Nathan Lambert is from Bangor, North Wales, though he's recently moved to Chorley, where he now trains under Kam Atakuru at Subzone Fight Academy. No nickname yet - around the gym, they just call him Lambo. A welterweight through and through, Nathan's been training on and off since he was 14 - going on fifteen years now. His amateur record read 9-4, a four-time champion across four promotions, before turning professional. He's 1-0 as a pro, opening with a finish. He first tried boxing at 13, but MMA took hold almost immediately - since then he's trained across boxing, Muay Thai and jiu-jitsu gyms to refine each discipline. He calls his style "well-rounded and efficient" - dangerous everywhere the fight goes, capable of finishing at any moment. His proudest moment is a close call between two: turning professional and opening with a finish, and becoming a four-time amateur champion - a run that left him, in his own words, "over the moon." His dad introduced him to the sport, and the story is more unusual than most. His father had no combat sports background - he simply loved the classic martial arts films, and off the back of that love took up training himself, only months before bringing Nathan along. They trained together for a spell early on, a period Nathan still looks back on fondly. His influences run deep: Fedor, Cro Cop and Wanderlei Silva on Pride, then Nick Diaz's Strikeforce tape, before landing on Georges St-Pierre as the fighter he'd like to emulate. People often expect intensity and aggression before they meet him. In reality, Nathan's calm, quiet, understated - right up until the cage door shuts. I've seen it myself, watching him prepare backstage at UKFC - no bravado, no theatre, just a fighter locked into the job at hand. He's not chasing a name. His dream matchup is whoever stands across from him for a professional title. In the gym, two names test him most: Oban Elliot - now in the UFC, every bit the savage his record suggests — and Oliver Tero, a problem everywhere the fight goes. Nathan's aiming to close out the year 2-0 as a pro, with a fight targeted for November. Do not miss out! ⭐ FOLLOW @nathanlambertmma
