Ross, >> are you intoxicated or something? >> How are you doing, man? >> Man, absolutely phenomenal. What a weekend the combat sports we went to. It was fantastic stuff. And not only that, you topped it off with a sunny trip to Spain. Basma, what's the weather like? >> Uh, it's better than Dublin, man, I have to say. >> Yeah, well, it wouldn't take much, would it? Any rain? No, >> no, no, no rain yet, man. No rain yet. >> There we have it. But Basma, what a weekend we had. Cage Warriors and ADCC both on Saturday the 21st of Feb. It was absolutely incredible. Both events were sensationally good. Um I think we should work our way backwards. Basma, what do you think? >> Yeah. So like I think the best way to cover this part of the show is we're going to go from the MMA part to the jiu-jitsu part and then all the other cool crack at the end including Dana White taking on Eddie and Ross. So it's a very energizing show, man. >> Absolutely very energizing show. Oh, I think we should probably start off on a high note. Uh maybe we'll start off with Patty McCari Basma. What do you think? >> Yeah. Well, like for people tuning in now, we have posted all the interviews with all the fighters on our YouTube and on our Instagram page. So, like if you want to see what they had to say post fight, like that's where you should definitely check it out. But Ross, yeah, Patty Mccuri is the new Cage Warriors middleweight world champion. And what a performance it was. [snorts] >> Yeah, it really was. I think we were watching it live in the arena and I turned the BS and was I said to him that's a champions walk out right there. I go the confidence is oozing out of Patty McCari. I feel like the people in the arena could could feel it and my god what a performance he he put on knockout in the first round like you know he couldn't have rolled it any better himself. It really really was a special moment. Sure. We were standing feet away from Maurice McKe and Paul Hughes and the elation on the on you know in their faces and you know the way they embraced each other when Patty won it just you could see how much it meant to the entire fight academy Ireland team and how much it meant to Patty McCari speaking to him afterwards you know he felt like he let himself down on tough he felt like he let himself down on Dana White's contender series and this was his crowning moment this was the moment he brought brought home the gold fight academy Ireland another cage warriors champion for them And look, you could say very much arguably or maybe not so much arguably that that was the cleanest of all the Fight Academy Ireland guys winning the belt. >> Yeah, it was. Do you know what from all the interviews you did post fight like a couple really stood out and I think like Patty's was definitely one that stood out. um like just listening back to his journey like having gone over on tough and D was contender series and like he needed to get a finish and an emphatic voral finish and like the way when he got that in the first round I I like I didn't you said it to me when he was walking out you're like that's a champions walk out and I was like well let's see the next walk out and like the land played the villain in that as well and um getting such a clean knockout and the whole arena just absolutely exploding like oh Patty Mccuri chance and stuff like that like everyone was backing him and he did it when the lights were the brightest and like the pressure was on cuz like obviously we'll talk about Nick Badley beating Solomon King Simon but like that was such a crap fight to watch just like pure wrestling like Dana White is not going to sign Nikita Bagley from that but Dana White is definitely going to take on Patty Mccuri from here after that finish I think. >> Yeah absolutely look they want finishes. Patty Mccari will give you finishes against people who've never got got finished before. Um, look, Beli is a tough customer, but Patty Mccari absolutely dispatched him and did it with what looked like ease on the night. Obviously, the preparation paid off. I also think that was physically the best of seeing Patty look going into a fight. I think his uh his physique really really stood to him and look, Patty McCari is a force to be reckoned with. And I think straight into the UFC for me, no contender series, nothing else. Straight in there. >> No tough. No tough, nothing. Let let's uh let's get him out there and let's get him out there April May uh and see what he's made of. Um he's already on the radar. That was an s sensational finish. And yeah, Patty Mccario, I'm here for >> Yeah. Well, like even listening to Sean Strickland talking this weekend, like the UFC needs more middleweights with big personalities and like Patty has the audience now cuz like everyone loves like a sort of underdog story. So like everyone is behind Patty having because he wasn't signed on to tough because he wasn't signed in the contender series now getting that win >> like he has the whole backing of Ireland >> right now like >> he he absolutely does that was that that was his night that was that was a special moment that was a special moment in Cage Warriors history. He he won his world title at Cage Warriors 200. He did it in sensational style and look he brought an army of people down from Belfast with him to watch that happen. So look, shout out to Penny Mccari. That was an unbelievable night and and I will always remember in Irish MMA history. >> Couldn't have went any better. >> Yeah. Like really good enough. Really good enough. >> Yeah. Cuz I think beating him in the whatever 2 minutes that it took showed that like he was also better as opposed to I think sometimes if you knock someone out with the first punch as much as like that's great for you, people can be like, "Oh, that was a fluke." You know what I mean? As opposed to No, he he was really really good. And uh as he says h more angles that'll protractor that fell. >> Yeah. So the thing is like cage warriors are talking about coming back to Ireland. Like there's rumors it could be Belfast, could be Dublin, but like if Patty gets signed, do you think Cage Warriors goes to Belfast or do you think they'll come back to Dublin? >> I don't know. I think I think they got sort of have to fall in love with that already. Yes. I think >> yeah, >> that that night felt special. The arena looks great. The the optics were great. The place where the fighters walked out looked really really cool. It was like a a WWE titron style of walk out. I really just liked it. I thought the whole thing was fantastic. Even the way they had the the