Ross and Bas (The Energized Show) preview a packed June 2026 for Irish and UK MMA. The main Cage Warriors talking points are George Staines versus Connor McCarthy at Cage Warriors 210 on 20 June — booked after both men's original opponents fell through, per Ian Dean — and Alexander O'Sullivan versus Alexander Lööf at Cage Warriors Unplugged 206 on 19 June, a pro rematch after O'Sullivan armbarred Lööf in round two as amateurs. They break down CW 206 as a Manchester card with Irish names (Binder–Ucar main event at the time of recording, Jair Harris–Kyle Alakase, Trevor Makengo–Mario Orourke for the light heavyweight title, Adam Darby added) and CW 208 on 27 June with Damien McKenna, Alex Keogh, and Stephen Costello's return. They also flag the Cage Warriors Academy amateur show on 21 June in Manchester and name dozens of Irish amateurs they want matched. Polaris 37 on 6 June at the National Basketball Arena gets a long preview: prelims on YouTube, high-level Irish jiu-jitsu matchups (Carmody–Levi, Donnelly brothers, John Luke Maltese–Marcin Malkovich, and others), and debate over Polaris invitations versus contracted champions. Shorter updates cover Amy Scully's FCC title defence on 6 June, Brian Manning on Octagon, John Mitchell in Kazakhstan, Belal Muhammad versus Gabriel Bonfim at the UFC Apex, and Song Yadong submitting Deiveson Figueiredo.

[music] >> The MMA Joe Show up the orders. >> Here we go. >> [screaming] >> Okay, what's going on guys and welcome to a brand new episode of MMA Joe's brought to you by Our King's Competitions. Ross >> Are you intoxicated or something? >> How are you doing, man? It's been a while. It's been a while. >> Man, it's been ages. It's been almost been like 3 months since our last podcast, but uh welcome back to anyone who did stick around all that time. But Bas, you're looking very tanned for anyone who's watching on YouTube. And if you are over there, make sure to like, share, and subscribe. How's Mark Beauman? >> Very hot. >> I'm actually doxing you here, man. I'm doxing you. >> I know, man. I was I was letting on I was in Dublin. >> Yeah, but look, even we even when we go on our holidays, the the podcast recording equipment comes with us and we make sure people don't you know miss out on a show, Bas. >> No, it has to be done. Last time I was here, I brought the ring light and it broke. So like this time, no ring light. It's actually natural sun, man. >> We do this every week. We do this every week like the Look, the people support us and follow us for ages, so like at least we can do is >> bring them a show every week. Cuz who knows in the future we probably won't be able to do them. But right now we can. >> Yeah, we're we're providing that entertainment, so here we are. Here we are. And we are here to talk all thing Cage Warriors and Polaris this week, Bas. Two massive shows coming up. Well, Cage Warriors is for for a hot minute, but a lot of announcements coming in, Bas. I think the big one was McCarthy versus Staines. Ian Dean came out and said both people's opponents fell through, so now we're left with George Staines versus Connor McCarthy. I think this debunks a lot of Cage Warriors theories as as of late that Graham Boylan's managed fighters, George Staines in this case, get easy opponents and also that Cage Warriors have been keeping top prospects away from each other. These are two of the best prospects in the lightweight division. Is the winner of this getting a title shot, Aslan? >> I think it's definitely something that could happen depending on how the person gets the finish. Like as you mentioned there, I think last year you can't really deny that a lot of Cage Warriors main events on fights like you'd see a lot of names on the cards but they never seem to be really fighting each other. I think like but also you could argue that on the Dublin shows like there were there was all Irish fights as well. So it's it's not 100% true but now you're seeing like bigger like bigger fights like for instance I know Burnell was meant to fight Shauna Clancy Jr. and but like well who who lacerated there themselves? >> injured. >> Burnell got injured, yeah. So but like bigger fights have been getting announced more and like this one with two two prospects. I know Andy Stevenson said this is very reminiscent of like a Vu Cain versus Paul Hughes but like this is a big one. Like Connor has gotten loads of hype around. Um he last time he got a finish. And like Staines has been doing great stuff even ever since he was on Octagon Challenge. So um this is a big one. SBG Naas against um Next Gen Liverpool. >> Yeah, 100% Aslan. Look, Connor McCarthy is 6-0 as a pro. He's 4-0 under the Cage Warriors banner. This is an absolute massive opportunity