have two undefeated SPG Island Tour Fighters they are absolute Legends it's Kieran Clark and Derek Kelly Lads how are we doing oh it's good lads or just well yeah welcome to the show Lads welcome back what might even say um yeah so we're just about to start entering into fight week Lads um this is obviously Been a Long Camp uh I think we we had something similar last time out for yourself Kieran have those long cam Spin and do you feel like with long comes obviously you probably want to fight sooner but do we feel like we got a totally different floater from the last time we saw and obviously this one's a bantamweight for yourself so did that extra bit of time help with the weight class change yeah no I definitely did like like you said you know I'd have maybe the third Point here between the summer the the two battle four cards just this year you know probably obviously bought him yeah look I mean it is what it is but it is hardly can I think to the puppy lives and we talked um you know when you get that kind of 15 weeks out you get kind of sign a contractor I don't know when it was like like that it's hard to like you know you're constantly thinking about the fight and you know you know it's um you don't want to start you know cutting too early and it's very it is hard at that point look at that again you can kind of you know put a face to it to the train and then you know you prepare for the late night you know so um but yeah look at this what is and it was good it was a good time for me with the new a class and stuff as well just to kind of you know but I did I did learn a lot really sounds like that like really the glad it's like myself really only really needs probably six weeks they get out of the way like you know like really because we're always trying to just you know we're not it's not Ricky from a hat and job because just coming off the couch you know what I mean it's uh and year round so uh you kind of learn a lot like that boy shout out Ricky Hutton how's your Legend uh he absolutely is and then Dara obviously uh I'm not gonna lie I was a bit surprised when I saw you back fighting on Clan Wars uh obviously you wanted to keep yourself active uh just tell when you're making you know the 25 125 lists on ESPN and stuff for that the top Bellator are going to keep you a bit more active were you disappointed that you didn't get another fight in Bellator uh between now and the last fight and uh how happy you and grateful were you to get the fight on Clan Wars to keep that keep yourself active all right well obviously I would have preferred to get you know all my fights on Bellator but like last year I only got the two in and I just I just I was grateful just to get three in this year so I didn't really mind where it was and you know a lot of my amateur fights are on Clan Wars anyway so it was kind of I kind of liked going back and doing more with them too at the same time yeah someone even say you're the king of Clan Wars star the king is on September 23rd in Dublin's tree Arena one of the most iconic Arenas in the world Ralph yeah it actually is on like look let's let's probably address the elephant in the room that like you know all the talk and immediate moments that battle tourism for sale people are talking about pfl Boyner who knows whether someone else is going to come in and buy it and obviously Saudi money has now been invested in pfl as well so like who knows what's gonna happen next but uh I'm gonna start with yourself Karen you're uh this is the last 40 year contract so do you feel like this this one adds a bit of pressure on you that uh if you enter a free agency that uh you want to keep that album on your record yeah well I mean like I said you know I signed a two-yard contract in November 21 so obviously November 23 will be open but then obviously with them been sold and stuff you don't know what's uh you know what's headier or what's going on you know so um but like that you know as much as a great conversation likes to serves or anyone could have and like I said before of all human it's great to have it but all I know is I have another man to beat now next week and like that right if he's still on the beat than having his chat which is uh or seeing what's next Friday to be you know the very far are still continuing or whatever like I said I can't download we actually can't even talk really because like that we have a fight and it is very hard because none of us know you know so um yeah I suppose maybe if you want unfortunate as well die in one month I suppose you have to complete the job in front of you before you can worry about anything else like you you have a fight book next week and that's sort of where your focus is and do you find it at all a distraction or anything with the toxic promotion or are you just concentrating going out there and doing doing whatever he does best yeah well like as Kieran says we have to go out and beat the monofront this and then you know as long as we can stay undefeated it's you know there's going to be options there first like uh no matter they always say you know one door closes another opens as long as we're looking good on paper and putting in the good performances I'm sure we'll get the opportunities wherever they're going to come from yeah absolutely absolutely uh let's just want to say like Bellator