undefeated legends from ireland boom floyd academy ireland it's matthew elliot i'm from team kf it's ryan shelley lads how you doing unreal we're doing good good luck thanks for having us on it's great to have you on that lads this this boy is one that i am licking my lips watching on uh honestly i was surprised i didn't think that they were trying to match me and ryan shelley i thought they were going to try bill ryan a bit more as well and i think stylistically i'm a horrible fight for him so they'd be perfectly honest i also thought they would have kept two irish boys apart on the belfast card i thought they would have tried personal other actions but i think the way this has kind of been done is we've got two irish boys coming through let's see who's the top dog and then they'd be perfectly honest i do think it's the two best featherweight prospects coming from the contrary i think once you kind of reload the likes of pawn stuff because he's kind of already there out of the boys who are just kind of making waves at the minute coming through it's definitely being around so i'm going to find out who the daddy is you know yeah what do you think when you got matthew elliot's name uh put in front here yeah it was the same i don't know like if did i hear this off someone like i think the both of us were like probably we're getting a like no one would fight us like to be honest with you um i got offered like a big name and i said yeah on my end and then i think he got turned down um and then i heard machu and i was like brilliant a you know serious test for both to be on the card obviously he's being headlined by reese and justin but like whereabouts on the main card you want to see this fight oh i think this could be like not only on the main car i think this could be like third from the third from the main event like i think the main event coming and it could be this one next i think it's like that code of a fight out of all the votes this is the one i'm looking up in like right like this this is a chance for someone to like have a moment uh open belfast and make their mark on the cage warriors roster i really really do firmly believe that well look at the card already who else is there there's a is it harry hardwork he's kind of the only other big name apart from recent justin and then i don't know harry hartwell can get it as well if he wants [Laughter] well what happens is people come into the show uh to promote their fight and then all of a sudden the flight goes and moves higher up the card rats doesn't it yeah what's called either that or a total gets made like that's that's that's what happens on the energy show but i think i think we've made four total fights uh in the last year so like you know i mean i've seen that actually yeah yeah you surprised the girls there last week didn't you yeah has to be done has to be doing you know what i mean like what's called we booked the promoters on the on the back end of things to make make things better so uh you know that's that's just our style that's that's how we roll very appreciated very energized uh rowan matthew touched on it you know i mean he's a black belt in judo and he's got a great wrestling pedigree does that excite you about about this fight and is that a worry for you coming into this fight like it it definitely excites me like you know what i mean because that that grappling style is obviously you know the style where i'm sort of like right you know this is it and even when you look at me last fight with the uh with mighty grave you know like a lot of people were he's not when you look at the third round that that went quick enough like you know he's a striker he once again has he ever done a wrestling competition though this is the thing but when that fight was being yeah but that's the thing it was all oh this guy's a russian wrestler the rest of it just because he's in dagestan he's not only place he's ever trained is gb top 10 he's never wrestled before he's a striker and his two main weapons are spinning back kick and spin a wheel kick and yeah he's fighting the taekwondo world champion he's he's fighting at reigns so he's not going to be able to land them two shots so he's fighting around at his own best game but like he tried to he tried to wrestle me early on and yeah tried tries the keyboard big thing this is this this is the thing it's there's there's a gap there that can't be closed in eight weeks in terms of in terms of wrasse on the ground and that's thanks genuinely i do believe that matthews matches grappling is better than maggie's like you know so again it's another step up and coming oh no question no no question about it and there's there's no question about it i'm i'm the highest level guy you faced and the same goes dude you're you're 404 finishes you're the highest level guy fist but yes but one you you're you're the guy cage worst person so i'm coming to blow your face off let's get stacked as well which which we'd love to see there's great buddies in both gyms and matthew have you ever faced a striker of ryan's caliber and also he's picked up uh and else mission win the el rear naked choke local not the last time i opened the time before and last year yeah do you feel like um his jiu-jitsu might be able to combat any of yours grappling at all well i think in terms of striking i would rate scott patterson as a better striker i think mo like as a more well-rounded striking game i think scott patterson's a better striker ryan's striking is a lot more kicking based out range and in terms of his jiu-jitsu i just thought of bjj black belt my last fight went into the fight with a thorn lcl wasn't training for three weeks before the fight gotten some real bad positions on the ground and put it through if i get if i think ryan's thing here is that he's good on