What an introduction. >> I'm good. >> The the introduction is only one one millionth of how entertained that fight was there at the weekend. Cage Warriors unplugged 197. You got the anonymous decision win over Mitch Good. How good did it feel to actually get back out in there? You've had a few let downs as of re recent times. And get out there and just show what you're made of. >> Yeah. Um such a long way off. Um very very long. But uh you can see that I was happy. I was happy to get in there. Maybe a we bit too happy sometimes, but uh I I had fun. I had fun. As I say, maybe we had too much fun, but just good to get in there. Um, and it's a lit being in there again. Like I try I've just finished training the day again. I'm straight back at it. Um, it's lit even more of a fire. I'm more hungry than ever now. >> Yeah, absolutely. Uh, obviously we'll we'll we'll get into the fight and and your opponent. Uh, Mitch Good, very tall and and long and rangy fella. Um, he he was, you know, Brazilian jiu-jitsu back belt going into this fight. dangerous opponent for yourself. But h you went in there and you look comfortable in all facets of of the game. H obviously on the feet we saw I'm going to call it the moment of the fight where you stood in front of him hands down eight four or five shots straight clean and said yeah what's up? What else have you got? Like tell us about that moment like what was going through your head when you went hands down and you were like let's have you >> not a lot of sense I would think through my head at that stage. Uh um it caught me with a like a spinning back elbow around like the back of the ear and it kind of [ __ ] pissed me off a we bit. So I was just like, "Yeah, let's [ __ ] go then." Um yeah, I could see him sort of as he was hitting me, I could see him in his eyes, he sort of breaking a wee bit. He was getting a wee bit and the the breathing was getting a we bit heavier every every shot he threw. So, um I think I just wanted to sap as much energy out of him as possible to to make that third round a we bit easier or even I try I was trying to finish him obviously, you know, but I knew if the finish didn't come that the energy would have been sapped out of him a good bit. So, the third round would have been when my round of take. >> Yeah. And look, it it definitely did. I also think uh some of those body shots really took it out of him as well. That that's something that we see in your game all the time. When you were hitting with those body shots, could could you feel them wining? Could you feel him really uh getting that energy zapped out of him? >> Yeah, for sure. For sure. Uh I love working the body. It's uh it's probably one of my best one of my best attributes, you know, my boxing and stuff. So, yeah, he took him well. >> He took him well. He was a tough guy, too. You know, he didn't uh he didn't he didn't look for a way out at all really. You know, he stuck in there. He >> How'd it feel to finally get back in the cage? because obviously you've been out for over a year and you were set to fight like um just before the Dublin event and then then you finally got to show everyone and especially the middleweight division what you're all about. >> Yeah. Yeah. I I could just have to say I wasn't I wasn't very happy with the performance to be honest. Um I can say it now. You know, I would never have brought it up if I lost, but I was nursing a bit of an injury going in um for a good few weeks. Couldn't really train properly fully. Um, so the fitness wasn't really just the the grappling side of it and stuff wasn't there. Held me back a wee bit from the performing the way I normally would or what what the way I wanted to. So this one sort of had to just be a grind. I knew would I would have to grind it out to get to one. But uh yeah, I know I have that in me. I know that no matter what I can I can outdog somebody. I can I believe I can do that to anybody. Um but I don't have to. my skill. I know I'm skill for skill. I can go with the best order, too. Um I just need to show that. That's why I'm hungry and I'm so hungry now more than ever because although people are saying, "Yeah, that's that's cool." And it was a good performance stuff. I I'm not happy at all with it. It didn't show half of what I'm capable of. So >> yeah, it was it was cuz like with your Cage Warriors debut like your finish went viral like everyone was talking about you and then now you're back and then when you're perform like that with the hands down like everyone was talking about it. I think it was the most viral clip of the night. Bar the one in the in the first fight where your man was like pretend to kiss your man's ass. >> Oh, that was weird. And it was it wasn't a case either, Baz. The tongue was out, >> man. The kids watched the show as well. I didn't want to get too graphic. >> Thank God. I start to get in the face. >> Yeah, I think I think so. But no, Jordan, look, look, it was what I would call vintage Jordan O'Neal, but but you are right. We we heard Chan though in between rounds. Um he was he wasn't the happiest with uh lack of defense, but you could hear at the start of the third round, you know, you kept your distance a bit better. You picked shots better. And you could hear the elation and the praise him that he was like, "Right, you're going back to what we actually discussed doing in the build build up this fight." But if anything, you know, >> probably not something you should probably be doing again. But it was it was like a moment that really caught caught the attention of the internet over the weekend. It was moment that like really up your stock like uh you know Brad Warden was singing your