Fansview MMA speaks with Jack Corr during fight week ahead of his second professional bout, the main event on his father’s Cage Gladiator show in North Belfast—a home card for ZKJ the gym with a record twelve gym fighters on the bill. Corr describes an intense camp built around long Shark Tank sparring days with deep roster depth, name-checking teammates Kay Masi on the card, Jason Shran after Cage Conflict, and Michael Mc’s successful short-notice amateur debut. He frames the bout as a family-linked homecoming near his old school, recalls going pro on roughly four weeks’ notice last time, and says this camp has prioritized five-minute rounds, elbows, and pro gloves. Corr says he rarely studies opponents, expects Mikey at his best despite a long layoff, and prefers big crowds to the flat atmosphere of IMMAF-style tournaments. Looking past the weekend, he plans a busier 2025 with at least three and maybe four fights, more Cage Gladiator dates, a bulk over Christmas, a January cut, and a first outing around April, while thanking sponsors Angel Flur, Olympus Roofing Solutions, Bespoke Barber Shop, Can I Export Belfast, and Flex Communications/Bobby Shephard.

[Music] okay so I'm here with Jack H who's approaching his second professional MMA fight he's G be fighting on cage Gladiator it's going to be this weekend it's a show obviously it's gonna be a home show it's gonna be run by his father um it's fantastic to have another promotion it's fight week thank you very much for joining me I appreciate your time how are you feeling with fight week feeling bosing just ready to go now like uh all the hard work's done been a great great training camp uh little the voice from the gymer on this so there's been plenty of bodies in the gym you know uh I think 12 from our gymer competing on this which probably the most our gyms ever had on One show so and we've had boys you know on shows either side of it so the Gym's been packed with boys fighting so there's been no easy rounds and everyone's been pushing each other on so just buzz them the go now and obviously with that many being Hest Y what is the atmosphere like I can only imagine it's electric especially I know this week's more of a wind down week uh just kind of a few technical things no heavy spam but what's it like coming up to an event with that many fighters on it what's what's the atmosphere like in the gym yeah it's great you know other times like the last few fights I've had I've been the only one sort of fighting from the gym on the card and like like the last one I fought on there was a good few people from the gym fighting maybe a couple weeks before or after or whatever but you know the last week like I don't mind either way but it's it's better to have you know company when everyone's that away everyone's training hard you know even like um our hard rounds like our Shark Tank days where we would like be the hardest rounds of Spar during this Camp it's been great because it's pretty much been a whole day so each person we do it individually and then you'd keep swapping around so like you know 12 boys doing that I would always be last as well and it would be it would be good crack like just watch them boys getting better every week and by the time I Shark Tank rounds came around because of pro five minutes some people were like this is going on for ages you know you're there all day like but it's been great to have loads of people pushing you on like so yeah obviously with that with the gym the gym is really the talent coming out of the gym at the minute is is fantastic you can see like there's a batch of of new Fighters kind of coming out they've had maybe one two fights and a lot of lads that still haven't really fought as well what's it like being part of that in the gyman and like you said watching them improve and then seeing them come of age on shows like cage conflict stuff like that like just talk to us about what it's like being in the gym and watching these talents come true yeah it's it's great it's great for me as well it's great for me as a competitor you know that side of it because in the gym my rounds have just been getting tougher and you know especially for this this training camp you know this is the best rounds I've had in the gym in terms of like bodies pushing me you know maybe in the past like before Co maybe when I was fighting there was one or two or three people pushing me you know like people like K braz and my brother Carl mcnali boys like that were push me but postco we so many young guys who are coming on guys like K masi who's fighting on this card as well top rounds boys like Jason shran who fought on Kos conflict the other week brilliant having him same weight a lot of b withs and a lot of boys later or the same we as Me Bon with really pushing me um so it's great it's great to have you know a lot of boys and then you see boys from our gym who are having making their debuts and boys who have had like four fights and winning on like two weeks notice on like he has conflict there the other week you know boys like that who people don't even know in our gym who are pushing me hard like so it's it's great for me you know I have full confidence in the boys I'm training with you know are pushing me as hard as I'm going to get so it's great it's great in that way like yeah no there was one guy I can't remember H forgive me but he was fantastic actually on case conflict it was his debut he came in I don't know did he get the last case conflict Michael Michael MC from our gym he now he he won decision yeah but he looked really really good and it was his amateur debut I believe wasn't it yeah yeah he had an nous he had an nous fight a while ago um he just doesn't speak at all in the gym so he's hard to organize for fights like but my dad was my dad was saying it's probably uh it's probably better having you know short notice fights because we don't have the there's not much organization goes into it as much as like a f councel right here you're fighting two weeks like and worked well for him look yeah no I like that you see at all the shows I see you're there either yourself EMT your F Well your father's always there and either yourself or EMT or or the both of you as well with this show coming up what does it mean obviously to be the first pro fight on it the main event uh you're going to be par history with the show what does that kind of mean to you as a person and as a fighter