for him to fight someone like George Staines. We've seen it from the amateur scene that Connor McCarthy's boxing is phenomenal. His wrestling is really really good. I think he just has that natural flow about him and then on the other side of the octagon we have George Staines 9-0, fought in an octagon, has come to Cage Warriors, is 3-0 in Cage Warriors. I think the winner of this firmly has their sights on Amir Albazi for that lightweight title next. I think this is an absolute sensational match up. I can't wait for it. I think this one could easily be a main event of of any card for that Cage Warriors has. And these two guys, someone's 0 has got to go. 17-0 or 60 15-0 combined record between the two of them. This is absolute gangbusters stuff. This is the stuff that we all ask Cage Warriors to make. This is the stuff that we love to see. And this is going to be an absolutely monumental occasion. And it could be one of those where were you moments. Where were you when George Staines fought Conor McCarthy in the lightweight division and absolutely secured the number one contender spot in that division. >> Yeah, but both of them are still very young as well. Like this that fight goes down on the 20th of June at Cage Warriors 207. Like that's that's something very exciting to look forward to. Like there is big fights being announced as well. More Irish people have been announced on other car- other cards as well. But uh that came out over the weekend and that was just like oh that's a big fight. >> Yeah, absolutely. And look I I suppose looking at George Staines' record like he he obviously has wins over Arman Herczeg and Dennis Frimpong. He actually win over Roland Deegan in the amateurs. You know, Conor McCarthy's going to have to get a win over over Staines for for for the Irish. That's a that's a most needed win for for us Irish over over George Staines. So that's it happening. It's it's an unbelievable fight a fight for uh all all of mixed martial arts across the UK and Ireland. But it's not the only one that is announced, Bas Man. There's another banger that I'm absolutely obsessed with. And this one goes down at Cage Warriors Unplugged 206. Unbelievable featherweight clash between Alexander O'Sullivan and Alexander Lööf, Bas Man. This one could be a fight of the year contender. Alex O'Sullivan, again another person trying to put himself in that number one contender spot to fight the likes of Nick Bagnal next. Alexander Lööf is an absolute Cage Warriors veteran. These two have fought before. Adam and Solomon. Oh, I'm really looking forward to this one. Alexander does not know how to be in a boring fight. And Adam Solomon has been an absolute finishing machine since he's made the move to pro. And I'm actually buzzing for this one, but it doesn't really get much better than this. >> No, when the news came out, Ross, you were the person actually breaking the news after it being on the website and then creating that unbelievable bit of artwork. But this fight goes down on the 19th 19th of June. So this is the day before the Conor McCarthy fight night. But um yeah, we're obviously going to start off with Alex O'Sullivan. Like him against Loof again. Big big fight. Like as he's mentioned, Loof was in like one of the fight of the year contenders against Luke Riley. Like >> Yeah. >> Like like Loof is a perennial title contender and like Alex is really pushing himself into that now. The thing is with Alex like he he'd be he's one of the only few fighters who's also like a head coach of a team as well. And like everyone knows C Mac is doing great things. I know Ross currently put a post out there the other day. I think he said like C Mac like 17 and 0 in this photo with Jordan Keith and Alex with Ross in the photo as well. So um it's going to be interesting to see what the camp is like just fully focused on Alex. I know Trev I know Trevor is now obviously actually has to be announced to be on the card against Matty but uh this is a big big one. Like winner of this could get a title shot as well. >> Yeah, well look at it. I think when you look at Cage Warriors historically, Ian Garry won the belt 6-0. He won at 7-0 in Cage Warriors. Conor McCarthy, he's 6-0. If he wins this fight, he could be 7-0, 8-0 going for the belt. Solomon Solomon, I think he He 6-0, won the belt that's at 7-0. Alex Sullivan, he's 5-0. A win here, he could be fighting for the belt at 6-0. Uh and then like another person who's in title contention at the moment, I think 11 and [clears throat] two is the record, Andreas Binder. Andreas Binder is fighting in the main event. He's fighting against Ucar, uh a seasoned veteran. And a win here for Andreas Binder, he's looking to leapfrog all the welterweights