Energized Show hosts preview Cage Warriors 152 and UFC 287 with Cage Warriors lightweight champion George Hardwick ahead of his April 15 Manchester title defense. Hardwick says he was surprised to draw a KSW import he had not heard of, calls Kyle Driscoll the best all-round opponent he has beaten, and warns the challenger is more dangerous for finishes and grappling, with six submission wins. He discusses camp without his brother Harry, who missed a London booking after a neck injury from a wizard throw and is returning to rounds, plus productive spars with Midas Flamin and division rival James Power. Hardwick notes his current Cage Warriors run has been at London’s Indigo O2, previews a five-round chess match against an explosive opponent, and says his recent left hook to the body has been decisive even when he wanted other finishes. He stays signed to CW 152 while acknowledging possible UFC London timing around July 21–22, wants three or four fights a year, and picks Alex Pereira over Israel Adesanya at UFC 287 and Gilbert Burns over Jorge Masvidal, with both Burns and Masvidal deserving a Leon Edwards title shot for different reasons.

foreign [Applause] are you intoxicated or something introduce the guest now today we have the cage Warriors lightweight champion everyone's favorite Hardwick it's George Hardwick George how you doing I'm doing very very well just had a good little God Hand session best game ever the PS2 beat em Up game you just go around beating everyone up a bit of mental training for me to get me prepped for sparring tonight it's one of the last harder hard Spas tonight so I'll just put a bit of God Hand in just to warm up the neurons in my brain so I'm pretty ready yeah George think Harry will be devastated though said you were everyone's favorite Hardwick um to protect the heart you know he's used to it he's used to it we should get a poll going who's everyone's favorite Hardwick yeah absolutely uh everyone will vote for our oldest brother yeah but no one knows his names on scram don't worry about it George Harry or the other one you have to put Leon in there for the crack as well yeah yeah Leon Hardwick all right sorry uh George obviously we have you on it in the build up to cage where I was 152 with Manchester uh it's a lovely card you're already headlined against yeah and the ass um tells this were you surprised when his name was on the other end of the contract yeah it's very surprising um you know I hadn't really heard of him before because of where he's fighting spot in in Europe he's from ksw yeah but looking at his record he's very skilled I think I don't think he's as all-rounded a good fighter as Kyle Driscoll I think Kyle Driscoll is the best name I've faced he's the best fighter I've been most complete most experienced fighter I've beat I don't think he's as good all around as Driscoll but I think he's more dangerous in terms of finishing ability pulling a finish pulling a hard shot pulling a submission out which makes it a different proposition so I've had this question yeah UFC this UFC that I just had to block it out because there's this guy and he's very dangerous hmm yeah definitely obviously this guy's got six with Mission wins yeah he he's uh obviously quite dangerous on the mat so that's uh something something newer to you I suppose uh than the last couple of opponents also uh funny enough in the co-main event is the person who beat in the last boy there Chris bungardt so I'd say that's a rare occurrence that uh you're on the same car as your opponent's Main Event co-main Event but um tell us this were you surprised there was no Contender from cage Warriors that got selected it's very rare the cage Warriors bring someone in for a title fight yeah in terms of um I'm trying to think of similar situations they're brought in jatty when Jesse fought Matt Bonner but I can't think of as many situations like that but I didn't want the best ones yeah so that's that's why I can't look past him I can't look personally asking yeah definitely not uh just to let anyone know who is watching there's some other great um Fighters fighting on the card uh Rhys McCune James power and um Chris price is on the car as well um yeah um I haven't actually seen Adam Cullen or uh Nathan Fletcher get opponents yet which is uh which is strange so uh also money ackman's pointing there Crazy Horse on the scars out so like comparison to some pretty uh great voice to watch so uh I'm definitely looking forward to it uh it should be a goal but obviously George you're a headline and another uh yeah forget about all them even though they're all great but forget about all them George obviously you're in the headline in the spot um are you getting used to this head headline and spot on um tell us this every time we talk to you are you getting more and more famous around the burra uh oh occasionally have someone ask her for a picture rarely it's it's a manageable level I wouldn't want it to be every two steps but then again yeah I'm just I'm just looking to build the following enough to get free parmals and then that's it it's a dream that's the dream we're back on that Parables and obviously Harry was supposed to fight in in London and then a rare a rare put out there um how's he doing by the way he's doing he's recovered really well he's recovered really well because what happened was he was training someone goes for a wizard throw on him like a big lad and Harry goes like spikes onto his head and then he's it's a bit of an injury and it's affecting him but he's very much out of turn through I'll