[Music] okay so it's the first event of the year I have Mr Paul Brown with me black belt you can hear him everywhere all over Irish MMA the breakdowns that he's doing now are unbelievable as well so we're going to do this I'm very excited for you to join me thank you very much for joining me how are you what's the crack bro I'm sitting in me pajamas of a cup of tea and I get to talk show talk show talk fights wait me make so things couldn't be better yeah yeah perfect perfect this is just going to be a casual kind of conversation about it uh we're not going to go through all the fights obviously because there's so many we're going to stick to the main card cage Legacy it's always a fantastic show it's going to be a great show to kick off at 2024 which I think is quite exciting for Irish MMA probably one of the most exciting years in a long time in my opinion yeah yeah I mean the there's aot there's a w of guys just moving into the pro ranks and I did a video recently on it and I know that the guys Ross and baz from the energ show been shining a light on how many guys are actually making the jump now so it's a really exciting time isn't it there's a lot of exciting uh stories and early Pro careers about to unfold and going to see some of them over the next couple of weeks there's a whole lineup of shows about to take place the the MMA scene is bosen yeah it definitely definitely is obviously Conor mccarth is goingon to be making his Pro debut at this we had Max L Gary Rooney there's so many more to come there was so many more last year as well so we're going to get crack and Aussie K lei there's something about cage Legacy there's always an air of craziness about it I love the show um the main event what a guy to get for the main event yeah uh Richie smallen I mean the level this guy has been fighting and competing at over the the last few years is right up there just below the the very very elite so he's been he's been in the mix you know at the the top end of the rankings for Bellator H he competed on The Ultimate Fighter so what a steal for the guys you know I believe he's still contracted to Bellator at the moment um like a lot of guys in that situation there's a little uncertainty as to where he's going to go so this was a chance for him just to get a fight under his belt um I look at that look look at the likes of Richie SM and and like he's 32 years old there's plenty of life left in this career yet you know what I mean I don't think he's reached the Apex of his run he is a very dangerous guy and what I like about him is that he's a good exponent of grappling within mixed martial arts but if you've ever listen to me commentate on a fight where there's a bit of Jiu-Jitsu or a bit of grappling a play you'll know that I love fights or love grappling to be implemented in Jiu-Jitsu with urgency and intent so what Richie does brilliantly is he doesn't lie on his back and play a nice relax lazy style and try and set traps he goes for the Finish he chases it and he's got he's got quite a few he's got seven finish in his 10 professional wins five of those have come by submission he's a guy that will go after your limbs and I love to see that it it makes things really exciting especially at this level this isn't the Bellator cage this is a smaller cage H in a in a really packed little Arena and the atmosphere is going to be insane he's in there with a guy kol madowski an Israeli guy who's very very experienced 17 and 15 record so he's got a lot of fights under his belt he's also fought in Bellator few times and the way I generally decipher what level a guy is at is not by how many fights he's had but by checking out the quality of opposition so this guy has names on his record as I said he's fought in Bellator he's fought once in octagon he's got names on his record like James Gallagher ascar askarov who's in the UFC of course Georgie car Canyon would be Paul Redmond not that long ago Daniel skinsky oi santalady who Rec Rec fought James shean so good good European level competitors good World level competitors guys who have gone on and done good things but Med voski has lost all of those guys he hasn't got a name Victory on his record do you know what I mean the three fights he had on Bellator he lost them the fight he had on octagon he lost so when I look at his record I see a guy that he he does well in the regional scene but when he goes up a level he's found wanting and I think Richie has fought and won against fighters of a higher standard and I think that might continue here I don't know what do you think fight's gonna play out like I I think so I was looking at it theyve 22 finishes between the two of them 15 of them are Subs five of them are Richies and then 10 is for the other but like you said Richie obviously he lost in the UFC but when he come to belor I believe his record is four- two unfortunately he lost his last fight but he seems to rise to the occasion um when it comes to the the bigger shows and he's going to be in Dublin in his hometown um so I can only imagine he's going to go get the wi I can see it I can see this being a