Ross, >> are you intoxicated or something? Introduce the guest man. Today we have one of the hottest prospects worldwide in the MMA scene. It's the one and only. It's Shamrock and he's fresh off signing to the UFC and we will see him fight live in Doha in Qar really soon. Shem, how how much are you looking forward to fighting in the UFC gloves? And how did the signing come about? It's been a long time coming and it lad it's obviously been me dream to fight in the famous three letters. I'm finally here now. But um yeah, you know what? It don't feel it don't feel no different. It feels just the same and I'm just coming for another first round finish. >> Yeah, it feels like you were built for this moment from I think from the first moment we saw you saw you even talk or fight or anything. We're like, "Ah, he has a bit about him, this lad." And uh it's really all come to fruition. H tell us this. When you first got the contract, like did that have a bit of a pinching moment to it? >> Um it was a bit mad. Like every fight that I've had, it's been like, okay, if I get a finish in this fight, I get on the mic, I get a big traction, Dana will come and sign me after this one. And then like I win, I speak to me manager afterwards and he's like, "Yeah, I don't I think we need another one." I win. I speak to me manager after I think we need another one. I win. And then it was weird cuz I fought Corkmas in Germany. They had a change of opponent in like the last seven days or something. So it was all a bit up in the air. I went decision with them. And when I've come backstage, Paul Rimmer has said to me, you know, the USC aren't going to sign you off the back of a decision. It's it's not really a finish. It's not what they want. So I was like, yeah, it's all right. I'm not getting >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Nice one, Paul. I'm not getting signed. And then um I don't know like I I don't normally like take no time off or go on holiday or nothing, but my body was a bit beat up a little bit. I was a bit tired, so I thought I book a little holiday. I booked an holiday. And then Graemes rang me like, "Guess what, mate? You're in the UFC." Yeah. But, you know, was made up. And it you know what though? It wasn't It WASN'T LIKE WHAT REALLY? IT WAS MORE LIKE [ __ ] hell. Finally, it's about time. >> So, I've always expected to be here and now I'm here. >> Yeah. No, congratulations, Shim. And then the thing is the the video, the announcing video went absolutely viral. Can you explain to us like the thoughts of the video and like what was the overall reaction? >> Yeah, I was on holiday, weren't I, in um in the UAE. So, I thought while I'm out here, I best have a video already cuz I know I know what the journalists are like. The journalists like to try and sneak in and leak it before the UFC. Personally, I wanted to wait for the UFC to announce it. But once I see like I made the video and had it ready. So I was like when when the UFC announced it, I'll post a video the same day. And then I seen all the journalists just leaking at being signed cuz the UFC put me on the website with, you know, like with no picture. So once I seen all the journalists talking, I said, "Fuck it. Let me put the video out." [snorts] And yeah, the video done numbers like it was it was funny, weren't it? >> Yeah. No, it's it's that fella on Twitter, Roster Watch. That fella, he he once you're on there, like I don't know how he does it, but like he has the notifications like there's no tomorrow he does on him. >> I think there's a few people on the inside me that someone must be asking like, "Yo, who?" It's got to be, lad. >> Oh, you you think there you think there's a rat in the camp? >> I think there is, lad. There's a little leak in there. You know, when you've got that many employees. >> Yeah. Oh, yeah. Especially Especially especially when you show sign. But like Shem, you're obviously like making your UFC debut on November 22nd in Qatar. Um, just before we get into that, like I just want to look back at Octagon and like your like career with the company. Like you you you did massive numbers for them like like everyone in Ireland definitely tuned in when yourselves and Dennis Fong were on the events. But like overall like what were your thoughts of working with Octagon? Um, obviously me and Dennis are [ __ ] took over the gaff. Like I'll be honest with you, I'd never heard of Octagon in my life. Like they just showed up to me, Jim, and was like, "Look, mate, we want to sign you." And cuz they kind of flew over and met me and we went for the scr. I met the owner. I got on with them and then obviously money talks, I seen what they were paying and that and I was like, "Fuck it. This is I'm a bit weird, lad. I've always had kind of me own path. I've always gone a different route to everyone else. So, I just thought it made sense and it's another part of the story. And then obviously sign with Octagon and we had our ups and downs. Sometimes