Kieran, >> thanks. >> Can you actually get any more things added to your title? >> I don't know about that, but thanks for that for uh thanks for that introduction. It was pretty good. >> Welcome back to the show, Kieran. >> In fairness, >> thanks for having me. I appreciate it. >> You do a lot. You do a lot for uh Irish jiu-jitsu and Irish MMA. So, great to have you here. Obviously, we have you on here because all eyes are heading to the Irish Cup, DCU, ADCC. Can't wait to be there. How excited are you for this one? Oh, really excited for this one. Like kind of building off the momentum off the the, you know, the back of the last one. Um, you know, registration's going well. Uh, preparation's going well. Um, we're we're really excited. So, uh, every event, like every event brings something different. You know, you get new competitors, people flying in from different places and stuff like that. And, you know, new people win divisions and everything else. So, it's uh really looking forward to I always love the the the weekends uh of ADCC. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. And we love them, too, man. It's it's non-stop action. The mats are constantly filled with competitors. It's such a high level. H everyone's in great spirits. I I really can't wait for it. I think it's going to be an absolute phenomenal event. We already have some brilliant athletes uh registered and uh I think everyone in the jiu-jitsu world knows there are a few people who do like to register last minute. So when when's registration closed, Kieran? >> Uh registration will be closed um on the 14th. So a couple of couple of days before the event. Um so like you know obviously you've still time there to prepare and registered you know depending on uh you know what way things are working out for yourself and stuff like that. So another week or so of registration. Um this is where registration starts to fill up um pretty quick. So uh we're really looking forward to seeing like you know who who wins out the divisions and can like previous winners like you know win again and uh kind of who emerges and stuff. There's always kind of like different stories and and things that happen like at each ADCC and upsets as well which kind of make it exciting. you know, last year or the last event we had earlier in the year, you had a couple of like say blue belts and purple belts. I kind of taken out some like say legit black belts and stuff like that. So, it's a it's a really good proving ground for all jiu-jitsu athletes regardless of uh you know belts or levels. >> Yeah, there was there was a few viral moments off the last one. Uh I think uh Aaron Skully um and and the wrestling moments uh with Shane Sweeney versus George Santos that uh that got a bit rough and tumble. So, there was a few moments that uh really went viral there. So, uh, there's plenty of plenty of space and I think there was one or two blue belts that I think Funny who posted a video of him beating a black belt as a blue belt and that went as well. >> Yeah, there was a there was a few that uh really really did some massive numbers on social. So, uh, it's going to be very very interesting to see will there be repeat and who will have the big moment, who will take home the big shiny belt with all the cash. H, I think that's something definitely to look out for. Yeah, and we're looking to uh we have a couple of like say uh new sponsors on board which we'll uh announce pretty soon in the next couple of days. Um we are looking to increase the the prize money you know with the help of the sponsors and stuff like that. So it's giving everyone a incentive to you know jump into the pro division try medal and then eventually jump into the absolute for um you know minimum of a thousand euro but we're actually hoping to get that up couple hundred euro over a thousand quid so we should know in the next couple of days. H more than likely that's going to happen. Uh obviously you have the the master pro divisions. You have like say the female divisions. Um there's chance there to win the absolute divisions as a as a master pro as well. Uh you can win a new shiny belt. Um you know team trophies and everything else that kind of comes with uh ADC. >> Absolutely. >> Kieran, like obviously we were at the last two and like they just seem to be getting better and better. Is there anything else we can expect like that would be new at ADCC Celtic Championship May 16th? >> I think like say more more vendors um kind of like again trying to make it like a you know like more of an event. It'll be like a couple of people like say extra people kind of selling food and obviously there's lads that do the coffees and then there's the merch and there's a few other jiu-jitsu stalls going to be there and stuff like that. So overall just kind of like a good event more prize money for the athletes uh new shiny belts um and just like a a smoother smoother competition. Do you know what I every time we we uh we do an ADCC, I feel we um we run it, you know, uh a bit better than the the previous one. So, I think just like I said, you know, it's always a good buzz. You know, yourself, the music's playing and uh loads of good matches going and you know, it's a really enjoyable day and there's no cage wires on that day, so you don't have to rush off >> for the first time. For the first time, >> what's the sort of feedback been like since the last one as well? Because like when we