K Legacy 23 Paul Cher here with Barry Kennedy all the way from SLO but he's training out of the MMA gym out in Cork Barry up until this you're up for fight of the night because your fight against shapoo was unbelievable it was tense it was it was ecstatic and it was 100 miles an hour how are you feeling after that win uh the fight was about half an hour ago so I feel better now I calm down a bit so I'm feeling good no injuries so I'm ready to go again in September yeah right right right so tell us what was your preparation like up into this uh not ideal um I got my eye split closed uh two weeks ago like my eye completely swollen shut and then three days ago I to I pulled my hamstring so I was going to pull out with the fight but I I really didn't want to pull out so I just showed up and fall and uh I got the win so happy happy days well for anyone who wasn't here in the warehouse or tuned in at cage legacy.com you were up for fight the night because you gave it your absolute all so we're we're very thankful that you went through with this and you made the right decision how does that make you feel now confidence wise in terms of you you knew your body you're still went for it you could have pulled out but you went for it here tonight yeah I just believed in myself I just said it if you don't fight you never know what could happen so I just believed in myself and I got the win but Sho really good opponent and his chin is crazy like in round two like he was wobbling all over the cage and he just wouldn't go down I was hitting him uper Cuts everything what myself and Browner and uh Phil thought in the commentary was that your shot selection was very very good what was going through your mind during that shot selection well I just wanted to kick his calf I wanted to dead in his leg and that's what I did he he was limping by the second around and just land clean shots to the chin as well so I I land a lot of clean punches so I think all the clean punches were me I let I got a bit lazy I let him hold me against the fence a little bit too much but I knew I landed all the clean shots so I I knew I got the win and tell us what's it like coming from I know it well the village of TOA Curry and sgo to be doing MMA it's not exactly a popular sport in the west of Ireland in from May own myself how do you feel where MMA is going to go now in the west of Ireland um well I actually moved to Cork because there was no MMA in SLO so it's very hard to like it's very hard to achieve it if you're training in a little town you Fe a certain pockets in Ireland that's Su better um yeah like around mayoo there's not the same standard like after move to M cor where you're getting high high standard training like Aaron McGuire Jeff McGuire top level coaches top level training Partners so I don't think this will be possible if I didn't move the cork you know well listen uh sler lost his Cork's game so honestly God Barry I wish you the best of luck and we're just going to see you here at the next Cas all going well congrats again tonight man possibly fight of the night Barry Kennedy thanks to me thanks take care of yourself man thank you