and get his shot at Chung Hwan Lee Jr. or Justin Burlington, whichever whichever way that fight plays out uh next time. You know, as I say, Jesus does love knockouts. And Andreas Binder is coming to uh make sure that he gets a knockout and leapfrogs all these guys. He's an absolute phenomenal uh knockout artist. And I can't wait to see that one as well. And look, Cage Warriors 206 Unplugged is an absolute phenomenal phenomenal fight card from top to finish so far. And there's only one fight added. >> Is Binder definitely the that's definitely the main event, yeah? >> Uh well, it's the main event at at the moment anyway. >> Yeah, yeah, okay, yeah. >> And until we see otherwise. We also have Jair Harris on the card against Kyle Alakase. Jair Harris never knows how to be in a boring fight. Always looking for the finish, whether it's on the feet or on the ground. Really excited to see that one. Jair Harris is looking to always make moves in that flyweight division. And then as you touched on earlier, the light heavyweight belt between Trevor McAngael and Mario Orourke. This one has fireworks written all over it. This one could easily be the fight of the night. This one These two men are known for standing and trading. And we saw it in Trevor's last time out in Dublin. Didn't get He didn't get his hand raised, but my god, it was a fight of the night. My god, it was a war. And Mario Orourke, we've seen him in war after war. And I can't wait to see those two get in there, trade blows, and see who ends up with their hand raised. >> Yeah, um also it would Adam Darby has announced he's going to be fighting on the card as well. It's a It's sort of like a a like an Irish card. But it's in Manchester. You know? >> Yeah, I know. I mean we're supposed to see more Irish names getting out of there as well cuz obviously people who listened to the show a couple of weeks ago or even last week were like, "When are more of these Irish lads going to get announced?" Like they're all ready to go. Like even Joe Harris is out doing 4K's every day. Yeah, more 4K's than me than me, man. Jeez. I I think we will see Adam Darby announced soon. Like Solomon King Solomon has to make a comeback soon. James Sheahan has to make a comeback soon. James Sheahan has to make a comeback soon. Uh obviously, you know, we might see Ross Kearney off the back of that win in Lee Fighting Championships uh fight in uh Cage Warriors soon. >> And Kian O'Kelly. >> S- Sending O'Kelly we'll probably have to see him back. >> There's actually so [laughter] many >> Matty McElligott. Paddy McCorry has to defend that title soon if he's not getting in the UFC. Um there there's a massive massive amount of Irish talent that we need to see get back out there. Max Lally as well after that trip to the PI. Let's see what that what what that's done for him. >> I'm really really looking forward to it. And a whole host of Irish fighters who've just made their debut in recent times that could easily get on this card as well. >> Yeah. I I think Max Lally's having difficulty getting matched, you know that? >> Yeah, I think so. I'm not surprised either. And Kian O'Kelly as well. Kian O'Kelly's going to have to end up on on one of these cards. I'm looking forward to it. And I wouldn't mind seeing someone like Kian O'Kelly get on one of the cards as well. Why not? Kian O'Kelly, Sarah Elliott Sheridan, Eimear Darcy. All these all these girls have to get on the card these cards as well. >> Yeah, I'm just trying to think of other people. There's obviously a few FAI lads looking to do b- bits as well. >> Yeah, well I like can't wait to see Damien McGuigan back in there. >> Uh yeah. >> Oliver Oliver is is exclusive to PFL now, but I wouldn't mind seeing him in there. Uh obviously Cormac McLaughlin's not with the PFL, so wouldn't mind seeing Cormac McLaughlin fight in Cage Warriors. Um It's probably not long now till we see see someone like Michael Shields turn turn pro as well. There's loads of really really good guys out there who I can't wait to see uh have his craft. Damien McKenna is obviously booked uh which is great to see. >> Yeah. >> He's fighting on the 208 card. So, that's going to be an another one and uh Mr. Taxi's outside, Alex Keogh, Mr. first round finish, is also fighting on that card. >> Yeah, that's on the 27th of June. >> And not only that, also the return Stephen Costello to the >> Yeah. >> Cage Warriors uh cage. That one's gone a bit under the radar for my liking. So, look, three Irish on that card. We love seeing the Irish get on the card, get matched, and get fight fights under the belt. I think Cage Warriors is really coming at the summer with a bang and it's going to deliver some really really good fights and looks like