good grappling match and like you said once it goes down Richie's aggressive he wants to go and get it and uh I think that's exactly what he's going to do I think Richie smin as well I I don't want to say he gets overlooked but I don't think he gets mentioned as much as he should he's been around a long time he's fought a lot of people um and this is his T like this is in Dublin the crowd is going to be roaring at cage legi I think it's going to be quite a technical fight um I think like you said Richie's with the name victories he's all he was also a double champ in I think it was real fight promotions um so yes Ukraine wasn't it yeah it was Ukraine and then obviously what happened there he he ended up back in Bellator and he came back with a win and then a loss but I think like he's got like I was talking about name victories Richie's got them he's beaten the likes of Harry Hardwick P nilki who's really skilled fighter he did lose that last one against Krav but he was on a five fight win streak in the lead up to that so I think this is a guy who's in his prime right now and I think I I think Richie is gonna go out and and really stamp his authority on this one yeah I think so and especially being in Duan I can they I can't see this going to distance I can't see it going to distance I think Richie's going to go in he's going to be aggressive and like you said he's going to hunt he's not going to look for position or move position he's going to look for a limb he's going to look an arm he's going to look for a neck and he's going to try and take one of them especially in front of that crowd yeah these guys are about like credentials Jiu-Jitsu black belts lots of submission wins like you said your man has 10 of them loads of them are Guillotines and arm triangles I don't think Richie is G I mean I roll Richie recently for the first time just to get an idea of how good the guy actually is you know and he's uh Richie is the top guy and he's he's a very very good MMA Grappler he really you know as I said he on urgency and intent he's there to fit he's there to chase that finish and he doesn't you're not going to catch him very easily he's he's competed at a much higher level than this guy or he's won as I said he's won fight at a much higher level than this guy and yeah I'm really excited to see it it's going to be a good night you know he's going to bring a big crowd he always brings a big crowd especially H with this one being uh being here and not over in Eastern Europe you know yeah and I say it's going to be nice for him to come back and have that and like you said what a coup for the boys to get like this like when it was announced withy smen I was like obviously like said Bellator you still signed I was like how did Dean pull this off but where where does a will does a way with Dean kind of yeah yeah yeah what a what a name to top to courage you know um I think the atmosphere will be electric but filling these cards up with with professional fighters at the top now as we mentioned before a lot of guys are going pro and what we're seeing here is we're seeing a handful of pro fights on the main card here same again on the next cage like card which is only just over a month away cage conflict have a fight the week after a card the week after this one with a lot of pro fights on their main card as well so there's a lot of young Pros now that just need they need slots and it's great to see um those opportunities being provided here at home for them to build their names some of these guys like Richie obviously is an experienced one but some of these guys like we're talking about we're going to talk shortly about Conor McCarthy and Gori gav those guys are going to be able to build you know 2 and0 three and0 record before then Hawking themselves to uh one of those uh maybe midsize promotions on the European or World scene and it's great for them to have the opportunity to do that you know yeah no 100 and it's good to see them fight at home and maybe like I said get two or three fights here and then go on um because the the opt not that the options weren't there there was very few and far between but the scenes booming right now and once they leave the the regional Iris scene as well there's so many more options like will FL just signed to octagon Dennis Fring pong's there herek AR MacDonald uh pfl and Bellator merger as well so there's so many more options J Burns to Brave like there's so many options for them but it's good to be able to see them we've watched them it's good to see them fight from uh fight at home and then watch their career as it goes on yeah yeah some really good stories unfolding you know the the co-main event now that's the the start of a big um I think a what's going to be an impressive journey through the professional ranks like Conor McCarthy him and gorgi gav who are the next two fights on the card those two guys are two of the standout performers on the amateur scene over the last couple of years and of course You' know these guys well because you put so much work and time into all the fighters on the amateur scene H Connor