we're brought by the face of UFC F pass it is the one and only King Callum Walsh Callum how you doing bu I'm good here in New York uh waiting for my fight so yeah thanks for having me yeah for the people tuning in right now make sure to check out king Callum Walsh back in action in MSG live on UFC fight pass this Thursday Ross yeah I can't wait for it man H have you been to the big gole before colum I was here a few weeks ago to to do a face off and stuff for my opponent and I was here once before actually had MSG for the for the katd Taylor fight so was some Buzz that night so I'm looking forward to putting on a show there myself now Thursday yeah that that was unbelievable stuff uh did you take any anything from that fight watching her fight man Rano in MSG you like when that when you actually saw that fight were you like that's going to be me someday yeah I was some feeling you know standing inside there and seeing all the Irish Flags around the place and seen the massive support from from the Irish people and when I was in there watching I was thinking so like I want this to be me someday you know I want all these Irish fans to show up for me and uh now it's happening you know Thursday night I'm I'm hoping to get the same kind probably not as big as Katy Taylor like yet but definitely hoping to get a big Irish crowd over here now Thursday night and uh and have a good night yeah you had a great turnout in Boston as well didn't you colum yeah there was a good turnout in Boston yeah yeah definitely but I'm I'm I'm expecting a bigger turnout here know New York you know considering it's it's m Square Garden you know where everybody wants to fight and and where everybody goes to the biggest fights in the world so am I'm hoping we get a big Irish crowd out here on Thursday night yeah not many Pros uh after what would it be your ninth fight will we'll get to a headline of Madison Square Garden you know I mean is is this something that you're really looking to soak in this week soak in the atmosphere soak in the ring walk soak in every little bit of it yeah you know I'm enjoying every minute of it while I'm here but I I I understand and I have one job to do and that that's win the fight Thursday night and after I win Thursday you know I'm still going I'm going to stay in New York till Monday so I'll have a couple of days to enjoy it think about it and uh and go back to MSG Saturday night for for the UFC fights yeah because uh you have to make sure to tune in to UFC 295 this Saturday uh tabichi is also fighting on the card isn't she com yeah she is yeah yeah so that's the thing right so I'm going to fight Thursday and so once I once I fight and I win it's only half of the job done you know I can't I can't chill out and enjoy it yet until she wins Saturday so it's like I win Thursday and it's only the job is only half done like you know so Saturday night we'll enjoy it after after she gets the win and and we we're B after winning we can uh we can chill out and enjoy New York until Monday K I'm not gonna lie I saw some funny uh Tik toks I think that you commented on after you took tab reach off the market uh you had to laugh at them a s my my DMs if you can see the M I'm getting over that stuff but I'm getting I'm getting de dead threats and everything in in the DMS but I don't know I think it's just Bo are just messing it's gone it's gone to that stage now where it's just a joke like and every picture know she post to me all the boys are commenting it's all right know [ __ ] you f yeah I tell you this going out with someone who's also a fighter that's got to be ideal for you that's got to make your life easier that you're both have the same goal the same focuses like even the small things like you're probably both eating the same types of food and stuff like that yeah you know this this actually is it's made a massive difference uh to my life you know this Camp has been my best Camp it's made it it's made life so much easier know she she's like uh sure you see the shape of her but she's way better shaped than me so she must she must be doing something right so I've been I've been uh taking a few pages out of her book like and uh following following what she's telling me to do but um yeah no it's definitely made a lot easier the last few camps like I'm living by myself you know so it's it's kind of hard to get motivated or like you know just eat the right things and and do the training but when she's around you know she's she's keep me uh motivated keep me you know a young 22y old like me you know I'd be doing random stuff but uh n she's she's been keep me in check right for for this camp and uh been very strict and uh yeah obviously it's made life a lot easier and when you know you're with someone like that's fighting two days after you you don't want to be losing fights you know you don't want to lose and her win you know and the same way like she doesn't want to see me win and her lose so we're definitely pushing each other training very hard and uh we're ready for this week yeah will she' be invited to d d Munch down in Cork oh yeah I have to get her into D Munch right for Christmas i' take it for Christmas maybe I I love things are alling up also uh you've also