to do. You know what I mean? So there's nothing worse really than like training your balls off and then just having to just There's a feel just a feel enough. Just anything. It's like you can't even enjoy your feel anymore. You know what I mean? You can't even enjoy the the post-fight feeling. Even after a loss, the post-fight feeling of getting in there and having tried your best is incredible. So having pulled out this epoxy like so >> [snorts] >> Matty will better show up, buddy. >> Yeah, no one's listening to Trevor McCabe go have a moan again. >> No, that's the main thing. I don't want to hear Trev talk to me about pull-ups anymore. Sick of it. >> Yeah. Uh tell us this before we let go. Give us a one or two lines on uh Ross Corley's successful pro debut. Emphatic stop at really really impressive at EFC EFC 8. And then at EFC 9, uh we see Kio Sultan return to make a we're going to call it her her home pro debut, debut on her pro debut on home soil. >> Yeah, absolutely. That was incredible for us. Look at that. We know as a team and as a team how good Ross is. So, it was it was great to get him over the line as a pro and Now he's now he's done that. Look, fair play to Barry as well for bringing in bringing in pros on the Irish like the Republic of Ireland scene because it's hard to do that. There isn't really any other shows going. Your man had 17 pro fights and Ross still put him away in a minute. And like like he wasn't there. He didn't have the He didn't have the the best record, your man. But like every time he's been in there with tough guys, >> Just when you say that, I'm not really mad at people saying that. Like your man had six wins, 10 losses. Like that That was Ross's pro debut. You know what I mean? That's That's a 16-4 veteran straight away. I think I think that's cuz I've seen a few people say that before the fight. And I was like, "He's making his pro debut. This fellow has six wins. And he might have 10 losses, but he has six wins." I think like if anything, you know, your man was so experienced that like you know, he should have been the favorite going into the fight with that with a record like that. You know what I mean? >> Yeah, he couldn't even even tell the match up like you know, Ross is jumping into that unknown territory where this fellow has done it a lot of times. And then the real thing is that that fellow had had fought like like legitimate opponents. And and like brought them to second rounds and later into the rounds and all. Like he's genuinely durable and he's he's here to win. Like we talked I had to pick him up from the airport. I was trying to talk him >> [laughter] >> to bring him down to get the bus to Cork. >> Sitting in the back seat with Ross. >> Yeah, but like genuinely like he was a he's a fighter. Like that fellow like you know, he embraces the the he's just taking fights against tough guys. Like he knows Ross is tough. He's come over here just hoping that he he can get it done. You know, he's not focused on his record or anything. He's just wants to live like a warrior or whatever. I think in Brazil the the mindset there is like, you know, the the respect you'd get from being a fighter regardless of record is really important to them cuz fighting in Brazil is just that's their main thing or whatever, you know, they look they love that. Um so, he's that's just the way he that's the way he goes on. So, like he came over and Ross managed to knock him out in in 40 seconds. Cuz that's the only way you know how good Ross is, look. Like if you give him any opens, he's going to find them and and knock you out. So, this fellow wasn't polished enough to not give those opens. So, within the first exchange, Ross could see that the counter was just there. So, he just stepped in and knocked him out. Yeah. So, uh yeah, that was a that was super to get him off the mark and we're going to build him now onto the next onto his next fight straight away. We're already looking for him. And then Coi and Coi's been Coi's been uh Coi's been dealing with pullouts and and and different unfortunate setbacks. We're trying to get back in the cage since her last fight um nearly a year ago now. So, fingers crossed now everything goes well. We're fighting the same girl she was supposed to fight there on EFC um in in 6 weeks. So, fingers crossed no no one else might happen and we get her over another Brazilian girl um and we can uh >> Are you Are you going to Are you going to pick her up from the airport as well? >> I don't know. Maybe I'll have to. Maybe I'll have [laughter] to. Yeah. Um whatever we need to do. Whatever we need to do to get >> it it's it's a winning tactic so