Go back. [Music] >> All right, everyone. Welcome back. Uh, your fighting championship. I have here Mr. Robbie Whitehead. >> Yeah. >> Congratulations, man. Thank you very much. >> Didn't even break a sweat. >> No, no, it was it was good. It was good. He took me down. Um, we were kind of expecting the take down. So, was almost a little bit disappointed I got down in the end. But, uh, yeah. I mean, once I got that over hook on his arm, I think we all knew everyone in my corner as well that we had that we had that arm bar all day. Yeah. >> Yeah. Know, it was solid. He had it was it was solid. Like, there was no getting out of it. And I think he he attempted to flip over to try and get out of there, but >> try to jump over, but I mean, the lads know from the gym all I'm doing is arm bars all day. So, uh, yeah, you can flip over. You can flip left, right, and center. It doesn't matter. I'll still get you with it. No bother. >> Right on. So that's something you do all the time then. Yeah. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> Kind of a specialty for you. >> Uh that and many others I'd say. I'm not going to stick to just one bes you know. >> Right on. >> Um well just talking about I know it was a short fight but like you know what was it like uh you know in your today you know >> for me today the biggest thing was trying to just relax myself a little bit. You know it's getting to the stage where the last few fights especially my last fight there in Virtuous where I was kind of tense up a bit. I'm too keen on just getting in a scrap and throwing my hands as hard as I can. So, the whole thing was just trying to stay relaxed. My coach was talking before I went in, coach Owen Dempsey, and he was telling me just to settle down. And as soon as I got my guard, I could hear his voice in my ear just telling me to relax, relax, relax, and focus on one thing at a time. Pin one hand. He can only hit me with the other. Um, and it set up the arm barely. So, big shout out to my team, Next Generation, Sean Pren, Rob Nolan, H Keering back over in the in the stage. Yeah, big thanks to you lads. >> Right on. Um, so speaking of like listening to your coaches and everything, uh, and your corners when you're in the in the cadence there, is it is it difficult for you to kind of pinpoint their voice or is it because you've been training with them so so long, I guess it's just easy for you to >> I think that's something every fighter has to face is that when you're tensed up and you're uh you're especially in your first few fights, it's hard to know what's going on. You're not really in the moment. So for me now, it's all about trying to be in the moment, trying to enjoy it a bit more. And as a result of that, you hear your coaches, you know, you hear the people in the crowd and you're you're you remember everything you do, you know what I mean? Everything you've done in training, you can implement that. So, yes. >> Okay. How many fights is this for you now? >> That is six now. F. What am I? [ __ ] Six. Six. Six. >> Right. >> Six MMA fights. Yeah. Yeah. >> So, like um what what's one big difference that you see in yourself today versus like your very first fight? big difference for me. Just like I'm saying there, I'm much more in the moment, much more present and able to implement the skills that I have. I'm not just looking to run in and get in the getting in a firefight. And uh like I think at the start it was more about proving that, proving I can go in and have a big scrap. But now I don't need to prove that, you know, and I've I've had a few fights. I'm more experienced now and I can implement what I what I've been learning. >> I am going Sorry. >> Apologies. Like I said, I need an assistant here. Um, so when you a fight like this that's, you know, that's so short, like you're not disappointed, >> but like clearly I'm sure you wish it would have wish it would have kind of gone the distance. >> Yeah. I mean, yeah, like we were practicing a lot of strikes and a lot of setups and things like that. And uh I I fancy my striking quite a lot and I was hoping to get a little bit more off. Um I reckon if it went into later rounds, I would have had him on the feet, no bother. Um, so part of me is a little bit disappointed, but I mean at the end of the day, you know, you'll take your win. Yeah, >> absolutely. Uh, like what what uh what's what's something you're taking from this that you want to use next time or improve on? >> Uh, well, more just being in the moment, being present like it was, even though it was a short fight like that, that's what I can take away with it right now. You know, it's all go back and watch it again. I'm sure I made some mistakes there um getting taken down. Um, I don't know. I can't remember exactly what what happened there, but um we'll go back, we'll work on it, we'll fix it, and we'll come back again. Yeah. >> Cool. Um so, speaking of uh your next one, like what are you are you fighting again this year or are you going to take it easy? >> We've got a boxing fight lined up at the WKO in November. >> Oh, okay. Right on. >> And I think EFC are having a fight having in October. So, we might look at doing something like that. Won't be the last MMA fight this year for sure. No way. It won't be the last one. >> Okay. One in before the end of the year for sure. Yeah. >> Well, look, man. I hope to talk to you again at one of those events. And again, congratulations and appreciate your time here. Come and talk to me. And then before I forget, everyone check out combat confidential.com. Um, best if you like me talking finders like this. Um, please please check it out. Um, and buy a t-shirt or something like that. Everything comes back and I put everything into all this so just so I can make it up to these shows. So, um, >> is there anything you want to say before we get on? >> We're done. That's it. Right on, brother. Look, I I appreciate your time. Thank you very much. And uh again, congratulations. >> Yes, definitely. Next time. >> Yes, next time.
