Hey everyone, uh welcome Gladiator Fighting Championship. I have here Mr. Ben Lonale. Uh sir, congratulations. >> Thank you very much. >> Um talk to me about it. That that was a pretty dominant performance. Um you looked very very comfortable on the on the on the ground there. Uh just talk to me about it. I think uh I'm actually more of a sterger. I think it was just the nerves got to me and I was like screw this. I'm not standing here. This guy's trying to take my head off. So end up taking down first round. It seemed to work. So I just went back to it both rounds and 30 26 I just gave him wasn't about cuz I was shaking upstairs. That was the worst feeling. Worst feeling ever upstairs. >> Yeah. Well um for not being a uh for not being a ground or excuse me for being a striker, your ground game were great. Um you were able several times um uh there was takedown attempt uh by your opponent and you were able to push him to the wall and then you know drag it down to the ground and you were able to get on top and maintain that position. Is that something practice? >> Yeah, 100%. Like I'm training with such big strong guys every day of the week. Like there's another eight people after me here who all throw me about. So once it does come to these situations and I can keep grappling and if I don't get the first kick down and go for the second, third, just grind it out a bit more like >> Right on. >> Yeah. >> Um what what was it like? Okay. So you're a stand up guy. >> Yeah. >> Um you have a what was it kind of your expectation coming into this fight? >> Uh I I don't really know cuz there's nothing really on him at all. I think he's like a he was an amateur debut but I know he done a lot of you know underage stuff like underage thing stuff like that all sort of saw but >> don't know I was kind of just wanted to get over and done with like it was a hard 10 weeks there training for it and yeah once he went in there I just like I looked across the case I was like this guy's some nick like he's big big lab he had a bit had a heightened reach advantage for sure >> yeah yeah he was massive sleeper pill didn't expect that rip leg but yeah just once I took him down, I was like, he's not he's not as strong as like I uh >> as you anticipated. >> Yeah. Yeah. I thought he was going to just rag on me, but >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> Well, you like I said, you were able to maintain the top position. Um and there were several times he uh tried to buck you off or even go for a slight sweep and um you were able to defend that very well. >> Yeah. Well, I could hear coaches Donnie and EMTT. They're both encyclopedias as Louis probably would say. >> Absolutely. >> Yeah. So, I they they were predicting it for me. I was just listening. V just told me to keep my ears open and they were let me know when the bump was coming and they got it right every time. Yeah. >> Right on. Um so speaking of your corners there like what what's it like um being in the cage and then you know kind of have to you have to pick out their voices. Is that difficult for you to do amongst the crowd or >> the most confusing part was we're both called band there. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> So it's kind of like >> who's calling for who. >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. No, I can. >> Yeah. Donny's had my corner loads of times and it's you know I'm just bringing holidays and all that but like I when he says I just listen to him like he's one real guy real fighter and yeah I could just pick them up I'm with them six seven days a week so I just know exactly what they wanted off me and >> heck yeah >> um like what what's something you learned out of this like what's something you're taking away >> just you know I know I was so horrendously nervous I tell myself up there before walk the last time ever doing this like I'm not fighting again >> how many fights have you had That's my third amateur fight. >> Okay. >> Had a couple novice. But yeah, I've got like these boys are all beast. Like I've got exam 9:00 a.m. in the morning. Like I have to go home revise. So >> at least you didn't take any uh terrible shots to the head. >> Yeah, you're right. You're right. >> That would have been that would have been bad. >> Would be a good excuse. But to get out of it, but >> you know, I love these guys in this club. These are best mates. Like in one minute away from a house like I'm just there every day. Like moments like these are all worth it. Just hope the rest of the boys all go out and show it to the will. Right on. Uh, so you know what's next year looking like for you? What what are you are you going to try and uh fight some more? Like what's going on? >> I'll see what happens. I'll see what happens. Me and Louis Polly says we're going to we're going to eyeball, but we'll see if we'll see if that goes ahead and February there's another show on Black here. I might jump on that. See See how much you enjoy Christmas first. >> All right. Right on. Um, yeah. Do you have anything you want to say or shout out? >> Just big thanks to the team. Like couldn't do it without them. You know, we look up to them all like they're heroes, man. It was good to get the win for him today. That's that's for my team. >> Heck yeah. All right. Look, I appreciate it. Uh appreciate your time. Thanks so much. Until next time. Okay. >> All the best. >> All right. See you. >> Thanks.
