Darra, how are you doing, my friend? I'm good. I'm good. Great to see you, bud. Great. Very, very good to you. Very, very good to see you. Uh Dara, uh you're heading off to Kansas City in the next couple of days. Uh you're going over to Witchita um fight fight fighting at lightweight. Uh you've got a new opponent in uh Chuck Willis. Um tell us how did it all come about? Yeah, so this is the this is the third opponent I've got now. Um originally I was meant to fight on the 4th of July in Saudi Arabia and that was against Jacob Kazuba. Kazuba pulled out when first of all they changed the they changed it from Saudi Arabia to Kansas against Kazuba. Then he was out. Uh not sure why Dylan Salvador stepped in you know completely different style again from a wrestler to like a Muay Thai kickboxer and then when Salvador pulled out Chucka stepped in. So third opponent and second destination. Yeah. Nobody wants that smoke there. Nobody wants that smoke. Well, they're also way different time zones as well. So, uh, very very interesting. But, uh, look, probably nothing new for you, uh, having opponents change. But, uh, was the Cassuba fight something that you looked at? Obviously, he he become a European champion. Is that something that you thought that would have been a nice scalp for you? Oh, for sure. Like, he's was he 14-0 as a pro? I think he's 19 overall. So, you know, that was a would have been a big head to take. So I was disappointed when he pulled out like but then you know as long as you get a fight I couldn't really care to be honest. So they'll come eventually like and tell us this obviously we haven't seen you out since um September 2024 so that's what about eight or nine months since we've lost we're going to last see you in the cage. Is that frustrating for you Dar is it is frustrating like but you know there's nothing I could really do last time. Um I injured my knee in that fight. I done me LCL. So that was me out for maybe 2 months. Um as soon as I was able to get back training, I went out to Thailand with my brother and uh 3 days into training then I done my C joint and that was that was the guts of four or five months out then like you know what I mean? So I feel like I'm only getting going again now. It was probably back training at the end of February. So yeah, you know what what was it like being out of train for that long there? Oh, [ __ ] I'm used to it at this stage. I'm always injured. Do you know what I mean? Just just part of it. Look. Was a bit extra bitter considering you just flown out to Thailand. You were going to do a bit of training over there. You know, bit of paradise out that way and then all of a sudden that sort of sweep from underneath you. I was [ __ ] [ __ ] Like I was about three grand down. I was out there for about 4 days training. Then had to wait around a week for uh that's the the earliest fight I could get or whatever. It was cheapest. But I sitting around then for a week just eating shite, feeling sorry for myself. But there's only so long you can do that. Yeah. But it's great to know you're back in action like very very soon there. Like how's it feeling now to know you have this day? You're heading off to the beautiful state of Kansas and uh you're ready to throw down on the PFL. Oh, brilliant. I can't wait. Like you know I get paid again. Haven't been paid in nine months. So, as long as I can get fighting, I'm happy. Like, um, it's when I'm at my best. Like, when I'm in training camp, training hard, got routine, um, my diet's goods, you know, that's when I'm at my happiest. So, and tell us this. Obviously, there's a lot of lightweights fighting on this card. Is this something that you're going to have your eyes on as well? All right, for sure. like, you know, there's been a few things said, but if it's going to be next year, it obviously depends on this fight and maybe one more beforehand if it's going to be next year or the year after, but you know, bit of extra time wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. Maybe next year, who knows? But for sure in the near future, like I'll I'll be in there. And then obviously with the PFL, they're putting on this card. This looks like it's going to be one of their their their bigger cards. sort of a in a series of runs for the world tournament. Do you feel like that you know that's a real positive sign for you that you're being put on one of their bigger cards of the year? Yeah, like I didn't really think about that to be honest, but I suppose it is when you put it like that. Um they also got in contact with me to step in as an alternate for one of the for one of the guys if he if they missed weight or whatever for the tournament. So I think that showed me that they've they've confidence in me and stuff, you know. So, and I suppose that could definitely make the uh weight worthwhile. Like if you if you end up in that tournament, you know, I mean, you'd definitely be a dark horse in there, you like despite the fact that you're undefeated, you probably be an underdog just based on experience. But I I think that that probably sounds like something you'd relish, would it? For sure. Like you know, as you said about the experience, we've got seven seven professional fights like so you would definitely be an underdog and be a massive challenge, but you know, that's what it's all about, isn't it? We're here to challenge ourselves to see how far we can push it and you know nothing will be expected of you know I'm not saying that I'd go and lose but [ __ ] it if you do you're there to risk it. So I'd go for it. And I suppose the the the reward would definitely worth the risk. They change from the Mer to the D the few quid fella Kelly. Yeah I'll take that any day. I'm not too keen on the move on Mer. So, who