okay what's going on guys and welcome to a brand new episode of energized today we have a very special guest on the show we have UFC Bellator and Strikeforce a world lightweight champion corner container and podcaster Josh the punk Thompson Josh how you doing this long buddy it is a bit longer but I decided to keep it short you know I mean yeah yeah you missed pride you miss dream I mean as any other forbidden as many organizations as you I'm sure somebody has I'm sure I mean they might see no side work she's been the champion memorization and that UFC Strikeforce now Bellator so that's four different or is a strike I don't I don't know if she's every call she ever fought in Pride I don't think so and then I know she didn't fight in dream so those are two that I have over her but she's got titles baby she's you're quoting the most Activision of all time um she she's looking for people in her division yeah it's true it is I would like to see her fight at 35 I just know she can't make it but I would like to see her fly the 35 it just would make it be there'd be a lot more girls for her to fight but it would also diminish who she is she's as a savage man she's so good she's so strong and I actually you know had opportunity back in Strikeforce a system a commercial with her and the two of us were you know filming it for Showtime and we were just doing that like we were just supposed to be acting like playing in the ring and this chick was [ __ ] me up man she was and then her husband was the other cyborg at the time they're not married anymore but her her husband men was there watching so it wasn't like gonna get Maggie that [ __ ] would have beat my ass who's bad things like you know 200 something pounds back then and say amazed there'll be that but I mean he was big back then and she was she was probably barking the same way I was time like 170 but man she [ __ ] she was [ __ ] me up in the commercial I was at it said hey man this is just for fun all is good though we you know she's a she's definitely savages have you seen her a way quitting video as well when she like she was in the bath we went out online and she was like crying couldn't wait trying to make 135 pounds so like don't ever really happened again yeah I mean right now I would never thought I would say this my belt was got a better one for vision than he does and I don't think the UFC really had a introduced they started that weight class for her but I mean you have too many girls that just they just for putting weight on to have a chance to fight her that's all you know and so it wasn't fair you know with Julia Budd being here she is a legit walk around on a 45 pound fighter we've got a couple other girls too that we've just signed and then Mia McCourt as well yeah Elliott McCord Lea needs a couple more fights I think before she's ready for her but but but but that's there janae Hardy and she's there you know but he is gonna face I believe the next show they were supposed to fight in London I would have been a great fight those two match up very well they're both more lanky tall you know for the size I would like I would like to see that fight you know and we're gonna see it and obviously you know I'm gonna see because they were matched up so you know and the Kasinga knows did she sign with us so she's doing well you know she's gotta put a like she with her like she walks around maybe 44 48 so she doesn't have much to cut side works really walking around probably 66 68 somewhere in that would be interesting teen can tiresome do a cross-promotion fight with yeah is that she she they got a walk down over there you know I'm not I don't know how much longer the PFL is gonna be in business you know I mean they they are spending cash like it's and they've done this their holsters the promotion's existed they've done this mark you my poem on just no I don't believe so I'd heard something around it like his investors he had done business with we're also involved in that but I don't I don't think he's actually directly involved with it I mean I don't think he would have looked at the revenue that they were bringing in versus the revenue they're spending I mean I want to say outside of the million dollars that they're spending for the winner of the tournament they're still paying the fighters there personally and I believe Kayla Harris just signed a deal where she's making almost five hundred thousand dollars a fight she's got nobody in her weight class two fighters so why would she ever go anywhere and it says she's way out putting the coverage they're spending money it just doesn't make sense there's no reason for them to pay her that much she's got no one to fight I mean I mean I'm tipping my hat to her so I'm glad I'm happy she's getting paid but realistically she's you know she's not fighting she's not able to fight like Sarah Kaufman's probably her toughest fighting Sarah's small you know Sarah used to find 35 I once did she found a 25 also a couple times you know she's just small girl you know she's you know she's she's Biddle you know like is in she's a little thicker you know but she's she's not the size of the size of yeah no I'm saying no Josh well we're also going to get into your story anyway you put over Trudy professional fights how did you get into the fire sex I know I got done with college and I was thinking to myself man do I want to go work at 9:00 to 5:00 do I want to get a real job and no no not really so I just I started I just started I was I was already training for wrestling was wrestling to college and I was wrestling I played soccer also and so I was always in shape I always love being active every time I was honestly I just did our show when I did my show last week with John talked about John