Big Andre like to slag me a few times, but other [snorts] than that, lad, it was all right. You know what I mean? I done me thing. I shut the show down. I felt him. Should have had a few title shots. Should have had a few main events. They weren't meant to be. I thought I was going to get to maybe bring them to Ireland or maybe bring them to Liverpool, but everything happens for a reason, lad. Even even when I was in Octagon, although I weren't allowed to verbally say it, I think it was no secret that I wanted to go to the UFC and it's where I belong to be. And then obviously after the last one, contract ending, UFC signed me. Perfect. Now it's Dennis's turn to come next. >> Yeah. No, the the thing is what like the people in Ireland really enjoyed as well when you were one of the coaches for the team Ireland against the team UK as well. >> Yeah. It was a bit weird for me, lad, cuz I'm coaching >> the Irish lads against Jake and George who were me teammates who I train with every day. >> Yeah. >> But to be honest, when the show first come about, I was the first person they picked. me and the other coach. So, the lads knew I was on the show before they knew they were on the show. So, they stepped in to be against me rather than me stepping to be against them. So, and I told them it's a great opportunity. It doesn't matter if you're on my team or not. It is what it is. Go out there. The best man wins. No one in the corner is going to make no difference. The best fighter will win on the night. It is what it is. But, um, it was good being able to corner Dennis. Obviously, I'm closest to Dennis. It was really good getting I think Dennis had a bit of an advantage on the show compared to everyone else cuz he had someone who actually knew his whole game, someone who trained with him since he was a beginner to where he is now. And I obviously could give extra attention into him as well. But that being said, I'm not a rat. Whenever it was going to be uh George versus any of Ireland or Jake versus any of Ireland, I ain't going to go like this is what he's going to do. I just put it as a blank canvas like this is what you should do, this is how you should fight, but I'm not sharing no inside. It's a bit sneaky that ain't it, lad. I just >> Especially after the show, you go back to NextG and like, oh, I tried to [ __ ] you over effectively. >> Yeah. Yeah. That's not me, lad. Yeah. Exactly. >> Yeah. It has to be there has to be loyalty in the game. And I I actually think it was I actually think it was McGregor when he coached on tough for the first time. He sat everyone down at the start and was like, "Look, this team thing is loaded bollocks. At the end of the day, you were in here to win the show yourself and like and you'll probably meet never meet Tom over here ever again after the show. So like don't worry about him." So and like he was right because the Ultimate Fire used to always be like oh this team versus that team. But at the end of the day like everyone wanted to be the winner of the show. So that's what that's what really mattered. And uh obviously George won in the end and uh he did great things knocked on. Now he's in Cage Warriors. He'll probably be looking for the UFC in a couple of years time as well. But uh I will say I feel like I don't know if I don't know if there was many UK or Irish guys in Octagon before you, but I feel like when you arrived there and made everyone take notice of the show show in the UK and Ireland and you definitely kicked down the doors and really made that promotion notable for Irish fighters and UK fighters to be fighting in and it gives them another alternative promotion to fight in and make money in and that's a game changer just >> Yeah, I agree. I think before I come, they had John Haway maybe. I think he was the only but even then it was like he's kind of at the later end. He's he's always like sick then good to fight then he's sick again. I know he's got his condition going on. So I think he didn't really get the traction that he could have if he would have been like consistently fighting. So, I feel like when I come in, I I don't really like to sound bigheaded saying it, but I feel like I put them on a map, lad. I feel like >> no one in England and Ireland really knew what Octagon was until we come and >> shut the show down. And it's just a shame that they failed on the UK market. But I think that was more like I don't want to badmouth anyone, but I think it was more about how they went about it. like starting in the big stadium straight away, putting the wrong people on the main events, putting me on the prelims. Like they should have added in another maybe sign in a few more names cuz they had the money to spend, they should have shelled out and brought in a few of the bigger prospects and but you're living your lad. >> Yeah. I I always sort of think when they come to UK and Ireland like if they could do like sort of five seven and a half thousand seater stadium pack that out with