TVs above above the screen like the way the UFC do. I thought it all looked sensational. >> Yeah. 10 out of 10. >> 10 out of 10 is right. >> 10. They could put a few waters in the back for the media though, couldn't they? >> Yeah. A few wishes for the lads. Wouldn't go miss, you know. But h no, it was it was it was sensational. Unfortunately, with the main event, obviously Nick Bagley got a unanimous decision win over Solomon Simon. Solomon Simon the last 30 seconds threw a flurry down and Nick Bagley trying to get the job done. H there was no buzzer beater on this occasion. But uh as Baz alluded to, um Nick Bagley, you know, he had one goal and one goal only and that was to take Solomon Simon down and hold him down. And look, he was successful at doing it, but at the end of the day, um >> I'd say some people that they that went to that event, it was their first ever MMA event, and like that's not really the the note fans would want to leave on. H obviously very successful game plan. Nothing against Nick Bagley. Seems like a lovely fella. H very effective fight style, just not one that would really get the crowd off their feet. Not one that would excite people. >> No. So like there is like plenty of Irish like look Saul's going to want to run that back as well. So we'll see what happens in the future and there's like plenty of featherweights as well coming up that like will want to take on Nick B as well. So look it was disappointing like uh it was Saul's big night. I felt like a win there he would have got at least a contender series shot. So um look these things happen like Saul's still young. I know he's very experienced in the game but uh Saul will definitely be back. >> Yeah he 100% no doubt about it. I like that. I think it it will definitely be big confidence booster that like he finished on top with that flurry that he like right if I if I could have done that four more times maybe I would have won the fight. >> Um so >> very Nate Diaz against uh >> Leon Edwards. >> Leon Edwards. [laughter] >> Yeah. So look again Saul has the tools there just I felt like he lost a lot of confidence after the first round and struggled to get it back. Um but look we'll see Saul back. He's going to be a perennial contender there at featherweight. So, we'll we'll see what happens with Nick Bagley and what happens with that featherweight title. Um, I suppose next we we'll probably talk about a pair of welterweights maybe next just to get the get the welter maybe we'll talk about all three welterweights. Um, Leon Hill victorious um second round finish calling for Dana White's Contender Series or a call up to the UFC. Um, look, I I actually almost would expect him get the job done in the first round to be honest. Uh Leon Hill is on a tear at the moment. Uh he split a 10k check with the other Wellsby. I want to talk about Adam Derby. Adam Derby uh lovely um crank finish. He's very very we've seen him with a standing guillian finish before. He I think because he has that height over his opponents a lot of the time and he didn't actually have the height advantage as much this time against opponent but uh he's very very good with those uh standing submissions and he got another one. I know his opponent sort of went down to his knees, but it was all all from the stand up position that happened and he himself and Leon Hill split a 10k check 5k each uh for the performance bonus, but I think the crowd have been asked for it. The media have been asked for it. Adam Derbyy's asked for it. I think Leon Hill versus Adam Derby is a fight that the fans would love to see. I think they do come back in summer in Dublin like that could be the main event and no one would benile it on. No, I 100% agree, Ross. Um, like Adam Derby keeps calling out Leon. Um, I know he's called out the likes of Berlinson and Clancy Jr. as well. Um, that look like both guys basically like in in my opinion sort of fought the same type of person. Whereas like looking at like you look at Patty Mccuri there, the way he had like the whole arena bouncing, right? Mhm. >> Then like in Leon's fight, the arena was very very quiet. >> And the thing is like >> like Derby it was louder. But my point is like you need >> people seeing that you're really really getting backed here. And like I think both guys really need a like a name people can recognize to be like right everyone's backing you now. Like beating >> I think I I think neither of these two guys are going to make the noise on their own but with the right dance partner beating each other. I feel like that the noise will be made for them. >> 100%. 100%. Like [clears throat] and the thing is like obviously we promote every Irish fighter that's fighting like like whether you're fighting for instance like over in England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales throughout Europe like we're always pushing you but like us and like your likes Sever and all the other people like your Dun Corbies and um coffee and combats can only promote you so much but like you need to go out there and fight someone that people know and then get a big massive push from like your cage warriors, your octagons, this that and the Um I I feel like that Leon and Adam Derby like need that big name against each other to really be like right this is the welterweight guy in Cage Warriors that is getting that big push now. I think it's just it benefits their careers and whether you win like so even if you win or even if you lose sometimes when you lose you actually win as well. Look at the way like Patty the Batty lost that interim world title fight. He still won at the end of the day. Yeah, 100%. Like he definitely earned a lot of people's respect going toe to just engage for five rounds. Yeah. >> So yeah, I think that would be a phenomenal fight to to make. And then obviously lower down the card you had Andreas Binder um promotional newcomer but the most experienced of the welterweights has also been on top as being in the position that Adam Derby and Leon Hill are fighting for. H what you make of Andreas Binder's performance? Obviously it was a probably a frustrating one for him. has. >> Yeah. Well, look, his debut in the yellow gloves. He's been all around Europe. He's been over in the container, uh, sorry, on the Ultimate Fighter. Um, he was looking for that big finish to make a big statement in the organization. And like your man he fought was very experienced, like just would not get knocked out. And like Andreas Binder, probably the hardest hitter in the welterweight division now from World. Um, he got your man to stand up at least