Post-fight interview with Uisneach Graham at Artemis Fight Night 1 after she won the ISKA Irish 55 kg women’s title. She says she had already beaten the same taller opponent on Deliverance and did so again in a physical bout, training to step off knees, push, and low-kick the body and legs while getting inside her striking. She credits preparation at Lanka Muay Thai, sparring tall teammates including her brother Dean and Liam G, and says height does not stop her. Beyond the belt, she wanted to prove she can do it and will fight for what she wants. She praises an all-women card as rare compared with one or two female bouts on typical shows and as a chance to show women can match or beat men in quality. At 17, with three years of competing, she is among older juniors on a card with many junior bouts and tells younger girls that losses are fine and rematches can go the other way. She plans to fight again in two weeks at the Irish Sandy Open in Dublin, likely her last bout of the year, then relax her diet. She shouts out a best friend she calls her sister, who was also fighting for the same title that night.

Let's go >> everyone. Artemis fight. Artemis fight night. I have here Miss >> Ushna Graham. >> Yeah, >> that's a it's a lovely name. It really I assume it's Irish, right? Okay. I thought so. Uh no, I I do like that. Uh for my youngest girl, I wanted to name her Una. >> Oh, yes, that's a nice name, too. >> My wife veed it. >> Um but anyway, look, congratulations. Uh you can't see it there, but pull pull it up. See if there we can get a little bit the new uh ISKA and ISK Irish 55 kg. >> Um >> women's title or Yeah. title holder. Yeah. Uh congratulations. >> Thank you. >> Um I watched the fight. >> It was it was it was very good. It was a bit of a brawl. >> Yeah. >> Um >> we fought before on deliverance and I beat her >> again. Yeah. >> Okay. That I think I might explain. She she was very quite upset um at the end there. So, uh, that that that explains that a little bit. Um, I guess you know, from fighting her before, what did you do to kind of prepare for this fight with her again? >> So, when I was training, I would train to like step away from her knees or like push her and low kick because she's so tall, it's easy to like attack her body and her legs. >> Yes. >> So, yeah. Uh, you're right. Uh, she she's very tall. Uh, definitely has a height and reach advantage on you and you're able to get in there. you're able to get inside her uh her striking and land those kicks and those shots to the head. Um several good ones to the face. So like what is it that you do? How do you prepare for that? Because you know obviously she's got a physical advantages on you in you know her size. Um like what what do you do to kind of prepare yourself for that? >> Um I don't really because there's like a load of different height mixtures in my gym. Um, so speaking of the event, uh, Artemis Flight Night, this is, uh, uh, I don't know if this is the North's or Ireland in general's first all female flight card. >> Um, but like what's it like, you know, kind of being a part of this event? I think it's really cool and it gives more chances to women because normally when there's like a show it's normally like one or two women fighting and like it's more people come to see the men but this is like a chance to prove that women can just be as good as men. >> Absolutely. >> If not better. >> Absolutely. Um so like there there were a lot Sorry uh going to edit all this out. Um no. So how old are you yourself? You're only you're >> 17. >> Okay. Um so there were a lot of uh junior or underage cards tonight. Um like what's it like? How sorry first of all, how long have you been competing? >> Uh three years. >> Three years. Um okay, so kind of being at the the senior level in age um for the juniors like what what's it uh what's it like? >> Excuse me. No. Um, being at kind of the the the senior level, you you're about to you'll transition into the, you know, the adult pro. Yeah. Um, >> what do you >> with the younger girls? >> Yeah. >> What do you want to try to like instill in them or teach them um as they are, you know, gaining their experience and coming to shows like this >> that it doesn't matter if you lose, you can always try again? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> That's great. >> It actually is my >> Yeah. If she knocks you down, you can always fight her again and beat her. >> Um, >> what are your plans for the rest of the year? Are you going to try and fight again? Do you want >> Yeah, I'm fighting in two weeks time on the Sandy Open. Okay. Irish Sandy Open in Dublin. So, that'll probably be my last fight of the year and then I can just eat whatever I want. >> Uh, when you're not preparing for a flight, what do you what's your go-to meal? >> What do you What's your guilty pleasure? Ice cream. I love ice cream. >> What kind? >> Ben & Jerry's. >> The particular flavors and cookie one with a marshmallow. >> That's a very good one. >> I like the marshmallows. >> Yeah. All right. Look, um I I appreciate it. Thank you for uh talking to me. >> Um and yeah, that's all.