the people that they have. I thought that was that was a winner. But at the end of the day, they're doing these massive shows in Serbia, Munich, wherever else. They don't really want to lower the sort of product uh in a smaller stadium. And look, >> I don't think I think that's a backwards mentality. I think that's a bit of ego creeping out. I think >> sometimes you're in a smaller arena, but the gaff is rocking. >> Sometimes it's a better atmosphere and a better vibe. Like when I fought Yam Malik, we fought in an open air stadium and it was a lot smaller than when I fought Pourney. Pourney was like 30,000 people and this one was a lot smaller. But for me, that open air stadium, lad, cuz it was packed and it was outdoors, lad. It was rocking, bro. And sometimes, like, it's about the vibe and the atmosphere. And when you're on the socials and you see how packed it is and the fireworks and it don't matter anyway. People aren't asked. >> Yeah. I suppose look at when I suppose for a small uh arena when Paul Hughes fought Morgan Sharier in York Hall like that that building was on absolute wheels it was and like people don't actually care like viewing from home. I think it was like you say it's more of an ego thing for for them to go in small arena but if if the play if the fans make noise and the place looks good like I think it's it's well worth doing and you know to break into the UK and Irish mark they probably do need to do some smaller shows. Why don't they just call it Octagon Challenger Series or something like that? Doesn't matter. Like call it a different product and then put it out there. But uh I think they definitely should come. But like you had a fantastic career in Octagon. My only grievance with them was when uh you gave that fell's uh belly a little tickle with your toe. I actually felt that was I felt that was actually Octagon's fault that uh they actually let that happen and then they blamed you. I didn't like that one bit. That that was my biggest grievance with you and Octagon. I' I've never really told this to no one, but um I'm not really that ass now. I'll say it how it is. [ __ ] it. If they hate me, they hate me. Um after we've um I've told them before we went to the weighin as well, I'll get as close as you want. But if he tries to put any hands on me, I'm knocking him out here. I don't care. He's not me mate. He's been chatting [ __ ] about me. M all build up through the camp and that like I'm ready to punch his head in. Bro, when I got there and I just seen like it's no security, I thought, "Wow, these are mad deals." But whatever. Cool. We've done the face off. It's gone left, I've kicked him. Cool. Apparently afterwards, cuz I I I was overweight by a tiny bit. They're saying, "If I don't make weight, the fight's off." So I'm like, "If I make weight, is the fight still on?" They're like, "Yes, the fight's still on if you go up now and make weight." I went in, jumped in the bath, got back out, 800 gram, come down on the scale. while I'm on weight. So, they're like, "Okay, the fight's on." The next day, I've woke up to do me shake out. Me manager's there, all the coaches are there, and everyone's just looking sad. And then I've looked at me, cameraman's like that with the cameraman just pointing at me, and I've just gone, "Oh, I'm not fighting, am I, boys?" I just knew cuz everyone's just sad in the room. And they were like, "Yeah, yeah, you aren't fighting. He's uh he's broke his ribs." And I'm like, "What? He's broke his ribs? I kicked him on the liver. I felt it. There was no bone." So anyway, time goes on. I've sat down with Andre, the owner, and Andre's like, "Look, we can get you to fight. You can still fight today. Do you want to fight?" And I've said, "Look, I'll fight anyone. No matter who you get, catch weight, anything. I'll fight them today." And he's like, "Okay, you're still going to fight then?" He goes, "The only thing is you're going to have to pay a fine." And I'm like, "Pay a fine? What do you mean, lad?" And he's like, "We'll take money out your purse." And I've gone, "Who's who's the money going to?" And he's gone, "It's going to charity." So I'm like, "Not really asked. I still want to fight. I want the win on me record. I want to get to the UFC." Cool. Then he's gone. And by the way, the charity is going to get picked by Pakornney. And then I've just clocked then. Lad, do you think I'm a ned? Do you think I'm giving my money to the police? He's going to pick a police charity. And then next minute they put out in the press, "Oh, Shamrock had to give 20 grand to police." I said, "Nah, bro." I said, "Look, I'll fight. You can find me, but I'm giving no money to the police. That ain't happening, mate." And that's why I ultimately didn't fight that night. They had three opponents for me all lined up ready to step in and cuz I wouldn't pay the the fine to the police that I didn't end up getting to fight. that >> if if if they were so bothered about the fine and charity would