Go back. >> All right. Uh, everyone, uh, far as fighting championship, I have here Mr. Ucha Nada Nadaras Villi. >> You know, I was just saying it just right. Just fine. Um, >> congratulations. Oh, >> he's fine. I appreciate it. >> Uh, tell me about it. Going into it, I wanted to do a lot of things, but when I got in there, uh you uh I don't know if it's experience. It's only my second amateur fight, but the instinct takes over and you just go to what you should be in drilling. So, instead of I wanted to show, okay, it's my kicks, my striking, but just straight into the grappling when I seen the chance, I took him down and uh yeah, I finished him then after after the scramble. >> Absolutely. Rene Rene. >> Yeah. Um is that something you just saw instantly new to I've been drilling that for a while. I've been drilling a lot of moves, but whatever comes, it's just instinct in there, I feel like. And maybe eventually down the line, you start to think, but sure, we'll we'll see when we get there. >> Heck yeah. Um, so like did you have a game plan coming into this? >> Not really expect a sub right away. >> I didn't know anything about my opponent, so I just wanted to s him out, see what he's about, see what he has. So just, you know, see what he has in his arsenal, basically. But when I seen the takedown, I obviously went for it. And it's just instinct. Just instinct. Yeah. Whatever. I've I've been drilling and I see it. I talk it. That's all it is, I think. >> Heck yeah. So, uh you have his back. You got his arm or you got your arm locked around? >> And then, um what what um like what's going through your head right there? >> When I first grabbed it, uh I felt that this side wasn't working, so I just switched it. But when I had it tight, I knew I had it tight. So, I I thought I just pulled and only a matter of time. But, uh he was strong. He was a strong lad. He was an athletic lad going into it. I by the looks of him I thought he would be and he was but um yeah I just the scramble landed in my favor and that's how I ended up. >> Right on. Did Now did you have a plan kind of coming into this? Did you want to keep it on the ground or did you >> As I said I just wanted Yeah, I just wanted to showcase all my skills. Um striking. I've been working a lot on that. So I just wanted to showcase my kicks, my punches, but um the grappling's there as well. Um yeah, not really. I don't really have a plan. I just wanted to sus him out and see what he's about. And I think I did that and I just took the opportunity when it presented itself. >> Heck yeah. Um it's like what what does this uh kind of victory mean to you? >> Oh, it means a lot. I worked hard for it. Honestly, even on holidays, I've been doing a camp. I've been watching my diet for a while and it just Yeah, it's my life. It is my life. This is my passion. This is what I want to do. And it's only the beginning for me, I think. >> And I just wanted to pursue it fully. >> Did you do a wake up for this or >> I did a little small wake up. Yeah. But nothing drastic. But uh in future, yeah, when I turn pro, I think I'm going to do a big drastic one, but we'll worry about that when we get there. >> Thank you. Uh so like walk me through like what's what's like a week like in training camp? >> I just train two two times a day. Drilling, sparring, all the usual stuff. Strength and conditioning in the morning. And as I said, like I'm taking this very very seriously. So I'm almost I'm one of the most professional amateurs in the country, I think. And um yeah, I think today's results was a testament to that to my hard work that I put in this camp. >> So like uh you know, you're putting in these hours, putting in all these rounds and training and everything like what what keeps you kind of motivated to keep going forward. Like what? >> It's just discipline. Discipline. I know that I don't want to be lazy. I don't want to be just doing things that I don't know. I'm not passionate about. I know this is my passion. I know that we all have those moments where we're not feeling feeling to go to the gym and work out, but it's just discipline. And I know I have to be up at this time. I go and I do what I need to do. I just basically look at this as my work. It is. And I'm very passionate about it. And hopefully in the future I can do it for full-time and get paid for it. >> Yeah. So obviously you're looking to make this a career. Like what what's the next year look like for you? >> I hope to be a lot more active. It was hard for me to get my initial fight, but now two two fights under my belt. I think promotions are looking at me and they want me on their card. So hopefully get a few more fights and then uh I have my eyes on the IMAFS. Right on. >> But again, we cross that bridge. When we get to it, I'm just going to focus on my next next fight. >> Heck yeah. Um, >> so I was say, okay, so like one of the things I like to always talk about is like uh I like to spread the gospel about like jiu-jitsu and MMA and all that. Like what um >> what would you tell to someone who maybe they're interested but they're just nervous to go to a gym? Like what what do you tell them? >> Yeah. No, I'd recommend jiu-jitsu. Yeah, >> that's where I started as well. Um, jiu-jitsu is very very easy to get into. Even if you're not athletic, if you're if you're feeling a bit shy or whatever, everything was so respectful. It's just the culture around DJ. But, um, yeah, I I'd recommend getting into jiu-jitsu, getting a nice fundamentals under your belt, and then when you're comfortable and you, yeah, when you're comfortable with grappling and whatever competing, then make the switch if you want to make the switch, but obviously get in get into BJJ at first. And it's a good base to have as well. >> Right on. And then uh last question here like what do you >> you know you're training every day um you got a day job still you know life all that like what what is it that from training that you use >> like you know in your everyday life >> what is it from training that I use in my everyday life >> like is there certain aspect >> yeah it's just as I said discipline that you get from the confidence that comes from the discipline that you have it just translates to everyday life even just making food you're disciplined you're not getting takeaways you're cooking you know, you have to eat clean and it's just a positive, you're stacking your positive habits. >> It all compounds on top. >> Yeah. It all compounds on top and yeah, you're training, you're eating good, you're sleeping well, and it just all compounds and it's all >> discipline at the end of the day. Uh that's that's what I preach. Yeah. Discipline. >> Right on. All right, man. Look, I know it's late here and uh you got a long drive back home as do I. Look, I appreciate time and until next time. Okay. Let's go. [Music]