far. >> Yeah, [laughter] that's it. That's true. Get in their heads a little bit, you know, see if see if we can figure anything out about them while I drop drop them today. Drop them to the bus stop or whatever. Um but yeah. Um fingers crossed now everything goes well and and we cuz Coi has a lot to show. She has a lot to show and she's leveled up even since her last one. Really has. So, if we can just get her into the cage on super excited for a while, everyone's going to see it, you know. So, that the fingers crossed that goes well now. >> Yeah. Maybe you can give her a lift home after it. >> I would. Of course I would. >> Oh my god. >> I have no more respect for anyone that steps in in the cage. I haven't done it for a long time. It's uh It's genuinely like >> [snorts] >> it's a it's a hard thing to do. So, I respect >> Alex Alex O'Sullivan going the extra distance, chauffeuring his team's opponents to the cage to make sure that Hold on. Michael Orr, if you're looking for a lift to the airport >> That's it. That's it. If there's any If there's any issues getting to the airport, let me know. Even though I'm fighting this stuff all the Floyd down to Waterford and pick him up or whatever. Yeah, chauffeuring Floyd's is now a new a new a new role that I play. Yeah. >> Yeah, only for your team's opponents. Only for your team's opponents. >> Yeah, you know, I couldn't give a [ __ ] Actually, I actually also drove Ronan Deegan's opponent. So, not just my team. Not just my team. >> Look, there's this black belt Alex O'Sullivan I'm appointing today. This black belt has changed you, Alex. >> Oh, I'm fighting him now as well. >> Alex, you're obviously back in action on the 19th of 6 in Manchester, then? You want to say to the people tuning in now that they can't wait to see you perform. >> Um just just get get on that UFC Fight Pass and and watch the fights. It's going to be incredible. It's going to be an incredible night of fights. There's loads of wars on it. Like I say, Unplugged is a showcase of Cage Warriors talent. And me and Lee have a definitely definitely two talented guys that are 100% both with knowledge of the stakes. Like Lee Lee knows Lee was told, as far as I'm aware of that, if he hadn't won one of two of those matches that he lost, he'd be signed already now to the USA or signed to this contender series or so. So, he knows what's on the line. And he knows if he beats me, he might get that shot or get very close to it. So, it's it's all to play for. Like he's not going to back down. I'm going to have to break him to get to get it to happen. And that's that's my goal. So, it's going to be incredible to watch. All right. Tune in, 100%. >> Alexander the Great O'Sullivan takes fight at 2:19 BEC Arena, Cage Warriors 206 Unplugged. Make sure to check it out only on UFC Fight Pass. >> The Dana White Show up the orders. >> So Ross, that was Alexander O'Sullivan, your favorite O'Sullivan man. Unfavorite Alexander as well, man. >> Yeah, look, always great to have Alex on the show. CMAC head coach, unbelievable guy, unbelievable fighter, unbelievable backstory. We love to have him on. He's a top talent and can't wait to see him go all the all the way to the top. A massive person on the domestic scene here in Ireland. Someone who is beloved by all. >> Yeah, very very like on the radar for what he does for the scene as well, especially for the IMMA team, etc. So, shoutout to Alex. So, if you are new to The Dana White Show, make sure to like and subscribe because we are here every week, Ross. Every week, man. >> We absolutely are. We absolutely are. And if you are in love with the orders domestic scene, Clan Wars 55 goes down this weekend. Unbelievable as you Clan Wars back there. Trying to help some of the newer MMA talent in the country on this show. But we do have a few veterans fighting on the show as well. Mick McBride is back. He takes on Brad from McClerk. Jerry Downing is back after his win on your Don't Be Silly, Jump the Gilly. Noel Curry is back. He takes on Sammy Papasavvas. In the women's, Alex Budugen from Phantom takes on Katie Power, Daphne Boutard, that name. And Louise Lebrun from SBG Naas on SBG Naas takes on Lucy McNear from Sligo MMA. So, there is a few fights there to be checking out this weekend. Get onto Clan Wars. Pay-per-view link will be in the bio if you're looking for that. But Bazmo, we are going from the domestic scene to the global scene. The Saki fight is off now. There was a poll out there, so that fight is not happening, Bazmo. Unfortunately, we're going to go from the domestic scene to Can we call it event of the year? Definitely probably the most talked about event