eight times, he said. Um, where is he going next? like he's going to be one to skip the likes of Leon Hills and Adam Darby's now as well. So like >> he might he could potentially fight one of them lads as well. So Andreas is actually in that sort of mix as well. Like you could put Binder against Derby, Binder against Hill, Hill against Derby. Like any one of them fights could headline a Cage Warriors double >> 100%. And especially considering you could I know you called out uh Males or however you say it from Italy and then like I'm sure he'd also love to get the Figlac fight as well. I'm sure Binder wants Binder does want to skip the queue and it's quite evident that he wants to skip the queue. Yeah, I think >> I think sometimes with, you know, uh with Leon, I feel like he's not really interested in the belt. He wants to just rack up the wins until he gets Contender Series. But like I said, I think matching up some of these top welds against each other, I think, is is a way of creating more of a star. Uh and that's and that's what we're looking for next. >> I think that's what they're all looking for, man. the the bigger bigger name you are, the more money in your pocket. Like the more you can get from sponsors, like you know yourself, Ross. You know yourself. Everyone everyone likes to get paid at the end of the day. >> Yeah. Well, uh we'll round off the main card first. H obviously JR Harris was uh unfortunate. He lost a split decision. Um again, the fight was sort of going on the background while we're doing a few interviews at the same time. From the bits I saw of it all looked very, very close. I know J looked like he wore a bit more damage on the fight. Um, and look, the judges gave it to his opponent and it was what it was what it was. Like sometimes that's just the way it happens. And if you aren't dominant enough, sometimes that's the way the fight can go and there's not much you can do about it. So look, Jar will be back that flyweight division, you know, it's always very very exciting. It was a great fight. They won two and a half grand each from it for fight of the night. So uh I'd love to see those bonuses day. I know probably they're just for K 200, but I think those bonuses are pretty cool and uh glad he made a few extra quit out of it. But I suppose speaking of bonuses, we'll move to the featherweight division and uh Max Lai is taking a trip to the UFC PI. Uh he got the job done. Uh another first round submission for him. He he is a man who is uh destined for for great things in this sport and I think the trip the UFC PI will only enhance that destiny. Um look he went in there his opponent tried to get a little choke on him spoke to Max about it said it was never title any stage. He didn't really look to panic and at the end of the day Max went out there got the job done. For me I just want to see Max get more activity. I think that's what he wants. That's what we want to see out of him. I think we'll see that and a step up in competition slowly and I think we have a future cage warriors champion on our hands. >> No, I'd agree. I think obviously if you're looking at who was the biggest star of the night like Patty McCari was it but like when you're looking and like a lot of people these days are talking about Aura and uh Max Lai definitely has that X factor that um the whole crowd was there as well. He's like yet again he was probably one of the top three like biggest ticket sellers in the buildup on the countdown like cage warriors are pushing a lot of maxi like they know they have a star there like the even the team that he walks out with with Sergey and Quely and Rody um like he is a absolute star and a phenom like six and0 like he was also undefeated as an amateur so he's definitely one that we can't wait to see again but the thing is you want to see him compete more like he's fought all his pro fights in Ireland Like like obviously you want to see him on every Dublin card or Irish card, but like you want to see him more active. Like we don't want to wait until like the end of the year >> to see Maxi fight again. Like let's keep these guys rolling. >> Yeah, 100%. And uh speaking of keeping guys rolling, let's have a look at the CMAC duo of Alex O Sullivan and Ko. Alex O Sullivan wins um the battle of the Irish featherweights. He he beat Scott Harvey uh via first round submission. Alex O Sullivan, I think he is a man who needs to continue that uh that rise up the featherweight division. I think he's someone who won more and maybe should be looking for the title. I know he's what 5-0 now and that seems like he's inexperienced, but the fella has 30 amateur uh amateur fights. He is an experienced veteran in the game at this stage. Let's get him to step up in competition soon. I think that's a fella who could be seven or eight and0 in the U and getting get that UFC call. the leader of the Wolfpack really put in the best performance of a career to date. So, uh, fair play to Alexander Alvin. >> Yeah. Well, the thing is when when you say like another step up in like a in standard like Scar Harvey was >> No, Scott Harvey is absolutely top of the top of the range. Like he was the favorite going into the voice Scott Harvey was. >> But that that that was the thing. Remember last week we were talking about I was like this thing is like a 50/50 and like obviously >> uh Alex was the underdog going into this according to the the Bukis and uh the way he like dispatched Scots like very quick was um you're like wow this guy is uh >> better than we thought. >> Yeah. And look I think for Scott like one of the big things is he's had a very busy I'm going to say last nine months in his personal life. He got married. he didn't want to fight before that dynamic honeymoon etc etc. So, like he's had a lot going on in his personal life and also he hasn't had the activity. And I think if you're not getting the activity, you're not getting the reps in. You're just not going to be as active and you're not going to put the best version of yourself forward. And I think activity is something that is definitely a theme of this show and a theme of h the Irish fighters because if we are going from one cage fighters to another, h kiko h said himself in the post fight interview he's at his best when he's getting activity and he's someone who wants to be as active as he can. H to me that could have easily won fight the night as well. That was a phenomenal fight. Gabriel Ramos put up a massive fight in that. He was a real live dog in it. Um it was it was a great fight but you could see when push came to shove the freak show