were there, we it just like it was it was unreal. >> Yeah. uh we we always get like say really good feedback, do you know what I mean? Um and I just feel because we don't oversaturate the competition scene with like too many uh you know ADCCs. I think we do like say three uh adults and teen events uh a year and then we have a kids event now planned for August in Atlloan. So we did that last year and that that went really well. Do you know what I mean? So it's like kids and teens and we did like the absolute belt for the for the advanced uh teens. uh one of the carry young lads uh won the belt. Um so >> was he clapping his feet? >> What's that? >> Was he clapping his feet? >> Yeah, he was. Yeah, I just feel because we don't oversaturate, you know what I mean? And ADC is kind of unique to its own rule set and you know the whole style and and the vibe of ADCC and that. So feel like you get three t three chances a year to to compete at. So uh you know this is this is our second one this year and then one later in the end of the year. >> Yeah, absolutely. Like for me, like as a a fan about jiu-jitsu and MMA, I love seeing the MMA guys go in against the jiu-jitsu guys and see see how it goes. I'm always I'm always interested in that. And especially some of the guys who implement a like grappling heavy style MMA game and they go into the jiu-jitsu competitions and you know, it's it's interesting to see because some of them might have bigger name recognition, but then obviously some of the jiu-jitsu guys are trying to build build that name recognition. Like I look at the the male pro 83 kilo bracket and you have like Martine Zala who's obviously a phenomenal jiu-jitsu competitor but also uh pro MMA fighter Nicholas Donley obviously he'll be fighting Jack D on Polaris which is incredible Daniel Negru who you know obviously does jiu-jitsu and then May Fund Donahoo who's really on the up and coming on the jiu-jitsu scene Kster Salmon and Josela Rujo like that's a really interesting division really really stacked I think any one of those people can get their hand raised and be the 83 kilo gold medal winner. And I think I I'd be shocked if all bronze, silver, and gold didn't go into the absolutes to try and win the absolutes off the back of that. So like really really strong divisions, mix of MMA guys, jiu-jitsu guys, some probably call themselves both these days. I think it's incredible to see and I am here for it. But one thing I did want to ask you is obviously yeah, Polaris is coming to Dublin and obviously that's massive. you're on the card, but do you think ADCC will get a lift from Polaris being there? Because, you know, the jiu-jitsu buzz will be all be, you know, at its highest peak will be this summer. >> Yeah, 100%. So, like you can see like a couple of names that you listed out there like say a few of those lads are on uh Polaris. So you kind of see a good few lads >> I think like jumping into ADCC that are going to be competing on Polaris to um you know like get a couple of like matches in and kind of dust off the cobwebs and kind of create a bit momentum going into into Polaris and stuff like that. So there's a there's a good few lads are actually on the card that'll be on the ADC um uh on the ADC tournament as well. But I just feel like it's a it's a good couple of weeks or months for Irish jiu-jitsu. It's always good anyway. There's always something going on in the Irish jiu-jitsu scene. But I just feel like say obviously for me it's a little bit more uh connected because obviously like say we're we're running ADC and then a couple of weeks after that then obviously I'll be competing on Polaris and uh you know they will have a Jack Dolan will be there from my gym and then we have like said good friends like Reds are you know all the rest of lads John Luca will be there and load of good lads you know lads have won John Luca who's won uh you know the absolute division a few times are ADCC so and you know you've nick Nicholas Donnelly Donnelly that's competed on ADCC and he's on polar Paris and you have like say Daniel Negru who's competing against Redzer and you know he's obviously on it now as well their guy that's registered Big Mo and a lot of lads they kind of make their name through not not just like ADCC but like ADCC is a great platform >> for getting on the likes of Polaris you know we've I've kind of spoke to Polaris lads a couple of times and stuff like that and they've kind of often said like you know we kind of we know such and such a guy uh through the absolute divisions or the pro divisions that he kind run and we thought it was very good. So, we got him on Polaris and stuff like that. So, which is good, you know, just gives gives the lads another another platform in Irish jiu-jitsu. >> Yeah, 100%. Like, not only are you obviously a top competitor in the country, Kieran, but you're also a top promoter in the country in terms of jiu-jitsu events with the three ADC events that seem to be running annually all the time now. And with that, like I'm sure you get people who are are like uh like the Polaris people and like the ADCC trials people been like, "Oh, who should we be looking out for? or who should be inviting to these events, who who's a draw, who who does because at the end of the day also with the Polaris side of things, they also want people who sell tickets as well. Like you want the entertaining people, >> you know what I mean? H like some people