[Music] [Applause] okay what's going on guys welcome to a brand new episode of the face off russ introduce the guest today we have the ru or featherweight toilet fight it is the main event between yusuf and avenue lads how are you thanks doing having me on the show no problem no problem anything you know big fights need big shows and uh that's why you guys are here uh avenue you took this flight on short notice and what made you someone toys for this fight was the shiny belt or was it the chance to face yusuf it makes a ball i always wanted to fight yusuf he's always been written around my weight um we never clash pat's but we've both been fighting a good while um so it's about time kind of far and on top of that did you see that how you are but it's [ __ ] beautiful man it's a nice belt like i was like that'll look good around my waist so uh a good scrap you know and yusuf when uh rory pulled out on abner stepped in what did you think i believe i decided to be honest because i was so focused on their rory and he was a cell phone and a tricky kind of chill parent and i was trying to get a lot of a lot of rounds in with different cell parts and different dreams which was prepared specifically for him and that wasn't take on my end like instead of focusing on himself i know more again i was a bit more focused on him but as soon as i got this for he just put that table box for the so far away i just shorter smaller brawler of an orthodox boy around just ready to go and just started working on them skills again they were already there just had sharpening movement i'm fresh and when rory pulled out did you think you maybe you weren't going to get a chance to fight for the belt not a chance now not for a second oh [ __ ] i spoke there it was probably going to happen whatsoever because like he mentioned a while ago small little brawler always gets in close so he's really good when he keeps his range when he breaks when i break his range we see how the fight goes from there but um no he's a decent striker pretty good striker i respect that uh yusuf do you plan on keeping this on the fee or you know obviously uh training under paddy who is 100 you know me i'm always getting comfy always trying to give another pair if it goes to the ground i think all the advantage on the ground as well whether it's against the fence on the map always be called the advantage on the feet on the map and on the fence doesn't matter everywhere i definitely do keeping this one yeah we will see i absolutely love it lads i absolutely love it and lads obviously this is like a massive domestic for you abner what has limos said to you coming into this fight liam's been pretty confident about it because obviously before i take any fight always ring it's chilling with me and use of what the party say to you with with the change of opponent just said you want to take the flight which had caused that thankfully he i think he was the only one that actually wanted to take the fight when slaughter pulled out so fair folks then for taking the football killer and uh yusuf um avenue is known for ruling like ultra marathon long distance he's probably one of the fittest guys in ireland let alone the sport and is your gas tank going to be able to survive with his 100 he can't stay on the last point you guys shut up man i didn't get out no fight man second round to be honest with you fairfax and miffy dawson we'll see that's another thing as well the fans want to know like where do you actually want to go with your career in mixed martial arts like like is the goal the ufc is the goal bellator is the goal to do internet celebrity boxing who knows uh avenue what's your goal here in the world mixed martial arts one day i want to be the best in the world obviously i think that's every anyone that's serious about the sport or i want to go far with it i think their biggest goal is to obviously be the best in the world so hopefully within the next 10 years i can get to achieve that winning ufc title because that is right now that is the world's most major title unless some other organization takes over in the next 10 years which i highly doubt that's going to happen but my goal is to be the best in the world one day you know it's not really specifically get the ufc belt it's to be the best in the world if that means i have to get that belt then i will but um it's a marathon it ain't a sprint you know you would know about running then mate but uh well i'm sorry you said what about yourself where did you want to take your mixed marks career my goal is really great of all time that's that's the only goal if there's no one else i'm not going to set a fight now i'm trying to keep walking keep growing keep going until i am the greatest of all going without a question today i report featherweight belt come in your all-time achievements and martial arts so far far definitely the biggest achievement of the day 100 would be the first of many well it will be the biggest one of the day 100 percent a good way to cap off a good year lots of ups and downs it's been a bit of a hectic here but be a good way to cap it all off an avenue of many at this point it'd be only toilet for it can i have one of the country and in the uk what about yourself what would win the all your or featherweight total mean to yourself well it's going to be my first belt it's going to be my first title that i actually get to win so that's a big one for me and on top of that i've been i've been growing them really hard this year you know i've been pushing paces i've been traveling i've been working really hard training every single day so i need to win this belt you know it's a reward for everything i've been doing you know i've been literally every single day busting my ass off in the gym you know putting in the work but this this belt is going to show my hard work and dedication towards the sport and i believe you've you're obviously the more experienced fighter going into this fight you have no invoice in your record you've been in there with the likes of muhammad if he was taking the pro ranks by storm do you think that experience would be an advantage to yourself a very big advantage i i every time i fight i show up you know i show up to fight i come to scrap and i never i never back down of a fight if he wants a [ __ ] dog fight he's gonna get one he wants to grapple me he's gonna grapple he's on a strike we could strike man you know i show up every single time and that's due to my experience i've been in there a lot of that i've only known amateur fights in mma i have over 50 in kickboxing you know so i've i've caught i've come and put my work in i've put some time into the cage and into the ring so i have my experience built up and yusuf do you think his experience matters or do you think your talent supersedes his experience i think might have more skills my hard work just always just think i'm better than him everywhere whether it's on the feet on the ground in on the mat obviously compared to him everywhere that's that doesn't matter whether he has 50 kickboxing voice or whatever on a better stroke there's no question about that and then i think i'm better as well everywhere else so i don't think about so i think skill boys won't do better everywhere you're not a better fighter mate i'm going to prove that you've done that all right much better for it i just think one level's ahead nazi you're a level exactly we got to see also i'm like we'll get to see on sunday there's no point to chat and [ __ ] on this [ __ ] laptop man we sunday we go to war i'll [ __ ] show you that i'm levels ahead of you mate we'll see i i i think this could be the main event uh i'm excited for this fight more now than ever basma are you excited for this fight as i am obviously the second this was announced we were like right we have to get the boys on what you do in the background that's
