[Music] All right, everyone. This uh this channel's no or Yeah, this channel is no stranger to Mr. Jordan Skully here. Um first of all, congratulations. Uh please describe to us uh what it's like to have that on your shoulder, that big, beautiful belt. Uh look, you know, I uh I took this fight on short notice. I was actually doing a training camp in Poland and the promotion messaged me about fighting Malik on short notice and uh you know he obviously he's a fantastic fighter. I have nothing but respect for him. World silver medalist, European bronze medalist. He's beaten me before and to be honest I just came in here with a hunger and a bit of vengeance for revenge, you know. And uh look, I'm happy to get that one back and uh I hope he comes back fit and healthy again. He's a phenomenal fighter, a great person. nothing but respect for Malik and uh you know I'm just I'm very happy with my performance but still loads to improve on. Okay. Um I was going to bring that up that you two had fought before. So like was there anything you did differently for this fight uh than you did your most recent. What was it? My last fight with him. Yeah. H look it was my first fight of SPG and I was out a year as well. Look, it could have ring rush could have been a factor like but look, I'm glad that he beat me at that time cuz it if it wasn't for him beating me at that time, I wouldn't have gone on to achieve what I've gone on to do. So, you know, I I can't thank him enough for that as well. And, you know, he's a phenomenal fighter. Nothing but respect for him. Absolutely. Now, did you have um did you have kind of like a plan A coming into this or My plan was just to make it as dirty as possible. I knew I could take his back and I knew once I got his back he wasn't getting out of it and that's no disrespect to him but any anyone any very good on the ground any jiu-jitsu black belt even the lads in Poland anyone will tell you that I have a phenomenal back game and nine times out of 10 if I take your back I'm either finishing you or you're not getting out of there and that was my game plan just to make it relentless dirty and obviously he uh he he dropped me at no sorry obviously at the start he uh he took me down but I didn't let it get to me. I was like, "Okay." And I could hear him breathing. And once I heard that, I was like, "You're going to put a pace on him now." And that's just what I did. I made it dirty and I just made it relentless. He did have it was a beautiful taked down from like a seated position. Yeah. Which was ridiculous. That was it was that was it was so like I didn't even know what I saw until like uh like I had to process the whole thing. But it it was it was beautiful. He did it from a seated position and he landed he he did a uh um he got like a perfect takedown like that. That was to be honest. It just kind of threw me out. I didn't expect him to shoot straight away. I was kind of like what the [ __ ] And then he took me down but I was like okay just don't let him take her back. Just take your time and wait for him to get tired. Cuz even when he had my back, I was still hitting him. I was like I was moving. I was scoring the damage. But look, I'm happy I got to fight him again. And who knows, maybe we do a trilogy again. I I give him a trilogy. He was willing to uh he was willing to fight me again. So, you know, if there's any other show that wants to match us up again, you know, I believe we're the two best amateurs in Ireland. So, if you want to make that trilogy, let's make it happen. Nothing but respect. Amateur, the best should be fighting the best. Hell yeah. Um, so I I was sat cage side, right? And I heard a little uh call it banter between you two and you two are on the ground. What What were you saying to each other? To be honest, I can't remember. I uh I I don't know to be honest. Maybe he remembers. I don't remember. But uh no, we shook hand, we hugged it out, and you know, the two of us like I'd consider them like an acquaintance, a friend, obviously. You know, we've both been on team Ireland together and that, but you know, it's all respect at the end of the day. I wish him nothing but the best. 100%. Um, no, it it was just fun to hear the uh dare say like, you know, camaraderie in the middle of a round, you know, like you guys are like you're having fun. Like it's not personal. It's just like it's business, you know. It's a It's a glorified sparring round. Yeah, exactly. But the two of us have grown from this fight and we're only It's only going to make the two of us better just like the first fight. So, you know, I'm sure he's going to come back a million times better from this fight just like I did with the first fight. You know, when he beat me, I went on to win the IMAP. So, who knows? Maybe he'll go on to win the IMAPs now. You know, but knowing him, he's good enough, too. Anyways, so, you know, he he's he's very good. Unbelievable. Yeah. And uh I I love watching you two because you guys are both uh ground guys and you know a jiu-jitsu guy myself, you know, you know, I like watching that. Um so it was cool to see you guys uh get together. I mean, you were throwing strikes, but it wasn't um uh you know, it wasn't like a stand up. There was very little like, you know, kind of stand up boxing or, you know, one twos here and there. I I actually planned on striking him a little bit, but he just shot at me. I was like, "Okay, yeah, you're going to grapple." Yeah, you know, I was going to strike over a little bit, but look, he threw me off guard and uh who knows, maybe it was a good thing he threw me off guard cuz, you know, there was a uh you took his back and then he kind of did like a like a slam, but he like slammed on your shoulder. Yeah. Uh how did you plan on doing that or did it just happen or uh No, you remember? No. No, I didn't even plan it. It just uh just going going with the flow, you know? No, it it it was fantastic to watch as always. Um and look, uh can if you can do or I'm asking everyone this, if you can give someone um who's interested in, you know, joining their local gym, but maybe they just don't have uh they're still, you know, they're too nervous or whatever. What What piece of advice would you give to them? Honestly, MMA has changed my life. It's made me into the person I am today. You know, I've had good times. I've had bad times. I've had, you know, I've been through adversity. I've come back and I've gone on to do great things. So my the point I'm trying to make is it'll change your life and it'll better you as a person overall and you'll gain confidence from it. Just this is from my experience now. Joining MMA has truly changed my life. And you know for anyone else I don't know if it would do the same. I'm sure it would. But that's all I can say to people. It'll make you gain confidence and it'll change your life just like it changed mine. So if you're interested in gaining confidence or you know joining a local MMA gym, just uh the hardest step is h it's ste Yeah. stepping foot in the door. So once you get that out of the way, you know, you're smooth sailing from there. Absolutely. Hey man, excellent. Look, um I I appreciate your time. Thank you very much. Congratulations again and I can't wait to see you fight again. Thank you very much. And guys, I'll see you in four weeks on a hell yeah. Let's go. All right. Let's do it, man. Appreciate it. Thank you very much. Yes, sir. Come back. Let's go.