of the year. UFC Freedom 250. What a name for it. We're going to the White House, baby. >> [laughter] >> Ilia Topuria, Justin Gaethje, Alex Pereira versus Ciryl Gane. Josh Thomson on the card as well. Banned from the press conference. Banned from the What do you make of this card as an overall whole now that we're here? Are you looking forward to this event? Is Is this like the Sphere? Is the venue selling the event more than the actual event itself? >> I think it's way better than the Sphere. I didn't think the Sphere card was actually that great. Like it was very like Mexican-based or like a lot of >> Oh, oh, oh, more just mean like like not necessarily the event itself, more just like the build-up was all about like the Sphere. How's it going to look? Dana White talking about how much money it cost to put the event on. I feel like that's the talk of the White House. Like it's going to be on the front lawn. They're going to walk from the Oval Office. You know what I mean? What's it going to look like? What's the stage like? Who was allowed to go? Who's not allowed to go? I think it like That's more the interesting point for me as opposed to No one's like, "Who's going to win? Gaethje versus Topuria. Who's going to win?" >> Why isn't Josh Thomson allowed to be there? >> be at the press conference. I think they just don't want them there like taking over the press conference. Like he has done previously. I think Dana White's like like that fellow is too cringe. Like he I think that basically they're going to have more eyes on the UFC than ever at this press conference. So, I just think having him there doing like some sort of like weird promo is Yeah, look, he he we have to weigh in. So, like he can do that. >> That's Is he not meant to be Donald Trump's favorite fighter, you know? >> I think he actually Derek Lewis is Donald Trump's favorite fighter. He asked Derek for Derek Lewis to be on the card. >> I know. I thought I thought I thought that changed. >> I don't know. I don't know. We'll have to see. But look, it's it's definitely going to be an interesting watch, to say the least. >> Yeah. >> Like how could at not tune into that? like, you know? >> Yeah. It's going to be more C 2 V. >> Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's exactly what it is. It's more C 2 V. Like I like Look, you have to put it on the card. Like who doesn't like watching him play? Like Justin Gaethje, the highlight reel. The great person to to watch as well. Like um Then you're looking at the co-main like Alex Pereira looking to become the first ever triple champion in the UFC. And then they also said that like Ciryl Gane's fighting as well. Like they keep saying Ciryl Gane's probably the best athlete in the heavyweight division. I don't I wouldn't really agree with that either though, would you? >> I think they look at him and say he's like the best specimen, if that makes sense. Like he's >> I know. >> Well, look, you have to you have to say certain things just to hype a fight. >> Well, also if you think about it, he was going against Tom Aspinall and he was like he looked lighter on the feet. I think they more mean like like he's the most like maybe he is the most like probably now with Pereira there, maybe not now, but he probably was the most athletic if you think about it. Like like he's going against the likes of Derrick Lewis. Although Jon Jones is probably one of the most athletic as well. Playing against Jon Jones. >> Oh, he's retired, isn't he? >> Yeah. >> Well, al- also like Jon Jones I think like his fight IQ and his like almost like his It's almost like makes him sound like a video game player, but his move set was so good. Like the way he like the moves that he had so good. And in terms of like raw athletic ability, like I don't think Jon Jones would be unbelievable American football or >> Well, both of his brothers were in the NFL though. So like that bloodline's good, like you know? >> No, no, definitely [snorts] definitely athletic within his DNA, but I just like I think there's a reason why he did fighting and not in the NFL. Cuz I think he's the least athletic of the brothers. >> Well, cuz I think he has like that that that thing in his head like that he's like I need to inflict damage. Although he could do that in the NFL as well. >> Fair. >> Very fair, yeah. >> But I look it it's it's it's an interesting card. Obviously you have the likes of Sean O'Malley, Diego Lopes on the card as well. Was Bo Nickal on the card. >> Yeah. Yeah, the Luffy Yeah, it's it's it's a definitely Oh, actually it's going to be interesting him versus Chandler just cuz Chandler's Mr. America. Well, like Chandler