gave who gave you that nickname? Uh, Jordan Fury. I was actually saying this in the interview last day, so I came up, but uh, no, Jordan Fury. He put it on me. So, if you could pick a nickname, what would you pick? [ __ ] I don't know. It might be It might be time to change that one though. D like first of all for people tuning in make sure to check out Dar Kelly Kenny back in action on the 20th of June in the beautiful state of Kansas City. Um Dar like look you have a huge following a lot of people on to us. Why wasn't Dar Kelly at the PFL Belfast card? Like was that something you had your like your heart set on or like are you looking to be on more of these like world cards? No. Oh, I I'd love to fight in Belfast like that's, you know, through Clan Wars, I must have fought there 10 times. Um, yeah, you know, so it's one of the top of my list to get back there and fight in the SSE. [Music] Um, as I said that beforehand, I was pushing to get on the card. Um, the only thing that was put me off pushing more and and what I mentioned before, I'll not get into that, was the injury that I was coming off and I I wasn't back to 100%. So I was like, "Fuck it. We'll we'll not rush it too much." You know what I mean? But if they had to give me if things had have worked out with them, I I still would have went in even though the shoulder wasn't perfect. Yeah, that's the thing. But from knowing you for so long, man, like you you you like to like push it to the limit and like sometimes you have to be held back a bit. But uh look, when you're on a 16 point win streak, man, it's it's hard to keep you down. But um Dar, can I ask you as well about the event? What did you make the event? cuz obviously you you fought at Bellator Dublin's um this one seemed to be uh quite a special special one obviously Paul you headlined it and like that had big noise about it but did did that did that feel different especially in the PFL era did that that have a special feel vibe to it did for sure um do you know the last few Dublin shows it I don't know about you but to me it didn't really feel the same um as they were back you know maybe five six years ago whatever but uh the why you think Sorry. Why' you think that? I don't know. They're just they're not, you know, they were selling half the stadium, weren't they? Or half the arena, sorry. And uh don't know. It was just didn't feel the same. Didn't have I suppose when it's not packed or after it's not going to be the same. But uh Belfast now Belfast the atmosphere was incredible. Um probably all down to Paul Hughes really, but throughout the whole card too there was I'd say there was like seven or eight stoppages too. So that definitely played a part of it like you know. Yeah, but uh the atmosphere that when Paul was walking out and when he won was just I haven't seen much like that before like so yeah it was it was fairly special and it's rare someone gets walked in with like a musical guest as well you know what I mean especially on the May show. So uh I don't think I' I've ever seen Bellator do that. So or PFL so like that that was a pretty pretty iconic moment for them. So, look, it was great to see. And again, I I think my only my new criticism on that card is I would love to seen even more Irish fighters on on that card. Um, I feel like I feel like the Irish MMA fan base has such a cult following that I feel like regardless of what other like sort of high level MA fights you get, if there's not an Irish person standing in the blue corner, the red corner, the fans lose a lot of interest in it. And that's just that just seems to be the way it goes. And I feel like they could have done with one or two more Irish uh fighters fighting on the card. Do you get that vibe there as well or? Yeah, for sure. And I I would even like even if I put myself as a fan, I'd be the same. Like, you know, I don't really care as much if I don't know some guy from England and some French guy fighting like I don't give a [ __ ] You know what I mean? It's two Irish boys and even if the level's lower, I'll I'll be more inclined to go watch. Yeah. Exactly. Like I think there was massive eyes on home and Cory McLolin. I think that that that fight had a massive and I think we saw it also at Cage Warriors Dublin recently when you know bit of Irish on Irish violence every now and then I think Darth Tman fought Alex Sullivan Joe Doy fought you know what I mean like you know these fighters going toe to toe Kenny against Matthew Elliot Matthew Elliot as well like the Irish fighters who are going toe to toe like it gets a lot more eyeballs like and the and the sort of the fan base that you guys are looking to get as well you know what I mean So, it is something interesting that we will see. Who knows? Maybe in in 3 years time we'll see headlines Derrick Kelly versus Paul Hughes for for the lightweight belt. What what would you make of that Dar? Who knows? Who knows? Maybe down the line. Yeah, I I want to see Dar fight Kieran Clark and Nathan Kelly. [Laughter] You know, he has he has to fight Nathan Kelly only. There can only be one Kelly on top. small them both at the same time. Yeah. Oh yeah. Don't don't don't forget about Nate the Great as well. Brother as well, Ryan. Yeah. Don't forget Jordan Fury as well. Get him involved. Why not? But like look, first of all, Dar, like we actually can't wait to see you back in action. But like who you bringing over with you? And I'm sure there's been a lot of people around Dundy Gall knocking on the door for a few for a few tickets. Uh Jordan Mr. my boxing coach and Kian McCarten's coming out with me tomorrow and then Dave Roach is flying out on the Tuesday fight week. Nice. Nice. And um fair play Jordan more more he seems to be doing quite a bit of work with uh