might win a lot, but like their style might not be the sexiest and like the you know, it's great seeing someone who's efficient and gets their hand raised, but like people do also enjoy really good styles. And it's going to be very interesting to see >> who like how that Polaris card plays out in the end and how many matches will we end up there because I feel like >> you know you couldn't have enough matches in that Polaris cards and there's loads of people who deserve it like yourself who will be on it and then there's probably people who deserve it who are going to miss out just by >> Yeah% there's so many so many good guys in the country and stuff like that you know from from young younger lads to kind of like you know veterans and you know all color belts are absolutely class. Um but I just feel like there's so many matches on the card that you know yourself the last couple of weeks people start pushing a bit harder like injuries happen and stuff like that. So if you feel that you're there thereabouts do you know what I mean as in like say skill level or maybe you've been kind of in contact with you know certain matchmakers and stuff like that you know stay ready because uh you know when opportunity comes >> uh you have to be ready to take it. But um >> yeah, I just feel I feel like even just off the back of that like that that you know, you were saying about like say lads selling tickets and having exciting styles and stuff like that like say going on the likes of like an invitational show like Polaris and that it's it's kind of similar to the MMA format in the sense that you need to sell tickets and and be exciting. Um, I feel this Polaris card is going to be this is probably like this is probably like I know I sound a bit biased saying this, but this is probably like say the biggest Polaris card they've ever done. Like the the you know from the from the Irish kind of like a undercard like there's class super fights on it. Then you have like say Helen Helina going against Amanda Pamela. Helena is like say the best pound-for-pound female in the world and and Amanda is like you know she's an absolute beast and you know she she's everything to gain from a match like this. Um, and then you have the squads event like say with the uh all-star, you know, Polaris athletes and then the uh the kind of the uh the Brazilians uh you know from the Brazilian team and stuff like that. So it's going to be it's going to be a class night and I think there's only um >> less than 100 tickets left uh as of now. So it definitely will uh sell out. So it should should be a good night. So we might see yourselves there as well maybe. >> Ah yeah, sure. If you put in it be rude for us not be real for us not Yeah. But like look the go that goes down on June 6th by the way. Yeah, >> the the the who's who of Irish jitsu is going to be on that card like you said like you know even like even like and especially the all Irish matches are really interesting like Andrew Mcotten versus Kieran Brown, Ryan Mangan versus Rory Leen, you know what I mean? H obviously >> yourself versus Shane Price, you know what I mean? Like unbelievable stuff, G. Like I'm actually buzzing for this card. I think it's going to be absolutely phenomenal. But uh yeah, anyone who's interested in this should definitely wet their beak. Even if you are a jiu-jitsu spectator, um you can come into ADCC uh on the day the the Irish Cup as a spectator. And it's only a few quid in, isn't it, K or 10 or something like that to to go in. Um but you see some class matches and you'll see a lot of these competitors and future, you know, European champions and ADCC trials winners and >> MMA champions, uh you know, all all competing and it's it's a you know, it's a good buzz. uh music playing, food, good matches, and you kind of kind of get to meet up with the community and maybe buy a bit of merch or you know, whatever you want to do. >> 100%. Like like we've seen the likes of Jeanluca, Maltis, Eric Soua, Germaine, Mogalevki, Will Flurry, Stu, Peter. These have all walked away with ADC championship belts. Some of the best competitors in the country will be there on the day. And it looks like Eric is not going to be competing so far on this one. So, a new champion will be crowned in the pro athletic division. Who knows who it will be? Or who knows, maybe one of the previous champions will will sign up and show up for it. H >> last minute special maybe. >> Yeah, exactly. I'm really excited for it. H I can't wait. I think it's going to be an unbelievable day. >> That Germaine match up against Muhammad like two events ago was just like was absolute quality as well. >> That was a great match up. Yeah. And and Jermaine's an absolute beast and and so is Muhammad. Muhammad has a great match on Polaris. H he's going to go against Christristen Obeck. So that should be like an exciting match up as well and that's like you know high level match up and it's great like you know it's literally happening in Dublin. So there's some class match ups on it. >> Yeah that's >> absolutely. >> Yeah. Well Kieran like you're you're obviously very busy um for the people tuning in now Kieran it will be corning Rona Degan at a league fighting championships that that would have happened over the weekend but is actually happening tomorrow in real life. But uh Kieran, is there anything else you want to say to the people that are thinking about ADCC, think about Polaris, anything? But >> um like say you know obviously like if you're thinking about doing ADCC, you know, get registered, you know, obviously the sooner you register, the the better it is. You kind of lock it in and then you have to like commit to it and you have to do it, you know what I mean? Uh it's it's good experience. It's only jiu-jitsu and you're only going to get better whether you kind of you win or lose. It's a you know, it's it's just that's how you get better and that's how you kind of fast track, grow, and progress. uh with Polaris, if you're looking to get tickets, buy them now because there's literally like I think there's less than 100 tickets left. Uh but trying to tell me friends and family that I'm kind of putting on the long finger like this isn't like you know the way most people are like hyping events and trying to like push ticket sales like it's literally the Polaris Poke thing saying do not ask us for one ticket like uh the week of the competition because like they're literally down to less than 100. Um so it should be a couple of thousand maybe people added and uh it's going to be a great night. Great great couple of months for Irish jiu-jitsu and Irish MMA as a whole >> and one for the athletes competing at the Irish Cup at ADCC. My myself and Baz will be m Matt side all day. If there is a matchup that and you're looking to put on a show and put on a performance and you think you're going to get the submissions and you see us on the side of the mats, don't be afraid to give us a knob in like we record our matchup because uh that's what we are there for to record all the matchups. And uh if if you fancy yourself as a bit of a a showman or a showgirl and you think you're going to put on performance and you say watch this, we're we're more than happy happy to record your matches. So do that. >> Great. Great for the lads as I think we spoke about this before, but like say the amount of like say exposure uh having yourselves there and >> it just adds to the whole you know buzz and entertainment like say at ADCC you have like say you're constantly I don't know how many >> you know videos and stories you posted last time but it was absolutely fantastic and uh you know you created great buzz and we got loads of views and loads of eyes on the event and the athletes obviously get the exposure that they deserve. So fair play to yourselves we always appreciate the work you do >> 100% and I think that's that's that's part and parcel as well. I think a lot of the time the jiu-jitsu competitions you don't actually really get to see the results. You just get to you just like you might go on smooth comp and see oh that person beat that person that person beat that person etc etc. But at least on this occasion you know you'll get to see a lot of the matches and you'll see a few of the competitors journeys be followed from their first match to their last match and we'll try to get we try and always get all the finals uh when we can. So uh we will be there and the coverage will be non-stop from start to finish. Um, we have to we have to bring the old power bank charges and all with us to make sure uh we capture everyone. But we will make sure to catch it all from start to finish and it'll be a terrific day as always. New champions probably will be crowned. I can't wait to be there. Make sure you're there. That's what happened with Eric Sue the last time. puts the name in the hat the last minute becomes a favorite. I'm here for it. >> Yeah, it's it's the f the night before because usually I know Kieran says like you have to get it in by Thursday, but sometimes people uh magically show up on the Friday and you're like when you're going to the events you're like, "Oh, here we go. Look, keep an eye on this person. Keep an eye on that person." So hopefully there's more people to register that we can follow along their journeys because um people like love me while we're posting all the the the action being like, "How's this person getting on? How's that person getting on?" Yeah, like the it's great to cover it because it's so hectic but also so structured at the same time. >> It's I I just love it. I just think it's I think it's brilliant cuz especially when you get the absolute brackets cuz you get people who weigh like 60 kilos going against people over 100 kilos and it's super exciting. So I'm just here for it. I think it's going to be an unbelievable event and I feel like the events keep on getting better every single time and we're seeing more and more competitors every single time. So long may that last and uh especially with Dav competing on Polaris there straight afterwards uh June 6. I think it's an unbelievable uh couple of weeks ahead for Irish too. >> Yeah. So, before we get into this week's action, Ross, over the weekend, Elite Fighting Championships 8 went down in Cork and in the main event, Era Grapple's very own Ronan Degan got the first round submission and has now gone 3 and 0. Ross cornered by Kieran Davvern who's currently over in France. What did you make of the event, Ross? And what did you make of Rowan Degan's victory? >> Yeah, look, obviously Roland Degan, undefeated professional fighting a flyway for the first time uh ever. And look, he got the job done in round one as well. Uh it wasn't an absolute one-way traffic druming, but he got the job done and he got out of there unscathed. So, shout out to him. Uh he's obviously an elite competitor. I think we'll see