not go and just pick up the tab and pay charity fine to whoever else. I to be honest, I think they were half pissed off as well because my contract ran out the day after that fight. But on me contract, I still had three fights left, but there was a time clause in there. So then after the fight, they're arguing saying that they're still going to find me. And I'm like, you can't find me. I'm out of contract. I I don't I'm not an Octagon fighter no more. And they were like, no, you are. And I'm like, no, I'm not. You know, showed them the clause in the contract. And then that's why I didn't fight for so long after the Pakornney fight got cancelled. We went back and forth. They dropped the fine, renegotiated for a new contract, and then I for Catholi in me and me fight back in Birmingham. >> Jeez. And the And the truth comes out. The truth comes out. >> It It always does in the end. It always does. >> Behind the scenes in MMA is the part that the fans don't understand. The fans always get on to the fighters. Nine times out of 10, it's not the fighters. We want to fight. We want to earn money. We want to feed our families. We're not scared to step in there with anyone. But sometimes it's out of your control and I'm just sitting on the sideline swiddling me thumbs ringing me manager every week like contract. No, still not done. Okay. Still not done. What? Okay. It's mad, bro. >> Well, look, you're out of Octagon now. You had a great run there and you built you built the the European scene or the UK and Irish scene in Oxagon for the fighters for a path following like obviously now we have Will Flurry champ double champ smash lad about to become triple champ. >> I I love the way they like sort of lowkey don't like him as well. [laughter] They're like okay we'll give him this guy he'll definitely lose this time and then he beats them and they're like oh [ __ ] Yeah. Yeah. I could see I could see that they're like trying to go trying to get like getting a bouet in like just anyone h which I think is absolutely gas. But uh really looking forward to that fight. But uh look we're we're on to the UFC now. You're making your debut uh in guitar and tell us this obviously uh >> very cool place to be making your debut for a start. H Doha like is unbelievable city but also your teammate Luke Rody's also making his debut on the car as well. How cool is it for you both to making your debut on the same night? That's got to be one for one for the NextG history books. >> Luke's the boy lad. If you if you know about Luke Riley, you know, he's a finisher. Every fight he comes to have a [ __ ] scrap. He's he's trying to win bonuses in fights where there's no bonuses on the line. So now in the UFC with a 50G on the line, I would bet any amount of money that he walks out of his fight with 50 grand in his back pocket on top of his purse cuz every fight he has, he's tenacious. He's got hand speed. He's looking to hit you with every shot. So now it's a bit [ __ ] that I I don't get to sit there and watch it cuz I'll be doing my own thing as well. But it's boss for us to be in the camp together, cut the weight together, play out there together, and I can see us both just [ __ ] shutting the whole gaff down, lad. And everyone just talking about us and it just being the [ __ ] the next gen takeover, lad. I really can see it. >> Yeah. >> Are you both going to have the same corner team as well while you're over there? >> We got me, sorry, Rimmer, Patty, and Ellis in our corner. So >> yeah, it's I already know though it's going to go off over there because Taporier is going to be there with his brother. Armon's going to be there. Patty's with us. I can just see it now. This hotel is going to be a freefor all. >> Yeah, it it it definitely is. But like also like what a card to be fighting on. Like they've they've really uh >> this really pop card like like Sukq and Hooker as as a main event. Massive fight. Bahal Muhammad versus Gary. Massive fight. You know what I mean? like there's going to be a lot of eyes on this card and uh I I I definitely feel like there's a high side fee paid by Doha to get these uh byqar to get this fight over here. It looks like it's going to be uh a place that UFC comes back the time and time again. Obviously >> you've been to the Middle East, you've trained out there. Do you feel like that will pay play to your advantage knowing what like it's like the climate and stuff out out there? >> To be honest, lad. Um I think it suits me more than me opponents. He's coming all the way from America, so he's got a further travel. I Bro, I love the heat. Like I I've got the heat in full blast on now in me house. Like everyone who comes in my house is like bloody hell, it's roasting in here. I'll be in Qatar with the air con off windows open just chilling, lad. I don't mind that. I do get it though. I'm fight night in there. Sometimes the climate can affect the cardio, but if it affects mine, it affects his lad. He's from mountainous