MMA fighters. Uh do you go to fighter fighter uh to I go to I go to Jordan twice a week. Um yeah. No, I can't [ __ ] I can't uh thank him enough for all he's done for me. like you know I think I went to him for the first time probably last April and the difference is just night and day like you know I was I was uncomfortable on my feet uh [ __ ] when I look back I was panic wrestling more than anything and he's just completely flipped the script on his head like you know I'm as comfortable on me feet now as I am on the ground so he's he's you know he's [ __ ] night and day changes to to my fighting style and tell us this obviously um you know people people have always h fond over your physique. People have always said Derek Hy people don't know how he ever made fa you know I mean you have absolute you know if MA ever failed you could go with the bodybuilding but uh obviously you've added this uh boxing to your um to your repertoire. Um could we could we see more knockouts from you because obviously you know people couldn't deal with your power in the grappling. Is there is a lot of power in these hands now? Well that's what he's telling me. Um, and I have to shut shut a few of my my friends up. They're calling me pillow hands a bit too often. 15 fights and zero knockouts. It's not it's not very good, is it? So, that's not the new nickname, is it? Darren, pillow hand. That could be the one, you know, pillow hands. But be right and happy about that all the same. So, I couldn't give him. But, uh, it probably doesn't help when, uh, when you, you know, one of your best May is Jordan Fury and like he's got absolute hands of stone. Yeah, he doesn't know what it's like to submit a man though, you know. I keep telling him it's just to break that man's will, you know, and the crowd just hates knockouts and they love submissions. Like, so he, you know, he'll get it one day. Like, yeah. No, he need he needs to practice cage wrestling. That's where that's where it's really at people getting out the people getting called out in this show. Jeez. Ruthless, lads. Ruthless. But no, I'm looking forward to seeing that as well because uh I I think uh you know m maybe if you were lining something up against you, you'd be like right he's got very very good grappling trying to keep the fight on the feet and h you know you sharpening th those stand up skills is going to really uh plug any holes that were in your game. So I'm looking forward to seeing that more than ever. Um what do you know about Chuck Willis as your opponent? Um, you haven't I haven't really got to see his his most recent fights. I can't find them. Um, but from what we've seen of him. He's, you know, he's got boxing skills and he's got wrestling skills. Um, does he put them together well? I don't know. I think he likes to he likes to box more than anything. Um, but I think he's a better wrestler than he is boxer. He's he's tough. He's, you know, he's he's what is he 15 and seven. He's got more than three times the experience I have. Uh I think he has 40 something MMA fights combined with amateur and then he's got 20 odd boxing fights as well, pro. So the guy's experience like you know what I mean? Yeah. Well, like look you know he he's he's called the Lion King as well. So uh you know you'll just have to show him who Mufasa is on the day. You know getting the Dizzy references in here at all. I can't help you out in that one. I can't I can't I don't know enough about it like well that that like that that's about the extent of my um my Disney lob as well but movies there. Yeah. Yeah. No, but look look I'm just delighted that he's uh stepping up the plate. I was going through his record and the only person I I've seen him fight who I knew is uh he had lost to Sadi Ysef in 2017. So I was like I was like oh maybe you'll find that but then again when when you are watching footage on someone what's the what's the furthest back you'd actually go because you know I mean watching footage of someone telling probably isn't relevant you know. Yeah like I seen a couple of them were like I don't know if I got one a couple of years ago and then I got a couple from three years ago probably four four or five years max like you know even five years there's probably no point in watching it. Yeah. And tell us this. Um, obviously when you are watching tape, do you like to watch it by yourself? You know, will you watch a Dave Roach? Will you watch it with your brother or how much tapes would you watch in a fight camp? Probably not enough. I should be watching more. Um, I've probably watched about 10 of his fights, do you know? But my coaches are watching. They're telling me, so, you know, I trust in them, too. Um, I probably could be studying more, but it's not something I do that much, to be honest. Yeah. very can you tell us a bit about how your brother's getting on as well? He's obviously a name on the on the on the scene that's coming up and people are keeping an eye on. Can you just let us know a bit more about him? Uh, so the same thing again. You know, Ryan's he's only 20 now. He's uh fighting at 75 kilo. So he's 5 and two. Um, and I said we were fighting him at lightweight, but I think that was killing him. He's fighting 75 now. The weight cut was just too much for him. And uh same story with me uh with the with the striking going to Jordan Mur. So we both started going to Jordan at the same time and Ryan never had a striking coach that was giving him one-on- ons and things like that. So we were both basically just you know you know yourselves with our style. We were both basically straight up grapplers like so the changes in him is ridiculous now since he went to Jordan again. So, I'm excited to see now he's almost a year and a half out of the cage, but you know, as