him on a larger stage next. I think we'll maybe see him on a cage warriors or an octagon h in the near future. He's uh a sublime talent and one to watch out for. >> Definitely. And he's another person who I think he does really well on social media. The way he like puts out content and uh the way he interacts with stuff. It's like the new age of MMA fighters. And I think he's definitely knows what he's doing. >> No, absolutely. He he definitely trains like an athlete all year round. He is always in shape and he's a real student of the game. He's uh doing a bit of coaching down at air as well. So he he's a top man. And look, he's he's somebody you actually want the best for cuz he's such a nice guy. >> Yeah, someone called him the killer barista. >> That's actually a good one. Then we'll get into the co-main event as Cmax very own Ross Quney won by first round TKO Ross he's now one and0 as a pro. What did you make of the victory? Yeah, Ross Carney um TKO finish looked really really good. Striking looked good. Great to see someone in their first pro fight be happy enough to throw the knees. I always think that's uh something that you know you're obviously on kneing your training partners in the head but uh to be able to throw the knees so uh effortlessly throughout the fight I think that was incredible to see got the big finish and look we hadn't seen Ross in a while we were we sort of anytime we speak to the CMAC guys be like when's Ross Quney making his debut and we got to see it and you can see why we were excited for he looks like a man to who's on a mission and at the end of the day uh I know people were saying the opponent he was fighting his record wasn't bad but six wins 10 losses like 16 fights Ross Carney had no pro fights so I think that's more than acceptable opponent to be fighting on your pro debut and that's obviously someone who's a season vet and Ross Carney went out there and dispatched him very quick >> yeah no he he did he did exactly that Ross but like also there was a lot of people from Blancherstown that actually went down to Cork as well to support as well as a lot of people from offley down to support Ran as well so like it's cool to see that these fighters are bringing um people to support them on their MMA journeys. >> Then Ross also we have to give a shout out to MMA Corks Magga Zurabuff who got the victory as well. Ross Maga is back in the win column representing MMA Cork. >> Yeah, absolutely. Maga, I don't think we've seen him fight since 2024. Back in the win column getting the job done. Rear naked choke in the first round. Made it look very easy. And look, I always think it's great to see Irish pros fighting on the card. Fair play to Bario Callan and Lee fighting championships. Three pro fights is not easy to do in any promotion, especially south of the border. Really, really impressive that we had three pro fights and all all the Irish athletes getting the job done, getting their hand raised. Great to see. We're here for a Basmo. Yeah, but like the the the good thing as well about the cage being so big that it it just uh it leaves a lot of room for the fighters to like you focus more on the striking rather than like in the smaller cages you're almost like grappling straight away. You know what I mean? >> Yeah, absolutely. >> Yeah. Then um there was also four title winners on the card as well, but we have to start off with Tom Buckley from Samson's Martial Arts getting the decision win. Uh in my opinion, this was the fight of the night and uh Luca Nadara Dashilly also played a massive part in this fight as well, Ross. >> Yeah, absolutely. Look, this was this is the one that we sort of tip for maybe maybe fight of the night. It was uh two of the best guys in the country h in the division going toe to toe and at the end of the day, Tom Bookley was the one who got his hand raised. H last time out, Tom didn't get his hand raised. So against Ocean Daily. So again, like this is what we're looking at at the top of the uh Irish amateur game. These guys are two of the best in the country going toe to toe. Either one can get the better of them uh the other on the night and this was Tom Bookie's night and what what a night for him. I honestly do think he is someone that we're going to be looking at for years in the Irish MMA landscape. He looks really really good. And so so so they're both Nardash Philly brothers. They both look really really good. >> Yeah. Like the thing is when thought during this fight, the arena was actually going absolutely nuts as well. Like the instead when you're watching it, you just hear everyone going absolutely bananas. >> Then um also CMax Daniel Ara defended his title. He got the first round submission and uh CMAC as we said this team are on a roll and like the likes of Keith Ko, Jordan, um Alex are really putting this team on the map in the country, aren't they Russ? >> Yeah, they really really are. CMAC is on fire at the moment. I think they were finalists for pro and amateur gym of the year uh on the Energize Awards and with very very good reason. They're really doing some incredible things. Alex O Sullivan has run a really tight chip there and you know they're really starting to see the fruits of their labor. Uh Jordan Bradshaw killing Aries Cage Warriors uh um vets in Alex and Keith now Trevor Mckeno doing great stuff. Unfortunately, we didn't get to see Ka at EFC 8, but we will get see her at EFC9. And then the amount