this a good slot for Connor to make his Pro debut in he's got a guy in front of him with h seven professional fights already hael Gomez and the guy hasn't got a winning record but it's a it's a good test for someone to make their Pro debut like a highly skilled fighter like Connor to make their Pro debut win Conor's record FR who does no Connor his record over the last two years it was September 21 to September 23 was his am the span of his amateur career it's 11 and two his only defeats he lost a a close decision to Colin Marian Nationals a couple years back and he lost a fight to Alex Aston at the automs and he beat everybody else seven decision wins four stoppages no submissions yet but I mean he's strong Grappler we've seen great defensive wrestling out of Conor and he uses all of that to to Showcase his boxing I think his boxing is some of the best I've ever seen at amateur mix martial arts in this country the the accuracy the speed the the combination's just phenomenal you know and the he had a five fight win streak to close out his amateur career titles Left Right Center title defenses and we were talking off air earlier about all the guys that he's beaten like we look at the names of guys that he's got wins over Jess poo Roman David Shay Le them that clinic over five rounds against Connor Nolan H the head kick against Nathan mcgillian the win over Sam Simon who's you know he's won two belts in other promotions those are massive wins those are the the biggest tests you can come through on the amateur scene to prepare yourself for the professional scene so I think this guy is going in there more than ready to handle most young Pros I think it's going to be very exciting to see how his his career plays out over those first five fights yeah like you said the names there Sam Simon is double champ Nathan was a a champ um and he also stepped up in the Super cup he was in the first ever super cup he been the only one since it was supposed to be yearly thing I think he went up to middleweight and he fought and he won there as well um because I think hon Clemens injured himself he had to step in and you've seen you've seen um uh you've seen his performance like you said Sam Simon double champ and Conor noan that was a clinic that wasn't a absolute Clinic um he's had a you can see him improved like but he came up against Jess Jess everyone thought Jess was going to out wrestle him but he said like I said the good defense and everything else he just got better and he's so elusive as well he goes in with the one twos everyone knows what's coming um but they just can't they just can't seem to stop him with it and he is if he keeps going the way he's going his trajectory he's going to go to the top yeah he's very tidy like his his hands and speed his combinations everything looks tidy precise accurate you don't see a lot of Fighters with that level of uh just pretty boxing in at that level of mixed martial arts you know um he uses up shots upstairs to set up body shots he's got great angles he's got really good footwork and look at the guys he trains with I mean when you're coming out of SBG nice even though he's not running around taking guys down and beating them up on the ground does not mean he can't wrestle we've seen him use that counter wrestling brilliantly in a lot of fights and he's going to be hard to handle for a lot of guys this opponent Rafael or Rafael Gomez a Brazilian guy he's been fighting out of Portugal over the last couple of fights H I think it was his last two fights were in Portugal he's two and five his two fights that he won were in 2018 and 2019 he's on a four fight skid since so he's a bit older than Conor he's 27 I think Conor's still in his early 20s Connor still just finishing college now so you know we have that bit more experience but I think skill-wise talent wise ability wise I think Connor is going to be ahead of him but you can't discount you know the wealth of experience that this guy is bringing in Connor is GNA have to be on his game to to to Really make sure he gets the job done yeah because it's got to be different rad sets obviously you've got the elbows you've got the knees you've got the five minute rounds so he's been there done that and like you said like you said this is Conor going into that and that experience might count for something but like you said the talent of Conor McCarthy is absolutely fantastic and like said the guys he trains with he's just going to get better and better and better and it's a pleasure be a to see him H in Dublin at cage leg because I know he always wanted he wanted to fight more in Dublin but because of the day of weighing with uh amateur rules in Irish MMA he didn't really fight as much he fought more up nor in I so or your before Dey M and kills me um so I think he always brings the crowd wherever he went he brought a crowd though didn't he so I can imagine what it's going to be like when it's only what half an hour up the road yeah the atmosphere is going to be banging and um we were in that that venue for Premier MMA a couple of months ago and it's the crowd is right