praise till the cows come home uh on the commentary team and it is something again like you got a win over a high level Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt. Um you were closer to submitting him than he was closer to submitting you which is uh always pretty cool uh to have that as well. So look massive win for yourself. I I suppose when looking what's next like it has to it has to be that cage warriors 200 card in Dublin. You know it's going to be a big card. Graan's reaching into his own back wallet and taking out 10k for uh for a bonus incentive on the night. You know >> you you've got a young family at home Jordan >> you'd always be you'd always be a contender for a fight of the night bonus. So you got to you got to be looking like get me on there. >> For sure. Definitely definitely um that's that's the first thing I say when I come out. I like right D now I want Dublin one. Um I missed Dublin on I think it's two shows now I've missed on Dublin due to injury or or or pull out or whatever. Um I really you know where I'm from it's like there's I get so much back in here like genuinely. >> Yeah we feel it. We feel it when you fight. We see it. >> So proud so proud of where I'm from. So proud of the people of where I'm from. Um they are fight they're they're fighters. Everybody in this town is a fighter genuinely like they're all they're all tough people and they get behind you. Um so I would love a fight in Dublin to to get a couple of buses down and give them a good big night. You know a lot a lot of people still travel over to England to watch my fights and stuff too. You know which is unbelievably appreciated. would love just to have a home show for them so that they can all go down and, you know, have have a good night, you know, and put on a good performance for them. >> Yeah, absolutely. Like I feel like um your support sort of crosses many towns uh across North like I see the guys in Limat are always shouting out and you know the >> obviously obviously uh now fighting out to fight Ireland, you have a massive Belfast support as well. You know what I mean? like you have support across numerous towns uh up north and you're you're someone who whenever we have on the show or whenever we post out we always find you know the post gets that bit more attraction people love a bit of bit of uh Jumbo O'Neal they really really do so and like look as much as you're an absolute animal in the cage people have a lot of respect for you as a person you know what I mean like you're a family man you know you're a businessman like you know I mean you do a lot for the people around you so uh fair play to each other but we'll always have your back anyway we love important. >> You're always very entertaining, man. You're always very entertaining. >> Yeah. But that's that's what this sport's all about. H even in the buildup to your fight as well, you're putting out a lot of content as well. Where where that those ideas come from and did you enjoy doing that stuff? >> Yeah. Um Matthew Brown, Matthew does live his name on Instagram. Um he's only really started this this as well. Um but he's a fighter. He's a fighter himself. He does and stuff. Um he comes up with most of the ideas. I I'll take no credit for that to be honest. He's he's very very good at what he does. Um, basically we just came together and I want my Instagram to be as authentic as possible to represent me and and uh just I like to try and just been as honest and genuine as I can because I believe if you're from Ireland and you can fight and you just be yourself, you'll get back in. You don't have to put on no show or facades, you know? It's just be yourself. You're Irish, you can fight, you'll get back in. So, I just want to present who I am, what I'm about, and if people like watching it, then happy days. But it's kind of for a log so that I can look back after my career and go through it all and watch it. It makes sound selfish, but that is kind of one of the main reasons is just to have it all there to look back on. >> I don't think it's selfish at all. I think it's I think it's a really good idea. I think it's it's great to have everything documented for yourself. So you can go back and you can show show the young kids being like >> this this is your daddy back in the day. He was an absolute animal. You know what I mean? >> Uh I find a lot of the photo academy Ireland lads are doing that as well. And that's that's a great way to get your name out there. Like someone who deserves a shout out as well is actually Amy Scully out of SPG Ireland. Like the way she documents her uh like camps and training and everything in between is amazing. And she's still only an amateur as well. But uh Jordan, you're also touching on some of the stuff you do behind the scenes as well. You you do a lot for mental health. get a lot of people in training with you. Can you sort of explain how that's going and uh how that all came about? >> Yeah, it goes it's going really well. It's going really well. Um, as I say, where I'm from, they're tough people, but uh, you know, it doesn't matter. Like, it's sometimes it gets a we bit too tough sometimes that you need a we helping hand. And not even that, just to get out of the house for an hour and then to talk to people and have a bit of crack, you know, and that's that's kind of not missing, but for people that don't play G or don't have certain clubs to go to, um, they kind of miss out a we bit on that camaraderie, I think. So, I wanted to make a space for people to come. Um, get out of the house for an hour and share share what's going on. Um, and if they need help, they need help and hopefully we can point them in the