the next Cage Warriors Irish card is Cage Warriors Unplugged over in Manchester. So, I know they do do limited tickets to that. So, if you can get over, definitely do it. They you're in for a serious night of fights. >> So, there is some very exciting stuff happening in the month of June. And today is actually June 1st, Ross. >> Yeah, June 1st, baby. Summer is officially here. Even though I think it's supposed to kick off May, but I always think June sounds extra summery. >> Yeah. No, cuz No, cuz my birthday's in August and I'm like, that's definitely in the summer. >> Yeah, that that is true. That is true. And look, also Cage Warriors also has that cheeky Cage Warriors Academy card as well uh for amateurs. So, be interesting to see do any Irish end up on that and which Irish end up on that. So, I'm looking forward to seeing what Cage Warriors has in store for us. They've huge cheeky little plans there going on I can't wait for a buzz now. >> Yeah. When was the last time they actually did an academy? Cuz I know that Instagram page was dead for a long while. >> I think they do like Cage Warriors South Academy and that sort of one was like run separately as an amateur show, but I can't remember the last time they've done sort of like or if ever they've done like an official one that's like on the website with the fights announced, etc. etc. So, I can't wait for that and I'd love if they continued that and then did an amateur show in Dublin. >> Okay, I'm going to put you on the spot. Give me three names you'd like to see on that amateur card. >> Three names I'd like to see on that amateur card. Absolutely I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I and a team team Taras. I think he's always super super exciting. Uh I'd love to see Carl Heary fighting on that card. Feel like he's very very active at Mount. I think he's someone that we could definitely definitely watch out for. And you know what? I'm just going to keep it keep it reasonable. I thought Taylor the Cour looked really really impressive in that last fight. I thought he looked really good. So, why not get him on the card as well? >> [laughter] >> It's funny how if this is the week after Elite, we'd have three different names. >> Yeah, you'd be like, all right, Tom Tom Brophy, Daniel Lara, and Jordan White. >> [laughter] >> It's all about what It's all about what's my reason. But no, like obviously someone like Michael Shields hasn't turned pro as well. Like he he'd be a great shout. Uh I know he's Destiny. Ha ha have a crack at that. I think that'll be something to really look out for. Um I'm trying to think who else is like sort of really at the top of the top of the game right now. Oisin Daly is another one who I think is someone who people should be looking out for. I'd be all over that. Uh oh, Ben Martin. Uh he'd be a great shout. And Nathan Mulligan. Another great shout. Um Morgan Hoeyns. Definitely I I'd be all over that. There's definitely There's definitely a few of them. Uh Rowan Kelly, Tara Kelly's brother. >> [laughter] >> I'll be all over all these bad boys. >> [laughter] >> I want to see Johnny Duggan. >> [laughter] [gasps] >> Oh, Johnny Duggan definitely. Yeah, I think he's fighting for a title next at Elite, thank god. Um right. Now, because I One person that's hot you were going to say. By the way, that Cage Warriors Academy card is on the 21st of June in Manchester as well. A lot of events in Manchester. Um have to give a special shout out to Amy Scully who's fighting on FCC this Saturday as well defending her title. She is one person that I think should definitely be on one of them Cage Warriors cards. Now, they're Okay, FCC and Cage Warriors have been having back and forth online. So, like I don't >> Social beef. >> Social beef. It was good beef though with all the Bora stuff Yeah, I'm here for it. Yeah, so I don't know what the situation is with that. If you're the champion of one place, can you fight in the other? Who knows? I know it's only amateur, but she'd be a good one. Column Dennehy as well from MMA Cork will be someone that you'd like to watch cuz he does He does let He lets them bang, bro. And then I know another person Saki will be another Saki boss. >> Saki >> Yeah, he'd be a good one, man. >> [snorts] >> Um I don't know we're obviously missing loads of people, but like you named a lot. So, like but like we'll look, we'll find out. It's a very interesting times for Irish MMA. And we are here for it every single week. You know yourself, man. >> Absolutely. >> So that's the Cage Warriors news at the moment. There will be more fights announced and we'll be keeping you up to date on all of them. But uh Ross before we move on who is the one person you're most excited to see on Cage Warriors in June? >> Oh, I think it has to be that that Connor McCarthy versus George Saint Pierre. I think it's an absolute banger. But very closely followed by that Alex O'Sullivan and Alexander Lou fight. I think that's a massive one. Obviously, Alex O'Sullivan arm barred him in the second round the first time they fought in amateur. Now they meet again a couple of years later down the line on the pro scene. I think that's an absolute banger as well. They're the two fights that I'm looking forward to most, I think. They're the two absolute unbelievable fights in Dean. Take a bow. Tip of the hat. And he enjoys his classes on when he's making those weights. 