signed with for as well how did that come about because uh obviously that's a match made in heaven yeah definitely you know the creamiest points out there I never I never had one but company man yeah yeah yeah I never had them but I'm looking forward to it now Thursday night you know I haven't I haven't drank no in a while so I'm looking for a nice a nice creamy pint on uh on on Thursday night or what was it the the Brock Lesnar quote I'm going to I'm going to go drink a what was he saying he was on got drink a board light not a m I'm going to say I'm I'm going to go drink a forge D still cuz Guinness won't pay me all money I love that I that that that's that's where you want to be that's where you want to be uh Callum tell us this what do you know about your opponent coming into this fight and uh is he another body to you or do do you see him as a steady Step Up competition yeah he's a good step up you know he's he's a young fighter he's a prospect for Mo here who's uh not going to want to lose in his hometown you know I'm fighting him in in his backyard and I'm that's what I want to do you know I want to show up to New York being in a tough fight and and prove that I'm a real fighter and I'm here to stay you know um so yeah I'm I'm looking forward to it but to be honest I don't I don't care who I fight you know I never have I'm going to show up and I'm going to do what I do best and uh and try to finish him and make a make a big statement out here in New York yeah colum one thing that you've always said is that you'll fight anyone and the people's records that you're fighting as well are always improving now I know a couple of times people falling out and then you've had to take late notices but that's that's the fight game but like this now like ishma Vel 13 and one and like you're eight and0 now like you're constantly pushing yourself you're like um you're not taking any easy fights C and and the thing is he's young too I don't know how old he 25 25 26 yeah yeah yeah so like I'm not fighting some old old fellow here enough for an easy fight in M again I'm fighting that's that's that's young that's going to be you know as strong as me well maybe not as strong as me but he's going to be strong in it but like he's young and he's not going to want to lose in front of his home crowd and that's the thing about it is I'm coming in here and I don't want an easy fight I want to like give the the fans and stuff that they're they're paying to come and see a good fight and that's what I want to do I want to go in and and put on put on an exciting show for them and uh and get them all warmed up and ready for for the UFC on Saturday yeah absolutely um call at the moment like I'm looking up some of the the rankings here and I can see uh dral Charlo was the champion in EUR Division and at the moment you're ranked like 35 in the world which is insane to be 22 uh this according to box track now of course but uh how how many more fights do you want to have before you start jumping up those charts to be fighting to top 15 in the world we'll say top 15 because that's that's what people know UFC wise yeah yeah so I'm I'm ranked number 30 whatever on box St right now but I'm ranked 6 16 by the WC okay even better yeah so um so after this fight I'm hoping to to jump up a lot you know cuz cuz my opponent I'm ranked like 30 something my opponent's ranked like 40 something you know so it's not like it's not like I'm fighting if for let us way up the rankings know we're we're close enough and uh so if I finish this f i I'll jump up to ranks a lot you know so I'm expecting probably another another after this fight I I want to fight for another belt you know get get myself up into the into the top 10 then after that yeah yeah that belt that belt it it was fully seeing you do some skits with the belt when you went home like you know imag two of them or three or three yeah Jesus go on B yeah I know but they also fighting in the Masson Square Garden now this is obviously like a dream for like any fighter growing up like where like at the end of the year like this obviously going to be your last fight of the year but like at the end of the year where Did you sort of go to try and outdo that again in 2024 you know I think the goal is just keep coming back here um keep coming back here and just keep making it bigger and bigger and and eventually sell out the big arena I'm fighting in a theater right now so we're going to try and see how that goes put on a few good shows here probably definitely come back here next year and uh hopefully early next year maybe even St Patrick's Day you know see what happens and uh and just keep growing and keep getting bigger and uh and hopefully sell out that big arena yeah you have to look at that way like you know you have you have MSG theater MSG like I'm sure the team OA at some stage will have a king colal uh Pay-Per-View fight night uh like sure someone's been do to do uh what is it the Cowboys H Stadium you know what I mean like they're they're all in the future and like you know your meteoric Ro seems to be unmatched by anyone uh do you do you feel like you've risen really fast or do you feel like because of all the years of hard work you've put into uh