right direction to get the help they need. Um, while having a bit of fun and learning a bit of MMA and self-defense and stuff. So, it's going well. Um, I'm getting good feedback and you know, there's guys that are that it's helping. They're telling me that it's helping. So that's all that matters to me to be honest is if I can help somebody get out of a dark place. Job done, you know. >> No, that's great. And I'm sure they can't wait to learn that new skill with the hands down. Isn't that right, >> Ros? I don't think that I don't think I'll be showing that at the class. >> No, no, no. >> So we need >> No, definitely not. Especially Especially if Jumbo's the one doing the punching. >> What What are we learning tonight? This is how you get brain damage. Fair very fair. >> Don't do what I do. >> Tell us this jumbo. Obviously you're 4-0 now. Um recently we saw Solomon Simon win the cage wires belt at um 7 and0. Um I was only looking that recently there um cuz Ian and Gary fought the weekend. He won the belt at 7-0. Is that something that you you do you think three more fights and you could be fighting for the title? And I know it's a bit of a a funny situation with uh Patty on the custom of title shot as well, but like who knows in two or three fights. I I I assume he hopes not to be in Cage Wires anymore and he hopes to be in the UFC, but is that something that you can see yourself competing for the Cage Wires belt in three fights time? >> I've always I've always I've always wanted to be like I always I know I will be a world champion. Um whether that be the Cagewires belt or any other whatever comes whatever happens. um fully believe the big man's got a plan for me. Um the way my career, the way my life works out sometimes, um you always think that's oh this this gets taken away, this gets taken away, but something always better comes, you know. So um I don't like to plan too much ahead. I'm going to work like a dog here now for this next year. I mean like this is the year. This is the year. No more messing about. No. Uh, no stone will be left unturned this time. I will be completely locked in this year. So, >> if that means fighting for the belt at the end of the year or send the UFC, >> I don't mind. Whatever comes first. >> Oh, I'm looking forward to if if that if a locked in Jumbo O'Neal means an active Jumbo O'Neal, like sign me up. >> Sign me up. >> It's it's going to be a big year ahead for you. Uh the momentum's definitely shifted right into your direction and a long way to say that way. I suppose you're putting good out into the world by uh helping others and now that good's come back to four-fold and uh obviously uh yourself and Hannah have a beautiful little family there. So like come in like >> you you you guys deserve all the best and happiness. Basmo, tell me this. Is there if if you if is there a fighter on this planet who you rather watch fight tomorrow than Jordan O'Neal? >> It just is that way, isn't it? It's just it's just like if he's fighting, I'm watching. Like I don't care. I don't care if I'm at if I'm at a christen, I'm at a wedding, you know what I mean? If I'm at a funeral, I'm putting on Jordan O'Neal when he >> Yeah. We I think we said it off camera. It was more like when we we went to Cage Legacy years ago when you fought uh Troy like that that ever since that fight. We we still talk about that fight to this day saying it was probably it was one of the best all Irish fights we've seen live ever. Like so like um what a night that was as well. But uh look, there's plenty more big nights ahead for you as well, Jordan. Um before we wrap things up, is there anything you want to say to the people that were supporting you in the buildup to the fight that like messaged you that you haven't gotten back to or new people are tuning in now to to learn new techniques off you that you like to say to them? >> Thanks. Um just just what I've said before, like um super proud of of where I'm from, super proud of my the people from here and all the support I get. Um Hannah, you know, it's not it's not very very easy to be going with a fighter, I don't think, or being, you know, engaged to a fighter or living with a fighter. Sometimes it it can get tough. And she's in it just as much as me, if not more. So, uh big shout out to her and um the team the team u big Kel's Big K's my corner from the very very start um and will be um for the future as well. So he's always got me back, you know, >> big health. >> Big believed in me before before I believed in myself to be quite honest. Um back at the very start, you know, so I wouldn't be I definitely wouldn't be where I'm at without him. So big shout out to him and all the team Shando Pat the guys in Belfast. I'm exactly where I need to be and I'm very very excited. >> You know what? There's fewer happier people in the Irish MMA scene. The big house like when you re he's always got a big smile on his face. He's always happy to help out. Big fan. He's uh he's probably an unsung hero in the Irish MMA scene. You know what I mean? He's if he's got your back, he's got your back for life. Uh we love him here at the end shop. Big fans. >> Yes. >> Well, >> he actually let me drive his car one time, believe it or not. >> Yeah. Straight to the guard station. No, you mean No, I'll tell you. I'll actually tell you the story. Reese McKe was fighting Jimmy Wallhead for the Cage Warriors welterweight title and we were down in Dublin and there was a media day on and they were doing faceoffs outside the three arena and um we were over somewhere else for press office and he goes, "Ross, do you know how to get to three arena?" I go, "Yeah, it's just across there." He goes, "If