in against the cage and I think it's going to be electric you know it's going to be uh with Richie in the main event and him in the co-main you can imagine there's going to be really good numbers in the in the room for for those fights so I'm really excited I'm really excited just to be in the cage and get to announce the guys and feel the balls for that one yeah and how does it feel for you I've watched Connor kind of from the start he started at your Fighting Championship um I've kind of watched his career till now how is it for you to commentate on these guys and see them making that leap yeah always it's it's great I um I love announc I love being in the middle for these fights on the the big nights where you get to announce them in the atmosphere is bang and I love that it's a rush but the commentary thing is great because you're you're basically having to watch these guys really intently and break down how how what they're doing and then when you're doing when you're commentating on them repeatedly you're trying to explain to the audience how these guys are developing as Fighters so yeah it's fascinating and you know I've told Connor myself he I think he's one of the best I've seen like on the the whole thing if someone asked me anytime over the last kind of six months who's the best amateur fighter in Ireland Connor would be the first name to roll off me tongue you know what I mean and especially since Max L went pro and there's no real discussion then then there's other guys that have come into that mix like T and locker and made massive jumps in ail over the last kind of six months and then all of a sudden he enters that conversation and you forget about Kei kyod and he's right there as well he's an insanely good record so yeah we're spoiled for talent really you know so it's h as I said that watching these guys make that next leap now it's it's it's a really exciting time yeah there's so many like you said Tian I think it was between tan and Conor for fight of the year on energized I believe I can't remember who exactly won it but I think they were the top two and like you said he Jo because he was not that he was inactive he was injured after the IMs last year um and it's mma's kind of you get forgotten about quite quickly and then when you come back like that Kiko so good but not that people forgot about him but he was just quiet for a while and hopefully his Pro debut is going to be coming quite soon we're waiting to hear our news on that so yeah we've got so many good fights coming through without a doubt H the next fight on the card then is also a pro debut and this guy I mean you were talking talking about there guys that people kind of forget about or maybe just fly under the radar a little bit this guy definitely does Gori gav so Jor is just a quiet nice guy but in the cage he's a sensational fighter I think he's I think he's really outstanding he was basically a situation where nobody would fight him so he made the jump to Pro and I think I I lo I can't even remember what was coach Patty hulahan told me about how many people turned that fight down they just couldn't get him matched he in the same situation Max L is in making a pro debut so Pros with a a strong record aren't going to look down and and you know take that risk it's an awful gamble fight fighting someone with no wins on the record you've nothing to gain um gorgi for amateur from August 21 to June 23 so again a relatively short amateur career he went seven- two he went one- two over the first couple and I remember picking Patty's brain because I was kind to commentate one of his early fights and I think it was fourth fight I said Patty what's this guy like because I I hadn't met him at that stage Patty said look he's a really good wrestler and he's working hard on developing the rest of his game Bo Jesus did he develop the rest of it like if you saw saw him fight over the last while he went on a six fight win streak after that um he's won belt in cage Legacy and eure and he won title fights against Fufu farz moraru gorg and Elvis lcov to finish off his amateur career that's insane you know uh two fights last year in February against Maru and he fought LC in June and now he's back after a bit of a break the the fight he had against Fufu was a really exciting one I believe he was quite sick in the lead up to that I think was flu or something so he sort of struggled a little bit cardio-wise which is very unlike him because he's in he's an insanely H conditioned athlete um he's a real handful I've been on the mats with him a few times and I've rolled with him and like for a small guy he's insanely strong he's Dynamic and he's got submissions he's got really good submissions to to to go with that that exceptional wrestling his hands his footwork have really improved he works diligently on that so I'm excited to see what he can do and where he can end up as well you know he's a really exciting prospect yeah like said I think a lot of these guys that are quiet do get forgotten about but we obviously would take a close eye on him and he's like said he's improved so