Fansview MMA interviews Adam Wallace (Tartan Blood) ahead of his professional MMA debut against Blaine McGill at Chaos Fighting Championships. Wallace explains the bout grew from Blaine approaching him online after Wallace’s previous Chaos booking against Daniel Thompson fell through; he initially declined because Blaine had about 15 or 16 amateur fights, then accepted after Blaine persisted and Chaos’s Andy agreed. Wallace expects a hostile reception in Derry but says he is used to being booed, and describes camp in Alicante while letting rivals assume he has not trained. He contrasts his boxing-heavy background with Blaine’s broader MMA experience, notes he was recently offered a unpaid no-rules fight he rejected, and outlines a 30 May boxing rematch with Nathan Mulligan after their prior draw on a night Mulligan took two bouts. Wallace closes by urging Scottish fans to buy tickets and pay-per-view.

Okay. So, I'm it's my pleasure to have joining me Mr. Tarn Blood, Adam Wallace, who's going to be competing at Chaos Fighting Championship. I see he's doing a lot of promotion for himself. He's coming over. He's going to be fighting Bla McIll. It's going to be both their professional debuts. Thank you very much for joining me. How are you feeling? How are you feeling to be coming back to Chaos? >> Good. I'm I'm excited about like last time I was very nervous, you know, back in the cage again after a long time. It played a lot on my mind. H I don't know. I'm excited about it. Very excited. You know, I've been training for it. I was training last time out. It's the first time I've been properly back. Obviously, I've not been in a gym like I should have been. You know, I've not been training like Blaine has, don't get me wrong, but I've been doing a lot more than I have been recently. So, I'm excited. I'm good to go. >> Yeah. And talk to how this cuz for me, it was a peculiar fight to kind of to come out. It kind of came out of left field when I saw it and I was assuming that we might see you again over here, but I didn't think it'd be for like a Bla McIll debut. How did that kind of fight come about? Where I I've seen bits and pieces online, but you you'll elaborate on it here now. >> Yeah. Well, Bla says he he knew me for the last show. I didn't obviously know who Blaine was. Obviously, after the last show went downhill, I didn't get I didn't fight. I was meant to be fighting Daniel Thompson. I don't know if they're mates, whatever, but Blade came at me not long after that and started, you know, puting on me. Look, fight me. Come on, we can get a good fight. My professional MMA debut, this and that. Welcome me back to the cage from a professional. So, I was like, right, cool. So, checked him out, noticed he was, you know, he's very, he's had a good few fights and he was about 15, 16 amateur fights. So, I went back to him. I said, "Look, Blit too experienced for me. There's no point in that." It went quiet for a bit. He then came back at me again. I was like, "You know what? [ __ ] it. This could be my shout. Could be. Get me back in there. If they're up for it, we'll do it." I put it to Andy and Andy was game. So, let's go. >> Yeah. No, it is cuz obviously Blaine is from Derry and we've got James Slav who's also from Derry on the card as well. >> And coming into it, this I've seen this been just a little bit. It's been more kind of not back and forth, but there's been kind of things being said, which was strange cuz you you never kind of instigated anything, but you kind of you put messages out there. There's a little bit of beef, which is strange for two people that didn't know each other. How are you going to feel coming into like someone else's backyard or that that's something you always do, isn't it, Adam? >> I'm used to I've I've only had a bit two fights in Scotland. Most of my fights are down south in England. So, I think it's probably a lot worse for a Scottish guy going down to England than it would be for a Scottish guy going into Ireland. But it would be worse if I was English. I don't think the Irish really like the English. So, I'm going to get a better reception than an Englishman would. But it's his hometown. I know what it's going to be like. I'm going to get booed. I'm used to it for my first fight. I've heard it. You know, it's no different. It's not going to Nobody can fight for him. Nobody can fight fight for me. So it's it's one of the things I'm going to get a good reception after it. Simple as that. So that's the way I see it. >> Yeah. And that's the thing with us I and obviously with the Scots we're very similar in nature and values and stuff like that. Once the fighting said and done most of the time nine times out of 10 you're going to get a round of applause from the fans whether you win or or lose. Obviously, if if Blaine was to lose, it'll go quite silent for the first few minutes and then uh uh then you'd be excit because like that at the end day is fighting and that's what I love about the game is is people start training together after they fight and everything, but how is the start like for like like you said, you've had some amateur fights at MMA. How has the pro preparations been? I know they're still just under two weeks, but how the have you changed up much? I don't want