Go back. Let's go. All right. Um, everyone, we're here Artemis Fight Night at uh lovely Belfast. Um, and I have here again Miss Gemma Cogill. Welcome back. >> Thanks. Um, first of all, that was a very good display of uh kickboxing there, I thought. >> Yeah. Well, first of time in a ring, first of time doing kickboxing. I think it did all right. >> I think you did fantastic. >> Okay. Did Okay. >> It's a couple um Is it Did you get a Was it a sweep? Cuz she fell. >> I think it just I kicked her and kicked her leg. Yeah. >> Yeah. It was very good. I got I got that on camera. So, >> not bad. Not bad. So, uh, you know, like your first kickboxing match, what was your expectations coming into this? >> Literally, just to see how it held up. That was my thinking. I'll go in and it's a good way obviously to test my striking. >> Yeah. >> Um, cuz that's all I can do. I think in MMA, I'm quite comfortable going into the clinch and obviously using the cage and things like that. That was all took away from me today. So, I had to actually just rely on my striking, which was good. I enjoyed it. Like, I enjoyed it. But, I definitely want to go back to the cage. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. I think that's okay. Okay. That That's good. Um, so what what was it like getting in there on, you know, for your first, you know, kickboxing match? Like what what was it like? >> Strange. I was looking forward to it. I was a couple of weeks ago I was like, "Oh, do I even really want to do this cuz it's not MMA?" But this week I've been excited. It's more so exciting because it's the first women's >> Yes. >> event. It's a big day. This This is history. Like I've got to be a part of it and obviously got the win. So that was good. >> All right. So, speaking to that, u I believe this Belfast at least it's Belfast first all female uh combat sports card. Um you what's it like being, you know, kind of a part of that? >> Well, it's history and people will look back one day when there's many hopefully there's many many more to come of this, but they'll look back one day to the OG event and my face will be on it. Great. >> That's awesome. So, like um what what uh what's next for you? Like you're pretty been pretty active this year. >> I have. have been very blessed to get the fights that I have got. But I've actually got a match for my amateur debut. Obviously, I did have one, but she pulled out. She wasn't well. God lover. Um, but I'm on Cage Cage Legacy. No, Cage Conflict. >> Cage. Okay. >> Cage Conflict. 18th of October. And I'm actually fighting Rachel Michael Haga. >> Mhm. Very good. >> So, that'll be a smash fest. >> All right. >> Can't wait for that. >> Looking forward to that. >> Yeah, that'll be a good one. Absolutely. Fingers crossed. Obviously, all goes well for Rachel's fight. No injuries and all and we get to go ahead. What? Um, okay. So, from today, like what what are you taking away from today that you're going to use in your next fight? >> Just that I can stand. I I don't have to run to the clinch. I don't have to maybe shoot. I don't have to use the keys. Like, I can stand and fight. Obviously, I've just done it. So, >> did you feel any uh did you feel like you came into this with any advantage? >> Um, probably just the confidence in myself that I have and obviously that last fight where I got that knockout, that definitely has helped my confidence with the striking. So, I sort of know I do have the power there. It's just obviously executing the technique that I can get the knockout. So, >> yeah, you you definitely have the power there and you definitely have the uh the confidence to get in there and strike, especially as seen today. Like you you landed several uh good shots to the head, to the face. >> Yeah. >> Um so, congratulations on that. >> Nice. I can't wait to watch it back actually because, you know, there was a couple there was a couple of good ones I felt. So, >> yes. Yes, absolutely. Um, and it was it was very entertaining to watch, which these days is a critical. >> Yeah. >> Uh, um, so like um, >> what was it that made you want to do this anyway? Why did you want to try? Do >> you know what? I love Mel. I love her to pieces and I think what she's trying to do obviously ne who's commentating, she had done it for the South and I think what N's Neil's trying to do down here is just absolutely fantastic and I love her to pieces and whenever she announced she was doing it, I was like, sign me up. >> So, sorry. Uh you mean with the the all women's uh the all women's all women's card. Yeah. No, it is fantastic and uh I I'm I'm so happy that there is someone doing it. Uh it it's say it's slightly sad that it hasn't happened sooner. Um but it and I'm happy that someone's finally doing it. Like it is it is great um to get >> uh you a card that's only women cuz for for so long it's just been men. But even still now, >> and then even even the men's cards that they have now, it it's if you get a woman's uh fight on it, there's only like one, two, maybe three if you're lucky. >> Yeah. And most of the time they're left at the bottom of the card. >> Yes. >> Cuz it's not going to be as good. But I think my experience watching fights and stuff, the women bring it just as good as the men. Sometimes better than the men. >> I I I like watching women. >> I feel like we need more respect. >> No. Uh I in MMA at least, I definitely love watching the women because they're so technical. >> I We're a different breed. We're definitely a different breed. And then when you have someone, not to toot my own horn, but I have the power, too. I just still working on the tactical bit, but like people like me coming up, there's loads more likely that have the power. And then obviously once we get the technicality of it, we can stand to toe with the man. Easy. >> I can. All right. Uh well, look, do you have anything to say? You want to shout on your >> No, just thank you to M for having us on. Well done for running a fantastic show. And on to the next one. >> Absolutely. All right. Uh so until we talk again, which I know we will be talking again. Of course we will. >> All right. So next time. next time. >> All right. Cheers. [Music] Heat. Heat. N. [Music]