100%. [laughter] He puts them on anytime he's a booking an Irish guy. But here's one person I have to say, right? Gearoid Harris, man. Like he like I know he's coming off that loss in Dublin. That was a big That was a big event. He took that He didn't take that well. He looks like he's training now more than ever. Obviously, I'm I'm on the outside looking, but like this one is serious. I think what's his record now? Six and four? >> I think so, yeah. >> Yeah, let me double check that. >> Yeah, that it feels like a must-win for him. >> He needs one. Like he's like Like he he has it all. Six and four at the moment. Like that is Like that I don't feel like that represents Gearoid Harris's caliber. >> Yeah. No, I agree with you. I agree with you. I don't think he thinks it represents his caliber, either. So, I think he'll be able to make that seven and four and start start racking up a few wins in that flyweight division. But again, too afraid for him, so let's see how he does against a a crafty Brazilian. I think uh Alan Alan Carlos 12 and six, I think. So, not a not exactly an easy opponent. >> Yeah. I did Like Gearoid's been on scene for ages. I feel like this could be the new Gearoid Harris, the new GTA selector. >> [snorts] >> So, Ross, that's that's how the cage war is buzzing at the moment. We'll be keeping you up to date on all the latest crack, as well. Um then, Ross, this weekend Polaris comes to Dublin on the 6th of June, and it's going to be held in the Tallaght Stadium. Ross, when was the last time Polaris was actually here? And what are you expecting from the Polaris event? >> Yeah, so I I actually can't remember the last time Polaris was here, and it it seemed it seems like they've brought an absolute star-studded who's who of Irish jiu-jitsu on this card. I absolutely cannot wait for The names on the prelims are absolutely frightening. They've got some of the best matchups going, and I think this is going to be an absolute game-changer in the jiu-jitsu calendar for for this event. And look, from start to finish, I think from top top top to bottom on the prelims. And then, obviously, they'll have the squads later on as on the main card, but, uh, I'm looking forward to the prelims more than anything, cuz you're going to see the top Irish jiu-jitsu prospects in those go toe-to-toe. Like, Stewart Carmody versus Danni Levi, you know, everyone knows the Carmody brothers in the jiu-jitsu scene. Uh, unbelievable from, uh, from them. Stewart Carmody, you know, some say he's the best out of them. Um, I probably tend to agree from what I've seen on paper so far. Uh, again, Danni Levi, a young black belt, uh, also trained out of Ireland. Nicholas Donnely versus >> Let's just jump in there for a second. Like, like, it's in the National Basketball Arena, I know I said stadium, but also, what the Carmodys are on the cage where his academy is well. I don't know how we forgot that. >> Yeah, Shawn Carmody, Shane Carmody, get them on there. >> Shay Carmody, clapping the feet, bro. >> The feet The feet clapper. But, uh, >> Will that happen at Polaris, man? >> Probably not. >> Probably not. >> Yeah, yeah, well, Stewart Carmody rubbing Shay's or Shay's material. >> Well, that That foot clapping gets passed around our house. >> [snorts] >> Yeah, sometimes they just show up and someone prevents S. Carmody and then you whoever shows up on the day. >> [laughter] >> Everyone in the house in the state is like, "That family are always clapping." >> Yeah. >> Uh, Nicholas Donnely versus Jack Donnely, we thought we were going to get to see this at ADCC, but, uh, there was one or two between them, so, uh, Nicholas Donnely versus Jack Donnely was an absolute epic match up there. They've never competed against each other, which is crazy considering how long both of them are going on the scene, two unbelievable young black belts going toe-to-toe. John Luke Maltise takes on Marcin Malkovich. Uh, obviously, John Luke, ADCC, uh, Irish champion multiple time. He actually has never beaten Marcin. He's 0-2 against him, so it's going