much I think he does a lot of boxing I want to say it's a kronman that he boxes in sometimes that he does pads I want to say um and this break from June on until now this isn't because he wanted it I was sending Paddy people looking for Banton weight 0 0 one and zero and paty just kept saying people kept coming back saying no he's too good because his amateur they probably looked at his amateur record who he who he fought who he bet like l l was tearing through that Division and he's so strong and then he beat L like said um Maru uh I think it's unlucky not to have I think his record doesn't do him Justice to how good he was he was unbeaten until uh he lost to Georgie uh yeah yeah he's an exceptional fighter and he's very underrated you know he lost I think he drew didn't he draw one fight um on and if there was a point deducted he made a silly foul and you know he could have got the win there he was lucky to lose it decision on cage conflict and then that first round against Gary Rooney was just one of the best rounds I've ever seen on on Irish soil so he he like I talked to him and he knows how good I think he is you know so I think he's like one and two or one and three or something like that gone going forward as a pro but Jesus Christ he's he's a real test and gorig girl have beat him kind of comfortably which was insane to really watch you know yeah no he's just got better and like you said he was good at the wrestling then the submission start coming into play now his footwork and his boxing is coming into play it's all coming together had he actually said recently this version would smash the last version that that of himself that he fought so this is going to be really interesting fight and it's one that I've been looking forward to he's got an opponent in front of him that a lot of people aren't going to know so this guy is training with Richie Ivory and his his name is Aaron zagi Iron Man He's from Hungary he had three MMA bels his Pro record is one and two here's the thing he's 27 but his three MMA voutes took place when he was a teenager so he hasn't fought MMA in quite a long time now in that interim period he's had 14 pro boxing fights he's a two-time Hungarian K1 champ two-time Kempo Jor World Champ so I think that was quite a long time ago two-time Hungarian Muay Tha champ um he started training with Richie four months ago um so Richie basically in the process of trying to round out this guy's game but by all accounts he's a really Dynamic Striker so I think you're going to see a wrestler versus Striker kind of match up here the small cage is going to make it difficult for this guy so he's going to have to be on his bike he's going to have to get gav's respect you're it's it's going to be tough in there gav is very very strong very very good at closing the distance uh but an interesting Clash of styles you know yeah it is and the fact that he hasn't fought since he's a teenager like how can you you can you even look at tape and go and take that fighter as it was then to what he is now like how much different is he going to be um like he's you see amateur Fighters I know he's not an amateur but you see amateur Fighters and proove fight on fight he could be completely different to what you may be able to find on him so and the fact that he's fought myay Tha and stuff as well and everything like said the small cage always favors the Grapplers so it's going to be an exciting one it's going to be an exciting one yeah without a doubt I mean if you're going to be coming back after a long layoff from the sport stepping into a small cage like that against Gori gav I mean the the the balls on this L you know fair play to him but um yeah interesting fight you know and before that one runs in we've got uh I think there's three amateur fights on the card before the pro fights begin so two of them are title fights one of them that's up for grabs is an interesting one the Welterweight Title so we've got rany of SBG who's in there three in one record the belt holder isn't he at the moment so yeah um ran all four of his fights have been on cage Legacy he was fighting on cage Legacy 15 16 17 and 19 so he missed one but he's been fairly consistent on the the cage Legacy pay-per-views go through his wins he beat Mar Curtis in his debut by TKO he lost a fight to Shay Leon by decision shortly after and then he's W two fights against n hooker and Jack Newman since uses his wrestling to Great affect this guy he's very very physically strong um really supremely conditioned and it makes no bounds about it he's going to try and close the distance and get a hold of Alex Fagan who's coming in there Alex is coming in on a three and four record his first five bouts if you've seen him fight before you you probably have heard me talk about this guy one and four was his record over the first five fights but he was fighting really really good tests guys that he lost to credential Fighters Jordan Scully Jake Gilpin Dey Harrison guys that are going out there and putting on exceptional performances on The Amateur circuit he lost H some very close fights to those