stepped it up a level and he really picked up a striking in the third and he put him away. Kiko absolute phenomenal fighter. Also the the CMAC crowd is a very loud crowd to bring. I feel like that crowd is also growing event on event. I feel like more people are jumping on that CMAC train. Blanchardtown is getting emptier and emptier every time there's a fight night in the ODS. And uh I'm I'm I'm a big fan of the CMAC crew um and what they're doing and I think their their gym has probably rose the most amount of stock in the last 12 months out of any gym. >> No, I'd agree. Like anytime Semac are competing there's a lot of people there like as you said over the weekend even when Jordan Bradshaw was fighting over in Paris like it like blanch on to you know what I mean? But uh no and then it was great to see as well after Keith's fight he then cornered Alex as well. So it was uh it was great to see the the bond they have there is uh something that a lot of people like aspire to do. So like Alexander Sullivan and the team there like shout out to you guys and also like cage warriors as well. Keith Ko they are pushing him as well. So like very very like there's great things to like just get on the CMAC train now because uh there's a lot of stuff happening as well. So like I think Bolads will definitely be out again soon. Maybe Alex a lot sooner. >> Yeah, I think he took less damage. So, yeah, it would make sense, wouldn't it? >> It would make sense, Ross. >> Yeah. Um I suppose we'll have a quick look at the two SPG Nace boys now. Um look, Alex Ko, as the nickname says, the taxis outside done in 24 seconds in the Cage Warriors debut. Again, couldn't have went more perfect for him, but also like we want to see activity from this guy as well. like that was absolutely sensational performance. Um he is a real real standout 8 and0 as an amateur now 1 as a pro. Uh he actually said to us backstage don't mean to out him but he had staff infection a couple of weeks out. H but he had no no uh no thoughts of pulling out. This was a big card, big de for him. He's waited a while for it and uh it was worth the wait. Short and sweet. Um, let's let's see that man out there again cuz that was sensational. And then his teammate Conor McCarthy uh finishing with the first round body shots. I felt like Connor's had some really tough scraps the last couple of times out and I felt like this finish would really stand to him. I think it would be a nice confidence builder with him wearing the yellow gloves getting the finish and I also feel like he got to show his level out there. What did it make the SPG NAC boys bas? >> No, phenomenal. Like uh we were saying going into this, Conor McCarthy needs a like a finish. Like his last couple of fights with Cage Warriors, it's gone to decision. Um like for how good he is, finishes go viral. And uh I feel I felt like to justify like how much talent this guy has and how much dedication he has to it. Like he needs he needs a a finish and especially in Dublin as well. And he got that finish. So I was over the moon for him as well cuz like everyone knows like how good Conor McCarthy is in Ireland. And then as you said there with Alex Ko like that like what he's been doing on the amateur scene. Obviously not many people follow the amateur scene as much as we do. Put it that way. And like knowing that he's like that good and then he came out and like finished your man quick like there wasn't many people in the arena who actually saw it live because people were like it was over in like less than >> people was just getting their tickets to get in. >> Yeah. Yeah. Like it was over within less than a minute. So uh look great night for SPG NASCA. Obviously Max Li is affiliated there as well. So like Peter Quy and Sergey were over the moon with that. >> Yeah, absolutely. And we'll just finish it off with two team Rhino featherweights. Well, one was at a catchweight. Uh Damon McKenna getting his first cage warriors win. Uh I was really really happy for him. H he threw some lovely shots throughout. He had a a lovely unique style of blocking the low kick where he it was almost like a Rabona style uh block at one stage through the fight. very very uh unorthodox way of doing it. But he finished the fight with a big liver shot and uh he got his first win on the cage wire featherweight rank. So I think that was important for him for him to grow his confidence. But uh also again he's a man who was looking to get back out there and fight fight actively. He said he's not someone who wants to be that Cage Warriors guy. He fights twice a year. He wants three or four times a year and I think a lot of the guys do. And uh speaking of cage warriors featherweights, uh Lewis Burn fought Dylan Logan at a catchweight. Um Lewis hit him early with a big right hand, dropped Dylan Logan. Dylan Logan um showed some great grit and nearly got Lewis in a rear naked choke position. had his back and was was fighting for the choke, but uh Lewis escaped, showed great composure and then got in the crucifix position and then um sort of ground and pound I suppose from there to get get the hand raised. uh thought Lewis Burn looked really really relaxed um from from start to finish considering it was a big step up in competition, big stage for for uh someone like that and I felt like he really really went in there relaxed and was cool and composed throughout the entire fight. I also uh would be excited to see Dylan Logan back. I'd love to actually see Dylan Logan fight Damen McKenna next. I think that's a great scrap. No, look, when Lewis versus Dylan was announced, it was like, look, these Irish and Irish fights, like this is what like gets people um very excited. Like even the way Alex against Scott Harvey. So going into this one, like obviously Dylan's record now is five and five, Lewis now 4-0, but like I felt like um Dylan was probably the favorite just based on experience. >> Yeah. Well, like it goes to show the activity as you said earlier is very important and that's why I think like Lewis got the victory. Dylan said after he wants to stay active, he wants to fight again. So, it will be very interesting. Maybe Dylan Logan could fight uh Joe Doyle. >> Yeah, that that that can be an option. Um I'm not I'm not too sure what Joe Doyle's contract status is. I know Dylan Logan has one more fight with Cage Warrior. So, uh we look I'm definitely here for I I'd watch. So, let let's see. Let's see what happens. Let's see where Cage Warriors go next. But uh and then overall shout shout out to Damon as well. Like first person from Omar Rhino to get a