of wins on the amateur scene, Jake and Guy, Daniel Lara, um Ross Carney making his pro debut there as well. Like unbelievable stuff. The gym is really really on fire at the moment. So, whatever they have been doing over the last couple of years is obviously really working and long way it last for them. I think they really really deserve all the credit and all the praise that they can get. >> Exactly. Yeah. Also, I can't wait to hear like when Alex O Sullivan, Jordan Bradshaw, and Kiko all have a fight next. Like, we're waiting, lads. >> Yeah. >> So, uh then we have to give a shout out to Huland Martial Arts. Abdu, he got the victory as well and won the toilet. And the thing is Barry Callum put the belt on him, but he put it upside down. Ross, you'd never do something like that, would you? >> No way, Jose. Not in a million years. But, uh probably celebrations of the night when Abdu got his hand raised. And it it was great because uh in the fight previous obviously another belt went home to Hula Martial Arts with Jordan White bringing the belt home and it was crazy to see him in the cage celebrating with Abdu afterwards. Two championship belts going down going home to Hula Martial Arts. What a great evening for them. H the long road up to Dublin was probably a lot better with the championship belts around their waists. >> Yeah, the the Patty's car was definitely a bit heavier on the way home. Uh Jordan also said after the fight that he'd be interesting to turn pro next. So it'll be interesting to see what he does next. >> Yeah. Then the then also Rory Burke from SVG Conl got the round one KO victory as well. First of all, I have to give a massive shout out to Rory. He's like someone who's like been on the RCM for ages, taken the hardest fights and like he got his victory there. So uh shout out to Rory Burcross. >> Yeah, absolutely. One one the finish of the night. Uh, incredible stuff from the SPG clone mel man. And h talk about one of the finishes of night. Uh, Alex Murray with the triangle in the fight before that. That was that was an unbelievable finish from him as well. Uh, really really tight triangle. So, it's it's really cool to see some high level finishes. But then, Baso, tell us this. What was your finish of the night? >> Well, the most exciting finisher of the night was Colum Deni from MMA Cork who got the round two KO. This is in the light heavyweight division. Um, Colum Denny, >> Colum Denny is a problem, Ross. That was the the thing that went through my mind after that after that finish. >> Yeah, absolutely. And then also, shout out to Jack Ryan who got a brilliant finish as well uh early on in the night. And then to Dylan Ralph from SPG Conl who kicked off the amateur uh fights of the night and he got his hand raised with a decision. So look, loads of gyms being represented down in EFC Cork. Unbelievable scenes. But I suppose the stars of the show, Ronan Degan. Really, really excited to see what he does next. 3-0 now as a pro at flyweight. He will be a problem for all comers. So, let's see who gets him. Will it be Cagewires? Will it be Octagon? Ross Quney. What a guy. H unbelievable. Really took to the pro scene flawlessly. Those knees were absolutely exceptional. I can't wait to see Ross Quney. I hope he's on the domestic scene for one more and then he moves on to the pro to the big stages. And then Maggas uh Zurabov, what a guy. He is an absolute legend. Can't wait to see him back out there again. Um R really stole the show on Instagram by telling everyone his fight was off but then saying it was back on. So look, unbelievable scenes. Hula martial arts bringing home two belts. Daniel Lar bringing home a belt. Tom Bookie bringing home belt to Samson. Elite FC had it all. And it it was a great watch. So look the behind the scenes stuff that happens in the regional scene in Irish mixed martial arts isn't spoken about enough and so people just people don't want to know how the sausage is made. I actually text after the fight and said he he's a he's a mix of Max Holloway and Shawn Omali. The way he fights his his movement is fantastic. The his showboating is fantastic. The volume that he it's deaths by a thousand cuts and that's how he won. He got the TKO in the second round. The ref stopped in and said that was enough. And look, he looks sensational in there. He is uh such a joy to watch in there. He he no person I think in this country looks like they're having more fun in there than Fufu Farez. >> Yeah, he's has his own fight promotion as well. He's another person who knows exactly what they're doing on social media, man. >> Far fighting championships, baby. >> Yeah. Then um right, what Okay, which way should we start this now? Because obviously Sha is fighting this weekend, but UFC 32A happen over the weekend. What what way? >> Oh, we go we might as well stay in Ireland and go straight to Shauna Bannon. Shauna Bannon makes her return in the Apex. H this one feels like it's all business. She's gone over there with Gary Rooney. Patty Hul will be flying over now this week. I think Shauna Bannon is out here to make a statement this week. We haven't seen maybe as much from her uh on on the socials in the buildup to this fight. I think she's really taken this camp very seriously. I think she's in here to make a statement. And look, she was telling us she wants to make a run at that top 15. If she needs to make a run at that top 15, she needs to get her hand raised