feels very lost in the sauce in this card, doesn't he? >> Yeah, but they have a lot of like even Sean O'Malley didn't even get asked one question at the press conference. >> Yeah, I think he just enjoyed being there. He's thinking he enjoyed being there with us. He's hoping he's going to be like this guy is insane. >> [laughter] >> It's the Oh, man. Like I like Are they going to do the press conference at like the White House? Like is Trump going to be sitting there? Trump going to be sitting there like like what >> More like is Trump going to be there for the weigh-ins? Is he going to be doing the day of the weigh-in and stand in the middle for the weigh-in? >> He's going to He's going to flick the the weigh-in scales. >> Yeah, yeah, yeah. >> [laughter] >> What are we going to see? >> 245 for Mr. Pereira. He's a big boy. >> [laughter] >> The word Donald Trump dressed up all point. >> Like I don't know if they'll have a lemon. We're all forward when you need them. >> [laughter] >> Wait, you're you're a Freddie Mercury impersonator these days, man. >> [laughter] >> Uh, now look, it's going to be a great guy to watch. >> It's going to be very interesting. Like I mean, look, Israel Adesanya is like definitely one of my top three favorites to watch at the moment. >> Yeah. Yeah, yeah. He's He's mostly TV. So is Pereira. The two of them I think are the two most mostly UFC fighters. >> And we'll give us one more. Maybe Pereira >> Him now. I think they're the I think they're the ones. They're the They're the modern-day superstars. I know Conor's coming back and stuff like that, but I'm talking about ones who are active all the time nowadays who people like All right. They They do numbers. >> They do numbers. Well, that's the thing. Like So, that's meant to go down on Sunday. So, it's going to be interesting to put out a poll and ask like which is the fight people are most looking forward to see cuz like big names. >> I do you about match Pereira versus Gane? Just cuz it's going to be interesting to see Pereira at heavyweight. But >> I know I'm also very excited to see like I think Gaethje versus Poirier for the 2 minutes that it goes on it could be absolutely fireworks. Yeah, but it's even the just touching on what you said there about the Pereira fight like the way in the background all this Eddie Hearn versus Dana White stuff is going on like about Tom Aspinall like it it Dana seems pissed off about that like Eddie Hearn's like not happy as well. Like Eddie Hearn's slagging off Eddie Hearn's boxing events like all this like everything it's just that fight could be very interesting like >> Yeah, absolutely. >> Like there's not a chance Tom Aspinall is going to be at that that that event, is there? >> No, I don't think so. >> And then like obviously for people tuning in like the Croke Park fight was announced I was for Katie Taylor and then obviously Eddie >> Yeah, Dana White's going to promote it. >> Yeah, and then yeah, but then the then Super Boxing are coming back to Dublin as well and Callum Walsh is going to headline that as well. So like we were just I know we were just talking there and like the build-up like the obviously the football World Cup's about to start and like Ireland are not in like in any way competing in that but like this summer for our combat sports is the probably one of the biggest ever in like in Irish history. All right? >> Yeah, yeah, they're they're definitely putting the Like combat sports have been put on the map map for the next few months. The next The next 6 months of combat sports >> No, just even the summer, man. >> Into September September is really the summer. >> I know, but like just okay, well, 6 months is a bit long, but I'm talking about like right Katie Taylor's fighting in Croke >> It's a half year. Like the next half year is one of the biggest half years of combat sports in combat sports history. For for for for definitely Irish combat sports fans. >> Yeah. Okay, yeah, well, you can make you can shorten that down a bit, but yeah, like I mean Conor McGregor's back, Katie Taylor's fighting in Croke Park, there's like more Irish boxing going down in the 3Arena than ever. Yeah, Pierce O'Leary's headlining the 3Arena. >> There you go, that was the other one. Twice the Fury's fighting in the 3Arena. >> [laughter] >> It's got it all, baby. It's got it all. >> I think that was last time it was all right. >> What do you think I got a mustache for, man? Mustache for the madness, baby. >> Oh, mate. The all the all the Oh, man. Polaris isn't coming to Dublin. Oh, Polaris came to Dublin. What a combat sports. What a combat sports. Oh, man. I absolutely love it. I absolutely