[Music] oh aund Grand next week that's what I want 100K but I went to watch UFC when McGregor was against Brandel in Dublin and Patty hillan was on the card I used to got school Patty hillan I remember seeing him on the night and like I'm not going to L was there likeing basically and I seen Patty hillan there and I was like we know him like I was like and he's in the UFC I was like should go know him I like looked then and then I remember chatting to him all after and he's like oh you should have kept training and stuff like that and I start training Brazilian ji- Jitsu at Wayne  little n Ken start training start training going to shows fighting in UK and stuff like that and then we just ended up saying you know what we can do that we can put on a we can actually do that oursel and host our own show and do like better videos like we were going to shows where like there was no promo there was no there was nothing really and we were like we can do that so that's where cage like came out we done a couple of K1 fights first cuz I used to have a gym called full power gym and Dr so we've done a few K1 fight nights and then after that we went straight into the [Music] m so MC out here introd I'm involved with cage Legacy because it's the the first show that actually gave me a shot to be actual cide media I give the lads a shout and they were like yeah 100% come down and do the next one and I came down and it was the one where it was uh jump and Troy Gibson um for the Coan and and Sh banan I think it was her last amateur fight so because it was such a huge buzz in in in this same venue I just was like this is absolutely electric was just like this is amazing like being able to go in and out of the warm-up rooms in between fights and be cide getting in the cage after afterwards taking pictures for me cage leg I say cement it this is something I want to do as a career less than two years down the line it's a full-time job I wouldn't Miss kids Legacy for any other show it's like 3 and 1 half hour drive away I'm right up on the North Coast of Ireland like so there's there's nothing would put me off coming down there cage Legacy so the card could have all novice debuts on it I'd be like yeah I'm there there go Sonic get me down there I'll be there C [Applause] side my name is Derek hickey um I'm an M referee and judge i' been working with cage Legacy ma since cage Legacy 1 six or 7 years ago cage Legacy it's it's where I I started my officiating I refed my first fight on cage Legacy 2 I judged my first professional fight on cage Legacy 1 and it's given me a huge amount of experience um over the years and it's it's something that I feel that I I owe back it's important there's not there's not a lot of promoters out there that are willing to put their time risk their money to run these shows within Ireland and I think it's important to support and to do what we can for shows such as cage Legacy who's been around for so long I think the thing about cage Legacy that really stands out is just what they're trying to do you know they're always looking to improve they're always looking to get better and you have to admire that about them so we are the cuts team we will look after the fighters um we'll wrap their hands before the fight um during the fight we'll grease them up will if any Cuts or damage that they receive will treat it in between RS uh so cage Legacy is probably the most important promotion that there is um South of the Border um it gives RIS and stars a chance to H their craft to get in the cage to compete and it's run by Dollar deck who is a complete madman and his energy just carries through the whole event you can tell from start to finish that it's a dollar deck show these shows are so well run that we really don't have that much to do we we show up on time the fighters are here we wrap their hands and then we'll we'll be the kid side most of the fighters that are fighting here know us from working with us throughout the years so and the coaches as well so they just let us do our job and things run really smoothly I think I think the most memorable one was the first first professional fight I ever done it was uh Peter quy and Dey Dalton and it was originally Dey D to go against Norman Park who was X UFC fighter at the time Norman Park got injured so then what we done was we got Peter quy from SBG headquarters ended up taking the foot so it was pet qu against Dey D in the main event first pro fight I remember giving two 108 rounds one each way and I was considering giving a third 108 round but I was a bit nervous to throw three 108 rounds on a scorecard and I went safely and I put a 109 but I just remember the fight being so competitive and probably one of the the the fights that I always remember on cage Legacy and the lead up to it was kind of it was exciting it was hectic but it was exciting but I'm actually so glad we done it cuz now look at where we are today over that you know what I mean so like like a lot of people within Ireland and with the m Community C Legacy has been around it's pretty much the the only promotion that has stood the kind of the time period within Ireland seven8 nine years um it's where a lot of us gained our experience it's where a lot of us got our first you know um first fight the ref first fights The Judge first fights the fight on and and you have to have loyalty you have to have loyalty to your gym you have to have loyalty to your your coaches and you have to have loyalty to Promotions that have helped you and helped you grow and I think that's I I stand with a lot of people with you know giving my time back and and and doing what I think C Legacy deserves whether you are a guy that's sitting at home right now and you want to get into D and events or boxing events or anything of the sort join your local MMA gym and start training Brazilian jiu-jitsu it will change your life it would be one of the best things that you ever done you come to the show tonight and if you like it in any sort of way or it's your team join your local MMA gym doesn't matter what gym it is they're all great coaches and great people if you you want to do it and you Vision to do that and you say that that's what you're doing you're going to do it so all you we're talking about for now I want to get on the Kacy card say you want to get on it aim for it believe it yourself make that as in you are on the card contact us we'll get you on the card and then the rest the rest is easy do you get me once you have your once you have your debut I think you fall in love with the game anyway regardless so I'm a big fan of like WWE and stuff I was grown up I was a major wrestling fan I still kind arm I would like really watch live events around but i' watched the old stuff like 1992 Royal Rumble little bit of Ric Flair and all so I still have that where it gives me a bit of nostalgia but for the entertainment side I think it's very important and it's very good to have the fers who want to entertain the fans and who do like [Music] that [Music] n [Music] [Applause] I want my kids that when they grow up to think that their dad was not a waster so I want my kids to be able to grow up and go no matter what they hear or no matter what they get told by anybody that they know that like I'm not out there you know what I mean the things that like criminal things or any bad things around like that they can go my dad actually done that and he built that and then they can have that when they grow up so that's the thing that gives me to drive everybody out now if you're not to be in this room get the fu out of it