guys so the the one and four record that he was going around with wasn't really a good reflection of his skill level I thought he was in some brilliant fights particularly the one with Jake Gilpin I I mean I could watch 10 more rounds of that one I thought it was excellent two guys are very technical Strikers he's won his last two he submitted Nicolai shapu off his back with a beautiful armar in the second round and then he had a first round TKO over Paul Fitzgerald I think that was a knee wasn't it to the midsection or the liver a KN or yeah to the liver and it just yeah like those are good guys that he's beaten there as well so he's kind of at a stage now where he's the results are showing you know he's been putting in the work he hasn't been disheartened by a handful of defeats and I think he's a dangerous fighter as I said he's a very skillful Striker uh he's very very dangerous off his back as we saw in that that win over shopu who's shopu is a handful especially when he gets you down he gets into that scar fold position H I think Fagan could be problematic for Rano flarity you know so if Ran's going to be intent on getting a hold of this guy and taking him down going to have a hard time Fagan moves so so well fights really well at about stance and he's as I said he's a danger off his back so I think that's again just a tasty matchup I can't wait to see this one yeah it is very very good like you said he's good off his back and he's good strik and if you look at Ran's opponents though they're all strike Jack Newman um and N tooker they're all kickbox and they're all striking or so he was able to deal with them he was able to figure out those puzzles I know he lost the shade but I believe he survived a was it a head kick at one stage as well I think Shay sent him back into the cage um yeah a banger yeah yeah so if he can figure out this puzzle and how to avoid those strikes but then Alex I spoke to Alex yesterday Alex said he's ready to go to the he say he's going to try and strike with him in the first round but if he wants to go to the ground with him he's going to go to the ground with him he said he's going to be comfortable everywhere so it is an interesting fight with it being on cage legy obviously Alex is for on mostly up North so he's he's fought at lightweight this is' coming in at a weight that he's comfortable at fighting do you think that'll make much of a difference because Alex is obviously going upper weight but he just doesn't have the cut weight now so I don't know how much of a difference would that make but that make Alex actually fresher than he usually would be than having the cut we it's gonna be interesting to see how they Square it up physically you know so I'm looking forward to seeing what they look like in the cage re re re's a bit of a a gorilla like he's he's a tank of a guy you know and he's he's very strong with that big physique so um yeah just be interesting to see what they what they look like when they lock up uh Alex is very well-rounded I think he's got good skills everywhere H so he'd be a test for rain you know re's got one thing on his mind get a hold of him get him down ground and pound you know he's uh he's not down on the ground trying to play Fancy jiu-ju he's down there trying to beat you into submission so um it's just a great Clash of styles Bring It On can't wait good title fights are are are always exciting the one that's happened on the car just before that is H that this one's got Insanity written all over it we were promised this one I think of couple of cards ago for cage Legacy and it fell out H but we're here at a bantamweight title between Fufu farz and Jake NY and both guys I I'm just praying the grappling fan and me is hoping that this one hits the floor um I think both guys are Sensational on the ground farz coming in with a six and five record I think there's a no contest in there as well he's got three submission wins beautiful triangle armar which I think was on cage Legacy was it before maybe it was on verus and then he has a a couple of rear naked chokes as well so he he's really really dangerous um he's lost a couple by submission as well so you know he gambles he takes chances and you know he he he can catch it or he can be caught in those positions um I think it was a split decision against AE kinsela where he got the belt that was the fight that Jake NY fell out of and he put on a really good striking display in that one uh for both Fighters coming into this one there's actually a handful of Fighters I think there's the the first four four fighters on the main card it's all their first fight since the imfs in November so when the imaf took place in November a lot of guys just took some downtime after that of course then there was no cards and this is the first one back so that these two Bantam weights and the two Floy weights that are going to open the card are all in the same bat they're making their first appearance since a defeat at the IMF so it's a chance to get back in the win column Jake n of course who's his opponent for submission wins out of his 10 wins so he's