Joseph Big John McCarthy on my show we talked I basically said like John is going through what I went through when I was 18 19 years old if I wasn't training I was at the club like you know fighting you know getting smashed trying to pull chicks like I mean doing me wrong I'm not knocking on their sins that way and they'll sit differently that's their business I'm the judge trust me I'll know of the judge and um you know but it's uh I just I went through that at a younger age and it seems like he's still going through it now granted I didn't have the money that he has and making the money he's making it you know he's naked but yeah doggie I said those those are young kid mistakes those are young boy mistakes those are things that you wouldn't expect somebody to you wouldn't expect somebody to be making it 30 to 33 years old yeah he's also a father as well I don't see I don't want to be ruling in BO dad you don't mean yeah well yes yes yes yes oh yes so you you were younger you were there if you were doing wrestling then you move it but then what happened next so oh my god yeah so basically I got done with you know wrestling and I was still playing active like soccer even to this day I play soccer like indoor leagues and you know because I'm busy traveling too much there's too much of a commitment to that but ignore you just show up once a weekend just play with the safety we play it or we quit so but you know realistically like it helps keep me in shape and you know keeps me going you see active and stay busy but I got done with wrestling in high school or in college and playing soccer and I just was training all the time jiu-jitsu and and a lot of kickboxing and was having fun with it I think after about six months of training I took my first fight and and I lost you know I was dominating the kid for about eight minutes there was at one time in around about 80 and a half minutes and they just made a mistake through a head kick steps on the mat he took my back choke me with a inverted triangle he was I started to come and come out the back door and he caught me and over to try on yeah me just one of those things but then it kind of mode of me like motivated me to say hey man I have focus on this if I'm gonna do this and have fun with it and then my second fine I was able to make hundred fifty bucks and then my third fight I was able to make three hundred and then once all that happened I mean I've been I'd surely after had a couple more fights later that was up and I was living up in Idaho which is up like Canada and I am boy he's like no Northmoor about and so I was in Coeur d'Alene area like merciful candy is for coral AAA you know we're sam Cecilia and those guys are from yeah so yeah so yeah they were all up in there so they actually were like they weren't even around I was they were like they were still in the middle school maybe in elementary school with me I started training bad man it was me it was me Trevor Prangley Dennis Holman Benjy Radek the guys they were up there maybe should say it obviously was fighting you know all the small Cena back then man so I mean we all kind of were in that northwestern area that we just kind of help the sport grow Jen's Pulver was in Boise I'm supposed to fight Jen's probably my fourth or fifth fight ever in this small local show in Boise Idaho and cuz I'd already beaten all the other guys in Boise at the time and and they said hey man we got Jenn you know fight Jen's this all right perfect and then he got signed to the UFC like basically while we were negotiating for me to fight him the amount of money they saw him in New York see that kind of that kind of let me know like that was kind of the time where I thought to myself dude these guys and you're supposed to be fighting these guys are getting signed to the UFC like you're basically right there this isn't a big market like your your name is if people already must know your name if people are talking about match team gets Jen's people took from a match to you gets other guys you know I mean there was talk about me find Dennis Holman Dennis home and you know there's already basically was already signed with the UFC and then kinda I was getting some other fights on the ice outside it's got a remember back then that you see only had five to seven shows he even 54 shows a year like they do now they had five or seven shows and that was he's famous for the job scoffs no it wasn't me yeah like the defining moment of his career and [Music] sadly very sadly cuz you ever member I believe he's got to armbar wins over Matt Hughes yeah I know he's got one for sure alternate coffee a second one you know Stu and both of them I think we're like under like a minute a half or two minutes or something like that very impressive and they think you fade I think you rather to be known and beat might use than you would to wear a jockstrap into the ring but sometimes there are things go but famous for funny stuff I remember Sam Alvey God when they burned all the sponsorships got the tan sponsor on his chest I think he did yeah we had talked about that because you know remember back in the day they used to have the ink on the back for Golden Palace mmm Golden Palace Casino used to sponsor guys and they would write a number they even write that the ink all over their back it was like yeah yes I'm like that it was like something like that they would put that on they said paste so much money man it was like ridiculous debate they would pay more than what the fighters were actually making to fight crazy crazy I don't see your with UFC whether you fought upon a bit heaven for DuPont about actually how did what fight in Japan combat so I was so I was with the UFC at the time and then they they had got rid of