This is a full day in the life of what it's like to fight in the Irish national championships.
Of course, you start the day off with a quick shower, then we check our weight, everything's
all good, get my gear bag ready for the car, get weighed in, bang on weight.
Of course, important to refuel after weighing with some peanut butter and jelly bagels and
an electrolyte drink.
I wasn't fighting till 12 o'clock so I had time to watch some fights, then we head backstage
to the warm up area and of course have to give the relatives a blessing.
Roughly now before my fight, I like to stretch out and get loose.
Unfortunately in my first fight, I had to fight a close friend and teammate in Mornin'
Abel, but we both just went out and left it all there.
Second fight was the beginning of the boardcade from Annette, and this is Jim and Mornin'
Gareth, who was able to get the Gareth choke in about 30 seconds.
Caught a nice double leg, and you know the saying goes, send two treers, SPG, try the
sound and forget.
Saw a nice opening for a Gareth choke, so of course I quickly locked it up and got
this up.
Here I am now getting my hand raised to get up, before the fight, I stupidly predicted
I was going to go for a flying triangle and end up getting put on my arse, but of course
we came back and got the Iron Bear for a nice submission which made me 4th one of the Irish
national champion.
Here I am now getting my medal after 3 nice wins, a cheeky rose at half of the fight if
you know you know, and of course I can't do a competition day without the Triletown
team here.
So he went to WTF burger and got an absolute feast as you can see on screen and of course
a good cookie split to finish off a great day.