love it. Do you want to get into Polaris, will we? Um Yeah, just before we just Yeah, just before we do it, we have to give a massive shoutout to Brian Manning who competed in Octagon over the weekend as well. Like, what a like what a week that was for him. We have to touch on him for a minute cuz like that was a huge week for him. He went viral everywhere. The walkout, everything, the fight, we calling out Pooh Catch. And then um unfortunately he lost by decision, but like while he was there, he got a new six-fight contract. Like, they they they were like, "This is our guy." >> Yeah, they love him, man. They love him with good reason. He brings the eyes. He brings the entertainment. He he's actually a promoter's dream cuz he does so much of the content himself. >> Yeah. >> That they just get gifted it. You know what I mean? So, they just need to platform his content and look, for me, yeah, okay, the fight didn't go his own way, but like he didn't get tapped out. He didn't get knocked out. He he sort of got out-wrestled for most of the contest. So, at the end of the day, when something like that happens, it's not really the end of the world. He can come back and go again. He can fill holes and wrestling gaps. Very hard to fill roles holes and like totally getting submitted to you know, if he was it was true for him. >> lay on him for ages. He was wasting time. >> There you go. Like, he he he he he can work to make that not happen again. So, Brian Manning, as always, Músculo TV. With him losing, do you only want to see him any less next time in Octagon? Absolutely not. The want for more Brian Manning is same as it always was. >> [laughter] >> Exactly, Ross. Um yeah, so look, Brian Manning will be back. Look, he he like he he left basically unscathed as well, like so that's what the most important thing is. Then obviously Ross we've covered Clan Wars going down this weekend, the UECs going down this weekend. Uh we have to give a shoutout to Team KFG Omar Tugarev and Dom Norq is fighting on Beat Fight on the 13th as well. But also before we discuss anything else, we have to go into what happened in the Talla Arena, Pascal Arena over the weekend as Polaris 37 came to Dublin. Uh Ross we were covering it. Um I think it's best off that we start with like the John Luca fight and work our way back. >> Yeah, absolutely. Look, John Luca Maltese getting a win over Marcin and I'm going to call it the prelims main event. Unbelievable scenes, very dominant through it, won both rounds. He lost Marcin twice before and look, you could see how much immense immense from him. He was getting the crowd pumped up. Uh he really really made a show out there and I think he's on to bigger and better things and he called out Owen Livesey, uh one of the biggest staticians competitors um on the face of the earth he said. He he's ready to test his Bill McConn wrestling against Owen Livesey's wrestling. So look, I'll be here for it. And then Owen Livesey got back on the post that we posted and said, "Yeah, but we have to do it in Dublin." So have we got another show in Dublin? Uh Matthew Benyon, let's have a look and let's see if we're getting another Polaris show. Uh John Luca could headline again against Owen Livesey and let's make that happen. I think as we saw on the night, the talent is there in Ireland and I am totally here for it. >> Yeah, but just even character-wise. Like I know like we'll touch on more of the that leads as well, but like John Luca is actually like such a funny guy as well in the comments and everything. >> Uh yeah, but the way everyone had the wigs on in the audience as well. Like the afros, like I'm here for it. He's he he is a massive character and I think he did a really really good job through throughout the uh campaign like sort of promoting the event also on the night like he it was a big moment for him. Some people crumble in those big moments. He let his star shine in that big moment and shout out to him and not only actually competing but also um you know post fighting feels well. He did a really really good job. So I know he's working he's working on promo skills. So shout out to John Luca. But look the talent really was on display. >> Yeah. >> Um really really was. We saw a big Mo get get a win over Osbeck. That that's that's a huge win that for anyone who doesn't follow. Um G 2 Christian Osbeck is very very good. So that's a big win for Big Mo over SPG. >> Yeah. >> Kieran Davern >> by the way Mo's Mo's movement is so smooth for someone that big as well. It's a >> Yeah. >> It's it's so slick. >> Yeah. So slick. >> Yeah. >> Very very good. Kieran Davern hit a signature boarder voice sweep to get the win. Unbelievable. So if Daniel Negru won and got his black belt must win for him. Dylan Logan changing opponent the last minute no bother. Still got the job done. George Santos getting the win in the ghee. Wouldn't mind seeing that again on it if Polaris do come back with no ghee cuz it was almost strange to see the one one ghee fight on the card. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> And nothing against it now but >> Yeah. No it was fine just more it's I think Polaris better no ghee in a show like that. Nick Donnelly with a big win over Jack Dolan. He looked great in that fight. >> He was main event. >> Yeah exactly. He was main event. Richie getting the getting the win. That was that was very impressive cuz that was a serious leg leg entanglement with Aaron Scully. Looked like Aaron Scully nearly had him and then Richie pulled pulled out of the bag. That was one of the fastest but most entertaining matchups. Roy Main getting the win. Artem looked really really good against Baker. Kieran Brown getting the win against Andrew Baggan. And Stuart Carmody what a way to open the show. He was very entertaining throughout. Uh, he did a few emo dances, did a uh I suppose the world-renowned now Carmody foot clap uh after celebrate the win. What What a guy. What a show. And then uh shout out to Kaelan O'Malley who ended up in the squads event uh on the day of one of the the Polish competitors got food poisoning and one stage uh the guillotine was jumped on him, his shorts fell down, he still managed to pull his shorts back up and come back with a triangle finish. That was a very very impressive stuff uh by him as well. But what a show, a really good show. The Irish jujitsu scene is on absolute fire. It deserves events of this caliber and let's keep on bringing them out cuz that was absolutely insane. >> Which match up was your favorite one to watch us? >> [snorts] >> I think I like the Donnelly-Dolan one, but I also like the Richie Boogeyman vs. uh Aaron Scully as well. Even though that one was really really short, that one was a real nail-biter uh throughout. They're They're the ones that I think uh really really uh had me going. What about yourself, Bas? Yeah. >> The The The funny thing was the the very very first match of the the day. When Stuart Carmody won Conor D'Arcy. Yeah, that was That was a so fast and like non-stop action. >> Uh Yeah, what a what a great way to start a kick off the event like really really was. >> Uh yeah, like I like I'll see Look, you can look at Kieran's win uh the the the Richie win. >> The Logan's finish. >> The Logan's finish. Like obviously there was there was great finishes, but I just think that first one the the way there it was just non-stop action. Mhm. It was great. And they both went for it and look, it just goes to show what the talent's like. >> Yeah, I know unfortunately uh Amanda Pacman Nunes was unfor- uh not victorious in the in the main event for the women's lightweight title, but look, Lena Kravish is one of the best she did to practice and maybe the best female pound-for-pound in the world right now. So, great to have Irish competitors competing on that world stage against >> Also, Jaclyn and when they get they got up there she was she was in The legs weren't crossed when they were off the coming off the mat and then they got put right back in the middle and then she did >> Oh, did not body triangle and then she did have body triangle? >> Yeah, it was just be like >> Yeah, very very very uh very harsh very strange. Look, these these things happen, you know, when like Again, like Jaclyn Almeida unbelievable competitor. Can't wait to have her back. But look, Polaris what an event like really really was. Please please do come back to Dublin. John Luca Maltese unbelievable stuff. Let's have him fight for the heavyweight title. Big Mo, let's put him in there in another outstanding match. Kieran Davern, can't wait to see him back in there again. Stuart Harmony, more remotes, please. And great to see these people like Richie Boobs Khan great to see people like uh Nicholas Donnelly, Lloyd Rooney Manningan all competing on a master stage where they should be. Let's bring more high-level jiu-jitsu events to Dublin, to Ireland and let let the jiu-jitsu continue to shine, my friend. >> Yeah, exactly. Look, it was great. It was like it it was it was done brilliantly. Like just comparing it to the the ADCC events we go to Ross like what what what you think? Like do you like certain things the way they do the rounds or >> Uh to just different formats. Obviously, it's not bracketed. It's they were all sort of super fights. Uh obviously, the