the hundred fifty five so then I think yeah so I was like man and considering it's the best in the world I mean it's been they just got to think about all the guys that were there right there was being BJ Penn Matt Hughes din Thomas myself Sean Sherk with him like all these guys were there it's like and they got rid of the old famous yeah I mean these guys are all like legend in the sport and they were and they were like oh well let's just get rid of this division just didn't make any sense but they got rid of it anyways and they they offered me a deal they said hey you know you want to fight at 170 I was like absolutely not absolutely not if you guys if you guys would see like like the size of Matt Matt Hughes the size of Carlos Newton Pat Miletich those guys were enormous compared to me and so I just had no desire to do that and so I was like nah so I left wasn't with the UFC and then I start finding kickboxing for Scott Coker like on the side I was not making much you know it's a couple grand here and there which is basically what I was making the OC - believe it or not you know the UFC my first contract was like two and two four and four eight and eight it was like garbage money I mean I quit that's that's really what they paid you know they didn't pay [ __ ] back and that's when guys I remember that's my Jen's Pulver life could be Japan when they fought for the title you know sort of became part of you sort of became part of them what I call Scott Coker's California golden boys you mean you where else he won the main attractions and Strikeforce for Scott Coker else you have your trilogy against Gilbert Melendez but it's probably like the most renowned things frog course I ever done and then put like y'all have like Luke Rockhold Daniel Cormier on the open or back corner Lak like uh I think that sort of period when they were coming up and you were in there that was when people started to go cool destroyed four champions beat the UFC champions and it was it was legit like Strikeforce was an organization about you know when you look back it up it was a bit like with the WEC when the fighters actually merged over Theo see they had their own in the end zone Ronda Rousey she was created in in Strikeforce Ronda Rousey cyborg Tina Caronna Miesha Tate you know you had Marloes Coenen you had all these top girls as well as you got DC got remember came last his first fight as a strike force I'm in his fought in Strikeforce you know Michael Chandler fought Strikeforce you know all these guys fought at Strikeforce and then they just didn't have a desire to keep them at the time because they didn't have they weren't producing enough shows to have all these fighters on their roster so what they did was Scott pick and chose the people that he wanted the best in a nice town I happen to be well I happen to be one of them so I felt blessed and happy about that but you gotta remember with that type of responsibility comes comes a lot of pressure you got a Pokemon fights man this you got to remember Strikeforce was known for for having the most exciting fights we have fun fights the fans want to see that was like kind of their motto like you be had those and there was a lot of little even though there was only a handful guys the roster shot Garre was there you know what's it called the authority was there Diaz was there Nick Nick Diaz remembered it was in Strikeforce too he finds forth and the destroyed force Henry Crabtree was unbelievable Overeem phaidor big FV foot silver and the list goes on like it was it was like a ton of like it was it was Josh Barnett and Brett Rogers was really hard on ya like some serious headway to me oh yeah pretend praise heavyweight of all time yeah I mean you can put our argument from infirm you know I mean like in terms of it and turn the heavyweight they were incredible you and Gail a lightweight like even when he came over he didn't he did well light waves up no man yeah remember yeah his hold down on fault he's the one he's the one guy that I completely overlooked to my father and I mean I was able to escape out of there with a win but I gotta tell you man I got I walked out to the third round going to [ __ ] if I lose this take out I'm gonna lose this [ __ ] fight it was that's that he was being desperate normos he took a picture of him he waited 156 when we fought and he took a picture that night senator Scott Coker he weighed 191 and I was like this is this is insane the guy I'm like and I felt every bathtub every pound of that when he was on when he was on top of me I was like this is horrible man this is this kid is so big and he's got hands that are like enormous yeah I remember he beat Jim Miller remember when he fought yeah he had that never he won I look like Jim Miller's big broiler he won he won fight of the night and he won performance of the night or some like that and they remember he tested positive for the marijuana and they stripped him all of that money so he lost like almost 200 something thousand dollars in bonuses because he tested for marijuana and now they're talking about allowing marijuana as a recreational drug that poor guy man he just fought at the wrong time yeah he'll lose those likely was memos he's one of the coolest guys - man he's he's [ __ ] I trained with him out at BJ pens for a couple camps and BJ and I've you know good friends together back from BJ first got into the UFC and when I trained with him out there I mean he was no different mm-hmm I'd already fought him I'd already beat him but he just was that guy even in training I'm like man get your [ __ ] big ass off of me he was just so big yeah he just but he's a grinder he's one of those big guy he's hard to submit heavy on top not a bit not a great wrestler but just