come Saturday night. And look, she's in against tough opponents, somebody who's coming down away class. Bosmo, who did you score the fight for? >> This is actually very interesting. Like um like obviously we can get into all the stuff about the press conferences and everything, the buildup, the hype. Um but when it went into the fifth round, I did think it was too all >> and like in the last round, I like watching it, I I thought it was very hard to call. Now, I'm going to have to admit that I woke up the next morning and saw who won. So, I watch I wasn't watching it live. So, like when you're watching a fights back and you know who won, you're sort of watching it with a different uh pair pair of glasses, pair of energized glasses, but like >> I could see Shan Strickland winning it. I could have understood if Chammo won it as well, like as as you said there, like it was a split decision win. Um, but like I think I think the way the boat acted after the fight that Sean Stricken believed he won the fight as well. And the way Chamaya put the belt around his waist as well. >> Like if you think you actually won, I don't think you're going to do that. >> No, I agree. I agree. I think Chamay knew that the writing was on the wall. I think when you're in the fight, you know, in terms of like strike volumes being thrown, like you know, you know how much you were hit. You know how much you hit your opponent and at the rate they were hitting each other, I'd say it was sort of at least three digs Strickland was landing for every two Hams was landing at a minimum. Uh the volume was all on uh Sean's uh side. It's so funny for someone who's talks about being such a man. He fights so well going backwards. It's it's sort of uh crazy to see all his all his shots they do equate damage over longevity, but there's very few fight ending shots thrown by Sean by Sean Strickland. So >> death by a thousand cuts. >> Yeah, it really is. So, look, at the end of the day, it's sort of weird cuz does he look sexy when he's getting the job done? Absolutely not. Do you look at him and go, "That's the most skilled fighter at 185." You don't. Like, but is he one of the most effective fighters at 185? You bet your ass he is. And he is the new middleweight champion. And who knows where division goes there. It's really open at the moment. Um, I think Brendan Allen has a fight coming up. Joe Pyer has a fight coming up. Drixs 2 plus C hasn't fought since losing the belt to Hamach. I think it's going to be a new opponent as in it won't be a rematch. I don't think uh which may have but I think it's going to be very interesting to see who is next. >> Like the thing is when Strickland won the title I thought it was a bit when he originally beat I was like oh maybe he was just a bit lucky you know but like when the way doing that against Chamay I was like >> he's actually way better than I think but his style is actually so good as well. The way he's like doing the man dance as he says is I don't I don't even know how to explain it because you you don't as you said you don't think he's elite but like he obviously is. So two time world champion. >> There's nothing about his game that you're like >> you say he's the best at that. >> You know what I mean? But like remember they were saying that didn't make way properly and like it's I don't know because you don't want to take away from what Strickland did because the way he like like he just kept using the boxing and then his wrestling was really good in the first couple of rounds like >> I don't know he's he's just he has the what he does is perfect >> and like it's very like the way he like won the crowd over the way and the way the two of Like and Strickland hated each other in the press conferences in the buildup even before the fight and then after they were like best friends was so like it makes you think did they even dislike each other in the beginning? >> Yeah. Like was it all an act? Was it all all for show? Who knows? >> You think it was an act? >> No, I don't think so. I I think why I think there are two guys who do better when they don't like the opponent they're fighting and then after after they had the knock and Stricklin was the winner, I think they were happy enough to squash it. I think maybe Hans if Hamzat won maybe he would have like let him know who the boss was but I think he was humbled by losing so that's the way it went and I and I think I think Stricklin just needs to have a dislike for his opponent one way or the other. >> Well the thing is obviously Will Flurry is going to be fighting soon. He's trained there like we're going to have to like ask him questions about Sean Strickland and al also Eric Nixik like how good of a coach is he as well because the game plan as well. Yeah, look, he he's the man, you know what I mean? He he is Sean Strickland's the man. Eric Nick's the man. I mean, it's hard to it's hard to have coach someone to a world championship, but it's even harder to coach someone to a second world championship after they lost it. So, fair play to Sean Strickland. I think him versus Drias D should be next. I think that's what I want to see and look I'm here for. And look, it wasn't only the good good fight of the night. The co-main event, the flyweight scrap was unbelievable. Tier really gave it to Van in the early rounds rounds. Van came back. It looked like Tiara's like grappling heavier style h led him getting tired and Van just