victory in Cage Warriors as well. So >> 100% rep repping it for the lads. Really really important up there. So look it was it was a fantastic night. Also wanted to say thanks to everyone who came up to us on the night and said hello. >> Well like you also have to give a shout out to Kenny Mocha Nana as well. Finally got the victory in the yellow post. A >> apologies. Uh I was I went through my head and said did SPG. So, uh, sorry, Kenny that his, uh, he got the decision win. He wasn't actually happy with the the performance. He felt like he gassed out a bit. He needs to work on the gas tank. That's that's, uh, his own words, not mine. Um, I think Kenny's looking to get out of this this contract. Maybe you can have a have a chat with Cage Wires and they can they can release him early if that's what he's looking for. Uh, he's looking to fight on on different shows. I think you know he he looks at bringing home the bread from fighting and I think obviously he earned significant pay paydays in PFL and Bellator and he feels like he he's not getting that those significant paydays. I suppose he's 29 at this stage. He wants to push career on. So uh hopefully hopefully he gets what he's looking for and hopefully he gets the paydays. Uh Kenny's a lovely fella and you know like we do with everyone else pass we hope everyone gets their payday. uh when they put on those gloves, those four rounds gloves and go to work. >> Exactly, man. As always. >> Yeah. Sorry, I was only going to say want to say uh shout out to everyone come up and say hello because uh I bumped into Trevor Mckeno in the crowd and uh he was there signing autographs, taking pictures, being the celeb that he is. Uh unfortunately, we didn't get to see him him on the night. He was the only he was the only victim uh of of the card who didn't get to go out there and perform. And it wasn't even his fault. his opponent pulled out. So, uh yeah, a few uh few people got in there and got a few selfies with us and uh look, it is what it is. Part and parcel. We're always happy to do that. Sometimes I think it's a bit weird that you want to follow me, but look, I won't say no. >> No, man. People using you for clout, man. It's like me using you for clout, man. [laughter] >> Typical. Typical. >> No, it's great. I mean, like this that's what it's all about. Like obviously we're going to get into ADCC now shortly, but like going to the Cage Warriors events, like covering them as much as we do over the years, like doing face offs for world titles, etc. Like for like a recent key. Um, when you actually go there, you get to see all the like because there's so many gym affiliates there and we cover so many gyms, it's great to just like like shake hands and see how they're doing and have quick chats because >> obviously people watch us more on online and then when we're actually there, they're like, "What? They're actually real." >> And they're actually in person. It's like I didn't notice you without the glasses. [laughter] >> And yeah, but like even it's cool when some fighters come and go, "Oh, thanks so much for all the coverage." Or some of the the gym gym owners come and go, "Oh, thanks so much for all the coverage for the gym. Really appreciate it." And like we really do try our best to uh cover absolutely everybody as much as we can. H it's it's definitely not easy. Like just to put it into context, you know, we were up from from 7:00 a.m. on Saturday and we did make it home till what close to midnight. So that that that's a long ass day. That's like 16 17 hour day just to give all the fighters and jiu-jitsu athletes the coverage they deserve. So again, not looking for someone to go, "Oh, poor you." or anything like that. It's just more to give context to how much effort that we are putting in to producing the best content that we can. Yeah, that's why the Instagram was absolutely full. Shake Cleland will making his long awaited professional debut fighting out of team TZ. Um, we've seen him fight plenty of times. He has a very, very exciting style. And Paul Nolan, as a veteran, that is going to be your main event. It's going to be a fantastic fight. As we speak right now, Kevin Kio out of team Rhino Waterford does not have an opponent. So, we'll see see if anyone can step up to him. But we have some unbelievable other fights. Michael Shields, um, Irish amateur of the year for the Energizer Show. H, absolute fighter. takes on against Michael Carmel of Teen Tres. Michael Carmel has had some big wins in the last year. We see the Shane Smith coming back again. He's fighting Paul Fitzgerald. Paul Fitzgerald doesn't know how to be in a boring fight which is always entertaining. Nathan Taco Chambers versus Rean Dun Levy. H this is another grappling fest here. Two of the best grappers in the country going toe-to-toe. And another one that I'm really looking forward to is Ricky Deujo versus Ethan Shy. Another fantastic matchup at Euro Fighting Championship. The Decki Malinan is doing a stellar job up there. Canal Court Hotel Sunday the first of March. Be there. Get the paid for you stream. Well, a lot of people were like I mean he's there he's there in champ camp with Michael Chandler and like it's just like it's time like he's >> like he this he's he's a dangerous like dangerous adult now. I think he's 18 now, isn't he? >> Yeah, I think so. Yeah. >> Yeah. So, uh, no, like the card is pretty good. Like, um, as you said, Shay Cleland, like he's doing great things on the scene. Like, uh, Paul Nolan, like he he fought on PFL in Dublin. So, like he's used to the bright lights, like as you said, Michael Shield against Michael Cartill, the battle of the Michaels, like >> Shield's massive following from Fight Academy. Um, look, hopefully Kevin Ko gets an opponent. He wasn't meant to fight um Roger Lopez. Um so like and Dei Malin like always puts on a great events like the right now looking at the card I think Nathan Taco Chambers against Reandon Levy is my one to definitely watch out for it. Um like Taco Chambers he's always out there always very exciting. Reindon Levy seems like he's fighting every week now. >> Yeah, he really really does and fair play to him. He really is a a top competitor. He's uh obviously he went toe-to-toe there with Shane Carby down leaf fighting championship came up uh short on the judges scorecards but at the end of the day like he is definitely someone to someone to look out for. So I I I think he's sort of brought in at times where you're like oh you know is he he's he's almost nearly always the way fighter is how how I how I describe it. And uh I think I'd