makes it awkward like kind of scramble he's long and lanky it's always hard to deal with I know Murray how the question he's dying to ask you about your Strikeforce career co-op marry yeah we're just speaking of events and I saw that you've fought in the Playboy Mansion is without a couple of times undefeated if I'm correct what I have first of all did you fight harder because they're in the Playboy Mansion and also what was it like fighting there as well it was it was definitely different I'll tell you that because you know the your outside outside in the backyard you know there's only maybe I think they were only allowed to sell less than that like 700 tickets or less than 1,000 I guess they were allowed to sell you have to be off the property but I want to say like midnight or 1:00 a.m. you can't be there any longer because it really is his house yeah it's there you know so you have to be off the property by a certain time you can't have the fights before like 3 o'clock or 4 o'clock so fighters showing up there at the venue at like 4:00 but so like the warm-up area was like out on his tennis courts so little things that you're not used to you know like they didn't really have mats for us to wrestle and grapple on it was you know you could really just hit mitts because you're on the tennis courts there was little things that you had to make adjustments to I wish I would have been able to go without having to fight though because you know I mean I was the I was the co-main event I was the main event on one and they come in and on the other I mean I didn't get done financial like almost 10:30 sorry by one as the shuttling Lin and they shouting you off you cannot drive there and drive back and you have to be a list or something real weird about it there so there was no it's like trying to get into the White House it was it was a lot seriously in the grotto no no there was but I'm saying the whole the whole night was a party that's why there was never a moment the bar was 24/7 like the whole thing was the bar was 24/7 there was models walking around 24/7 like people were people people were swimming in the in the grotto while we were fighting like literally 20 feet to the left so it was like a nightclub kind of setup where you know I oh look there's some fights going on over there in the corner so it would kind of kind of sucked that way but it was kind of cool though to like I remember I walked in for the second fight when I fought out of Lynn I walked in and that was the first thing first final in I walked in and I see I look down and and there's a few laughs he's just sitting right there at cage side and I give him a little nod I'm like hey you know he just nods back he's like good luck and it was those are moments do you remember you know did you spend a bit of time in a field the models outwards yeah you know at the time I had a girlfriend so she actually came with hanging out so we all you know there was a group of family and friends always wanted to go so they all paid for the tickets anyway because they were expensive oh and said the tickets were all like two to three grand apiece yeah there was no there was no discounts you know it really was a Showtime deal it was you know it was definitely for TV that was something that Scott Coker always wanted to do he's got a couple wild and crazy ideas that he really wants to put together for first for the fighters you know and I gotta tell you man I'm hoping he's able to get at least two or three of those things done you would believe some of the stuff that some of the fights were in locations that he wants to eventually put on it's always like his dream Playboy Mansion was one of his dreams he was able to make that happen so I think he's just gonna take some time but I he's got a lot of great ideas and is what's made it so easy for me to follow him from you know organization to organization so can you fill us in and anything that we could should be looking for especially because yeah at 11 years as well since Bellator was created as well yeah but it's Scotland been under the helm for I think I want to say five now you know so it's like you got a remember strike force we didn't start hitting our stride until about six years in you know so Scott's got another year and I think now too with the new link-up of the CBS and Showtime deal I don't know if we're gonna be I can't say anything on that because I don't I don't have the exact details on it but I can't imagine if we're gonna be a much longer we're gonna be on paramount or if we're gonna be on the zone or I don't know what's going on in that and those aspects but it would be nice to at least be featured on CBS for CBS every once in a while for some big mainstream fights so our fighters are getting the recognition they deserve and that's kind of what catapulted us when it was strike force remember you had the CBS mightst even though even though there was some fuck-ups on the CBS fights with the Diaz and mayhem Miller and Jake Shields all that stuff right even though that all that stuff happened it kind of ruined us for CBS but we were still on Showtime Showtime was still getting the recognition you know forever they at the time so we we had we had two platforms we had CBS and Showtime to be featured on that were showing our replays we're showing our fighters and so if we can get something like that going again I think realistically you'll start hearing seeing more of more of these other media sources talking about our athletes I gotta tell you man we've got we've got way better younger athletes that you have seen this there's no doubt about it I have no I have no doubt there are our younger fighters are better than the UFC fighters and I have no doubt that our current fighters