turn through a turn through it and that was a mistake because it just made it way worse I think if that if the time it happened if it was just I'll take one week I won't wrestle I won't Spa just do cardio or whatever then it would have been fine but it's so hard to do that when you're fighting you know you're training for someone who's gonna try and take you down and take your head off to think well I'm not gonna wrestle tonight I'm gonna do something else instead but yeah it was just a neck injury and then try to turn through it which aggravated but he's he's getting back to rounds he's getting better now yeah um was he able to help you as much as you normally would trade this camp well so you know I kind of put my holding pads for a bit but you're more all give him more time to oversee the rounds because a lot of the time you wouldn't be overseeing the rounds because he's doing the rounds himself so it's it's a benefit in that way and he's got back into rounds now plus I've had loads of different good training Partners kind of outside the box training Partners training with madas Flamin has got a bunch of Realms with Midas absolutely brilliant training partner and uh you just mentioned James power I've had a lot of sports well I've had a couple of sparring sessions with James power excellent training sessions so I've had a lot of really good rounds of uh Camp even without Harry but Harry's coming back for the last few rounds yeah we did actually see you train with James power who I think is misses a pregnant at the moment so I congrats to him on that as well um what what was that rounds like because obviously uh you know I know he's probably at a younger stage of his career than you are but you know is it is it ever strange training with someone in your division who is eventually going to look for what you have I don't know I'm not too I'm not too fussed about and too weird I'm not trying to think oh okay I've got to put my hands on him in this session because we could fight Edge isn't later I'm not I'm not too bothered I've got more of like a but it's a lot more common in Muay Thai you know where people have trained before because I have so many fights and they're not it's not as a big thing and then it's not the other end of the spectrum where you know two people have trained with each other done a few rounds or shared of a packet of hobnobs and then suddenly the best buddies well I've had some really good uh sparring sessions with them uh I'd want to spar with them more obviously because he's a really good Southpaw we ask you fight South Pole quite a bit which is an interesting wrinkle to the whole fight Camp preparation but yeah James power really skilled I think he's fighting comparis or I've got a lot of tips to give him a lot of Insider info and he's good he's shared a bit of knowledge with me really productive because this can be hard when you get to this level finding good training Partners who know how to push you but not take the piss you know and not just go to walk as what's the point spending your body in the gym you don't get paid to take lumpsy out of each other in the gym yet we got our rounds in very high Pace very good technique but we're not we're not putting each other out the fight if you know what I mean no no of course of course uh and another thing on this one is correct me if I'm wrong George but have you fought your entire cage Warrior's career in London yeah yeah well actually actually not my first cage Warriors fight was against Modesto Communists and that was in Birmingham and then they had the two fights in Bellator and came back to cage Warriors okay so on this current run you've only fought in London yeah it's all been Indigo yokol BT now you're in Manchester which is probably a little bit closer to home um do you think you'll have more of a crowd for this one no one that's closer to the Brewer um possibly I don't know how much different they are train wise in terms of time and the trends but possibly I don't know I've just been training and spamming content out but it'll be interesting to fight in Manchester normally you want to fight in London I'd go around all the markets after and eat everything so I'm gonna have to find out what the markets are in Manchester James I'll tell you no James power uh no well he's he's yours no he trains in my he trains in Manchester but he's Wakefield base I think yeah he breeds wakey wines for a butler Prime The Tick Tock Sensation that is where you Orient uh George you've become a bit of a tick tock sensation yourself um you're breaking down fights constantly um has this added to your game do you feel or is it something that you were doing just not online as much I'll just you know it helps in all the different ways I put breakdowns and stuff out and it helps people understand the spot a bit better and then you know it's a plus to get a few followers and get you know there's people been people coming to the gym because I've seen a few tick tocks and that that's brilliant I do enjoy just the video editing it's quite a chilled process talking about fights editing videos answering questions because you get some bizarre questions on there yeah it's just it's just a nice little time sync do you prefer doing it by yourself or when you have Harry there as well um depends you know sometimes I'll do a live with Harry and then afterwards I'll download the live and clip up the questions from that I'll just do it in different ways I've got no organized structure to it I'm not very like super professional with it all I just have an idea do