to be very interesting to see can John Luke pull that back, but I think at the moment his jiu-jitsu is the best it has ever been, so I'm really looking forward to seeing that. Uh, Andrew McGahon, uh, obviously out of, uh, Team Torres is taking on Kieran Malone and this is a really interesting masters black belt collision. I can't wait for to see that one. It's going to be a really interesting match up. Ruin Mangan taking on Rory Ladden. That's going to be an absolute scrap as well. Unbelievable. And Artem Varennov versus Freddy Barker. Artem that they're big boys that's in the light heavyweight division so I'm really looking forward to seeing that. Well like that's not even that's not even all. Marcus Fielding who headlined Kaisen he's fighting he he's he's has a match on the prelims as well. Like this is all the prelims Bazzle the prelims. Big Mo is fighting Christian Osbek on this at light heavyweight. That's going to be huge. Jacqueline Almeida is fighting Silva Vic. Our good mate Kieran Davern is fighting Chain Price Ireland versus Wales in light heavyweight. Paul Redmond Redzer is taking on Daniel Negru at middleweight. That's an absolute scrap. Ken Lomani is a serious blue belt known really well for his wrestling. He's fighting MMA fighter Dylan Logan Nogi scrap that's going to be an absolute massive. George Santos is fighting Peter Doyle as well as Richie Bukazen versus Aaron Scully. That's an unbelievable one. Aaron Scully obviously fought not on this ADCC but the one before and had the massive crash out with the wrestler giving out that he wasn't engaging even though he was so they've never fought each other before. So unbelievable match ups Bazzle. Out of those tell me three the three people who you're really looking forward to seeing compete. >> Definitely not looking forward to seeing Redzer I'll tell you that. Jesus. Kieran Davern. Definitely looking forward to seeing him back. Um who else? John Lucas as well. I think his style getting to see it up close there last time at ADCC the way he's just so composed. >> Mhm. >> And you can see he's like literally taking three or four steps ahead. Like the way the way he got that win over Germaine, I was just like jeez, like he knew he was taking that arm like last week. >> Mhm. >> And then I'm a fan of George Santos as well. The only man to have a better mustache than me. >> He shaved off the moment. >> Yeah, I know cuz he saw what mine was like. >> [laughter] >> You know I was going for it like >> Fair, fair. I'm going to actually tell you which matches are on milestone forward. Obviously we saw George Santos versus Doyle and that was an unbelievable match up. Doyle got the win last time out, that was no gi, this time it's in the gi so it's going to be different. But uh I'm really looking forward to Richie versus Aaron Scully. I think that's an absolute phenomenal match up. I remember seeing Richie compete in the ADCC absolute and look Richie's Richie's a small guy and he was mixing in there with with the big dogs. So I think that's really really exciting. I really like uh I haven't seen Kaelan Mangan, but I've heard massive things about him on the Jitsu scene. Everyone's a big fan of him. He's going in there against Dylan Logan so it's going to be really interesting to see how that that one plays out. I'm definitely looking forward to that one an awful lot. And then just because you picked the John Luke fight, I'm going to I'm going to say the Stuart Carmody fight. I think Daniel Leavy we saw him compete in ADCC, he looked really really good. And Stuart Carmody is supposed to be the prodigy out of the Carmody bros. So let's see how he does it on the big stage in front of the hometown crowd. Well, I know he's from Cork but we'll we'll we'll call it the hometown crowd because it's in Ireland. And this is the biggest stage that Irish Jitsu has. So let's see it on the night. I'm really looking forward to >> This is actually this obviously before you cut the promo of the year. Um Like do it can people then get signed by Polaris and then they just compete in these shows or are you aware of what the sort of story is cuz I know ADCC you're not like contracted just perform at ADCC. >> Yeah, well you can get invited to compete on a in the squads which we've seen John Luke compete in the squads or we seen Muhammad compete in the squads and obviously like that's a massive win or you could be end up as part of the Polaris shows and try and become um Polaris champion. Uh like I'm not 100% on it either if you know what I mean, but from what I what I've seen like the Polaris shows are the biggest shows in the world and getting invited on Polaris and that's the biggest opportunities you can get. So I think it's absolutely