boxing that like it's come just the right time because obviously you from you know first pro debut fight to where you are now like it's probably chalk and cheese but like you've been putting in the graph for years behind the scenes yeah definitely I feel like it I'm definitely Rising fast you know I'm definitely one of the fastest uh Rising people in boxing right now but it's because I I've worked hard you know I've done this my whole life I've been doing it since I was six years old and I'm I'm not taking easy fights you know I'm willing to fight whoever and and that's the only way you can you can do it you know that's the only way you can get up to the rankings is by fighting B that are that are veterans or that are are coming up to rankings too and and proving that you're supposed to be there and that and that's what I'm doing yeah absolutely I think also it's it's so unique because you're obviously boxing on UFC fo pass as well not many fighters are brought up with a CO such a large Combat Sports platform behind them like that and then like you're sort of the face of UFC Fight Pass boxing as that like you know I mean like I know other Fighters do fight on the cards but like it's all revolved around you so like you know uh sometimes you might say don't put all your eggs in one basket but I feel like UFC uh and the boxing aspect all the EGS are in the CB basket but it's a pretty nice looking basket yeah yeah definitely but I'm I'm I'm proving every time that you know they put all the eggs in the right basket you know I'm I'm I'm I'm fighting good fights I never turn down the opponent ever you know I never said no to anybody and and that's just how it's going to be I'm never going to say no to an opponent I'm going to show up every time and put on the best show possible and and and and keep winning and just just see where we go from here you know yeah and what's the feedback been like from Ireland as well cuz like obviously you're going from bigger and bigger Stadium selling selling more and more tickets like what like I see there has been promotion during this week about you fighting in Bon Square Garden but like you yourself what sort of feedback are you getting from Ireland yeah I know I was talking to my friends there yesterday they were saying we we can't get away from you when we're in the car driving to work we can hear you on the radio you're on the [ __ ] newspaper everything they said they can't get away from me back home their heads are wrecked but uh but no you know there there's massive support from back home obviously like any like the Irish always get behind the fighters you know I especially a young fell like me like I'm only I'm only 22 and I'm headl the show here in M Square Garden you know who who else is doing that you know so there's massive support from back home and uh it's just going to keep getting bigger and bigger as long as I keep winning yeah you really are surounding yourself with the best like obviously Freddy roach one of the greatest boxing trainers of all time you could probably argue he is the best of all time uh obviously you know you have Dana W uh backing you all the way and you even have Conor McGregor backing you all the way like the like all the like Global Giants of uh Combat Sports are behind you do you really feel that and how often are you in contacts with the likes of Dana White yeah I talk to Dana all time you know even just uh about about six weeks ago I was down at the UFC headquarters and I done my first ice bad ever with with Dana you know I was supposed to I was you stay in longer yeah I was listen to this right so I was supposed to I never done ice before right for any of my camps D and I was like talking to me he was like oh what you do for recovery I said for 22 what you mean recovery you know I just but uh so any I was supposed to do my first ice B on the Sunday with with taba and uh so I was down UFC on uh on a Saturday in the headquarters and I was telling Dan I was like I'm doing my first ice back tomorrow and he was like no no no you're going to you're going to do your first ice B no here today and I was like I don't have shs or not and he was like I'll give you a pair of shs and get in and I don't know if you seen it but I post I posted the video of me doing it saw I went in there he had a cold plunge and it was freezing it was the coldest thing I've ever done but he had a steam room and we done that but I I always talk to him you know I send him I send him pictures every time I do the The Ice bats and he's asking me you know how my camps are going stuff so I I talk to Dana a lot you know we we have a good relationship do you WhatsApp or what's what's his best best medium I just text him on Instagram oh on Instagram all right fair enough I was I was like I was like what sometimes like you look at someone like they like how does he actually communicate with people I I just text my Instagram he's not in the DMS that's that's and uh did you hear from Connor when you signed for four still I haven't really talked I se he commented on the photo yesterday but I haven't I haven't really talking to him uh talked to him a few times on Instagram as well you know but um I don't know I don't know where show up here