[Applause] [Music] Welcome back EFC 11. How's it going? First of all, congratulations, man. Thank you, Tony. Appreciate it. Uh, great working there. I I'll preface this by saying like if there was a a bonus for fight of the night so far, I think that's the one. Thank you. Um, that was some big big big hands coming from you. Yeah. Right. I I didn't think he he took a good few of them. I thought he was going to go down sooner than, you know, but they just weren't cleaning up. I think I finally got him clean. That's what took him down, you know. I wish I got the finish, you know. Nearly. I just lost stamina, being honest with you. You know, and I I celebrated, you know. Yeah, you nearly had it there. Um, for a second there I thought the ref was going to call and I thought he was going to jump in there and the ref was very nice. Um, yeah, he Derek's great ref by the way. Um, one of the best in the country. Um, but um, like talk to me like what what was it like uh, you know, just preparing for this cuz this is your first amateur fight, right? So like what was it uh, like you know preparing for this? Oh man, it was two days uh, two day training twice a day. Sorry. um for like 2 months, you know, putting weight at the same time. I started at 91 kg. Okay. I weighed in today 84.3. Right on. You know, uh but it was intense, man. It was intense. Uh and I and I think it showed tonight, you know. Do you find it difficult to cut that weight? Is like is this a com is this comfortable weight for you to fight at? I I think I need to go a little bit lower, but you know, I'm 100% happy. I don't think I'll be going back up anytime soon. Right on. Right on. Yeah. Uh okay. So this being your you know your first amateur fight like what what is it that kind of drew you into all of those? All of what like just fighting like combat sports in general? Um you know I used to fight when I was 16 17 you know I was doing kickboxing then I took a break for a few years and I came back now I'm 26. But what brought me back is that I have a talent that I don't want to waste you know only so much years left in my youth and I want to utilize and see where it takes me. You know I'm winning so far. I'm 4 and0. You know I just got my blue belt today. Congratulations. things are things are are progressing. You know, coaches are happy, you know, they see progress in me and so let's invest in the in talent and let's see where it takes me. Absolutely. Like uh so what what what what's the future like for you? What do what do you what do you where do you see yourself next year? I I don't go by year, bro. I go by month. Okay. You know, I just set goals for myself each month. And you know, I I take it easy, you I don't go so hard on myself and be like, "Hey, this year in two years time, four years time, month by month, I have my targets and I try to hit that, you know." Yeah. What um you plan Do you want to fight again this year? 100%. Two more times. Two more times. Yeah. So, again in summer we finish off in the winter, right? Yeah. So, like uh talk to me about like you're in the cage, they shut the door. What's that feeling like for you? When they shut the door, my brain is telling me, "Okay, this is real. Control yourself. Sometimes it goes out the window and then you have to remind yourself, okay, poseure again, you know. Well, I actually prefer to just get in the cage than just the weight. It's the weight that's annoying, you know. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Especially today we had a bit of a weight before a lot, you know. Yeah. But I'm happy it's done now. I can take a break, work on my promotion, just work on other things I want to work on. Heck yeah. So, like u do you have Edson as your your coach? Like what's it like? Do you feel like pressure for yourself to kind of perform well for him or is he kind of cool enough to you know not put that pressure on you? Yeah. So like I have like Edson as my coach Loiva and I training SPG also John Kafna coach Dave and coach re you know so um I think they're happy with my performances so far. I've only been training with them two months. Okay. an SPG and you know they can see progress as long as you can look at me and be like hey you know when people look at you and they say oh okay this is this is um an investment that we can make that's all I like to see cuz they see something in me and they want to bring it out you know I think it was coach red told me you know he's good at polishing diamonds so if he's telling me he sees me as a diamond all I need to all I need to be is polished that's it's good news you know that's a hell of a compliment especially coming from that man right there exactly yeah um so like excuse me Yeah. Um, you have an event like this, like talk to me about like uh like what's it like on the day like nerves wise? Like what what are you feeling on the day? Yeah. Like you know how your nerves feel? Like what what's your like how how do you keep yourself kind of calm? I think it's like okay so like for example this week I was super excited on the day um leading up to the day I'm getting a bit more serious you know but I'm excited today I was a bit more focused okay you know I always tried to bring that excitement back in you know the fun but it's very hard to treat this as fun when someone tried to knock you out you know what I mean yeah I get it I think training is more fun than the actual fight but um yeah I think a lot of things are going through my mind be calm be full cal collected, you know, you got this, you know, then you have people hyping you up, your coaches, they're your teammates, a lot of things, you know. Okay. Um, so I saw you had a few fans in the crowd. Yeah. What's it like? Uh, how does it feel to kind of to give them or to perform this well in front of them? It feels good, man. You know, it feels good cuz these are the people that make you Yeah. at the same time, you know. So, at the end of the day, I know I'm a fighter, but I'm an entertainer first. McGregor is a hell of a fighter, but the entertainment part is what he got to a tea, which no one could do. You know, you can see how everyone's copying him now. Everyone is shouting, you know what I mean? Saying you and being vulgar and stuff and making fake beef, it's it's the entertainment part. So, I do that for them. So, them telling me that they were entertained my performance. That's a blessing. I do this for them, you know? Right on. Um, look, man, I don't want to take too much more of your time. Like, I appreciate you uh talking to me here. Congratulations again. Congratulations on Yeah, there it is. Congratulations on this guy there. Thank you. Um well, well deserved and I hope to see you back in there again and uh I hope to chat with you afterwards. All right. Appreciate it. Right on, brother. Take care. Yes, sir. You too. Heat. Heat.