right like what they've done for this country for MMA has been like unbelievable like the what they when the way they come in they've done so many shows they put a lot of like given a lot of people uh jobs work like there's been like some memorable nights like like looking for instance even a Peter queenie's walkout is like one of the most talked about walkouts in rsma history but it's just uh the way they've had so many of yourselves on the cards like uh progressing your careers like you can't put just like tank Bellator for what they're doing as well and now that Perry is now aligning up first of 23 23rd and a win for both years there you'd go forever no care and you go eight no like like myself and Ross massive MMA fans like kieran's fighter owned like unmissable and Derek Kelly like the way you've got their right up in ESPN as well like two two of the hardest free agents potentially on the RSM may seem Ross yeah absolutely like the The Lads there couldn't just speak for themselves and I can't wait to see them employ the trade one more time in front of that a Ruckus home crowd in the three Arena I know they'll be out okay [Applause] there'll be plenty of people down there from drogheda and their Earth Knight Global got played in chalk that way or is it is it Earth oh it's territory all right there we go I'll make sure I got the wrong one yeah and then uh I'm sure there'll be a few movillians down uh damn does he uh do the business but uh goes with the training camp for this uh for this for both years there had a bit of travels uh we'll start with yourself tired we saw yourself off in Thailand and what was that experience like um what sort of bodies did you get to work with over there I mean Nathan Kelly right in Thailand you've seen he's got a good chat with him anyway um yeah we want to turn it down we want the dirt now the the truck was brilliant like we were away for five weeks and uh I focus mostly on my striking that's what I wanted to go out for and uh I think we're hitting pads most days for about Nurse straight and the heat was 39 some of the days it's horrible but I think I I really opened myself up and learned a lot in the Striking department now I I feel like I'm more well-rounded since and even my approach to training since I've come back um I'm maxing it up a lot better did you meet that lovely man from bunkrana while you're out there I did yeah do it again I didn't get more uh get some proper family yeah was that was that noise obviously yeah we're all doing to John Hutchinson who uh John Boy boxing uh as he's known uh who does great work with a variety of people including the loss of Peoria and did he make you feel right at home there uh a fellow doing man ah it was nice catching up off my way for sure like you know he is 20 minutes away from me so it's a it'll be a good link to have in the future and be you know if I could get some proper working from back out again that would be great look yeah he's known to look after the Irish but especially people from Donegal [Laughter] guitar that's it that's it and then uh Daryl all right sorry Karen we saw you Joyride on Lamborghini yeah uh over in Canada Ross or whatever that seemed very very cool yeah yeah it was a great experience that uh like that I just um probably the same as that was probably getting a bit of training in my kind of the last few weeks back in Ireland then yeah the game just got a text one name it was just it was a Wednesday and it was uh Johnny was like how you getting on because I was kind of having a bit with d-load week it was kind of six weeks out and uh he was like I wanna do a bit of training with Connor or Lee and Keen I was like oh yeah dad you got time tomorrow and he was like no it's over in Cairns and France and I was like all right and uh we didn't get to see everyone was booked and within a few hours it was over in France so that was very spontaneous and uh yeah look um yeah I actually we end up staying an extra two days there just with the holiday floor at the last a few weeks ago and uh yeah it was brilliant Lads I mean you know I got to get trained in with Phil so Cliff obviously you know around his boxing coaching uh the other boxing coach Raj obviously um you know and then the biggest thing I talked from within as well was that you know I got in portraitian candy and he's walking on me nutrition for this fight and obviously with the with the way caught and everyone on there genuine you know that way so dramatically he's changed we live in the way like it just I got full blood full blood walk Stone evidence uh you know Texas hands everything just started from scratch with them and just from there he was able to make a plan for me and you know probably feel me training and I really feel I want to see the difference in there and I I'm actually like I'm feeling more energized than I I'm a band's amazing I was afraid of weak bad boy uh yeah just great experience over there and obviously then to be you know around kind of a trains and uh you know I mean just you know even the lifestyle and and like that he was very accommodating with me and Kiefer over there like you know we only did I had fights and he was making sure like we trained twice in the day for you know basically he was getting this good session then but like he was like right last second session for