phenomenal. I'm really really looking forward to and all it's all on YouTube as well like doesn't get much better than that like. >> Yeah, like if the card is actually stacked like Muhammad on the card as well. >> Yeah. Although I'm only saying that about Rezar cuz Rezar was meant to come on the show. It was all confirmed and then he just never showed up. But very Rezar man, calling him out here and now. >> Very Rezar. >> look, I made it on my on my holidays mate. >> [laughter] >> He's probably still He's probably still finishing that iron man. >> [snorts] >> Yeah, fair. Fair. >> Yeah, shout out Rezar. He's top man. >> We thought he was the best person to get on this week. We thought he was the best. We thought he was the best person to bring on this week cuz like obviously he's the commentator of Cage Warriors and he's competing in Polaris so >> And that's what's going down. >> Um Ross, do you want to cut a promo so that the people are going to feel very energized once it hits Instagram and TikTok? >> You know what? It's actually hard to do cuz I don't think we've ever had a show where I've been excited to see so many matchups and there's is in the jiu-jitsu space. So look, Polaris 37 goes down June 6th from the National Basketball Arena. Unbelievable. The prelims are live on YouTube. We have some unbelievable matchups. We have a a rematch George Santos versus Peter Thouel. Unbelievable. Richie versus Aaron Scully. That is an absolute banger. Kieran O'Malley versus Dylan Logan. Two absolute phenoms going toe-to-toe. Paul Redmond of the old guard taking on Daniel Negreanu of the new guard. I can't wait to see that one. Kieran Davern versus Shane Price. Ireland versus Wales. Who will leave with their hand raised? Jaclyn Almeida versus Selma Vik doing it for the women. Big Mo was back against Kristen Osback, one of the biggest challenges of his career. I cannot wait to see that. Marcus Fielding, fresh off winning the Kaizen main event, he is in action as well. I am really looking forward to that one. Andrew McGahon is giving the podcast a break and he's getting back on the mats to take on Kieran Broon, two veterans of the Irish jiu-jitsu scene. Roy Mangan, a tireless competitor, taking on Rory Madden who's not too long back from a lot of training over in America. I'm looking forward to that one. Artem Averianov versus Freddy Barker. Let's have a Let's all cheer for Artem cuz you're up Ireland. John Luke Maltese, fresh off winning ADCC Ireland, he's looking to get to avenge an opponent who has beaten him twice. Nicholas Donnelly versus Jack Dolan, absolute gangbuster right there. And Stuart Cooper versus Daniel Levey. Do not miss Polaris 37, June 6th, live from the National Basketball Arena. It is going to be an absolute epic occasion. >> And as always, man. >> Yeah, you better believe it. I honestly can't wait for it. The only thing I will say about Polaris is it would be great if they had the card on their website instead of just on Instagram. But look, we can't all be as good as the Android show. Look, it's going to be an absolute phenomenal evening [snorts] for jiu-jitsu. Well, I think it's one of the most star-studded jiu-jitsu cards the country has ever seen. I can't wait for it. You can't wait for it. It's going to be an absolute barn burner as well. >> Yeah. Look, ever since we started getting I know obviously you train in jiu-jitsu, but like ever since we started getting more and more involved with the ADCCs, it's just like you get to know the athletes more. I think it's when like people also tune into the show and then we're promoting fighters and then they're like, "Oh, who's this fighter? He's a bit of a poser." Like for instance, we had Brian Manning on last week who was obviously fighting this week. More and people were like, "Who Who's this, John? When's he fighting? I want to see this guy." >> Yeah, and if Brian was here, he would have been able to tell us exactly what happened happens with the Polaris Invitationals, you know what I mean? >> Yeah. Typical. >> Look Look Obviously his agent, coach Andy Ryan, like wasn't satisfied enough with how much we were going to pay him, so >> Yeah, fair. >> Then those Team Rhino guys, man, you know, they're not they're not they're not that sound, are they? >> Where Where Where's the loyalty to me, man? Where's the loyalty to me? >> Wait, the one time you've ever booked a guest, they did they didn't show up, man. >> Oh, typical. Typical. >> [laughter] >> But uh Yeah, uh that's the only thing other than that left this weekend, Belal Muhammad takes on Gabriel Bonfim in the ever-famous UFC Meta Apex. Uh Bas, what do you make of this one? And does the win for Bonfim put him in title contention? >> Uh I'm not too sure, man. I