love to see him get in there again and uh maybe bring home a belt on his terms, you know. >> Yeah. Well, like someone who loves doing that is like Max Mafi as well. He loves being the the bad guy and then you know what I mean? Like so like this is this is the fight game, you know? But uh so that that goes down on Sunday the 1st of March. The year is flying by. Then in the then the week after on the 7th of March, cage conflict goes down. The week after on the 14th, Virtuous goes down and then the week after that, the 21st of March, Clan Wars. >> Clammy Wars. >> So like March is huge for Irish M8. There's literally an event every weekend and we will be covering each and every single one of them as per usual. Ross, >> very energized. >> That is very energizing, man. Uh, okay. I just want to give a couple of shout outs as well before we get into the world of jiu-jitsu because I know >> I know Kieran Davin's watching right now and he's like, "Can you talk about me on ADCC?" And so, Kieran, relax the CS there, B. You're an absolute legend. So, we'll get to you now shortly. Just had to give a few shout outs here. Um, so this weekend, Michael Con's boxing returns on the 27th. Uh, that goes down in Belfast. Uh, also, Warriors gym's very own Tom Ko will be fighting a number of one championship on Friday on Friday as well. Make sure to check that out. He went 40 last time. Uh then on Saturday, uh Total Combat goes down as D Begley is competing on that. And also on the 28, Hitman Fighting Promotions goes down. Craig Coco Kley and Ty Ganon from DCA are going to be competing on that card. And as we said, your fighting championships goes down on the Sunday and so does Kaizan Grappling, which we will get into this part of the show. So Ross, as you said, we went to Cage Warriors, but before that, we at 8:00 a.m. we were in DCU for ADCC Ireland's Celtic Championship. Ross, yeah, we absolutely were. Uh, I suppose just to give the the show a shout out. Shout out to everyone who worked on the show, all the refs, all the judges, all all the runners, the medical team who were put through their paces on the day. Uh and then uh Jamie and Katy who are working on registrations and the general run of the event. It was really really wellrun. Uh very smoothly run and look all the competitors seem to have a really good time. So we we love and we see that and h shout out to the main man Kieran Davin for putting it all together. But I suppose we'll start off with the the biggest winner of the day, the absolute pro division champion. He walked home with a€,000 euro in his back pocket. the one and only Mr. Eric Souza. H Eric Souza, that's his fourth time winning an ADCC title. Um he only had a child in December and he is one of the best jiu-jitsu practitioners on this island. He definitely plans on entering a few more international competitions, but again I think he only entered it the day or day before um the registration closed. So Eric Souo, what a man to jump in there. Um I suppose uh he beat Herbert Ferrer in the in the final. We all saw some other great competitors uh like like um Shane Sweeney. We saw uh Ryan Parfield come over from the UK. He won the absolute uh pro masters division h as well. My god, he was a big unit of a man. >> Um so look, there was some >> Tom Higgins from America as well. >> Yeah, Tom Higgins from America. Him and um him and Eric Hughes had a great match in the semi-finals. Yeah, >> really really impressive stuff from start to finish. Uh there's a few other people who who I want to give little shout outs to who who was very impressive. Uh Zeon Riberio um really really impressive. He uh I think he was in the sub 70 kilo bracket uh on the pro side and he went and beat one of the uh plus 100 kilo guys in one of the quarterfinals, the absolutes. Uh that was always really entertaining to watch. Um in terms of other people, Jack Dolan won the 83 Kilo a pro. He looked really really good. There was some great matches there. Shout out to Ryan Higgins who won the intermediate um at 100 kilos plus that was pretty cool. H Colin Curley as well. Honest. Him and Dylan Sansson had a great match in in the final. Uh and then Baz you watched won the matches of the year. uh maybe two of the matches of the year in the Masters 83 kilos. I think uh Peter Doyle versus Stu Mol Peter ended up in a blood fest and then Peter Doyle versus uh George Santos. I think they they were nearly off the mats. They were >> Yeah. Yeah. Like I got that on camera. I had to make sure I was picking my toes for that one, Ross. >> Yeah, absolutely. They were they were running you off the map, Basmo. >> Jeez, it's working overtime for that. And uh tell what what about yourself, Baz? Anyone uh you watching you thought they were they go I know you were watching uh Char Charlie Burn again and >> yeah Charlie or Burn that they last time we were there he won gold he won gold against again this time um he won by disqualification in the main event but there was one match up that I was really looking forward to watching and that was uh that was Charlie Burn against the young Wayne Perry. Wayne Perry. Exactly. From NextGen Liverpool. Like this this division was like very very good. But like it was also the way you had like loads of young young kids competing like at a very very high level like also the girls as well getting involved. Um the community is something that is uh it's great to see. Obviously that's only my second tournament going to but uh just the way it runs so smoothly. There's a lot of respect. the the more coverage these events get, I think more people are going to want to compete. So, uh it was just great and I just can't wait to see what happens next. So, uh as we said, ADCC Ireland is back in May, so make sure to get registered for that as well because, uh we will be there. Ross has Kieran on camera saying he wants us there again, Ross. So, uh can't wait to do that. Yeah, it was also like great to get some lovely messages after the fact from uh some of the BJJ competitors saying, "Oh, like it's great to have people covering the sport the way you guys are covering it." So, um look, we're obviously newer to the BJJ space, but we're we're happy to keep on doing so and happy to keep on highlighting BJJ events and it was really really cool. Uh like like it's great like because we saw competitors there who I've never seen before like uh I saw Christian Ryan Hold medal. He's fighting out of uh Kings Court Academy Andrew Barrett's gym and hooked really really impressive and uh from fight academy Ireland uh Pierce Fenuk and I hope I said his name right uh he