regions, lad. I'm I'm black, bro. I can deal with that [ __ ] I don't mind. >> And what do we know about Ali? Obviously, he's he's 10 and0. Um bit of a decision merchant. You know what I mean? I'm going to say >> that's what we know. He's a decision merchant. He's coming to sniff major bullet. He's going to try and lay and pray all night to hold me down. But he won't be licking me bollocks. He'll be licking the [ __ ] wounds after a shining. I'm coming to take him out. Serious. Submission knockouts. Anytime he gets older my legs, I'm popping straight back up and I'm putting it on him. I'm not scared of this style one bit. If you're scared to get held down, >> you're not a real fighter. >> No. And obviously, you know, the amount of submissions you have on on your record as well, like you're not afraid to grapple with anyone. Um, and obviously the the gym you come out as well nextg like some ferocious grappers like we've seen like George Stains is someone who has a very good top game. Obviously Patty's known for for the submissions off off his back. You know what I mean? Obviously you're a high level JS player. Adam Cullen's a high level J player. Um Nathan Fletcher's high like very high level jits in in nextgen especially in May grappling as well. So obviously that's not something you're going to fear. But obviously after rallying off those names then Luke Riley as well like the Bulls in NextG at the moment must be next level. Like Patty's on the verge of a title shot. you guys just signed at the UFC. H you know uh George has a fight booked for Newcastle at the end of the year. Like the balls must be something else at the moment in there. >> Yeah, I think um the room is just especially for like 145. The room's just on fire. I do think it's the best in the country. No if buts maybe about it. Like people are coming from all outside and other gyms to come and cross trainin cuz they're starting to realize like for our weight classes. Any style you need, we've got it. You need a wrestler, you need a jitsu guy, you need a striker, you need a boxer, you need a kicker. Like the room's just full of killers. There's no easy round. If you do five rounds on a Tuesday or Thursday, there's no rest round for you, lad. It's it's near impossible, lad. But that's why we're all thriving cuz every day we're just trying to chase the best guy in the room and then there's someone behind you and he overtakes you then you overtake him and it's just and the fact that we're all actively fighting. >> We're just growing, bro. >> Yeah, absolutely. And you find things have changed in the gym over the last couple of years with Patty Stardom. Like I'm sure people are almost probably camping outside the gym to get a glimpse of him. Uh you know, there's probably more cameras in the gym now than there's ever been. I'm sure you have people coming up to train who have no interest in training and just want to get a picture etc etc like what's what's the gym like now these days like do you have to keep it very close quarters for the pro team >> there's always people coming from overseas there's a load of like we get Australians Americans but you know what what I really never expected we're getting loads of like checks and Slovakians coming in wanting to train where we've had obviously me fighting on octagon and that and it It's mad. We get journalists coming in. Like you said, we get people who don't even train who just want to come and watch, people who want to take pictures. And that to be honest, our gym's like very welcoming. We're like a family, lad. So, everyone is welcome. And they always get a good reception when they come as long as there's no little snide little cameras getting pulled out and everyone's cool, lad. >> No, the gym have always been quality to us. So, shout out to NextG. Hm. you were just touching on there's like checks and like Serbians coming to the gym like uh on your for the amount of people that follow you where where would be the like the three main places you're followed by? >> I think probably Liverpool Ireland and then I'd say it used to be Asia. I'd say probably now it's going to be Czech Slovakia region. It's between Asia Czech Slovakia. It's close >> when Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Even when I look through like sometimes I see some mad numbers like America and that and I'm like I didn't even know I had fans over there. It's just it's crazy. Probably off the back of Patty and whatnot as well and Molly and lad. Everyone's just [ __ ] blowing up lad. It's mad in it. >> Yeah. No, it's just been your journey's been really cool to watch from the outside and like seeing you now finally have a home win in XG is great to see. Um, another thing is that I I just want to throw in here. >> I I love watching every year the way the team put out the video at the end of the year, the rolling tournament. >> Yeah, the king of the mats. >> King of the mats. I I love watching that. I think they've done it the last two