long as he deals with that wee bit of pressure and of not having fought in that long, um, he's definitely looking the best he's been, so I think he'll think he'll get the job done. Shout out to Ryan. Um, Dar, you're obviously going out. You're going to be the only Irish person on this PFL card on the 20th of June. Um, is there anything you want to say to people that are going to be tuning in to watch you live and go continue your undefeated run and go 17 and0 17 win streak as well? 17 win streak. Um, I'll be going for that knockout. I'll be looking for it and get rid of pillow hands forever. Put it to bed. Um, but now that is that is what I want. I want I want to knock him out. Now, in fairness, I don't think he's ever been stopped this guy and he has taken some big shots and I've seen a few of the commentators saying the guy he's got a chin. So, we'll see. I want to test his chin now and show off some improved striking again since last September. What about this nickname, Darl? Right. Obviously, Derek Kelly DK D most famous DK. Donkey Kong. Donkey Kong. Derrick Kelly watching that one. Heard heard that my whole life too. And I've been trying to get rid of that one. Oh jeez. He hates all his nicknames. I was saying when I was about 10, people were calling me Donkey Kong. And I was trying anything I could to get rid of the nickname. So, I started calling myself Drift King, thinking that was better. You're fighting SPG where the where the uh where the emblem is a gorilla as well. Donkey Kong. True. It's kind of fitting, isn't it? Yeah. Yeah, I mean, but h you'll have to get rid of those pillow hands first. That's true. It's true. Dar, we want to thank you very much for your time. Um, he got an unbelievable arm of bar finish at Cage Warriors 189 in Rome. Um, it was it was actually just picture perfect. Um, the way he came up with that arm. He he wasn't letting go that arm for love or nor money. Um, that that was one of the tightest arm bars I think I've seen in a very long time. Baz, what about you? Yeah, it was as if he had Velcro on his arms and his chest. Um Ross, the thing is going into that fight, there wasn't actually much hype from the Cage Warriors social media on Gary. Like we were obviously in contact with the organization being like, "Have you got Gary Rooney stuff there?" But then once once he gets the win like that and the way it exploded after, I think they're like, "Look, I think we have a star here." Yeah, absolutely. Look, obviously this show was built to hype up the Italians and, you know, promote Italian MMA and I feel like uh the three Irish fighters stole the show and I feel like Gary Rooney set the tone. Uh obviously Gary Rooney has a massive following in Ireland. Um the Irish fan base, he's he's very well respected uh amongst martial artists in Ireland as well. Uh like look, we've seen him corner and John Bannon over in the UFC on numerous occasions. H Gary Rooney is an absolute stud. H obviously black belt under John Cavana as well in SVG Ireland. H went on there. He put on an absolute uh performance and a half and he he went and he's announced himself to the Cage Warriors flyweight division. Uh he he's moved to three and one now and he's a force to be reckoned with there. Definitely like I remember we saw him at the one of the cage a couple of the cage legacies but uh the Rooney chant was very very loud. Imagine that now the next cage wires in Dublin September. Yeah, I think he's an absolute model for a codle to be on the card. I think it it's absolutely incredible to see and uh yeah, Gyro is definitely a name to keep keep your eye out for. Exactly, man. And uh yeah, with that being said, we're we're going to also have a look at at Ryan Chel. Uh Ryan Shel, the team team KF man, I I felt like he really really needed this win and uh he got a spectacular rear naked choke win. um a a moment um you know they actually did um corner cam with Chris Fields and Chris Fields was almost gyating him in the corner saying he's not listening uh and then all of a sudden uh Ryan Ched comes up on uh Simon Delana is that how you say it? His back gets a body body lock triangle and that's like a famous uh Shelly move that body lock triangle. Uh he he got that in and he was stuck there for the rest of the round and he eventually h sunk in the rear naked choke and look Delana had no option to tap. Ryan Chelli is asserting himself back in the upper echelon this featherweight division. Basmo. Yeah. Well, the thing is Ryan was getting a huge push and then when Cage Warriors went to the tree arena, he was in that title contender fight against Tobiasella. Um I think like Ryan's after going back now reassessing everything and then getting a win like that against the hometown like hometown favorite who was definitely getting a push. Uh Ryan is back in in the mix and it'd be interesting to see what he does next. Yeah, absolutely. He'll definitely be he should definitely be on that Cage Warriors Dublin card as well. 100%. Uh I'd love to see it. Uh I know people were mad on the fight stylistically wise, but I don't know. I think him vers Matthew Elliot 2 could be could be an interesting fight. That would be interesting actually. Yeah, I'd definitely be here for it. I I definitely love to see how it would play out compared to the first one. But, uh, we'll see what the Ian Dean and the matchmakers at Cage Warriors decided to do with that. But, uh, the man who stole the show in Rome was Patty McCari from the start of the week till the till the post-fight celebrations to the Instagram post uh, you know, w with the caption of the phone call at Dana White. Uh Patty McCari really was his night. Um you know he made a statement not only in the cage but a political statement that seems to be heard around the