Go back. >> Uh, everyone, as far as fighting championship, I have here Mr. Keane Heeney. Um, congratulations. >> Thank you, man. >> Uh, talk talk to me about like what's uh just give me a quick two sentences over the the whole fight like what the >> whole fight, man. Here, I I need to watch it back, but I know I was landing good leg kicks. hair on the walker. Man, I forgot my my mouthpiece. I came out. I was like, "Oh, you ran back." >> That was so embarrassing, man. But I think they actually want me to fight. I needed to like reet my senses, man, cuz it all so much, man. >> But I managed to do it like in the end. So, >> right on. So, um, in in the in the middle of that fight there, there's a bit of trash talk there. >> Hey, man. >> Jamal, there's no disrespect, man. He is such a good opponent, man. >> Yeah, he he was very good. Like I really appreciate this dude because I'm not doing fighting for ego or oh I want to be the best or oh I want to hurt no I don't want to hurt no one man. It's cuz when I was young man I used to always run away from these situations run away from the pressure man. Run away from all the hard things. And now that I'm older it's just about trying to like impress my family by showing them what I came from man cuz they saved me from a bad situation man. And now I'm just here and I'm trying to throw myself into these pressure situations. I can I like I came out like there's no there's no bad will for Jamal. He's one one hell of a fight. >> Absolutely. >> No, you know, man, he's a beast, man. I really appreciate him. There's nothing but fight. >> Right on. Um so like the the first round I as I was sitting there, I definitely would have scored it to yourself. Then the the second round um towards the end there he kind of I wouldn't say he got the better of you but uh he he >> he was doing a good job man. >> Yeah he he was doing very good that what what was kind of going through your head then >> uh when I was in the choke >> I was in the choke man I was like every single morning man I'm getting up 6 a.m. training three times a day man I knew I at work this guy like I knew all of my suffering all the pain that I went through every single time I pushed when no one was looking I knew I'd done that. So in my subconscious I knew that I'd done everything I can. I didn't leave nothing on the cutting room floor. Like so when I was in there I just had confidence in myself. I listened to my coach. He said there's this amount of time left. I kind of had an idea of how to get out of that like position but I was like I might get in this round. I'm not sure. I need to get to the next round now. I just need to keep myself alive now to get into the next next round to try to win the fight. So >> right on. So that that third round came in like what what was your kind of your mentality coming going into the third round then? Going into the third round, I was in the corner, man. I was like, "Oh my god, I'm here, man." I was like, "Going into this fight, I was like nine minutes to make all the suffering, all the pain, all the pull outs, all the times. I went through a bad bad brain scare, man. I had something wrong with my brain >> on an like on a on an MRI or a fight. Yeah, >> it was just a brain cyst, >> but uh >> I came out on top of it in the end, but there was a while, man, where I couldn't do head shot and stuff for a while and I was like, "Oh, there's something seriously wrong with me, man. What if things might not be okay?" Like, and it just really made me realize that like this could have been taken away from me. Like, so I have nothing to lose here. Like, so I was going into that third round. I was like, I ain't got nothing to lose, man. It's time to push. Time to make my family proud. Like, >> okay. And I certainly think you did. Uh, okay. Sorry. Just uh speaking of like a kind of like a medical scare like that, like what uh what does this sport mean like now that now that you're obviously you're cleared to to compete like this? Like um what does you know being able to do this now with that in hindsight kind of mean to you? >> What this means to me? Uh I'm going to be deadly honest with you, man. I don't even know if like going into this fight, I wasn't like, "Oh, I want to do a big amateur career and then go pro and then go this." Like I think I'm good at MMA. Like, but I don't know if I'm going to do this long term. Like, I just knew that all all the I went through, I knew I had to get this one. I had to get that one. And know >> everyone in the gym knows, they all know I'm working hard, man. I'm always pushing, man. This was my night, man. I needed this. So, I This was necessary. Like, I don't know what's in the future. But I just want to give a big shout out to Fufu Fars and Abu Fres. These guys, man, let me tell you about these guys. Pro fighters, so much on their plate and they're setting up an event like this. They're >> they are savages, man. Shout out to the Fars brothers, man. You guys are insane, man. Thank you for the opportunity. I wouldn't rather do it on any other show, man. These guys, >> most respect for these guys. >> Heck yeah. All right, talk like your your everyday life. Um like how how does training in combat sports really kind of help you in your everyday? training in my everyday hair man. Like when I was young, I was I wasn't the best kid. I used to kind of be disobedient. I used to I had a lot of stuff going on like and this just helps me channel that energy like like even if I'm not fighting like I was just saying a minute ago, I'm always going to be training. I always need this is just my way of putting it, but you could put it a different way. I need a bit of suffering to enjoy the quietness. Like I can't wake up, have my cup of tea and and sit down on the couch and watch the telly. Something will be eating away in my brain. >> I need to wake up, do something hard, then I can earn earn my peace. And my family knows that. Like like if I don't train for a few days, I'm like someone who hasn't gotten sleep. Like training is necessary in my life to keep my balance of my mental energies. >> Thank you. But u look man, I appreciate it and look, I hope to hope to see you fight again. Okay. >> Thank you, Tony. I really appreciate you. >> Um and I appreciate your time. And then um yeah, that's it for now. >> Thanks guys. Just one last thing. >> Bars Brothers, thank you so much. Tony, thank you so much. He's a legend. Liam Griffin, man. This dude Liam Griffin, man, he saved so many people's lives and he don't even know, man. He's one of the most humble dudes ever, man. You really got me out of a bad spot, man. >> Right on. Shout out >> everyone down the gym, man. The family, we all have a big family vibe down there, man. We all help each other. Sean or Larry, everyone, man. There's so many people that I haven't named, but you you know what I'm talking about. You come on. We did it now tonight. Here we are. Thank you everyone, man. I appreciate everyone and I appreciate you talking. Thank you so much, bro. >> No problem. Thank you for your time, man. >> Have a good one.