think like obviously Muhammad's coming off >> Not to be political aspect as well at the moment, isn't it? >> Yeah, no, Muhammad's coming off the last thing. Muhammad's coming off coming off the last thing, Gary. Bonfim, like he came from the Contender Series with a buying and I think he was like >> 19 and 0 or something now, I think. >> 19 and 1, yeah. Yeah, so like I mean, look, I think Muhammad's going to find a >> Morales is ahead of him and Garry's ahead of him. Like he's going to have to win this one and another one if he's going to get title shot. Yeah, I think I think Muhammad's going to go for the wrestling. I just I just not mad at watching Muhammad, bro. Like honestly, like Bonfim has like heavy hands. He likes to like like to like to punch the head off people, so he's good to watch. I just Muhammad I've just never really taken to him and I know even when he was champ See, the real is going viral again when Muhammad was being held back by security. They didn't know he was the world champion at the time. Crazy. >> Joe Rogan absolutely airing him. >> Yeah, crazy, isn't it? But that's the thing, like you could be the champion and no one cares. Like you you need people to know who you are. Yeah, remember the name and then people obviously the security didn't remember the name at all. >> Forget the name. >> Yeah, so I'm going to go like I want Bonfim to win, but I think Muhammad's going to win him potentially by decision. >> Yeah, fair. >> Yeah, um over the weekend also Song Yadong defeated Deiveson Figueiredo by submission. Then, Ross, this weekend I know we mentioned it a couple of times, but um we have to give a shout out to Amy Scully who's going to be competing at FCC defending her title. That's on June 6th. Um also Brian Manning and Mick Cork on like >> Probably is he It's hard to say the biggest character in Irish MMA because obviously Conor exists, but like one of the biggest characters in Irish MMA, definitely. You have to say top five. >> He's active character in Irish MMA. Yeah, like I I'd like I'd like to see You see, I thought Dennis Siver was that guy cuz he's some character, but like this is just different level. Like and that's not >> yeah, yeah, Dennis needs his own videographer. >> No, but you see This is the thing, this isn't even a dig at Dennis cuz like Dennis is great, but this is >> No, obviously. Yeah, but what >> Like even being mentioned in one of the biggest characters in Irish MMA is like >> No, you know, no, Dennis was the biggest villain in Octagon until Brian Manning's after showing up. >> Brian Manning, man. Honestly, like this weekend they know they have a star on their hands. Yeah. And as long as he keeps like like putting these people to sleep, like it's just going to keep going up and up and up. Brian Manning fighting in Octagon. We're going to keep you up to date as well. Like um I'm back on Friday, so so me and Ross will be covering the fight and the jiu-jitsu on Saturday. And then also Fight Academy Ireland's John Mitchell is fighting on Orda call GF. That's on the 6th as well. That's in Kazakhstan. So John was originally fighting on PFL. Then he was he became a free agent. And now he's fighting in Kazakhstan. I was looking at his content during the week. He was He's over in Kazakhstan. He's I think he was eating horse meat everything like he's really like getting into the culture which would be very interesting. It's mad the places you can go visit during fighting. For instance, like James Gallagher over in Japan and stuff and then watching their content and then obviously growing >> Dream BJJ is like going to Bahrain and stuff like that so it's well. >> Yeah. I think it's I think it's one of the I think it's one of the right. >> of the definitely one of the perks of fighting that you can go travel the world. >> Yeah. But that's that's what makes >> enjoyable to cover it as well. >> Jiu-Jitsu in Thailand. Like you know what I mean? You're going everywhere. It's global. So, we'll keep you up to date on all that crack this week. And then obviously next week Cage Warriors is back. I think John Mitchell is meant to be fighting again on the 19th. Um, Irish MMA event Valor will be going down. There'll be two Sorry, two Cage Warriors events and another Octagon show with Will Fleury, the champ champ, Dennis Frimpong, and Richie Smullen all competing on that. So, there'll be loads more content coming out next week. >> Yeah, you better believe it, Bas. So, thanks to everyone who has tuned in for this shorter than usual episode of The MMA Show. But look, Bas on his holidays, we're still giving you the content you're looking for. So, make sure to like, share, subscribe. And as always, stay energized. >> The Energized Show up the Irish.