you give him my keys, will you drive us there?" And I was like, "Grant, they drove him there, did the three arena bits." He goes, "Grant," he goes, "Do you live far from me?" I go, "No, only up the road." And he goes, "All right, you drive us back to Urgrapha and then uh we'll we'll head off from there." So, what a guy gave himself a lift home in his car. >> Oh, man. >> Yeah. Reese McKe in the back, what's called I was being choer, you know what I mean? He was treated, he got the superstar treatment, you know. The reason let the reason let you carry the belt while driving. >> Absolutely not. ruthless man. Uh Ross, we were just touching on it there with Jordan that Cage Warriors 200 is in Dublin on February 21st. I think now because there's no Irish fighters scheduled to fight until obviously that event, which Irish fighters would you like to see at Cage Warriors 200? >> Yeah. Well, I think um Solomon Simon versus Nick Bagley has been sort of temporally uh or tentatively scheduled for that date. So like I think that's one I love see Jordan O'Neal on the card. H I think Patty Mccur could be either headline or co-headline status depending on whether he's going to fight for the belt or not. H I think that's a massive fight. Uh, I'd love to see Adam Derby versus Leon Hill on the card. I think that would be a massive welterweight showdown. I think the winner there could easily fight for for a title. Um, let me think. Max Liy obviously brings a lot of attention. I'd love to see him on the card. Same with Conor McCarthy, Gary Rooney. Um, if we're having a few young guns on the card as well who are like fresh off their their career, I'd love to see Damian McGwigan on the card, Mas Oliver on the card. Roman David looked really really good there at the weekend. I wouldn't mind h seeing him fighting on the card. Craig McGraten on the card. I think there's plenty of fighters on the cards to to get there. H Keith Ko as well. the Freak Show, Alex O Sullivan, you I mean the Ronan Degan, like the names are relentless. I I I think we're gonna have to do a lot of Irish on Irish um to make this card a massive card. Also, I hope Cage Warriors go all out. I hope it's like a 15 fight card. H I know it means we'll be there all day, all night, but at the end of the day, I think it's a massive card. A lot of fighters want to fight on this card, and uh I'm obviously pulling for it. Did I leave anyone out, Basmo? Yeah, definitely, man. We're gonna have people giving out definitely after this, man. >> Yeah. Well, I'm sure there's a lot of people who like would love to go pro to fight on this card, you know? H like I wouldn't say someone like Blame McIll has a lot of fights left that pro. Uh I'm sure Emma Core probably would love to get on a cage warriors card. Um >> Jack Core. >> Yeah, Jack Core. Um the core bros like there there's abs Oh, Kieran Brady as well. I'd love to see him if he if if he's uh willing able to get back out there. I'd love to see him on the card. Like there are abundance of talent in there. And then you obviously have the likes of like Jer Harris who looks like he's going to fight on the card. He had to pull out of the Manchester show. >> He'll be there. Lewis Burns another one. He's three and0 now. >> The Shelly Brothers, >> the Shel Shelly brothers. Um Dom Norcus a returning to Takamandu. I'd be all over that. You know what I mean? there there's plenty of fighters there thereabouts who I would love to see uh fighting on these cards and look the talent is is endless there you know >> yeah and Jordan definitely just booked his name on that card definitely after that performed >> oh absolutely he 100% did >> yeah okay I'm going to put you on the spot now if Patty McCari fights for a world title at Cage Wars 200 and Solomon King Simon is obviously going to be on that card which fight do you think headlines the It depends. If Patty Mccuri's fighting uh Dario, I think that will be the headliner. But if Solomon King Simon is fighting uh Baggy and Patty's fighting for like the vacant middleweight title, uh I think Solomon King Simon will headline. >> Okay. Okay. Uh okay, Ross. >> Oh, sexy fights. >> Also, hold on. Forgot to say I think we'll see the return of James Sheen, former welterweight champion at Kors 200 as well, which uh will be real sexy. If I had my way, it would be Patty Mccari versus James Sheen for the vacant middleweight belt. I think that would be an absolutely unreal fight. Oh my god. We will keep you up to date with who will be on that card as well cuz that is uh on February 21st and that'll be here before you know it. Also ADCC Ireland will that event will be on in DCU sports complex on the same day Ross. So we are looking forward to that. We're looking forward to >> love doing that. >> Yeah, we're looking forward. >> Cage Warriors love doing that. Either or. >> Yeah, 2026 is going to be a big year form. Look at all these wins and people coming off very impressive like fights like like it's just going to get bigger and bigger. So uh we should carry on. Ross, um, just touching on the event that Jordan just came off, Kraw 197, Irma Darcy was unsuccessful in her fight as well, and it looked like the referee sort of let this go a bit longer than people would have agreed with. Um, people are saying that she received over 40 strikes and um, the ref should stopped it ages before. What What were your thoughts on this, Ross? >> Yeah, the fight was done at least 20 strikes before the referee stopped it. Um, Darcy was flattened out. She was just eating shots. She was never going to come back and win that fight from that position. It should have been stopped. Um she we saw after the fight when she got up, she