and obviously because it's it's LinkedIn with family yeah yeah it's going to be great you know me and EM we fought at the a offs together like but we haven't fought on an actual like C in Ireland together um so that's going to be really good um you know both of us pushing each other and training again and fighting on the same show so that's going to be class um it's a real home show for us as well you know know there's other shows in Belfast like West Belfast and you know South Belfast or whatever but this is like this is a North Belfast one where where most of our gems from and most of my friends and I went to school I went to school literally the building next to this um where the events being held like so it's a real home show so loads of tickets for it loads of friends and family coming to it so it's proper home turf one this one for our gym like um it's going to be class to be my second Pro fight second Main Event um Main Event the last one I had a br Manning like and know he was putting up Main Event Manning like but it was main event of the last show like I heard I heard he was trying to get on this show and was saying to knock me off the Main Event spot like but Main Event last show he was on or we were on together so good crack like but uh I just just can't wait to get going you know there was a time when I was like having a lot of amateur fights and I was like when's the perfect time to go pro and it was good my last fight was sort of pro short notice um sort of just pushed me to just go I'll go pro now like and here I'm have him a second proof fight and Buzz him to get it under way like yeah and what we witnessed your first pro fight was was the Striking was so slick and so accurate and there wasn't not that they weren't heavy punches but it was more the accuracy and the timing as Conor McGregor would say like you kind of like you looked very very sharp I'm assuming you're gonna be a much improved version from that one coming into this one like what's this training camp been like yeah it's been a lot better than the not that I I train is if going to fight the freaking best fighter in the world every every time like uh I train as hard as I can I don't see any point in taking a fight unless you're going to train as hard as you can but because the last one was only turned Pro like or only got switched to Pro about four weeks out I was so worried about like I was like I've never even trained like well I've trained a wee bit but I've never trained five minute range you know what I mean and i' haven't trained the elbows the we gloves all the different stuff do you know what I mean so this Camp I've known I've known my next fight's going to be Pro the whole for ages here like so training I've been getting the five minutes in like every day no matter what I'm doing like pods five minutes doing you know circuits whatever drilling on the bag everything five minutes five minute shark tanks barely got any five minute R shark tanks sparing for the last fight um so I'm just feeling I'm feeling a lot more confident in all my tools like and just just can't wait to show them and I think Pro suits me better like than than amateur you know I like I like fill them away in the fights um and I like pushing P so um I'm looking forward to this yeah because because with am you've only got the the three minutes rounds if you got into a grappling exchange there's not enough time to kind of Advance the position because you know I know myself from even watching the lik Jitsu wrestling whatever you need time to get from one to it's not straight A to B you have to go to different channels but and then elbows as well and knees as well suit you but in terms of your opponent um I spoke to himself he's had a bit of an absence uh obviously since he last fought yeah would you have even looked at because I I couldn't find either if you did will you send it to him because he like when you're looking at him you wouldn't be would you be treating him as the fighter that you would have seen him last or are you g to feat him as a completely new fight because four years is a huge yeah no uh no I I think I've said to you before like my last all interviews I've done with you I I I don't watch a lot of my opponents at all like uh I would just leave that up to my day um I train as hard as I can anyway so I sort of trying to focus on what I'm going to do anyway I think it comes from fighting you know when I was a kid fighting karate tournaments then getting older fighting an IM off tournaments you don't know who you're fighting do you know you're training full time going over to them you don't know who you're fighting at all you win you don't know who you're fighting the next day do you know what I mean so I I I haven't looked I haven't looked much into them I I knew who it was I remembered I remembered like sort of hearing his name about when I first started um I think this fight sort of came about I think we had a I had one or two opponents like this fight got agreed quite early anyway but I had one or two opponents who were like half agreed before I think he like contacted the show or whatever to try and get on so once those other fights fell through like it was easy enough to make you know what I mean so um no I haven't looked too much into him but I'm expecting him to be the best fighter for yep so that's why I'm training for it anyway look yeah know and I like that attitude and and the attitude like you talked about the IM Master stuff that you just focus on yourself because I think people like we spoke before get too caught up in and trying to stop what the other person may be good at whereas you need to just go and establish your own game but obviously it's gonna be like a a very a homecoming kind of fight it's going to be a big fight like how does it feel like you said to have that many tickets sold and have that many people coming to attend do you think it adds pressure or does it add motivation um I think it adds motivation you know me and my brother we like started fighting internationally before we fought here so we were fighting abroad no fans at all like for ourselves like it was all like if you're were in tournaments there was loads of people watching but there wasn't much atmosphere at them I I remember when I was having my first fight back here against the Adrian bar I was like I was thinking before I was like all the crowd like do you know like a a really heavy atmosphere