a 10 and three record he's very young and he's building up a massive wealth of experience continuously competing at IMA level three rear naker chokes and a too platter on that list of wins uh the tarica plada is is it's gone down in Irish MMA history now as one of those just unique uniquely beautiful moments H that was that yeah yeah it was fun it was fun just uh being on the spot and actually knowing what was going on was not so many people probably would but um I was just drilling to PL is in the gym with a train partner this evening actually but uh cuz sitting down doing me notes today was Mak was was uh I just left it on my head so I wanted to practice a couple but uh yeah again he lost in November at the imaf so he's looking to get back in the win column he's actually unbeaten on Irish soil so he's 10 as I said he's 10 and three but his defeats have come at World level Elite level but no no one's beaten him on the domestic scene yet and I think Fufu farz is going to have a big test in front of him here like farz has a good record too like six and five I don't think he's beaten he's beaten a fighter of Jake NY caliber yet so he'll be out to he'll be out to basically claim that that that that shine now you know by by taking out Jake no it's going to be a tough test as I said I hope this one hits the floor because the two guys are so so good at creating submission opportunities so it'll be interesting to see what happens if it does yeah it's when you go to the ground with them it's it's kill or be killed um so H with Fufu when you look at his losses though like I said it's jorie who's actually on the card Elvis lco and there's a couple of others in there as well uh they both he's been tested for sure hasn't he he's he's gone in against some really good Fighters yeah they both like the IMF competitions they've both been in the Nationalist they've both been uh Fufu actually was gold at was he gold at uh the four nations sorry yes he was yeah and that was actually him and AE and that's why the rematch happened then on cage Legacy as as well fuu both both were bangers both were really good fights weren't they against AEM kinsa that second one and AEM like that was only I believe his second or third fight at amateur he what a prospect he is yeah like what's what's he gonna look like when he's got the same amount of fights under his belt that Jake n has now like Jake n has 13 fights under his belt and he's what what is he 20 years of age or something you know some of these some of these kids coming through are ridiculous you know because when he actually got silver at the imass he had to fight like four or five times to get there it was I'm pretty sure it was a deep it was about four times to get where he was you know sometimes you might only have to fight once or twice he had to fight four five like over the space a day so and like said he's very exciting not the both very exciting not this like you said people look at fights like this and they don't like when they go to the ground but obviously you being BJJ black belt you're looking at this going this this is going to the ground and I'm gonna love it oh tasty matchup yeah yeah bring it on I love watching entertaining Grapplers in MMA and especially at the amateur level like at the when you go higher into the pro ranks you don't really see people relying on Jiu-Jitsu as much like you need to know how to defend things and Escape things but it's very difficult to create submission opportunities in the space of five minutes against a high level H fighter but at amateur level it's like when you're watching Jiu-Jitsu competition the blue belt and purple belt matches are are the most crack because people aren't as reserved or cautious or they're not as secure defensively you know they don't they haven't built up those years and years of uh knowhow and experience so they're they're not good at just shutting the game down so they just go at and it get it gets crazy so these two guys are are really exciting Dynamic Grapplers and they they're good at like jumping on submissions so I'm H I'm excited I'm really excited for this one yeah I'm expecting a lot of back and forth a lot of switching positions I think this is going to be a good exciting one on the ground it's the the two of them are fantastic and this is this is one I'm really looking forward to cuz I know they both really want this fight because the last one fell out yeah yeah it's an absolute cracker and of course the belt is up for grabs H the opener for the card then is going to be wild too as I said it's a Flyway fight an amateur Flyway fight but two really really again exciting Fighters Kean mccarten vbg coming in with a four- six record Henry Le of sea coming in with a three and0 record now we're going to look at Kane record first and if this is this is some wild like four and six but he's got three submission wins he got a flying armar win which was late enough in the fight over Shay Cleland now if you look at what Shay Cleland has done on the domestic scene since he's elevated himself to position where he's probably one of the top couple