the two boys he was getting the coaches to walk with us and it was brilliant like you know what I mean and then yeah I'm very very grateful for that and it just shows a kind of character and even the lights that I met over there you know yeah absolutely he seems he seems to have a a system in play um and we sort of saw a player on the ultimate um we have bracketown on he spoke very highly of the the setup that they have uh over there with all the variety of coaches put out also we've seen Conor a bit in SBG Ireland as well um what what way does the atmosphere change when like he walks onto the onto the mats on trains you guys because obviously he brings his own sort of Aura I suppose uh maybe start yourself there all right well he definitely brings a big energy right now the room kind of comes to life so um you know most of us probably got anti-mma because the Conor I don't care and you you ever started maybe before that but the legs of me like in some of the boys you get on date a bit later you know probably started because of Conor McGregor so it's uh would you say it's very motivating to even be in the same room as them really and I suppose there's there's aspects of his career that you've almost even tried to emulate with like you know being featherweight and lightweight champ I think uh was it clown wars um so like you know a bit of a few Chom Cham statuses in there for you there the only reason I go back to feather it no show us the carpet both way classes are there for me anyway so we'll see and then here obviously you you've probably trained with Maureen Anthony in France and then you probably train them in a larger group on the matter over in Dublin what what are the differences when you get them more almost on a sort of a one-to-one basis first more when you get them in a large group yeah like that like obviously or um this year was obviously you know but yeah like that it's just you just you know it's it's sometimes you have to kind of pin yourself like no way I'm getting the train and hear a car on you know like that like you know I know and what it started but before Conor's Rose in the UFC all right but um like there's no denying it that like myself and Dara wouldn't be you know I'm able to be trained full-time fight for Bellator and that's of course there to like you know the opportunities it can be wave to your coach John and and uh Bellator of course but like I don't think like you know like even the two of us been under sort of losers and that like you know to be you know to promote things like that and and I think that's all there in the corner like the the the um you know the only brought to this Sport and even like you know to show that it's not just and this is what I love as well like I think Ireland has a great um you know understand of it you know even like some points go to the ground and like your head Pops at the guillotine that you know the they can appreciate the sport you know the way where's the resolver the states and that like they don't really you know you just find blood in good support and then uh yeah like it's not it's not so much you're a cage fighter anymore foreign if he's racing tonight before us because he's spotting the next day and I really notice things of that like you know like you know the boy they might have a race day and then the next day it's Byron whereas like I might have trained the night before and like I'm coming in 75 whereas he's coming in 100 mentally sharp and just learn the things that like it was it was it was massive for me you know and uh like that it was great to be involved and then you know even for him to even trust me to be around a bit even hard to you know to be bringing me over there I was brilliant you know yeah yeah Kieran just before we move on like I I noticed he put a story up on his Instagram and it showed that like the gym was like downstairs in the boat uh can you sort of describe what way that sort of looked because like from the outside looking in like it looked absolutely like mental yeah so I think that that's that's the LA that's the old Instagram for it that I don't know if you're I definitely wasn't trained on the boat okay right yeah yeah yeah yeah uh that was just like a it was like it looked like an underground gym but it was like just it was like like a basement gym but like it was a proper sweat box like that gym like we just had to use to that for the two weeks or whatever but uh no it definitely wasn't on the boat yeah or something I was like I was like I was like Jesus that's a very big gym and yeah but I like look you wouldn't be shocked either you wouldn't be shocked just like with something else actually haven't had this conversation yet but it feels like the whole irishma scene is like almost gone full circle the way like Conor's coming back so Ian Gary train with Connor uh like yourselves like on the feet of photos Donnie McCormick now and picked the champion uh bragatona winning 12th like the basically team team our own team at McGregor there uh the way the underage amateurs are doing fantastic in the Omas it seems like the whole orange amazing is like it's definitely moved on to a different level just from the outside looking in Ross would you agree yeah definitely sure like I think irishma is thriving now if not more then never has and I think like obviously