world. Um Patty Mccari seems to be now one of the most followed um fighters from the island of Ireland on social media. Now this was absolutely crazy Ross. Um I actually don't think I've seen something this big like obviously taking out the Conor McGregor stuff. I don't think I've seen such a viral moment in MMA in Ireland since maybe Paul Hughes Nurmaga made of like I think this is this was this was enormous. I think I think before going into it like Patty was roughly what about like he was on the Ultimate Fighter and the amount of press he's after getting from this. I think he's like he's like six or sevenxed his following online. But he's 10 times that. Yeah, I know. that like it's hard to really do the math in it because like I wouldn't be looking at how many followers and I also don't think I don't think it's I don't think it's it's stopped. I think he to this day he's still getting hundreds of followers a day. Yeah, it's um it was a huge moment for him. It's not like I've never seen anything like it really. Like it's hard to compare the Paul Hughes team cuz Paul obviously lost but like and Potty won but like yeah I feel like Paul Hughes not only was it like a moral victory but like it was a controversial loss as in like a lot of people thought he won. I wouldn't even compare to that. It was it's more I I think you just make the natural comparison because they're um because they're teammates. I honestly don't think there's been a win like this. I don't think anyone's sort of not been fighting for a title or not, you know what I mean? Like probably the the closest thing to it is maybe McGregor beating Marcus Brimage over in Sweden's UFC debut. Like that's probably the closest thing to it. Well, the thing is I was trying to take out the McGregor thing because that goes viral all the time. Yeah, but but but I'm talking about McGregor, you know, first fight in the UFC and like that level of virality or that level of like, you know, people from all over the world paying attention to this Irish fighter, you know? Yeah. But was was Yeah, see thing is I don't think like Instagram and Twitter like I think Twitter was sort of just starting. I don't think Instagram was that massive dent, you know? I think this is this is a new movement that I haven't seen before. So it's just like who Okay, give me your top three biggest wins in Irish MMA over the last five years. Take away Conor McGregor obviously as in virality virality wise. Viralitywise probably use Ros McKe, let's say. Yeah. Okay. Um maybe in Gary over Neil Magny, but I feel like that was a lot to do with like what was said before and after in the press conferences. felt like that one uh had a lot. Um there's no there's no wrong answer here. Like I still think the the Paul Hughes losing to Magdov was huge. Yeah. But like I don't really want to pick where someone lost cuz that it's harder to compare. Yeah. Um also I feel like that was a lot to do with like the back and forth after after with uh Kabib and Paul in the cage. Um I I just don't think where a fighter's gone and won and then made like a political statement has ever been praised so much if that makes sense. And I mean in terms of like anywhere in the world where someone's basically had we say 10,000 followers, now it was 120,000 followers based on an impressive win with with the like political statement to go with it. You know what I mean? I feel like it was the perfect storm. Um, I feel like obviously Patty being from Belfast with uh the verality of kneecap at the moment as well probably uh, you know, doesn't hinder the the moment one bit, you know. So, look, Patty Mccuri obviously is is a very good talent. He's he's uh, you know, his next fight I think for him is either going to be on Cage Warriors uh, for the title or I feel like it's going to be on Dana Wise Contender Series. Um, which it is for me. I don't mind. But I think obviously for him he wants to do a contender series. He's already been on the Ultimate Fighter. He's already got a win on the Ultimate Fighter. So like, you know what I mean? He he's knocking on that door and I think someone like him on Dana White's Contender Series. I feel like Dana White would only but love him to be honest. Look, he he has options, man. That's that's what it's not like he wasn't trying to finish that fight. Like some of those elbows he was written down were like, you know what I mean? Like they all had bad intentions on them. I felt like he was playing with his food there. I think he was trying to I think he was making the statement before he actually went and made a statement, you know, that's the way it looked to me. Look, it was it it was a it was a perfect night in Rome. Maybe bar getting the finish, but it was a perfect night in Rome for Patty McCari, you know what I mean? And things things are heating up in that uh in that in that uh FI gym right now. Basmo. Yeah. Um you know, like the the I know you mentioned two fights there. Um, I think like Reese McKe obviously getting his first win at UFC. That was pretty big. And then I think Shauna Bannon getting her win as well. And then also Will Flurry becoming champ as well. Yeah, I'm trying to But like I still don't think this was just next level. Yeah. But I don't think any of them necessarily gain like 20,000 followers after any of those wins. You know what I mean? And like Paul got pictures like Ronaldo and all as well. I was just like I was just like what was that massive? It's crazy, man. It was crazy. Very interesting. like all eyes are on Patty McCari right now. Um looking to see what he does next. I saw he was like like sort of posting stuff and then deleting stuff like he was putting out a YouTube channel then took that away and then like uh then now he like he changed his bio to