of flyweights in the country so that's a really impressive win Ken also has four submission defeats talking about guys that Gamble and take chances on the map this guy does it you know he'll either tap you out or he'll get tapped out but think about those submission defeats I mean again I spoke earlier about looking at the names that people have fought Aaron Henry Damen mcgan Kieran kougan like I wouldn't fight any of those guys you know what I mean they're they are so so dangerous Ken's been in there with anyone and everyone the flyweight division in this country is insane the level of talent these guys are so lucky because you're going to like you're gonna have a record like this where you have wins and losses but by the time you've racked up 15 amateur fights and you're going pro you will have been tested by some really really dangerous Fighters you know um this guy again he hasn't fought since the omfs in November four and six but you know don't blink if the fight hits the M he's he's lethal you know his opponent a lot of people might not know um his opponent very well Henry Lea I was blown away by Henry Lea in his victory over Glenn scroggy at verus last August prior to that he won he won a decision over Shay Cleland at the Nationals early last year again that's one that's one thing I noticed when I was looking at these two they both have a victory and Jay is about to fight Daman which is considered probably one of the most exciting Flyway fights you can make it's insane like I think this division in the country you know what I'm thinking I might I might actually do a little video on the on the flyweight the depth of talent there because some of the fighters are absolutely insane um shout out to little r m palar and Henry's over the other side of the world upskilling he's going to come back and take on a lot of these guys again I mean there's some absolute killers there so Henry's got that win over sh kelen which was in his debut last match then he absolutely dominated just overpowered Glenn scroggy a ferus and I was blown away by how good he was scroggy was doing a lot of the right things to try and survive and Escape but this guy just seemed to have that you know that that that overwhelming physical strength that some people carry into a weight class he won his first match at the imfs by guillotine High elbow Guillotine at the imfs in November but he missed weight yeah the next day and he had to drop out his dqes so this is his first chance to get back since um interesting you know just interesting he's he's pring out at the moment so he's been an Unstoppable Force so far does Kean mccarton have enough in the tank to put him away or is he going to get submitted it's it's h it's a wild one to open the card so I think I think it's a great selection as well the running order I love here as well you've got that one opening the card then the two amateur uh Pro fights and then we we're into the pro sorry amateur title fights and then we're into the pro ranks to close out the card so the the running order is great I think uh I think this one though the flyweight fight as always I love flyweight fights it's going to be it's going to be a banger it's m remember years ago people wanted to see the heavyweights now you want to see the fly everyone wants to see the flyweights because of how technical they are Henry like you said with the WIS he's had he trains with Jake Knight he trains with Kiko he chains with Jordan bradar Ross kley he chains with all these people our CAC um and then when like you said with Keane he fought Damen mcgan who he had deep in an armar because Damen said it was quite deep and then Damian took the opportunity to switch it and then I think he did he re naked choke him I believe um but like I said he's been in there he's a gold medalist at the Euros as well this is he's killer be killed with Shay it looked like Shay was walking him down in that fight and he just threw up the flying armar and it was that was I remember watching that I think I have it on camera as well somewhere on my camera all and uh yeah like you said you're just going to start off with a banger and it's just going to be continue to be Banger and Banger and Banger like this main card is unbelievable and to be topped by Richie at the end is just like the cherry on top yeah yeah big big uh big night of fights there's some exciting matchups on it there's a strong undercard but I think yeah the names on on this main card make it really jump out you know and I'm liking uh I'm liking the lineups and the matchups that I'm seeing on the domestic scene over the next few weeks we've got as I said we've got cage conflict don't we the week after discard and then we've got eor the week after that I think then we're only a couple of weeks removed from Premier uh down in Kenny and then we're not far away from uh another I think there's another cage Legacy the one with Max L fighting on the main card and then we're we're we're a couple of weeks out from cage Warriors Dublin so there's a a huge run of really exciting cards coming up and just I think if you're a fighter