or what's the story but we'll see you know I seen he's been at a few uh boxing shows with with for St yeah so know you you wouldn't know him like if if he shows up it' be it' be unbelievable but we'll see what happens he's definitely supporting you know he's commenting on the post and so he's definitely shown his support and and I appreciate you know man a man like Connor I presume know he's he's a very busy man like s of that he's taking time to comment on the post and and after giv me that sponsorship too you know it's it's a big help and uh I'm looking forward to to being a good Ambassador for the four drivers though Thursday night see see how many see how many I can drink yeah absolutely it's it's the creamiest de in the game no doubt about it wait wait do you have a what's it called I was texting one The Lads from for St today night and I go it's the only St in the game I don't what the other ones are even called anymore H that's how nice it is but uh yeah I probably I probably won't remember about the other ones after the Thursday night in no it's pretty good make sure to check it out yeah yeah Cal we actually love get getting you back on the toe because uh we love seeing you go from strength to strength um tell us this what has uh what's Tom laughter got in store for for you uh in 2024 because obviously this year has been phenomenal and we're capping it off what a big Big W on uh Thursday night what's 2024 got in store and what's Tom gotten the plans for you no we were just doing few while ago I I found out Tom had they have 10 Fight Pass days for next year so 10 10 they have 10 days for next year so I'll just see how many times I can I can fight you know if I keep coming out clean and and and untouched we'll see how I'll try to break a record you know for as many fights as I can next year and just and get up in them rankings quick and and try to get a world title they have 10 days but obviously I'm not going to be able to fight 10 times unless I don't know unless like M tyon yeah unless I can you know I would if I keep coming out my fights clean uninjured i' would fight all the time and um but yeah they 10 day tell 10 solid days for next year so I'll Pi I'll pick and choose you know and see how many fights we can get in next year and try to try to get up to that world title quick yeah absolutely I suppose one final question on uh on the fight and S things is would you like to come back to Ireland in 2024 i f I'd love it know I I'd love it I have to I have to get home and I have to put on a show back there for for the Irish people you know the people that can't make it out here or the or the people that like cuz New York it's expensive you know to come out here yeah like my family and stuff here now are coming out and it's costing it's costing a nice few pound like so there's people back home don't know that are just working normal jobs that obviously can't afford to come out to the fights so I'd like to just like myself like I was always just a normal just working Villa like and I couldn't I couldn't go to fights so I couldn't afford to to do whatever so yeah I'd like to get home and uh and put on a Big Show in Cork or or wherever you know just for for all the people that can't make and all the young people too you know that that want to see me fight back there so definitely and I know see the thing is right it's hard because between Tom and Dana and and Freddy we're not going to do something small you know it's it's not we're not going to come home and just for the sake of doing it yeah that's the thing Dan Dana is not going to go there and fight pass you know they're not going to go there just for the sake of just putting on small show when we do TJ's not cheap like yeah it's GNA have to be a massive deal like once we go back so I'm I'm pushing for it I'm I'm pushing as hard as I can for it every every every interview I do they're asking me when you coming home when you coming home so I'm I'm pushing for it but it's all about timeing you know I presume Tom Tom has has a plan when he's going to do it and when we do do it it will be a massive show yeah well they're talking about they're talking about UFC Dublin in 2024 so you never know maybe on fight week you could get King fight going on yeah that would be perfect like even like the same thing here like I always TR to fight close to the to the to the UFC shows you know to get the the promotion and then the cross media and stuff and the fans you know the same as the UFC so if they're if they're going to do UFC Dublin 2024 it would make sense for me to to go back and put a show on so I'll push Tom for that now I'll see him in a minute here now and I'll annoy him about it the lad said we have to do we have to do double next year tell Dana you have to do double next year well like they'd love to have they'd love to have you at the event as well like you mean they they want want more more yeah yeah if there's doubling I I'll definitely be there yeah 100% I'll be there even if I'm not fighting I'll definitely I'll definitely be there but if we can push it and get a and get a fight out there as well that would be unbelievable yes just we we'll see with the for St can't have the can ready yeah yeah we'll be