can all match up really well with them if not beat them you know I mean obviously you I can make matchups anyway to the favor our guys you know but I can also make matches to the favor of the UFC guys it can also make it to where it's a full-on split fight you know I mean so like I would love to see the MVP and Stephen Thompson five said oh we actually wish you were met both there and fight Colin cork and we actually interview both in the one day that they actually both are there great respect for each other and that they'd actually you likee a dream of both there's two for each other and although I understand use here she's still worried about with them yeah of course they are I mean member though they may feel like they have a lot to lose but I remember them when they were pleading with pride to let one of their guys fight in their tournament member how about one of them yeah you know but that was that was Dana that was Dan enough saying like he was begging like he was on this each of our guys against them for sure he'd win and you know it checks one of my closest friends he's been one of my closest friends since 99 98 99 you know and like that was that was Dana was was Scott's not begging for a fight but like he's just simply saying like hey if you want to cross remote let's go buddy you don't need to get it done you know but Dana no one listen you know you don't want other smoke dude you don't want it you know and that's kind of how it all goes down like if you can't if you he feels like he has nothing to gain by doing it and maybe right now he doesn't but I think when the guys start getting more exposure on CBS and Showtime and in paramount and disown if we got four platforms to play your fighters on I can't imagine I mean I just can't imagine them not you know people not giving them the recognition they deserve patricio as well there's no doubt in my mind I don't know if you guys saw but there was a error saying it works with huto and yeah top guys right he he publicly like annihilated the press you know and it's just like talking trash they're loud patricio is the best guy basically best guy in the world you know when people don't leave people will look back at his old fights back in the day where he was just standing in front of people and just you know and just let's cheer let's trade he still does that a little bit cuz that's that's who he is a provider but it's a lot he's a lot smarter hmm his style his style has changed he doesn't just stand in front and just like sit there and bang with you he's got that wider I would say almost like a like a Taekwondo I don't like a Conor McGregor type of dance he's got that Henry cejudo has it as well because the two of them train together you know and if you when you hear Henry say how good he is don't let you know how good it is you know like the same look and if you saw what want to let her wrestle at Purdue other other top guys have tried to like take him down he's next-level his wrestling is now next level after working with guys like Henry for so many years and he's vastly underestimated I just think he's drastically underrated and underestimated every single time someone wants to talk about him how did you think him verse and Pedro plays a three happened row on the podcast he's extraordinary thoughtful at the boat yeah I mean I think I think he I think he does have a good chance submission wise he's good but look you got to get him down and I think if you're gonna stand with him I don't think you can I don't think gotta leave Pedro can stand with him think about this I mean Michael Chandler starts his guys you know and he got starts by Patricio it's like and I don't know I just feel there's a lot of there's a lot of things that people don't seem to understand for for such small big things come in small packages you know that guy he can crack he can crack he can [ __ ] crack sometimes you'll be a day in the final against Ken AJ get past Darian Caldwell yeah well no fair I was very impressed with Caldwell against Barch and I was like I was like that was performance and a half especially considering Caldwell this was fine dad 135 to come off again like very impressive I almost think it's like a younger hungrier bigger version of call about I think he's got slightly better straighten yeah yeah he's got he's got better striking but he's a lot more wild with it stop can he stop Derek called wills wrestling no I don't think he can he can out strike him but Kenny stay out from smack the other thing as well as we saw in its last bite which I thought he'd bought kept very carelessly against Campos what he thought yeah caris Lee you in the third round in the third round he got tired you know and he was exhausted so after that after that happened I mean like and darienne's not been known for his condition ear cardio as well into the third quarter fifth round but I will say this he has now had more time to put the weight on naturally like his in to build a little bit of muscle now with this this was such an easy win over Adam Moritz no damage to his body he is ready he's he's just getting stronger every day he's training with bigger guys he's getting the fills and the likes of someone like agent McKee with the speed and iPod he's training with those kind of guys he's just he he's a smart guy man he's a smart guy he just I think he he needs to groom himself to be ready for that weight class now because he was always weighed down he was always trying to keep his weight down so he could go to 135 they just can't do that you know so now he doesn't have to do that now he his body can naturally learn how to carry this weight and that said that means a lot people understand how much that means it's hard to learn for your body to carry that