it have an idea do it I thought oh that was on the live I'll clip that out no fair enough like it's very entertaining like I have people compliment you on it myself so like uh people come to me with George Hardwick on Tick Tock is class I'm like well he is like there's no deno in it so yeah fair play to man like it's it's the new wave you know I mean I think we've only really recently sort of come on to take talk ourselves so uh it's it's where all the cool kids are at these days George yeah look at me yeah super cool just come off a session of God Hand yeah and PS2 PS2 like yeah old school that retro that Retro Game in life you know um we'll go on George we'll get it we'll get into the fight give us a breakdown of this point how did you ever see this one playing out so the acid is very dangerous so obviously I can't just can't just walk straight into it there's got to be a few adjustments I'm not I'm not going to give away all the adjustments but yeah yeah you know there'll be uh it might be a bit more mixing it off the approach in its exact issues might be different but I think the result will still come down the same especially in a five round five five round favors me he likes to explode and take his time explode with something you know like his flying knee his big left hand a big left kick then take his time explode take his time like in this fight with that long uh Mega Med manga made of the most wrestlery sounding name ever he was like get the get the clinch and he would do a good job to break get back to his feet finally get up and make a little bit of space but there was no I've got to get him back now this is when he's breathing hard he's just use all this effort to take me down I've got to get him now there was none of that there was kind of just okay okay back in the off so he likes that kind of pass obviously I'm not going to give it to him that kind of piss and if it makes it to round four and five it's just gonna get worse and worse for him yeah do you sort of Envision a sort of maybe round three and four you're really turn up that pressure on him and if he can I mean he's only going to be there if you can survive yeah it's there's a part of me that's now thinking okay after this it could be the UFC so aren't finishes in the first three rounds but you know you can never force it you can never force him yeah well like that left that left hook to the body has been absolutely golden uh for the last few fights so uh hopefully we can continue to see that on there those body shots play great impact as well when people get tired yeah to be fair some of these fights especially the last fight I was kind of disappointed that it was a body shot because I had other shots in mind I thought I was gonna it was gonna be an uppercut or a knee in the middle and I was obsessed with uppercuts all that fight Camp there was a body shot again because that's just what he gave uh there's no thought process I'm gonna land this great body shot you just arm pings out lands in the right spot whilst you're taking the breath at the wrong time and it just does a good job [Music] uh George we're also we also have to ask you about um UC was back in London there recently I know you're um has to be on the previous UC London card report there is talks now I've used to come back on July 22nd and there is also a cage Warriors card on the July 21st and the Friday like like how far into the future are you looking and are you looking at that being a possibility on voiding either in cage Wars or on the UFC I'm keeping it in mind but I'm signed to this fight I've got a for all my preparation and Knack of my body as much as I need to to win this fight get off the fence George William get off the fence what you know you're asking me about stuff where I could easily I could easily win the fight but body kick an elbow you know what I mean but yeah I think uh I'll put it this way last time you're on you're talking about fight schedule what a fight in july fit in the George Hardwick fight schedule perfect yeah because obviously we want three or four fights a year and then that's a nice even spacing you know it's been a bit like it's a bit late getting the first fight of the year in April last year it was March it was sound early mid-march yeah there is times when when your Champion were hindered and I think sometimes the void schedule can be hindered by being a champion because obviously you're lined up the headline of cards therefore sometimes you might get pushed out a month uh because they're like right well we need is to headline that card as opposed to when you're not the champion you can probably fill in more spots yeah yeah I know what yeah I know what you mean yeah but you know I'm disturbing for these three fight years well hopefully oh do we have do you have a surprise [Laughter] uh half four all right we've done two minutes we'll be doing a few minutes spoil the party just a couple minutes you're bad get on this you should have been on this card what a groover what a groover you know he's everyone's favorite dancing Hardwick you know he's not too Tick Tock too much for us yeah yeah he films this whilst he's taking a [ __ ] though most of the time yeah if you notice uh can you leave that for only fans and just where we get on to more things that's uh K drawers 152 Manchester April 15th watch George Hardwick defend his belt in the arena if you want to get into tickets get out to George but you can also watch it on uc4 pass um we also have to discuss UC 287 because uh it's going down in Miami in the April 8th uh George you're