took an outrageously large amount of damage. And look, first and foremost, I hope she's doing okay cuz that was pretty brutal. And then secondly, like the ref did a poor job on that occasion. No, 100% agree. Hopefully she's doing better as well. Um then also Russ then that was on Friday night. huge night. Jordan Neil obviously one of the biggest wins on the on the card like just that the virality of that like how much that helps your stock improve is crazy. But then it went into another Cage Warriors event in Manchester, Cage Warriors 198. Um I think we should start at the Matu Fel was defeated. Uh Ross, this was a very strange one because Matthew was obviously meant to fight at Cage Warriors Dublin. um his opponent missed weight then he had like a a short notice replacement on the day to fight on this cage warriors card and he was unsuccessful Ross what where does Matthew Freel go from here yeah I feel very very bad for Matthew Freel he's obviously his record now moves to one and three he's been let down by his opponents twice now last minute change um Nathaniel Woods fighting out of Manchester top team came in uh on a day's notice. Looked really really good in fairness to him. Got the win. He took his opportunity and made the most of it. Can't blame him for that. Um but Matthew Fel I think maybe one or two uh regional fights may maybe fights on the next uh Akuma show as a as a headliner or something like that. I think that could be a a great option for him. But I think um he definitely needs a win next time out. And look, I think he needs to really look after himself and make sure that he's taken on these opportunities and opponents with a full training camp and with a a game plan in mind for this opponent. At the end of the day, I felt like he was still in a rock in a hard place and because things didn't work out for him in Dublin, I felt he probably thought he was compelled to take this fight. >> Yeah. Raw from raw from >> Yeah. Well, let's see what happens as well because uh look at the way Aron McDonald's building his career back up with fight academy as well. So hopefully if Matthew can get as he said on auma or a cage conflict and then get the ball rolling again in 2026. Um then there was also two team KF fighters on the card as well. Roman David made his pro debut and was successful. Ross, how impressed were you with Roman David's victory at Cage Warriors 198? >> I was very very impressed with Roman David. Not only was it very impressed with him in terms of what he did throughout the fight, but I think the thing that impressed me most about Roman David was his level of composure in there. He looked like he this was his third or fourth fight under the cage warriors banner. He looked so comfortable in there. His shot selection and was excellent. Uh he dropped Soda at one stage in the fight and everything. H I thought it was undeniable when it went to the judges scorecards. So it looked like he was disappointed but uh the only disappointment he should have probably is in himself. Roman David looks spectacular on the night and for me I had a three rounds to nil off of Roman David. >> Yeah. No because obviously on the end shows Instagram page we're putting out fighters that are turning pro to keep an eye out for and uh Roman's name wasn't mentioned. So when he announced that he he was pro he was fighting in a few weeks like it was just a click of the fingers and then look now he's going to be another person wanting to get in that cage warriors two undercard. Um >> 100% Basmo. I think it was just one of those ones where you know with his uh amateur career towards the tail end of it you know he hadn't fought since May 2024. So like didn't really know where he was going and then makes pro debut in November 2025 but as we can see the work obviously didn't stop because he was sharp. >> No. Exactly. Uh then in the main event, team K team KF's Omar Tugrev was defeated by Omil Brown for the interim cage warriors lightweight title. Ross, first of all, what did you make of the fact that Omar defend an interim title and second of all, what did you make of the the fight itself? >> Yeah, strange defending an interim title. I'm not really a big fan of that. I think if the champ can't compete, I think, you know, you have to either look at stripping them or, you know, doing something else. But at the end of the day, it's a bit of a funny one because obviously the champ went off and fought a contender series and then lost and got knocked out. So funny territory. Funny territory. And then obviously the champ before that was George Hardwick. Uh who also uh fought in the UFC. Um so >> Contender Series and lost as well. >> Oh, sorry. Contender Series. Sorry, I was thinking Harry Hardwick. Uh sorry, George and Font Contender Series and lost as well. So uh look, hopefully Emil Brown can break that duck if he gets called up to the the Contender Series. Uh it was a tough first round for him. Uh Omar Trev probably close to a 108 in the first round. Very dominant in the grappling. Uh Emil Brown didn't have a lot of answers but he made some adjustments. He let his hands go in round in round two, three, four, five, bit more and then he started to dominate the grappling. It was um it was a it was a fight that was very sort of almost Jack and Hide with the first round being so dominant for Omar. Looked like he gassed out and then Emil Brown took over from there and there was even some lovely overhand rights from Omar Trav at the start of the fight that we just failed to see in the coming rounds afterwards. We saw Chris Fields very very vocal h between rounds three, four and five, letting Omar know exactly that he was accepting certain