manager Graeme Boland. So I mean Graeme Bolan's phone must be blowing up like the content we've put out of Patty. The amount of stuff that's getting talked about in the comment section like um like everyone knows herself what's being said. It's uh I'd like to Patty Mccari has always been a very very interesting character. He's always been one of the top middleweight prospects in the country and now he's really making a statement for himself. And look, I I just hope uh the next move goes well for him because he deserved it. He's he's been putting in the draft a long time and he he's he's a really nice guy as well. Yeah. Well, he's he's asked for that. He's asked for the Contender Series next. I think if he wanted the belt next, he'd say it, but I mean, I'm sure Graeme would like love to give him that belt. And that'll be an amazing headliner to have a Cage Warriors Dublin. Like uh for the people tuning in now, obviously we had James Gallagher on last week and um there was an unfortunate in incident in in our background that we couldn't finish the show off. So that's why we're looking back at all the action from last week. Um Ross saying that. Uh yeah, just some of my family passed away, so it just didn't feel right to be doing podcasts uh in the meantime. So look, it is what it is. Um we're back here this week giving you giving you the recap of cage wires and uh we're going to take from one FAI man to another. Um FCC uh went down 42 went down uh over the weekend. Own Mass Oliver stole the show. Handed a ferocious headkick knockout in the first round. H defeated um Reese Park was undefeated coming into the fight. Uh, Omaz Oliver has solidified himself as the number one bantamweight in the UK and Ireland. Um, he is the man to beat. Um, how much longer we're going to see him on the amateur scene, I do not know. H I think the next time we're going to see him out is at the next Cage Conflict show, I think in October. And this man is an absolute phenom. Every time we see him, he's getting better and better. He's uh shutting his opponents down. And it was really cool to see back that like he was practicing that left high kick h in the back with uh Pat McAllister h time and time again and then he landed into the fight. Um it just goes to show that um all that hard work and dedication is paying off for Oliver. He is an absolute phenomenal talent and not only that he's getting shout outs from the top uh top dogs in the gym and they you know they know that he's putting in the work and the work is paying off. So as Oliver is definitely one to look out for Bazo any anything else you want to chime in there on that that performance be interesting to see if we do see M back in action before cage conflict that goes down on the 18th of October but like only fair play but like the D the way he was sort of with the media over there it felt like they were like are you ready to sort of lose the par and uh he was not having any of that so yeah exactly and I think uh it looks like he's going to be fighting Jared Ryan maybe at cage conflict that's that's the fight that Jared Ryan's looking for. H he's the um bantamweight champion and he's looking to go up and see if he can uh upset the apple card and uh fight Oliver next. So, look, I'm here for that fight. Yeah, but I'm sure I'm sure Adam from FCC will want him back on that card again. Oh, absolutely. Uh absolutely. And um as was touched on, I think he's the first ever amateur champion who's won belts in Ireland, England, Scotland, and Wales. So, uh Oliver, the real deal. Even even Richard Shaw in the comments uh giving him the shout out. Shaky. Yeah, Shaky's in the comments saying that guy's an unreal talent and going from one unreal talent on FCC 42 bringing home a belt to another one. Uh Amy Scully uh she is getting 1% better every single day. Um she is just someone who uh you know you can't help but get behind when they fight. Um she absolutely dominated her opponent. second round TKO. Um had a had almost like a single arm cam more in at one stage. Um had her opponent's arm behind her back as she pounded her out to get the TKO win. Amy Kelly uh looked absolutely phenomenal as or Scotty, sorry. Um uh and with that being said um we were actually uh touching base with um Jason from MMA on point and Bailey who's commentary for FCC 42 and they said they were blown away by both Irish talents. Yeah. Well Amy Scotty created history there winning the first ever FCC women's title like that like her winning that like I I think FCC thought that like the girl she fought Anna was going to win that as well. Like I don't think I think I think they like they they don't I don't I'm not the Irish over to lose. Yeah. I don't think I'm not gonna say they don't respect the Irish talent, but I I don't think they knew what they were getting their hands getting their hands on getting the likes of Mass Oliver and Scully like these two don't mess around. Like these two train as if they're pros. I think everything I said about Oliver about being the best bank might in the country. I think uh Amy Scully is the best straw weight in the UK and Ireland. Uh, I think she's she's the one to beat. She's the one to watch. And I think whenever her time is to turn pro, I think uh she's gonna be an absolute force to be reckoned with. Also, with that being said, as well, she uh is an IMAF world champion as well. She is just someone who is an elite talent on the amateur scene. And uh look, I'm sure there's not a million people signed up to fight her. I wouldn't be surprised if she has to move up the flyweight to get one or two people to actually accept to fight against her. Okay, here's the question. For both Mass Oliver and Amy Scully, what organization do you think they'll end up at? Well, I think