remained there at all times and as the rounds went on he was able to get the finish uh late on the fifth round of the fight. So look, Joshua Van, I think him versus Pantosia is like a shoe in for next fight. But I also think someone like Manal Cape is fighting Heruchi next. You know, the winner of that could also be looking at a title shot as well. So uh insane to think it's 2026 and Heruchi still in the title picture. But uh look, he's he's an absolute freaking aer. And that flyweight division is heating up a bit because there's three or four guys there who are who are trying to be the top dog. No, that was a qualified fight like Tara Tara had to be stopped from himself by by the ref, but no, Josh Van is a is a big problem there. So, uh >> yeah, I'm looking forward to seeing him back in action as well. Um also winners on the night, Alexander Volkov got the decision win, Sean Brady got the decision win, and then shout out to King Green who got the submission in round one against Jeremy Stevens. Um that was very impressive. Um, also another person I I want to say as well, well, Ativa Gaier from Manchester top team got the win, but Yaroslav Amos got a very impressive submission round two victory and he is another person that'll be looking for that that title shot as well in the middleweight division. >> Yeah, absolutely. He's >> no welterweight. No, sorry, excuse me. Welterweight. Yeah, look, I think obviously because he's coming over from Bellator or PFL, whatever way you want to say it, I think he's just getting slow rolled. But, uh, look, they keep on putting people in front of them. He keeps on finishing them. He's going to get into that top 15 very, very quick. And once he's there, I don't think he's going anywhere. So, he's he's definitely someone who down the line, I think him versus Islam Makachev is a fight people would love to see because they're both have that heavy wrestling base. So, let's see what happens. >> Yeah, he also got he won the title in Dublin as well at Bellator. And then Russ Jim Miller as well. He's after signing a new five contract. At the moment he has 46 UFC fights. Will he or won't he make it to 50 UFC fights? >> That's not MMA. Not MA. >> I think I think he's guaranteed though. I think I I think he I think they should like match him up well as well. There's no point trying to make him have a run at the title or anything like that. But look, against these young guys, you know what I mean, who are obviously a hell of a lot less experienced than all it takes is one mistake for him them to make and like he will jump on your neck and he will snatch that neck up. He is an absolute phenomenal athlete and a phenomenal fighter and every time he fights I'm cheering for Jim Miller. >> No, same here. And then also Roman Cop was on the early prelims at that shop is a problem, man. >> Um Ross, we already mentioned that Shauna is fighting this weekend. Um, this Saturday, as we said, it's in Vegas in the main event, Arnold Allen is taking on Melziel Costa. Ross, who are you expecting to win this one? >> I don't know a lot about Mazik Costa. I've only seen him fight once or twice. I'm going to go with Arnold Allen. I feel like anytime Arnold Allen doesn't fight someone very elite, he gets his hand raised and I think that's what we'll see here again. He's obviously the more experienced of the two fighters and co met him once twice and really like him. I'm going to pick him. >> Yeah, that bias man at the moment on Wikipedia is saying that Shauna Bannon is going to be the first fight of the night. >> So that would be on around maybe 10 days early. >> Yeah, >> but us man. >> Yeah. >> So, uh let's go Shauna Bannon. Um, also on the night as well, Netflix MMA will be making the first ever MMA show on the platform. Um, in the main event, Ross, we have the return of Ronda Rousey against Gina Carano in the featherweight division. Ross, who are you expecting to win this one, man? >> I think Ronda Rouse is guaranteed to win. I think she'll win early enough. Gina Carrano is like I think well into her 40s. Um, Ronda Rousey looks like she's still in fairly good shape. So, I think Ronda Rousey will get get the job done. And I think she'll get an arm bar at some stage. It'll be it'll be old school. It'll be a judo throw, arm bar. Job done for Ronda Rousey. She she uh is your Netflix main event winner. H I'm more interested in the other two fights. I think uh Nate Diaz versus Mike Perry is a great co-main event. I think five rounds as well. Obviously, uh Diaz known for his cardio, but Mike Perry's been doing a lot of boxing um which in in a longer format. So, it'll be interesting to see who wins that one. Um, I'm probably going to favor Nate Diaz, uh, just because it's MMA style, because I think his jiu-jitsu is better if it does hit the ground. And then obviously Francis and Ganu is fighting, uh, Philip Lind, so I'm really looking forward to that one. I think everyone's sort of hoping in Ganu will win by viral knockout, but uh, we'll just have to wait and see. Philip Lind is isn't a newcomer to the sport and isn't isn't there to roll over. He's there to make a big name off himself over beating Francu. So, let's see how it plays out. But it's going to be interesting to see how Netflix does it as as an overall whole. Basmo. >> No, it is. I know there's Joshua Parker. I know there's Deontay Wilder, but I think Dubo is building a big name for himself off the back of that fight.