losing positions and u you know he he was effectively hugging his opponent as opposed to actually fighting him. H told him it wasn't a jiujitsu match. So look obviously Chris was trying to fire up his uh his fighter and trying to get get a different tune out of him but we just never saw that different tune in the end. and Emil Brown won 4946 I think nearly across all the judges scorecards. Um massive win for him. I think his entire pro career has been under the cage warriors banner and he's bringing home goals for the first time. I don't think it's the last time we'll see Omar Tugrev uh fighting for for a belt in his career. It's his first professional loss and at the end of the day I think um it look more like a gas tank issue than a skill skill level issue. So we can definitely see him improve that and fix those mistakes. >> Yeah. No, cuz Omar is like very very high level. So we like we'll definitely see him fight for gold again soon. Um Ross, that was Cage Wars 197 and Cage Wars 198. And they will have a Newcastle show coming up on the 6th of December. So that's next weekend as well. Um we'll keep you up to date on that as well. Next week's show. Ross the UFC was back over the weekend. It was in Doha in Qatar. Um, we have to discuss obviously the main event Armen Sarukin defeated Dan Hooker, but we also have to get into the fact Ian Garry defeated Balam Muhammad. >> Yeah, absolutely. I suppose Sukin beat Hooker. I think a lot of people thought Sugan was going to beat Hooker in this fight. I suppose the only question is did he do enough to earn himself a title shot? I think he has done, but whether it makes business sense to give Sukin Tot next, I don't know. Patty Pima versus Zilia to Poria is the biggest fight you can make at lightweight. That's the fight I'd be leaning into. Um, Sukin versus Max Holloway maybe on the same card I think is is a nice co-main event. Five rounds you could do maybe for the BMF belt if you wanted to. And if there's any issues in the title fights, you can play around with those four fighters. But I think those are the top four guys. I know people are saying Justin Gachi there as well. You could do Serukian versus Gachi if you wanted to, but I think you know Holloway versus Gai too I think is a is a bit of a sexy fight as well. So do what you want with them. H but I think Patty Pimlet should fight for the belt next. I think it makes the most business sense. It's the biggest fight to make and versus Patty would be absolute fireworks from the pre conferences to the Astral scrap itself. Uh just at the moment we have a poll out on the Energize Shows Instagram page saying who's next for Aras Harukin. Uh Ross, the options are Ilia Taporia or Max Holloway. Uh at the moment, what do you think the people who follow the Energize Shows Instagram page have voted? >> I'm going to say 75% Taporia. >> At the moment, it's 85% Ilia Tapora, 15% Max Holiday. Ross, you have you don't know what the people are that following an energized show want these days, man. >> All you talk about was very close. >> 10% man. 10%. >> That's not a lot. >> It's only a difference of like 100 votes, but it's not a lot. >> Oh man. But where else you would you get this crack, man? Um Ross, the co-main event, Ian Mashado, Gary defeating Bal, remember the name Muhammad by unanimous decision. Ross, what did you make of Ian Ingar's performance here? And where does Ian Gary go next? >> Yeah, I think Inan Garry was very Ingaresque. He was very elusive. He used his length very, very well. He threw some lovely techniques. He sort of played that bit of cat and mouse. He, you know, he was hitting and getting out. Um, he, you know what, Ian Garry had a really, really good fight week, I'm going to call it. Um, you know, he wasn't too disrespectful of Bal or anything throughout the the fight week. He went in there, did his job. Um, again, he said he was going to put on a better performance than, you know, Carlos Pace or uh Michael Morales did the week before. He obviously didn't get a finish against Bal Muhammad, but he obviously beat the highest ranked fighter out of all those and a former champion. So, he is definitely staking his name in there for a title shot moment. I thought his promo after the fight was really really good h against Islam. And then also if if one champion wasn't enough, he had to go and spark off uh against the second one against Hamzach. And he had a little back and forth there as well. So Ian Garry making friends left, right, and center uh with the UFC champions. But does he personally I think he's the he's the biggest name out of Morales, Pace, and himself. They're the three people who are in line for the title shot. I know. >> I Yeah, I feel like Sha's not really in the picture at the moment because I I feel like it's been so long since he fought. Like Ian Garry has gone and beat Bal Muhammad. He's gone and beat Carlos Pachez and did he have another win in between there somewhere since uh >> No, he lost to Shavat. >> Okay. So like he's gone and won two fights since then. So like I'm not and I love Shavat Rakman but like at the end of the day is that some like is that the fight on Clamor Sey? I think Shavat to get the best Shavat I think we need to see Shavat fight someone else first as well. So if I'm doing a bit of a matchmaking uh experiment I would probably do Shav versus Morales because they're both undefeated fighters. Uh, I put that as the co-main event and I do Islam versus Ingarry uh for the belt next. I think I think they're massive fights in the welterweight division that people would love to see. You see, looking at last week's fights, the way Prate has got that win and Morales got that win as