Oliver will probably end up uh turning pro and probably fighting the Cage Warriors fairly in instantaneously. Uh I I also think like Oliver potentially might fight a flyway as a pro uh instead of Bant might uh be interesting to see what he does there. And Amy Skully look she's obviously very close with Gary Rooney. He was in their corner. Maybe she ends up with Cage Warriors as well. Uh where they end up you know in their final destination whether it be UFC or PFL. Hard to tell. Yeah. It's hard to know where the landscape is going, but uh I do think that they are two top talents and they will be two top rows. Yeah, exactly. Congratulations to Amy and Owen. It was it was great seeing what you did during the week. Carried yourself extremely well and like for the amateurs coming up like take a take a note of what what those two are doing cuz uh we said we said ages ago, Amy Scotty's creating some of the best content on social media by herself every day and uh she's definitely one to follow. Um Ross, we were talking before we get into what Irish athletes are competing this weekend. Over the weekend, the UFC was back. UFC 316 went down in the main event. Morab Dashidi submitted Shaom Ali in the third round. Ross, where first of all, what did you make of the fight? And second of all, what where does Morabashidi go from here? For me, I I think look, Morab had already won once. I feel like a very good grapper like him is going to get the read on Omali from the first fight and be able to put him away second time out and that's what happened. Um, in terms of where he goes next, I think it's probably going to be Cory Sanhagen next. Um, I feel like Cory Sanhagen is a more explosive striker than um Sha Ali. So I think that you know the first first round maybe second round h Cory Sanhagen might be able to give Morab some some problems. Um I also think you know Pota Yan is another opponent that could be there down the line. Uh we'll see. But I don't know. I feel like now that Tapori has moved up the lightweight. Could we see Morab maybe go up the featherweight and fight Vulcanoski? I think that would be very interesting fight. H it's just hard to go against Morab. that gas tank is so elite that and it's so strange to say that like cardio is the difference between these guys but like the relentless pace that he keeps people just cannot keep up with him. I think Morav has now solidified himself as the greatest of all time in the bantamweight division. I know you were you used to say it was uh Dominic Cruz, but then when you look at Morab's record right now, the way he's like I I just didn't think that Shauna had a chance unless he knocked him out. And Morab is just uh he's on a different level. Um as you said, that cardio is just unbelievable. He's like he's got the highest takedown record in the UFC ever. What fight intrigues me next? I'm not too sure because like I feel like he's like wiped out the division. Um like for as a as a fan I would have liked Shauna Mali to win just cuz he's more exciting but um when when you're that good you're uh you're just that good. Um that the point you did say potentially Vulcanoski against Morab that'd be very interesting. I think someone like Morab needs to go up and and challenge himself even more. So that that would be of interest to myself. Yeah absolutely. Where would you like to see uh Shaami go next man? cuz he was he was the one getting the push the whole time fight week. It was all Shauna Ali clips first. Barely even they barely even spoke about Morab. Um like they usually wanted Shauna Alley to win this fight. Well, look, he is the star of the bantamweight division. He's someone who sort of transcends the sport. Sean Ali, does he move up? Hard hard to really know. Maybe they do the trilogy with him and Marlon Vera. um just cuz that could sell well. Or maybe they do Shawn Omali versus Henry Cejudo. They've had back and forth before. Um I feel like both those both those could easily be, you know, a co-main event to a pay-per-view or headline a fight and I easily I think I I think they're more of a co-main for a pay-per-view to be honest. H and I wouldn't be I wouldn't mind seeing either those fights be five rounds as well. What about Shauna Ali moving up? I wouldn't be against it, but I also think, you know, obviously he struggles probably strengthwise against someone like Morab. I just feel like some of those bigger guys again. Um, but if he does move up, a featherweight rematch with Alderman Sterling could also be a good fight. Very, very interesting. Very interesting. Uh, then in the the main event, that's what I'm here for, Basma. That's what I'm here for. First time ever being interesting. Bar them lion king references. Uh Ross Kayla Harrison is the new uh UFC Bantamweight championed Juliana Pena. Kayla Harrison man. Um bulldozer. Absolutely bulldozer man. There was this wasn't even a competition. Um I I got this pick right for once to say you're very proud of me. Where does Kayla Harrison go from here, bud? Yeah, I think uh Kayla Harrison um well looks like she's going to fight Man Nunees and I think that's the only fight in the division. Like if if you really look at the women's bantamweight division like it's fairly bleak to say the least and like that's that's been nice about it. Obviously um like I don't think people will be fawning over seeing Kayla Harrison versus Raquel Pennington. I don't think people are like, "Oh, Kayla Harrison um to fight um Caitlyn Vieira either." I just don't see people looking to see that. Like Parson's already beaten uh Vieira by decision. She beaten Holly home. She's beaten Julian and Penny. Now, you know what? I mean Kate Harrison I don't see her I don't see you know a lot of people there being like let's see her fight anyone