years. Definitely at least. But h who do you think will win it this year? Sh >> Patty wins it every year, lad. [laughter] >> He he will he will let his leg break to win it. L. Do you know what my thing is? It's sick. But I don't do it, bro. Because I just think I know my luck. I just get injured. He's a rolling for like two, three hours sometimes where there's four or five guys left and they're all elite level grapplers and no one wants to no one wants to lose and you just keep going. And I just think if I'm doing that, lad, I'll go and do a Polaris on the weekend or I'll go fly and do a IBJJF tournament, lad. I I know my luck. >> Yeah. Especially when it gets competitive and no one wants to tap and now before you know it you're like ah hyper extended me elbow or I got put unconscious like I do go and I do watch and it is fun but I I don't I I don't think I'd do it. No, maybe if I was a bit younger I'm getting old now lads. >> Fair [laughter] shm tell us this. Do you think a UFC toy shot will be Patty's next fight? >> It has to be. It has to be. name a bigger fight right now that the UFC can make than I to Patty Bimble. >> I think I think at the moment Patty probably has the most star power and the biggest name will bring the most eyeballs whether you want to see him win or you want to see him lose. He's he's just one of those guys h who doesn't have a belt patty like he's the boy as they say. >> Yeah. If you're talking about guys who doesn't have a belt, then he's number one because there is like, you know, your Alex Pereira, whoever, whoever else, but I think he he's up there with them in terms of like star power. >> Yeah. And if you're talking about building the fight, like there's no way like by like even if you don't think it's the biggest fight now, by the time that fight actually rolls around, they've done the press conferences, the faceoffs, and all that, like that's the one that's going to get the the the fans staying up till 5 or 6 a.m. watching the fight. >> You know what I mean? What >> where do you think that fight would be on? And like you'd obviously expect yourself to be on the card as well >> if it happens. Surely they want to do the first card of the year cuz it's on Paramount now like [ __ ] start it with a big bang. Maybe have some other big names on the card. Your Alex Perez. I don't know whoever else is [ __ ] massive. That's what I think. But I don't know. Maybe they're waiting to see Ar and Tuki and Dan Hooker and see how that plays out. You could go on Instagram tomorrow and Justin Gates just get slipped in. Like we we really don't know. But my only thing is I just think it'd be a big shame if they slotted Armond in and Armond beat Ilia because then it's like the fight don't have that same. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Arman's like Arman Sukin is a bit like when an Kia was the light heavyweight champion. It's a bit like Yeah. He's very very good, but like he does not make me stay up till 6:00 a.m. >> He deserves it. He deserves to be there, but personally, I'd say slide Justin Gate in cuz he'd knock him out or slide Patty in because it'll be the biggest fight >> if I'm in the UFC. >> Yeah. And the only reason I'd slide Gate in is to maybe [ __ ] get Paddyy one more win and build it up again, even bigger. But even that's a risk, anything can happen. Although although like if if it's if it is Terukian I wouldn't mind seeing Gage versus Patty as well. >> Yeah, I think that's a good fight for Paddyy as well. I think Patty absolutely misers him. >> Yeah, I think I think it's a very similar to Michael Chandler in a lot of ways. I think Gachi's better than Chandler, but it's very similar sort of game plan. >> If you put Gachi on his back, >> it's done, bro. Patty's on top. He's just he's too good, bro. You seen you seen what Kabib done when he gets on top. He just passes his guard like it doesn't even exist and submits him with the same technique twice at the end of the round and then at the start of the next round. Like if Pad got on top of him, bro, it'd be it'd be the end. >> Yeah, it's it's definitely going to be interesting to see see how they go. And like obviously you're an unbelievable addition to the lightweight division. I can uh I I hope uh you get a lot of media attention when you get over to Doha that like you know they realize that you know put a mic in front of that man and he'll uh he'll make some some things happen. So uh I'd love to see more and more of of the Sham show over in Doha. I think it would be absolutely phenomenal. Uh Shm, tell us this just obviously we touched on NextG earlier. Who who's who's the person on the come up in NextGen that maybe people don't know about? Who would you like to give a few flowers to? Oh, >> can I go more than one? >> Of course I can. >> Okay, we got a young girl by the name of Alana. She just won the IMAF Worlds. She's like really up and coming, so if you want to talk, start from the bottom. Amateur still. She only trains with men. I see her battering lads every day in the gym. She's a savage. We've also got obviously Connor Wilson. I think pound for pound in our gym he's the best. No one rivals him skill set wise he's the best. The only problem is he's a flyweight in it cuz I like weight. I'd be scared to spar him. He's that good. We've got um Fran Breen as well. Another [ __ ] absolute killer. Charlie Bowlolan at bantamweight. Another upand cominging killer. And then I'd say we got George Stains who everyone knows about. 