well, like the Book of Finishes, Borro finishes against um like obviously Leon Edwards is a big name and so Sean Brady was getting a bigger name. Yeah. >> And then uh Ian came in and like you would have thought he would have to finish Bal >> to really put his name out there to become the undeniable next opponent. And then the way he conducted himself fight week, the way he was speaking to the media, he was like he's very good. He'd be like a great politician cuz he was very good at getting his point across. He wasn't lying but he was like giving you all the great points. >> Yeah. He's very well rehearsed is what I >> very well rehearsed. Um, the thing is he's also the way now I presume it was it was Leila who was recording behind the scenes but like the way he made sure that if he didn't put himself over the over the top already by getting the win but then it was like right get a recording of me going up to Chimayv cuz everyone knows that is going to go crazy banana boil like full stop. >> Especially when you got the reaction out of him. >> Oh like if you didn't get the push that clip does nothing. >> Exactly. And and the thing is right leaving that event now who who's the most talked about person from that event? >> Oh it's Ian Gary he's doing a very very good job of marking himself and like he lent into the booze for the first time in a very long time I've seen you know what I mean >> like like and I think you should just accept that he's not going to be the most like guy and that's fine but like lean into the fact that you're not the most liked guy at the day you're going to make fat checks of being being hated. You know what I mean? Floyd Mayweather was the most successful, you know, financially out of any boxer of all time in terms of paydays. And people hated him. People wanted to see him lose. Every time people bought a pay-per-view, it was see Floyd Mayweather lose. And at the end of the day, that's what made him so big. That's what made him so rich. And I think Ian Garry, for whatever reason people want to say, he's not that wellliked. I think that's that's quite a fair estimation. And like a lot of people don't like him and that's totally fine. I don't think he really cares one way or the other. I wouldn't care either. Like he, you know, you don't know these people. Like these people just have an opinion of you from what you present them. And at the end of the day, he's gone out there and he just beat a former UFC champion who just recently lost the belt 30 27 across the judge scorecards. I think there was actually 129 28 but I thought he won all three rounds and he did so quite impressively and then made a great case for himself to get to shot. I think one massive factor is Morales and Patches they don't have perfect English so easier for Gary to get across to the fans. >> Yeah and look it's like this the way the sport works is there's obviously no UC this weekend Ian's going to be the most royal person to talk about. Um, >> but like sometimes he makes his points and I'm like I think it's quite funny cuz he's like welterweight division is the best division. Look at all these young upandcomers and look at the champions that are yada yada yada. And I sort of go yeah but if welterweight is the best division then why did the lightweight champ go up and just like handily beat the welterweight champ if it's the best division. Maybe lightweight's the best division. You know what I mean? Just but like the way he says it, he says everything with such certainty, with such conviction that like, you know, I mean, it's very hard uh, you know, for the interviewers who are asking the questions to really go against what he was saying. >> Yeah. But it's it's I'm not going to compare it to Andrew Tate, right? But the thing is like he's already on to his next point that you you can't be like, "What did you say 10 points ago?" It's just registered, man. >> Yeah. Exactly. And the thing is the the the thing is there as well like you never like Ian almost has a million followers on Instagram. I'm sure it's going to go over the top now shortly but um you never you never really see like let's go in on Instagram or anything. You know what I mean? Like nobody really shouts from the the top of the hill being like let's go in. He's fighting tonight, you know? >> Yeah. I was going to say in terms of like Irish MMA, he's gone over a million. He went over a million there. >> Yeah. in terms of Irish MMA, it's there's very few people who talk about his fights when they're up and coming. Now, look, that could all change if you if you if he gets a belt, you know, but uh it's it's interesting to see. >> Yeah. Well, I made sure to tag every radio station that I could on the Ian Gary weigh-in and um like I didn't see it being talked about in any other radio station or anything afterwards. So, like look, he's fighting for a world title next. Um he's saying it's going to be Ireland versus Dagistan 2. I know. I know PFL went down that route with Paul Hughes, but like this like where could they have that? In Vegas, Ian against Islam. >> Yeah, probably. >> Yeah. And like the thing is Islam is such a massive team that could be >> probably could be in Dubai as well, which is like >> could be in Dubai. Yeah, you're right. Like it's just that Islam team is so big and then Ian's team is so small. It's just going to be really weird because they're not going to let Ian go near Islam, you know? >> Yeah. Um Um, Ross, then we also, uh, Shamrock was also defeated on the card. Um, that was Shem's debut fight with the UFC organization. There was a lot of hype going into this with Shem, with Luke Riley. Um, being part of next gener next gen MMA Liverpool's