bar man Nunez like number four Norman Deant no thanks number five Macy Chisen no thanks number six uh Aren Aldana Alen Perez Myra Bueno Silva Jana Santos Carl Rosa I feel like some of these girls really like not being funny, but like Misha Tate is still in the bante rankings. Um like bantamweight needs some serious uh some serious um injection of contenders and I feel like you could probably shelf the bantamweight vision for maybe up to six months and maybe say Kayla Harrison versus um Amanda Nunees sort of November time maybe and let someone try and make some noise. Like all it would take is two wins and need to make a bit of noise and you're the next contender. Do you think Valentina can move up again to I think that would have been an option but I don't know. Kayla Harrison, she's a big girl. She's a big big girl. Like I don't think that move might look more appealing against Juliano Pena, but I don't think that move looks as appealing like Kayla Harrison on fight week weighed more than Morab and Tron Ali did. Um and Pachy Mix and Maro Bautista. So like at the end of the day like Kayla Harrison I don't know how many fights she has left at Bante and I don't think she can turn around fast either because the weight's so hard. Yeah, I saw she said she has to diet 12 weeks out and the only like cheat she had was like she cheated three times and it was like a a spoon of peanut butter. Jeez. Loyal to the game. That that's like look that's why you become an Olympic gold like medalist. Like like her dedication to the sport is uh I have a lot of respect for it. Yeah. Have a lot of respect for it as well. Um Rough, is there any other fights on the card that you want to talk about? Because obviously people are glory hunters that tune in to the show. They love the good, they hate the bad, they love the title fights. Yeah. Well, I think uh Patty Mix was a real let down. Um Megan, do you believe Do you believe there is like the UFC like you can get caught under the big the big lights, Bruce Buffer announces your name and people like they [ __ ] it? Um potentially like like I don't want to take anything away from Mario Batista like he thought like you be José Alo beat Paty Mix. I feel like he needs a big step up in competition next. Like I like it wouldn't be out of this world for him to get a title shot really with those two wins on his resume. Uh but at the end of the day, um you know, Patty Mix, he looked like his boxing skills weren't there really. So yeah, hard to know. Um I want to say a big shout out to uh Kevin Holland. Like that was a very impressive submission win over Vincente Luke. Also, I really admired uh postfight comments from Kevin Holland being like, "Just keep on letting me fight the old guys. H I don't want to fight any of these young guys." And then Joshua Van as well, a flyweight. He's definitely someone who could be gunning for Alexander Pantosia soon. He actually called out Brandon Moreno for UFCshake. So, uh that's definitely something to look out for. Um but yeah, there's sort of my thoughts on the card. Fantastic thoughts, Ross. Jeez, what would I do without you? I don't know. But let let's go back close to home. Basmo. We who who's the fighting Irish this weekend. Okay, so this week there's plenty of action for all you plenty of action. All you combat sports degenerates going degenerates going down on Thursday. Ross Thursday Ross. We have UAE Warriors. Fufu Farrez from SVG Cork is making his pro debut on the card and Omra Shabban lineal UAE Warriors welterweight champion you could say is fighting on the card as well. So there's two Irish fighters on the card. H there's also a PFL card going down that night as well. Then going on to Saturday night, the UC is back. Kamarman faces Wim Bley in the main event. Ross, who you backing for that? I think I like Bley now. You know that I think I want Bley to win as well. I'm going to go. Okay. Then we had James Gallagher on the show last week. It went down on a treat. He is fighting on Munir Laziz's 971 FC in Dubai. The second event they've ever had. This one's going on the Coca-Cola Arena. So, uh, make sure to check out that with James Gallagher back in action. And like when we had him on, his energy was just, uh, he was in zen mode. It was, uh, very impressive to see. I am looking forward to seeing James back. Ross yourself. Yeah, absolutely. I think uh James Gallagher is is one of the biggest talents that this country's ever produced. He's also uh one of the loudest characters and he's one of the mo mostly character. So uh I'm dying to see James back. He looks like he has a point to prove and uh he hasn't been given uh an easy out. Uh Sorz is I think 14 and three. So, uh, it's going to be a tough one for James, but h look, I expect him to get the back get get the back and get get the get the choke done. H, rear naked choke for James Ger. Let's go, baby. Test drive for that new stripe on the black belt. Uh, then also SVG Ireland's Shane Mullen makes his pro debut at T uh, Tower Cage Fighting as well. So, we'll be keeping you up to date in that as well. And then also, there was a massive Muay Thai event going on this Saturday. It's called the Takeover. There's a load of great fights on it, but in the main event, Dano Oul against Tom Ko is a fight definitely not to be missed. Brick Nasty was on to us. The Ireland's the Irish musician who will be supporting kneecap across America and Canada was on to us asking who do we think will win that? And obviously we said both lads are very talented. And then uh we let the people decide. So we put a poll out and the fan favorite at the moment is Tom Ko as well, Ross. And then to wrap things up on Sunday, Levels Fight League 18 goes down and SVG Charlestown's Genderson Castro competes on the card.