you to go into detail obviously to give things away, but have you changed up much for your usual fight camp? >> First of all, if Blaine loses, there's not going to be silence. The place is going to [ __ ] explode. Like, I'm going to have to take cover if Blaine loses, and I know that, but nah, it's going to be different. You know, elbows, [ __ ] knees, all this [ __ ] It's going to be completely different. I've only been training boxing for years now. So yeah, it's going to be different. I'm not going too much into I want everybody to think what they want to think. Like Bla doesn't think I've been training. I was in Alakante for two and a half weeks here finishing off camp. Bla thinks I've been drinking. I'm an ex alcoholic. I don't drink. So I want people to think what they're going to think and then they'll see on fight night the difference. So if people want to think I've been lying about doing nothing, they can think that. >> Yeah. Never show someone your full hand. That's what I always when I say stupid things, people are like, "Why'd you act like that?" And I said, "I never show people exactly what what the strength of your hand is." >> Um, >> but like that leading up to it, you've got elbows, you've got knees. Are you excited to partake in it? Cuz you've got like obviously you do a lot more boxing with this. You've got more like weapons to use, knees, elbows. Is there a bit of excitement being able to use a different set of Arsenal for fight as well? >> Well, I was asked a couple of weeks ago to do a no rules fight. So that's going to be like a step in that kind of direction. You know, there's minimal rules in this. So I I'm I'm excited. He's probably a bit more excited than I am. As I say, he's a lot more experienced. He knows how to use all this stuff. He's been using it a lot more than I have, but I'm not excited to take them, but I'm excited to hand them out. >> Yeah. Know, I I can imagine. You talked about the no rules thing. I've noticed that's something that I've kind of kept my eye on for the past two or three years and it seems to have kind of I don't want to say exploded but it's it's I see it everywhere. And I talked to an MMA fighter who actually fought in Belfast who now does that and I was asked him I said why do you do that? And he said there's a lot of money in it. Would that be the case? Would you make a better living doing that that that one? No. Or is he just full of [ __ ] Not over here for some reason. They seem the one that offered to me was for free. I'm not fighting no rule for free. You know like the home you're asking for free. >> Yeah. >> Yeah, I can see that. Sorry. I don't know what happened there. So the last thing I heard was they offered it to you for for free. Was >> Yeah. So they wanted me to do it for free and not happening. No, it's like to go >> I can go and get I can go get 300 pound to box. Why am I going to put my ears on the line, my eyes on the line for [ __ ] free? >> That makes no sense. >> You need a better compensation because the the risk and rewards >> don't really kind of weigh out. So, you need a better kind of compensation for that. But look, I looking forward to I'll actually be commentating on the night. So, I'll actually be commentating the fight. So, I'm actually looking forward to that. I'm looking forward to meeting you in person as well when I get there. But look, it's going to be a fantastic card. >> What's your plans for the rest of the year? Or are you just focusing on this fight or have you got other fights lined up for after? >> I've got a rematch on the 30th of May. I'm going to be fighting a guy called Nathan for the bing h a box. Basically, he decided to take two fights on the same night. Uh, so he fought me first. The judges gave him the gave gave us a draw so that he can then fight later on that night. I think I beat him. He thinks he beat me for some reason. He's a [ __ ] idiot. The guy just lost his 18th fight. He's never won a fight. He's lost his 18th fight last night. So, he's next after this 30 FMA. Back to the social media boxing scene. We'll see what comes after this. >> Yeah. Know, and that's one thing I do want to say. would be my last day maybe. >> No, and I'm sure obviously if like once the the show and all goes through, I'm sure that Andy will probably have you back again as well. I I think you're a bit regardless of what happened last night. Me and Andy were just talking about like he's a bit of a character though, isn't he, Joe? Like when we see your post, we're like he's he's a he's a bit of a laugh. But look, I got to let you go. I'm looking forward to to calling your fight and meeting you in person. Is there anything you want to say before you go or anyone you want to shout out? Thank you so much for taking your time out to talk to me today. Um, >> weeks now, one week. So, if you don't get your tickets, get your tickets bought. As soon as that pay-per-view comes out, [ __ ] buy that, right? We know there's a good amount of Scottish people bought the last one to watch me. So, let's [ __ ] double it this time. Let's show my pool. >> Perfect. I can't wait to see you fight in person. I can't wait to meet you in person. and I will see you in less than two weeks. Thank you for your time, Adam. >> See you soon, Dave.