in the crowd like fans people shouting for you burn you whatever I remember thinking that may make me feel like more nervous do you know what I mean but I find like the crowd and people shering me it's it's the opposite like I think it it's it's way easier to get up for a fight when you know you've got walk out Tunes your your fans are there whatever people shouting yeah I think it's it's really easier it's way easier to get stuck straight into the fight you know I found in the past fight in tournaments you know with zero atmosphere you have no walk there's like three cages going at the same time when you're walking out they're sort of just like right you're up and you walk in you're like I even you know like it's it's m cuz you're like am I fighting here or what like you just walk in dead silent no no one watching your fight really because there's multiple cides going on at the off and you know you have no walk out song and just sort of start going you're sort of not that you've warmed up you're sort of like I don't know the the the intensity doesn't match the atmosphere at all when you're fighting without a crow so I I really enjoy like the crow like I think it brings best out yeah and like you said I think if I haven't fought but I would presume if you're a fighter there's a process to you're out the back you come out you have your walk out they have their walk out or or vice versa whatever way and and there's a process that it kind of would switch you on then once you get to the C know right the door closed is now it's go time whereas with the IM just kind of like we'll grab you jack you're up you're in the C then it's just kind of like stand there like I said not that you're not warmed up but is it mentally are you mentally ready to start the fight and I think that could be one of the issues I don't know I know definitely like before I fought on like shows like clown wars or chaos here or whatever I remember thinking like that's just the way I remember thinking it was going to be worse with a crowd just because it was used to fighting like not there was a crowd there but all the fighters you know what I mean everyone at I'm off is fighting so they're not really watching it the way like a crowd would you know and there's no music or anything so and there's mult like as I said there's multiple cages so like when you're walking out it is like what you said like when you feel flat like when you feel flat like that like without a crowd know it's hard sometimes it can be hard to get going but it's near impossible to feel like that when you're getting announced you're getting announced there's a song for your walk out songs going your friends and all are cheering for you it's way easier to like switch on get stuck in as you said like that's that's exact the exact way I feel about it like yeah well well that's what I I gathered from from what you said there but we're not looking past Mikey or we're not looking past pass the show this week but obviously this going to be your second fight like do you have a plan for 2025 an amount of fights you'd like or you just got to wait until this fight is over get through Christmas and then kind of go into the new year and create a plan then yeah um no definitely plan on being a lot busier next year um I know this cage Gladiator there's going to be a lot more shows around next year for it so I'm hoping um I never look I never like look past opponent I'm fighting like I know some people when they're fighting both multiple fights in a row I never I never agree a fight until my last fight's over like so I uh I put my full focus on who I'm fighting first like whoever G to fight full focus is on them but yeah next year I planning I plan on getting a lot more fights and hopefully hopefully three three at least maybe maybe four like if I'm feeling lucky like but I after this F be putting on the beef over Christmas like and then January cut so probably April time I reckon will be my first fight next year and like April summer then one towards the end of the year as well yeah no it's good and like that like said because cage Gladiator you said is gonna is going to run a lot more shows next year and and there's a host of shows here at the minute as it is anyways and I think you're right to just look at what's ahead of you because I've talked to a fight I won't mention him but he was a pro fighter he had one fight and then he was looking at when I get past this he was promised something so he think speak of that and then he end up losing the fight his concentration was more about the the the trophy let's say than the actual the task in hand but um it'll be good to see you fight again this weekend I GNA let you go I want to thank you so much for your time I know it's fight week is there anything you want to say before you go it's been an absolute pleasure talking to you yeah H just shout out my sponsors here I've had more time to get sponsors than the last fight because when I was amateur I didn't really try to get sponsors at all like so just want to thank my sponsors here who jumed on board for this Camp so s Angel Flur they've going to sponsor the gym for a long time like so big thank you to them um Olympus Olympus Roofing Solutions new sponsor on for this fight Camp um brilliant to have them on board um bespoke Barber Shop sponsor me ran my barber been my barber for ages he's he's jumped on board um can I export Belfast been sorting me out with all the sports massages um and you know the cing and stuff really made me feel Top Notch you know like fat Camp's a hard thing like your body's broken down like it's good to have them on board and then Flex Communications um family friend used to be a fighter as well Bobby Shephard he sponsoring both me and out he sort sorted us out with you know all our supplements and protein and stuff like that for this training camp so thanks to all them guys and of course z KJ the gym at uh you know putting all their effort into me so thanks all yeah no 100% and it just shows even uh when you go into professional that the like how crucial sponsors are because it's not an easy it's not an easy slog doing the the professional thing or the amateur thing and to have them on board is a massive help like said sometimes it might not even be money it might be products or or services that they can give you so thank you very much I will see you this weekend it's been an absolute pleasure again spot on Shar