7 and0. I think personally he's ready for the contender series now. But I get it. If you want him to get a finish or two before then, more time to hone his craft. But honestly, skill set wise, I've trained with guys who've got 30 fight as good as him. He's quality. Adam Cullen as well, it's his time right now. He's got a big fight coming up. I can see him getting a first round finish. I think he should be getting a contender call up. Uh Liam Gittens. He's an absolute animal. The room's just like I could I could sit here and keep naming guys, but you were to just get me to name the they're me they're me guys and I probably missed someone. >> So I'm sorry. >> Next week [laughter] like Shem, just before we wrap things up, like obviously this year you're like right, I want to get signed to the UC. Now you're signed. You are fighting on November 22nd at UCAR. What like what goals have you got for 2026 or have you even looked that far yet? [sighs] >> Me goal was to get into the USC. I'm here now. So now obviously when you'd achieve your goals, your goals grow and get bigger and change. The goal now is to bring the UFC to Liverpool. I'll take Ireland, but I want to bring them to Liverpool. In my whole career, I've never once fought in me hometown. So for me to call it a day one day and to have never had a fight in Liverpool would just be a massive shame. So my only goal now is obviously win fights, show the [ __ ] UFC what I'm made of, get paid, make money, but the big goal in me head right [snorts] now is to bring them to the US to Liverpool. And with the talent that I've just named and never mind the talent that I've named, the other guys coming through from other gyms in the Northwest, the guys they've already got, you Laurel Murphy's, you the guys coming behind me, Curtis Campbell as well who's already signed, Luke, Paddyy, me. It's got to happen, ain't it? Like I get it. Maybe Patty's too big now. Maybe they only want to keep him in America. But a little fight night in Liverpool. Riley, Curtis, the new guys coming through. H Islam Makv vacated the lightweight belt is stepping up to face JDM um for the welterweight title. Look this going to be a very intriguing fight. I I have no idea which way this fight's going to go. Will the size difference be too much for Machev? Obviously moving up 15 pounds is a lot. Um will JDM be able to nullify the wrestling of Islam Machev? Obviously you know uh Alexander Vcanowski's in this camp for JDM. Craig Jones as a camp for JDM. Uh I think you know we'll probably know within the first five minutes what way this fight's going to go. Uh JDM's takedown defense is very very good, but obviously Islam's wrestling is on another level. So this one's going to be really really intriguing. Um I'm sure the UFC will probably love Islam to win just because I think they rather him as a champion. Um but look, Jack Delena has been a prospect for a long time. He stepped up on short notice. beat Bal Muhammad who not exactly the same style but a similar enough style to Islam Machev. So I'm very interested to see how this one plays out. Basmo. Yeah. No, it is a very intriguing fight because obviously Makachev moving up like everyone would have liked to seeing Toporia against Makachev but this one Jack Dela Madena against Islam is is very very interesting. Um, uh, we actually have a poll out at on at the moment on the Energize Shows Instagram page and take a guess of what the prediction is at the moment, Ross. >> I'm going to say 68% Machev. I think, you know, Valentino Shashenko has had an absolutely outstanding career um you know multiple time UFC champion and now she's taken on Way Jang, you know, the Strawway Queen. I know this fight has been sort of touted for a long time. Now we have it. It's going down New York. I think this is a fascinating match stylewise. Um for me, I think we might get the upset. I think Way Jang is not quite at her peak of ability yet. And I think Valentina Shashenko judging from past couple of fights is maybe on a slight downturn in her career. >> Very interesting. I would I I was going to go with Valentina Shashenko this [laughter] man. We are not agreeing in anything here today. But what's the story with that? Are you okay, >> man? Um I'm sure Ying Garry will have a close eye on that one. Uh obviously he's had beef with Leon Edwards and him and Carlos Pratees are best friends ever since their fight. So that one will be unbelievably uh close. I'm looking forward to it. And then