got two Peruvian chokes in a row when I was watching him on the M. I was like that that was very unique to see uh someone do two in a row. So, and then uh Herbert Fra who lost in the final, like he throws on those uh leg box and ankle locks so fast that you're just like it's such it's so uh cool to see people implement their game at such a high level. >> Yeah. No, it's great. And like the the how vast the ages are from people from like the underage to the olders, the more the more mature ones, let's say. Yeah. >> So, uh it's no it is great to see and the community is great and uh Kieran Davvern and and like everyone part of ADCC Ireland like it's uh it's obviously not an easy job to do but um like what they're doing for the community is brilliant and um I look forward to being like at more events and covering it as well cuz uh it's it's great crack and it's it's just uh run really well. So if as I said it's back in May, get involved like the money that you can win the belts and uh like much more. >> Definitely definitely it's for me it's it's the premier grappling event in the country to to go and win. >> Yeah. Yeah. Well, the thing is like more and more of these competitions are popping up and uh the BJA community um needs more promotion and now that it's it's a registered like it's an official um like registered sport now in Ireland as well. So, it's only going to grow and the more people that get involved the better. So, uh and look to change your life and it's uh it's just going to keep getting better and better. So, shout out to everyone that is involved. So also there is more BJJ competitions going down. So this weekend Kaizen goes down on Sunday, March the first. Ross, yes. Look, some really really high level jiu-jitsu practitioners competing here. I'm going to run through a few ones that I like to watch and ones who I think are one to watch out for. H definitely watch out for uh Dylan Dylan O Dulan from Antok BJJ black belt h competes all the time. David Zamora from Lakeland Jiu-Jitsu. Very very high level competitor. Really do enjoy watching him uh him compete. Charlie Free who got a a submission win over Jared Ryan down in Elite Fighting Championships. That's one definitely to watch out for. Uh Zeon Riverio versus Jack Cassidy is an absolute stellar matchup. We obviously saw Zeon there at ADCC. H we saw Jack Cassidy before ADCC last time out. Phenomenal match matchup. Um, also uh on that card we saw Aaron Skully who I think took a gold medal home. Charlie Ourn Basmo, one of your favorites to watch will also be competing at Kaisen. So there's plenty plenty more. Amy Skully's competing there. Um Rosa Walsh is competing. Peter Doyle is competing. The list goes on and on. It's a really really good card. Christian Li's competing. Maxi's younger brother. H he's fighting against Shane Cardy or Shay Cardy. you know, the Lollies versus the Carbies. Maybe we'll get Shane Carbby versus Max Lai on the card. Who knows? Like these are some of the the elite matchups that we will see uh across across a couple of days. Uh Steve Pel from SPG Ireland is fighting Bruno Henrik. Bruno Henrik got a really good submission win over Steum Peter there. So there's plenty of top top of the range jiu-jitsu to see. H I can't wait to see it as well. It's going to be an absolute brilliant one. I think uh Neil Mcguin is fighting as well um at uh from ECJJ. So let's let's see them all. Let's see who goes comes out here. H the best Marcus Fielding as well is also BJ Top Black Belt Bosmo. I can't name any more people. There won't be enough tags left for you to do on Instagram with all these people I've named. >> But uh yeah, also I have to say that Stuart Peter definitely someone to look out for as well and Turlock Sheen as well. >> Yeah. Yeah, 100%. I know Stu got a bit of an injury there at the weekend, so hopefully he's good to compete, but he is a relentless competitor. So, uh I I am definitely looking forward to them all. Uh I I think also George Santos is fighting as well on the card as well. So, we we we have to we have to just wait and see. I think there's going to be a bit of reshuffleling, but Nicholas Donnelly as well. Like I think every match has someone who I'm like, "Right, they're brilliant at jitsu. Can't wait to see them fight." >> Yeah. Well, like like what Rosa Walsh is doing like she's really pushing the scene as well internationally as well. >> Yeah. >> So, uh >> look, it's great to see Irish competitors doing really well. I think we have to discuss Dana White against Eddie Hearn. Ross, I thought these two were best mates, but uh look, when you're competing in the same scene, you're going to there's going to be back and forths. >> The battle lines have been drawn. Eddie, what you make on? >> Um, so far, I think Dana White is winning short term, but I think Eddie Hearn might win long term. I think Dana White obviously won by taking Connor Ben from right under Eddie Hearn's nose. Uh I think that's a bad look Freddy Hearn that one of his sort of staple fighters, one of his most well-known fighters just h walked away from right in front of him. But I will say from the other side of things um I think you know 15 million for one fight for Conor Ben like how much is money is for boxing going to make with Conor Ben? Like how much what's the return on investment going to be from? Um also like can they build a card around him? Who's he going to fight etc. So, I'm just like, I know they needed a name and they've got their name, but what are they going to do with that name? >> That's where I'm unsure. >> I know you said it was a bad look for Eddie Hearn, but like I was more like, is it more of a bad look for Connor Ben? Look, the thing is like I think in life, loyalty is the most important thing. Um, but look, in the fight game like >> 100%, but like a lot of these guys are loyal to their wallet. >> I know, but that's the I watched the ed interview first and he felt really let down that like for everything he's done for Connor Ben in the background like I know he said he lent him money this that and the other but it was more like he was the one person who really really stood up for Connor Ben after the egg incident and then >> the drugs in >> what >> and the drugs incident. >> Yeah. Well, the dispos was like contaminated eggs he had. But my point is is that >> Oh, I thought I thought you meant when he like the slap with the egg. >> No, no, he said he had contaminated eggs. But my like then so you're sort of like yeah Connor Ben that was a bit like come on man how could you do that daddy and then when I watched Connor Ben's