Today we highlight Tyler Dunne, who represented Team Ireland with incredible grit and determination at the 2026 IMMAF Youth World Championships in Abu Dhabi.

Tyler navigated a tough bracket, securing a clinical victory in his opening bout before narrowly missing out in a hard-fought second fight. While he did not reach the podium today, his performance against elite international opposition proved he belongs among the best in the world.

A special mention goes to his coach and father, Barry Dunne. The bond between a coach and athlete is powerful, but there is something truly unique about a father and son sharing this journey on the world stage. Barry’s guidance and support in the corner have been instrumental in Tyler’s development, and today was another major step forward in his career.

The experience gained in Abu Dhabi is priceless. Tyler returns home with his head held high, ready to take these lessons back to the gym and continue his climb.