the back but if he gets my back i pull him off like a sticker off an apple that's there's no question about it uh it's gonna be it's gonna it's gonna be a rough night sticker off an apple man guys another thing i will be interested in and like i assume the ssc arena will be the biggest arena both you guys have fought in um will that actually play any effect on you will you be phased by a crowd of maybe up to four thousand people strong that feeds on that that feeds on that's gonna make it better i i play off the crud let's say it's entertainment business isn't it one thing i want to ask you matthew is a cage conflict you came into a high school musical song and you wore your troy bolton uh jersey will there be another spectacular walk out on this occasion this is the thing we were trying to pull out there and somehow smack up a combo which is an absolutely horrific change so i i think i'm just forming a dictatorship here picking me on walkout song but i i have emailed dj casper to see how much he is to fly over the the ssc and perform the cha cha slide live at cageworth but your you're going to be a bit of the hometown favor but like ryan we'll start with you are you bringing many people up with team kf yeah yeah i've got a got a bus coming up full of people so um and like it's sort of like my gang and adam's getting combined and then a crowd from the gym so i'd say expect a good few dogs up there yeah yeah yeah and they're going to be rowdy now though uh how many up like around what number are you thinking here ryan 6070 jeez um what about yourself don't know don't care i genuinely don't care everyone there is going to be on my side i know it's the woman from belfast the majority crowd will be from belfast they'll see a they'll see fighting from belfast north london they'll be on my side so we'll got hometown advantage and it is a thing uh absolutely look guys at the moment the featherweight division it's sort of on ice at the moment we don't know where and when we'll see jordan view tennis next obviously paul use uh unfortunately he's injured at the moment yeah i'm gonna start with yourself right where did you see a win for you here like where does that propel you because that will bring you to five and oh yeah like i think it it puts you up there like but again remember if you listen i didn't interview andy stevenson like i'm not who i'm not concerned i'm just going to take in each fight as it comes and then like let's say next year i'll sort of see what happens but like you know like each fight is as important as the next one so i'm just focusing on this one and you know anything else that happens after that happens but i'm focused on this one for now uh and what about yourself matthew you've already touted rowan as one of the biggest prospects uh in the in the country at the moment so why do you think a win over him what does that do for you i haven't real mapped out mad that there will be two three fights two or three fights after around and as as of the minute i'm just purely thinking about going out there making a statement against ram but there is the thing there in the background two or three fights afterwards and we're calling for a title uh there's absolutely no reason i shouldn't be in the ufc in a year and a half i'm like i spar with jew who's a cage wars world champion that's barbara paul consistently i know how my runs when i'm go i know how my rounds are people in the gym go i know what level i'm i am world class and there's absolutely no reasons within the by 2024 i shouldn't be in the ufc or knock on the ufc store that's before we wrap things up i remember chris fields put out a post being like how coaches shouldn't be more dedicated to the game than their than their students and then i remember uh faoi shared it as well so there is like a like there's a lot of respect between both james and that's why may the best man win and it was great to see the two years come on promote the fight and like at the end of the day you're both chasing the same dream and uh i think both you can get there but like obviously one person's lost another person's gain and that's why cage worries 140 belfast we'll see who's the better better fly away on the night russ he said slightly right away anyways 50 multiplayer yourself with the last word i want to know how do you see the fight going on the night we'll start with yourself matthew ah i'd it's whatever i want to take it i don't even i don't want to say one game plan uh i think in the past i've kind of got fix it on my head of what way i think a fight's going to go and then when it doesn't go that way things kind of change so my plans is go here we're going to be prepared for three rounds we'll be prepared for 20 runs hey despite only being three but go out there i'd strike i might grab one wherever it goes this is just dominant domination's over corner but i'm ryan how do you see it going yeah again i'm not a not a huge one for predicting fights but um you know could see a light stopping somewhere there or not a chance no no no it's not a chance not there's not a chance they're late stop which not a chance this is the thing see in the last fight see if that if any baller like i got or i did get a big gas because i haven't really been training before the fight and i did try go out and exert myself but there's no chance they'll stop mature because if need be i just take around on it well and i can just pass it if there's any issues at all just take it down it will and the thing is i will box the heady that's a this kick and you've learned from watching dirty dancing too many times but this is the most highly anticipated all-irish fight since um shannae kavanagh and liam mccourt i know that wasn't that long ago but this this is this is more anticipated so this this hi this is high level oh he's