interview he was like look I'm just world champions that have not haven't got a pot to piss in and stuff and he wants to look after he's lo his family first and then I was like look I totally understand that as well so I'm sort of like but like Conor Ben already has loads of money but like obviously who doesn't want more money but like when you like there's there's more than than just making a few quid right now like you also have to look long term as well. So >> what like honestly who's right? I don't know. I don't have kids. I don't like like like I know you do. You have your own family. So like maybe like what way do you see it? Like I think I think it really comes down to relationships. And I think I think sometimes promoters think they're better friends with the fighters than they are and they think that they're they're there. But like realistically are are are they are they friends or are they business partners? because they're two different things and at the end of the day, you know, what was Eddie Hearn bringing to the table, how far off was he Dana White's offer and if you can see how far off he was, then you can sort of see what the value of someone's loyalty was. Like if Connor Ben was like, "Right, there's 12 million for your next fight with Eddie Hearn and 15 million with Dana White." Like then maybe expect them to be a bit more loyal. But like if Eddie Hearn was like, "Your next fight you're going to get 5 million." And Dana was like, "All right, we'll give you 15 million. That's three times as much. So, I think it really depends on what was Eddie Hearn doing for him now, like what have you done for me lately type of thing. >> Yeah, but he's just after coming off that fight against um Eubank Jr., the second one. >> Oh, 100%. But like, who knows? Maybe he thinks his stock is an all-time high and like he thinks 15 million is his new entrance fee. Also, who knows what they're going to do with Super Boxing? Will there be a Netflix deal somewhere on the table for for a once- off fight? You know, uh >> Turkey can open a lot of doors. >> Yeah, but it's they signed a contract with Sky Sports. >> Well, there you go. Like, let let's let's see what they're going to do. But we all know there's backhanders in there as well. Um with Turkey Alles and you know how much of that 15 million is coming out of Zua pocket and Dana White's uh bank account and how much of it is also you got to be interested with the UFC fighters are going to be like hold on Connor Ben's getting 15 million. He's not even a world champion. >> Like will that ruffle feather's there? >> Who knows? I think a lot I I think a lot more needs to be seen. I think Zufa needs to have about seven or eight events before we can start really know what's going on >> cuz they can easily step things up on the production side. Like I know I I I think one of their biggest mistakes was doing an event in the Apex. >> Yeah. Well, they were a negative tone for >> they were having fights in the Apex like remember that the Colin Walsh one I was like right they're probably going to take a couple of weeks off but they were right back the week after and the week after that and no one really cared. >> But now they're making big noise. This is big noise. >> Yeah, but that's what I mean. Like they need another two or three foilers of that elk to then actually put a card together. >> And do you think it's going to be in the Apex again? Connor Ben? >> No. No. No. No. No. No. Connor Ben. Connor Ben won't be the Apex. If anything, they'll try and do Conor Ben in the UK >> because that would really piss off Eddie Hearn if they put on a UK show. >> Yeah. Yeah. It's just Do you know what? Hon Sean Strickland went on an absolute mad one on the mic this week across um free speech. >> Yeah, absolutely. Uh look, great finish. I I wasn't expecting him to be able to do that. Dan Hernandez went in there, got the job done. H big win for Sean Strickland. Could be Hamat next from him. Um, I think maybe him or Dick Stupy I think are are the two fights I'd want to see Strickland in. But uh, yeah, look, Sean Strickland's a bit too much for me on the bike. I think he's he's absolutely off the rocker half the time. But, uh, I suppose UFC said they don't they don't um, censor fighters and they're proving that. And look, it is what it is. We'll just have to see um, what comes next for Sean Strickland and who can shut that big mouth up. >> Yeah. Well, that's the thing. Like someone's someone can just step up and finish. So like you just it's just it's just like >> I think the gay slurs are a bit much for me. Like it's a bit like you know >> it's too much. Like I think he's trying to be as reckless as possible and like he succeeded. >> He's like how far can I take this without being cancelled? >> Yeah. No, he's like how do I get canled? You know what I mean? And then uh then this weekend UC goes to Mexico as Brandon Marino takes on Loner Kavanaaugh in the main event. Ross big big fight for Loner Cavet to take on Short Nautis against Brandon Marino. >> Yeah, look I think if Lonnie Kavanaaugh wins this, you know, I mean he's he's looking at a number one contender fight or maybe this is a number one contender fight with a win here. H I think him versus Joshua Van is actually a very interesting matchup. So Lonnie having a look big risks come big reward and uh a win here could be big reward for him but uh no mean feat trying to take out uh Brandon Moro former UFC multiple time former UFC flyweight champion. So he is a top top caliber opponent and look we'll have to see how it plays out. I think Moreno is going to be the betting favorite but Kevin's got the youth and experience on his side. >> Exactly. [gasps] So Ross, just before we wrap things up as well, it's going to be announced that PFL are coming to Belfast. >> Yes, they are. April 16th uh headline by Paul Hughes on a Thursday night as well. So interesting that they've done it this this way. Let's not uh make any judgments on it until we see the card. I'd love to see the likes of Reese McKe sign to the card. I'd like to see Kay Lan on the card. I'd like to see Derek Kelly on the card. Uh, I wouldn't mind seeing one or two other Fighter Academy Ireland fighters on the card if possible. H maybe um Mck, maybe Sean McCormack if he's nice and active. O McDonald's potentially on the card. Cory McLolin on the card. Let's see a few fight academy Ireland guys on the card. Let's see Sheran on the card. And uh hopefully PFL can do something similar to the likes of Cage Warriors 200 and make it a night to remember for the Irish fans. >> Exactly. Exactly.