obviously Benil Darush is fighting Ben Saint Deni to round out that main card. Unbelievable main card. Sure. You know Bone Nickel relegated to the prelim on this one. Uh and then Roman Cop versus uh Gregory Rodriguez Robo Robocop and Aaron Blanchfield versus Trace Cortez as well. Um, for the people tuning in, there is also another big car going down on Saturday night is going down in London as Cage Warriors returns and Ross, massive shout out to team Rhino's Solomon King Simon has finally got an opponent and will fight for the vacant Cage Warriors lightweight title. Uh, sorry, excuse me, featherweight title. Ross, why did nobody want to step up and fight Solomon King Simon this weekend for the vacant world title? Well, I spoke to Bob me this weekend and he said to me, "Would you like to fight Solomon King Simon?" And I said, "Absolutely not." Um, [snorts] the man is absolutely terrifying at the moment. He is knocking people out left, right, and center. He is on an absolute terror at the moment. He hits people and he changes the way they think. H he is a different caliber of fighter right now. And I am convinced you will walk out of London your new Cage Warriors featherweight champion. the man is on a trajectory like we haven't seen before and I'm really really looking forward to see it. He looks like he's in peak shape and he looks like he's ready to be the king of that division. No, 100% agree. Uh he's taking on um Kai Kio Aruo and that is going down live on UC5 Pass this Saturday night. Um, also you have to make sure to watch out for uh team Torres's very own Kieran Brady as he takes on Kadim Perkins in a bantamweight clash as well. Ross, >> yeah, both men I think are 4-0. Um, Kieran Brady and Solomon Simon are both undefeated on the Irish side of things. Both looking to remain undefeated. Kieran Brady's got some absolutely slick submissions and some great dancing. So, uh, look, I expect the Irish very much to go 2 and 0. This going to be a big weekend uh for Irish and May in the Cage Warrior scene. We're gonna bring bring a a title home and Kieran Brady's gonna end up getting a finish as well. I can feel it in my bones. [snorts] >> Jeez, you're not hating anymore, Ross. Jeez, that you probably loosened up that that brand new hoodie. Uh also, you have to make sure to check out as well, Jordan Fennich is returning to the Cage Warriors cage as well. And in the main event, Shiraz Cuadrian is taking on Elton Arindo for the vacant bantoime title. Ross, just touching on the bantamweight division there in Cage Warriors, what Irish fighters do you think are going to be having a like a are gonna be watching this very closely? >> Well, look, I think I think Kieran Brady is someone who is lower down the car, but he he's obviously in Cage Warriors now per so he he's going to be looking at this like there's no tomorrow. Um, so he's going to get a ringside seat to the new champion in the division. So I think that I I think don't look past Kieran Brady in that bantamweight division. He's uh someone who has probably been underestimated a few times in his career and underestimated no more. 4-0 soon to be 5 and0. Um he'll definitely looking at anyone you think in ban who who you'd like to see have a look that division. >> Well, I actually think there's a lot of uh Irish flyweights and featherweights as opposed to >> bantamweights. Not so much. Obviously, one of the recent champs there was the Dawn. So, uh we're not strangers to gold in the bathweight division. >> No, that was a great night when Kan won his world title as well. >> Yeah. Yeah. How excited are you for this fight and what way do you see it going down? >> Yeah, look, the build for this fight has been absolutely massive. Um, obviously Eubank won the first one. I'm going to back him to win the second one. Uh, Connor Ben has come across really well in the Netflix uh dock buildup for as well. Look, this is probably the biggest fight in boxing or British boxing in a very long time. Um, and I can't wait for I'd love to see Ben win to get a trilogy out of it to be honest, but I think Eubank's gonna get the job done. What are your thoughts? >> Yeah, well, this is where we're going to agree. I think Eubank Jr. is going to win this one as well, but like as you said, a trilogy would be very exciting because, uh, think of about the hype for that as well. >> Um, absolutely. >> Yeah. But that goes down this Saturday night. Um, we just want to give a shout out to the lads that won over in Holland last week. That was on Macdonald and Mck. And then uh last thing was h unfortunately Jared Burns did was unsuccessful in his flyway title fight against Muhammad Makay. Ross Anon saying that before we wrap things up. >> Yeah, obviously massive massive uh week for V Academy Ireland was um obviously the two boys in Jeremy getting the job done. Fortunately Jared Burns didn't get the job done but look he was going in there against arguably the best flyweight in the world. No shame in losing that one.