the champion I really want to point out your opinion this Alex Pereira is taking on Israel out of Sanya for the middleweight title the thing is Alex Pereira has beaten them three times yeah three times once anime toys kickboxing how does it like how do you look at this fight now because like Israel Alexander saying it's his last chance to Foy Alex Pereira I I tell you it was winning the last fight until the very last round well we do you see both Lads going into this fight it's it's kind of a weird thing because most of the exchanges of most of these fights Addison is won in terms of your breakdown each exchange use exchange adasania has won most of them but then again it's not like people give this Narrative of hair has just gone out and chinned him but you know he's done especially in his last fight he's had a lot of like little details that have set it up it's an interesting thing I think in MMA or boxing it's a bigger thing like pro boxing but you could see this a lot more in amateur boxing or Muay Thai it's a much more known thing for people to fight each other again and again and again and again it's like sanchai and singdam for each other like 20 times and both of them coming from kickboxing Muay Thai backgrounds is probably a more normal thing I remember how chill adessanya was even after he lost his belt he wasn't having some hissy fit in terms of uh technically I don't know what different they're going to do I understand you could try and wrestle more but then again because surely he's been he'd be better at that like but that makes the fight boring that's the situation you get into it and he's not a wrestler if he forces wrestling more and more and more he's gonna there's a there's this perfect balance of wrestling enough to make you striking better but if you Foster wrestling you're gonna guess yourself for the Striking especially when you're not really a wrestler at heart that's not his that's not how his energy systems are wired well well uh George there'd be no sitting on the fence Here and Now who are you picking for the win here I'm picking pajera immediate rematches almost never work out so I'm picking Pereira yeah I think I agree I think this one is going to get done earlier I think he'll do it maybe in the third round got the knockout yeah I'd agree with that I'd agree with that somebody what are your thoughts here I understand your decision here are you no I can't even mess around I've been thinking about this all day like I knew it was gonna be Pulled Under Pressure but the Perry is I feel very Under Pressure but how can Pereira win three in a row against one person and then he fights him again and how can I go against it like you have to just go prayer for most of the time when I think someone's gonna win they lose just take your money on how to sign your Lance uh one more point we definitely have to just have to talk about our Lads Gilbert Burns versus Jorge Masada white saying this isn't for a title shot Ross dude do you think uh George I guess George do you think the winner of this should get a title shot against Leon Edwards next I think both of them would deserve it for different ways I think Burns because he's been a more active successful competitor and mad of it all because of the name obviously that's part of the sport part of the entertainment side of it uh if he's fighting Leon Edwards there's so much backstory there there's so much they could sell so there'd be I I wouldn't be surprised that they'd be frothing at the mouth to make that fight in terms of who do I think is going to win this fight especially over a three-rounder I'm thinking Gilbert Burns if it was a five-rounder I think even though majestical is not super fit he's had five round experience and burns is a very put all his energy out there kind of style but um it's awkward because Burns is really good with his takedowns but then mastered dolls take down defense is very very it's very very solid but it doesn't break away too much he can defend takedowns but if someone's just assiduous with it like Covington he doesn't get his break and he doesn't get as many of his chance to work if he can make people tired with his takedown defense and the step back you can get a bit of working kind of a little bit like he did in the Maya fight but then he he started to fade as well just because of dealing with Maya's physicality and Maya's just darkness on the takedowns if I had to give a pick I'm going to give a pick for burns for this one there we there we have a basil I'm gonna go Burns well I think uh I think he's just better in most places I think Mazda strike would be slowly Slicker but I don't think that's enough uh to keep keep Burns off him for three rounds yeah I'm gonna agree which as well as Gilbert Prince but what card would you think would be better in London UC London Edwards versus Ambassador or Edwards versus Compton which one do you think would be do bigger number slots I think Leon Colby does about 500 000. would you agree or disagree George I have no idea I've never tracked pay-per-view numbers after an event for a vote five years yeah just track Japanese kickboxes there we have a yeah the two big ones everyone's talking about Ross George thanks a million for the breakdown blood you're like it's always great to talk to you and also we cannot wait to see you compete on cage Wars 152 in Manchester on the April 15th from the PC Arena and live in UFC Fight Pass yeah it's going to be an epic one George can't wait to you better let you go before Harry comes in and starts kicking the uh door down and