teams event is a different thing. So, I don't think it's necessarily uh comparable in in some regards, but I think look the ADCC I think is brilliant cuz it's bracketed by weight class. So, you find out who's the best at certain levels, uh whether pro, intermediate, or beginner. And then obviously here, you know, they were all really high-level competitive sort of black belts. I think the lowest level was I think Stuart is a purple belt. I think that's that's the lowest belt level, not the lowest level to Jitsu, the lowest belt level. I just be clear. Uh so, look, incredible stuff. I'd love to see them come back and do more cards like that and I'd love to see I'd love to see ADCC Ireland do a quarterly show if you could. I know we're doing three year. I'd love to see them do four four year, I think. That'd be great. I think Kieran Davern would love to do that as well. And I'd love to see maybe maybe we do a four show. Maybe we try and do a show in the National Basketball Arena and we do some match-ups similar to what we've done there and and see how it goes. But uh I think it's really really cool and I feel like you know, it's almost it's almost like uh you know when Wimbledon's on and the final's on then all the kids go out and play tennis. I feel like more people show up for the Jitsu lessons or will be showing up for the Jitsu lessons this week after watching Flaris um on Saturday. >> Yeah, I agree. I'd agree. Cuz they want to go talk about it cuz they're like that that was unbelievable. So, like look at see let's see what happens again in the future, I suppose. But >> But we're not doing there with the Jitsu, Basil. >> No. As we said, this weekend as well the money paying Carla goes down. Now, Russ, this is an interesting concept. What do you make of the concept and what do you make of the athletes looking to win and become the first ever money pay champion? >> Yeah, well, look, they're taking 16 under 99 kilo blue belts and they're all putting 100 euro on the line. A winner takes all scenario. Really looking forward to it. Seeded ranked 1 to 16. And then we have two match-ups where each competitor is putting up 200 euro each and they're going toe-to-toe. So, like the bet matches first, we have Adrian George versus Lockland Enright. And we have Matthew Booth versus Toby Hughes. I I actually think that one's absolute gangbusters. Matthew Booth coming out of Yoda Martial Arts. Toby Hughes coming out of Limerick Slide Boy. I actually love that match-up. I think they're both really really high level. Whoever wins that one Uh definitely be will definitely be someone who would have been cool seeing the 16-man bracket as well. Uh both these guys are really really good, but look, the 16-man bracket is looks really really good. Some really really highly regarded guys there. Um we have like Charlie Fyffe Grove who we've seen loads of times. Adam Mills after a successful run out at ADCC. Caleb Leach out of HMA representing the MMA guys. Your Eoin O'Sullivan, one of your favorite guys to come home martial arts. Eric Allen who actually won a spot in the competition. BJ Dillon. BJ Dillon put out a video he was down videoing that in the Limerick Slide Boy. Um Chris Shout out BJ Dillon by the way. Yeah, shout out BJ Dillon. And Emmanuel Turek as the number one seed. So, these guys are all seeded. It's going to be very very interesting to see how will the number one seed do versus how will Bogdan Cecko do who's the 16 seed. Let's see how all these guys get out. Matthew Rourke was actually going to be in this, but then obviously got called up for Cage Warriors, so he's no longer in that. So, Daniel Toomey's taking his spot. So, I'm really excited to see the I'm excited to see what way the pit looks. I'm excited to see what way the format looks. I'm excited to see how it looks on the day. And look, the best luck to all people there and all the competitors. Hopefully it turns out to an absolute gangbuster event. And I'm looking forward to it. It's definitely an interesting concept as well. Yeah, no, definitely is, yeah. Look, cuz the the more interesting it is, the better it the better it is to talk about and cover it. So, we will be looking at all that action this weekend. So, Ross, is there anything else you want to say to the people tuning in after enjoying that great uh interview with Alex O'Sullivan? No, I just want to say thanks to everyone who does support us. Make sure to like, share, subscribe. And as always, stay energized. The Energized Show, up the Irish. It's the face that runs place, Chaos Cartel. I want to thank the Opiodish MMA community so much for getting behind me. You up the Chaos Cartel.