when Conor became champ and they became a champion or even when he came interim Trump like obviously he had more eyes on sport but uh like I think now I think as a collective like the talents at an all-time high I think the amount of like Top Class Fighters that we have in this country and saying I think if you actually look at it like pound for pound population for population like we could be potentially the best fighting country in the world like if you actually think of what there's like five million people in Ireland and the amount of Fighters that we have fighting on on the big promotions I'm winning in on the big stages I think is absolutely insane yeah but just even the way there's more people going to the UFC to talk about UC Dublin's like which with the parallels here will definitely be won again on uh if they're allowed get on at that uh then like they're like the pfl come to Dublin cage Warriors come to Dublin like Bellator Dublin happening as well um it's just it's just really really hitting up and this is uh why we love covering the sport yeah but Ireland is the European MMA Hole by the looks things under that like the three arena is like hey you wouldn't you might not have thought about it maybe like 10 years ago but like now it's an arena like every single person in the world wants to fight in which is almost bizarre but uh that that's what it's like so maybe I'll uh ask Lads Karen what's the logic making that walk and three Arena because that everyone all across the world wants to make that walk yeah no it's like that you said it's just became the home of European MMA especially for about Authority I think zero map you know Leon Edwards are so Fame and Edwards and so funny but World titles I mean what they have there you know and then obviously on the feet and they're crazy bring up and stuff and no that's it we would be definitely one of the best fighting Nations you know I know it's hard to go back versions and add the only maps and stuff but genuinely like when you have the likes are like Daryl is part of their Ryan coming up like he's only 18 out I'm not even you know he's only finished school I mean like he's you know serious talent coming through and then the likes of like say you know which is I think is one of the biggest you know biggest promises coming at the gym would be Gary Rooney just got kind of pro soon and like the boys the limit really you know like that as you said it's it's down to a this country Robin and the gyms all around it's hard to floating also um and it's become you know what would you say a vocalist for most workers they want to fart in Ireland and even seeing like how Paris well Paris don't know that's another place maybe people want to put it open um like that it's a different vibe I think um Ireland and there yeah it shows really you thought the four of us have been there and obviously be serving Daryl are the performers and they're you know that's why that's why we're loving to come back you know what about yourself there what you make of making the walk in Dublin's tree arena is it anything like walking down the main street in Melville it comes close comes close now like it's you know I went to all the shows I seen kiermek is is pro debut in there when I was a fan up in the stands you know telling myself one day hopefully I'll get i'll get in there like you know so it's like it's a dream come true and it's it's uh it's a perfect scenario for me to be able to get my my Pro debut in there as well and if out there and I already three times like um it's a perfect way to start your pro career and hopefully whatever way it goes now after the show hopefully we'll get a few more in there yeah yeah I definitely think what Bellator has done for the orange amazing you can't look back and go like they put on some umbily bushels and they're giving some unbelievable opportunities so like I think they were the first show at first um people to give us a meeting Dinosaurs Aren't They uh well actually it was like about it was Obama on Bellator co-production I think yeah event we went to so I don't know whether we got Transformer but yeah but it was one of the first ones we went to as media members so yeah that was that was always cool as well and like they're always reading noise to us when we were there so like contact and obviously they've got some world-class foyers there as well and what do you guys make of the main event obviously yeah Fabian Edwards is going to fight uh Johnny Eblen for the middleweight title like what a high quality fight uh obviously Fabian Edwards brother of Leon Edwards and he was UFC welterweight champion it could be it will be a kill scene if Fabian became Champion that you know two champions in two different organizations Brothers what'd you make of that foreign obviously Johnny's wrestling is uh fairly Elite level um yeah no I think it's a very interesting for you um it's it's actually very 50 50 for me I couldn't really uh call it really but yeah because I think faving's so dangerous you know he's so dangerous and on the ground you know he's just he's vicious you know like even Them Up Kicks that finish he had from the upcakes and you know dangerous everywhere I bought then again Johnny Alvin like it's very hard to count them out and I'm actually a big fan of him he's he's quite a lover style but