team like Patty was there as we said. Ross, what you think of Shem's performance? >> Yeah, look, I don't think it was the best performance out of Shem. I think he he he knows that himself. He had like some nice moments within the fight, but his opponent Ali Evv was undefeated going into I think Alv from watching the fight, I think he'll go quite far in the lightweight division. So I don't think it's a fight that like it might not look great now that he lost, but I think in five or six fights time when you know she's won a few under his belt and Ali still winning as well that they'll be like all right, they were actually two two top prospects going toe- to- toe early on their career. It does happen from time to time. So, uh, we'll we'll see what happens. Um, like I suppose like Max Holloway lost early in his career to Dustin Porier. Um, and Conor McGregor and you know, maybe people could have wrote him off. So, I wouldn't go riding off Shamrock anytime too soon. Um, I think he'll make some adjustments and he probably had a bit of jitters in there with the UFC, you know, make make the debut. That's probably something he's dreamt of for years and he got to live out that dream. And it was also great to see his teammate Luke Royley show show what he's made of in there. Um jeez that left hook is something something frightening. He's very Jordan O'Nealesque as he was the guest on our show today that uh he is always an absolute bar and burn of a scrap. H always very interesting watch Luke Ry big fight and uh he the first round uh I'm pretty sure he'll say himself wasn't great. It wasn't what we're looking for, but when we see Luke Riley in there, we're looking for something to throw hands and he threw hands. Uh, unbelievable scrap. I think I think give Luke Riley four or five fights and I say people would be clamoring to see Luke Riley versus Max Holloway. Max Holloway point to the ground and the two of them swing like maniacs. Yeah, Luke Riley also got a 50 grand bonus for that victory as well. Um, his opponent bogged down right after put out this video like thanking everyone who supported him and all that and it was such like a such like a nice video. he put out after I was like, I kind of have to like that guy. >> Yeah. Well, look, some some people you can like them, but uh at the end of the day, not everyone can be a winner, Bazo. That's not the sport we follow. >> I know. I know. But it's like that's why people like they tune in, they watch us, they see us at events and stuff, but like when you see the fighters winning and the highs they're on, the the fighters that lose and the lows they're on, it's actually like such a such a crazy sport that people don't see behind the scenes, you know? >> Yeah. >> Um Yeah. So I mean look I think the biggest winner of the weekend has has to be in how viral he went. Uh obviously Shm sorry obviously Shm will be back and then Luke Riley getting the knock out that 50k bonus to say that felt beautiful waking up this morning. >> Yeah absolutely. >> Yeah. Um Ross then before we wrap things up over the weekend Dennis Frimong went madly for the the or9 the Ronaldo haircut when he was fighting in Octagon. He was unfortunately um he unfortunately lost but like what Dennis is doing for that promotion and what the promotion are getting out of Dennis is um involved every >> Yeah, really really is. Uh shout out to Dennis Fong and he also took the loss like a champ. You know what I mean? He went straight onto his social media >> said look you know I suppose he didn't use this analogy but you're either the hammer or the nail and the last couple of times he's been the hammer and this time he was the nail unfortunately. Look, that that's it. Exactly, man. So, shout out to Dennis. We can't wait to see him back cuz like he's like some of these fighters like you know what I love about having some of these fighters on. And some are boring >> like me. I'm the boring one. You're the funny one. Um, Ross, uh, we also want to give a shout out to some quick Irish MMA shows that happened over the weekend. Um, Jordan O'Neal's teammate Macdonald was the winner in the main event at Wrath Combat. Yeah. And then, um, he defeated Aaron Broen. H, he's now moved to 3 and 0. He's someone that's definitely going to be looking to get on in the PFL or Cage Warriors in the future. Um, also there were three title fights. Uh Tom Buckley from Samson's martial arts was successful. Uh Ricky Arujo from team Torres was also successful and also CMax Henry Lea defeated Nathan Chambers which is a very impressive victory and he also won the title as as well. Um also we want to give a shout out to Valor Combat Series that happened on Saturday and also Slice and Scrap 3 that went down on Sunday. It was like just such an action-packed weekend. Myself and Ross were working overtime. Um, so coming this week before we wrap things up, Warriors Gym's very own Tom Ko is fighting on one fighting championship on Friday. That's in Muay Thai. We're going to make sure to keep you up to date on that as well because this is one of Keen Cow's proteges. And if anytime an Irish fighter is fighting one fighting championships, that's something you definitely have to tune in and see. And then as I mentioned earlier, there is no UFC this weekend, but two own two Irish athletes are competing at FC or uh it's F club Rush. It's a it's a um Swedish MMA organization as SPG Ireland's Ryan Kio is returning to the cage and also GB Top Teams Shenadney Newin is returning to the cage as well. Ross, anything else you would like to say? Whether it be involving Dana White against Francis and Ganu or MMA Guru not doing recording anymore with Demetrius Johnson.
