Excuse me everyone. Welcome back Gladiator Fighting Championship. I have here Mr. Destiny >> Azobe. >> Azobe. >> Yeah. >> First of all, congratulations. >> Thank you. >> Um, big dude. I love seeing the light heavies, the uh the big guys get in there. Um you you guys were just whailing on each other. >> Yeah, definitely. >> Um talk talk to me about like what what was what was your experience in there? Like how do you feel coming out of it? >> Oh like I barely even remember what was going on. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. It was just going in there just fighting just kind of responding to what he was doing. We had like a game plan before and then I ended up eating like like one or two shots and then he kind of just went out the window. >> What was your game plan? >> Just kind of stay at distance just ping him and then defend the takedowns by framing off his shoulders, stuff like that. But I ended up getting held up against the fence for a little bit, you know, and he was a very strong guy, so he's hard to get off, but lots to learn and lots to work on as well. >> Absolutely. Like, uh, so talk to us about like what what what's what was it like being pinned against the cage in the ground against another dude who's so like you how what do you weigh? What did you fight at today? What you weigh? >> Uh, around 98 kg. >> Yeah. >> Big dude. Like what's it like having another dude, you know, penny against the wall and then just try to beat the out of like what like how were you feeling in that moment? >> Just trying not to get taken down. That's really it. Yeah, cuz I got took down the first round. I just didn't want that to happen again. So, I was just fighting for my life just to stay up and not get taken down again and land them little shots as well just to add up on the damage. But yeah, but on the feet though, I felt like I was winning kind of comfortably on the feet when we're just training. So, yeah, >> absolutely. Um, so would would you consider yourself kind of a striker or do you do you kind of prefer to the wrestling or >> I train MMA but I'm a bit more natural when it comes to striking. But we train all of it though. >> Right on. Right on. Um, >> so what was it like? How did you feel going into the second round after you kind of feel you you felt each other out a little bit? Um, like what what was what were you thinking then? Like did did you kind of underestimate him, overestimate him? Like what was the hype? >> No, I didn't know the rest of it at all. Kind of knew what he was going to be like. I didn't expect him to land on me though, like the overhands cuz I've seen a couple of fights before, you know, when he throws the same two shots. But after the first round, I kind of knew that I lost that round. So, I had to step up a bit in the second round, especially when it came to a striking and land some damage on him. So, yeah. >> Right on. Did uh did that decision come a surprise to you? Were you you were you 29 28? Yeah. To win, especially based on damage as well. He was just kind of holding me while I was landing all the damage on the feet as well. So, >> right on. Yeah, I think I'd agree with you there. Um, >> so what what was it like or say? Um, >> when when you're when you were in there and like your decision- making, you know, like your your were you trying something that wasn't working and then how did you switch it up? Yeah, I feel like in the first round I was trying to just trade with him with overhands, you know, but he was a shorter man, so he was able to catch me kind of coming in sometimes. So in the second round, I started to switch sts a bit more using the southpaw as well, especially when he started to fade, you know. I started to switch the south ball, throw the left hand to the body and go like using body shots and stuff. And then kind of stay on the outside and holding the position cuz I can hear my coach shouting in telling me to hold the position instead of crashing him against the fence where he could get close to me. So >> that's just kind of kind of slowing it down in the second and the third round when it came to being on the feet, taking my time with just pick a little power. >> Definitely. Now I you said you were both south. I was going to mention this like is it >> I know I'm orthodox but I switch a lot. I switch the southpaw with the fight >> right. Did you uh like do you would you practice against someone else? Would you spar against another southpaw to try to get that? You know, it's not it's not totally it's not uncommon, but it's not you don't see it all the time where you you get like, you know, two softball stances together like what like >> how do you prepare for that? >> No, I always spar in softball orthodox. I switch the whole time. Yeah. But I'm naturally orthodox, but I always switch my fights cuz it's kind of hard hard to get reads off southpaw, you know? It's hard to fight against a softball, so I always like to switch. >> Okay. Right on. Right on. Um, so what what's what's one thing you're taking out of this like that you're gonna hone or hone in on and uh your training coming up? >> Uh, I need to get my base lower when it comes to being held against the fence. Yeah, I get my base lower and just keep fighting out that positions getting held up against the fence and I learned how to stay a bit better at range when it comes to striking, you know, just picking them apart from a distance. That's really it. So, >> we did very well in there. Um, it looked really good. Um, congratulations. You did a fantastic job. Um, and look, man, until next time. All right. >> Yeah, that's Thank you very much. >> Yeah, absolutely. Um, you want to shout out or say or? >> Uh, shout out to Sand Ninja. Shout out to Darren, Liam, and Shay as well for helping my corner. Yeah. So, yeah. >> Heck yeah. All right. Uh, everyone, make sure you check out, um, Original Animals, uh, Grappling Wear. Um, they're or they were happy enough to sponsor me today and, uh, sponsor a giveaway that I had. So, I really appreciate it. Check them out. Make sure you follow them. uh Original Animals and then check out the website originals.com.uk. All right, man. Appreciate it. Till next time. Okay. >> Thank you. >> Have a good one.