uh it's a top tough one but I I'd be really far you know the whole story of the shoe boy the world that'd be great to get yeah absolutely one of his health Tower what do you make what you make your main event I I would like to see Fabian Do It um partly because of the two brothers becoming world of Champions and both organizations but uh I just don't see him getting the job done I think uh I think Johnny's wrestling's gonna be just but too much I think it's because uh he's a long time friend in the show so I can't pick against him uh well I have another question for you guys obviously you know anytime Bellator rolls into town like SPG represent the card very heavily and like it's always great to see some of your Irish talent and someone's talented of noise Jim um who else on the card and you can't pick each other now are you looking forward to going there and see see the other thing from SPG start yourself Carol um straight off the back just just those fresh train from there today will probably be as hell um there's serious serious Talent you know like talking about like Damon Edwards and things everywhere that's that's who it is for me as well like he's there he's a he's silent for the weight class very very good everywhere you know and um him him and train between uh Harrison and us like you know he really brings in that fresh every time he comes back and just a new version of himself and uh yeah I think he's a serious serious type I don't have to say anything and uh that's just off my head obviously but um yeah it's I'd say that guys you can be flashing that fella uh Everyone likes a bit of flash uh what about yourself Tara uh the fight I'm most looking forward is probably Kenny and your man Josh O'Connor is it yeah because you're you know both guys are five and all um it's just an exciting match up and somebody's always got to go yeah absolutely [Music] um like even the co-main Aaron Pico against Pedro caveo uh the scrunch your hair snake having us on the card there's actually like 11 SPG photos in the card here and let's see Brian Moore that's what you just mentioned there and Nicoli solely uh Peter created like the most world's most iconic workout uh Charlie Ward Karen Clark there Kelly never heard of them apocalypse sorry if I bought you that name uh Azeal and yeah I'm pretty sure I named everyone there you didn't man you forgot if you've got one more favorite foyers man I can't believe it he's gonna he's gonna be he's gonna drive a formal expert to get you man what's everyone more oh I don't think he did man don't think it is number one [ __ ] like I mean that's why we're looking forward to on Saturday weekend also uh shout out to Ross the artist Cardwell for making that uh unbelievable photo of all the 11 photos from SMG competing on the card that was Unreal Ross yeah well look I I can only I can only work with what I have on there but allowed to have some serious pictures so uh it makes my life easier when someone has cool clean quality photo but like yeah that's really looking forward uh Buzz give us a fight there that you're looking forward to out of the lads well I mean I I don't want to be obvious but the the main reason why we picked the two lives come on the shows not only because uh we're big fans of them but like we're looking forward to seeing them fight but I have to give a shout out to charity Ward like that fella is a dangerous dangerous man in there [Applause] I think that's that's a really interesting facet for uh this card and I'm looking forward to seeing Dara Kelly uh Implement some of those uh new stroking uh techniques that he learned over there in Thailand and then uh I just think Pedro was incapable of being in a boring fight on him versus Aaron Pico was something that is going to be insane um with that being said I don't know if that hurt me there but I said I'm looking forward to you to uh seeing that new striking develop over in Thailand I think you will see a few flash head kicks has been thrown in here let's have a to my toy box I'm looking forward to showing off some of the the new weapons that I acquired I suppose you'd say and just a better well-rounded version of myself look anyone who's ever been at a bellatorium they know the crowd will be on their feet it will be uh an absolute wild show and uh look SPG Ireland has a chance to go 11-0 on the night all the fighters what's the record what's the record I think last time there was 11 wasn't there the last time it was eight more I think maybe eight Moon I think yeah I think uh here's world but I think that might have enough um I'm not too sure that maybe quite normal I don't know if Andy hickey was here you tell us exactly what the what the uh record of SPG photos on Battle tours open was [Music] yeah exactly um that's just before we wrap things up here on is there anything you want to say to other people tune in and they're going to be going to the event support yourself in Dublin only like 40 minutes 45 minutes then the road rideable from the three Iran enemies so it's not like you know but um like that fully aware like all over the years he used to be a Friday people taking off work come and support me so hey happy can't be more grateful for that support and continued you know the way it's still going and still going strong so thanks for everyone dad what about yourself