about a weight every single today in training and then as well as on the fight so I have this thing we're like I always walk around 169 170 I always have even now right now probably once that be - you do know old fat and retired you know and I just stuck my face all the eggs were in quarantine like legit I've only walk around like 172 maybe some of the muscle turned to fat and so now I don't look the same but I still weigh the same but I never fought I never fought in the weight class um higher than I competed so you know how some guys like you know like Pat Healy when he cut 255 to fight me and then we'll need 190 that night I feel like that potentially lost him the fight he probably walks around 80 maybe 82 83 but by the time he got in the cage he was already eight pounds over what he's used to training that you're carrying another 8 pounds of weight on your body but your body's not used to carrying so I always walked there I was trained at 168 169 170 somewhere in there and anything I was the week before I started cutting with the fight I made sure I didn't put any weight on above that because my body didn't know how to carry that weight you know and you never you never trained or you never you can never train as hard as you're gonna fight in that cage and so you're carrying an extra 1 or 2 pounds I mean you guys gonna remember if you're holding up like dumbbells right one pound dumbbells can you do that for 15 minutes probably not no probably not no problem so you know if that's the case now try to add that on your body another in a powder too like every pound over what you're normally used to carrying around is it works against you so I feel like Darren doesn't have to go through that anymore so I think we saw a good Darren Caldwell guy puts guys away and a divorce had never lost anything any fight I think I think he's gonna come back even stronger he's he's a good-looking young kid I want to say he's only like 23 24 yeah and all the buzz about him is legit guys all from Henry hooks gym where he trains they're like dude he's so [ __ ] good like people don't get how damn good he was you know it obviously didn't show against era cola but they're like dude he's phenomenal like it doesn't even make it he's gonna they have all said he's gonna be champion another thing about Bellator people have been talking about the European series that's been happening over here first of all it's been amazing for our fans as well well damn there's been talk about maybe doing making European titles like rather than World titles like so a European title and then world calls like separate because people feel like sometimes Florida's in the European series are fighting people but it doesn't seem to be like progressing them any further what you think the the possibility of making European titles yeah I think look what we're doing right now I believe this is what I believe it's not what I've heard from anybody else I think right now we're trying to see where the cream rises to the top and then we'll start bringing those guys to fight the top guys that are in Bellator right now you know that's what we're trying to do that's why you've seen certain guys go over but Ricky went over and he's gonna end up going back over a five Peter really you know you would over to fight Ryan ESCO you know primitive chrimbus went over there fought wild and then just fought again recently like you have these fights right here you're having the matchup against European guys see where the cream is you want to see which guys rise to the top and then I don't think there's any reason to start a European title either the champion or not there's no reason to do that you know the other thing too is if you know your pay is not going to go up because you're the European champion it doesn't make any sense and possibly possibly maybe later on down the road but I think right now we're just trying to see who the best athletes are that we have signed remember that that were made a huge push in the end and the push in the Europe is just simply the fact that we signed all the guys from Bama I think goes BAM I'm on your side we've got more something besides my sign that we sign that whole roster when we send that whole roster you know we brought a lot of guys over that we were not familiar with you know myself I had to look up a lot of these guys though okay Lucas I've heard of this guy but I've never seen him fight so right now we're trying to see which guys will rise to the top amongst the European guys and then once we see that we'll start integrating the guys that are coming over you know to mix them in and I think it's best though to for the u.s. guys to start fighting the guys in on your solo I think it's only fair you know you gotta make adjustments you can't just always bring the Europe guys to the UK to the US they expect them to perform well you gotta let them sometimes have hometown fights I love that they're doing that man I think I think you gotta bring it you know you've got to firsthand the guy's [ __ ] phenomenal but he doesn't have the MMA experience and yeah he had to slow roll guys didn't want to fight him and got you know and any pills my head in awesomes as well yeah he's losses though his first loss was because he fought I was outside of his weight class got nobody else to fight it but it said you know his other losses have just been cuz he invites more and that's the lack of experience yeah yeah he has been his last his last two fights but he fought he fought brilliantly is last two fights um you know he's he's getting better every time he's with Greg Jackson now great yesterday Jackson is someone who's been known to put on put together a great game plan he does a wonderful job so I think that's exactly what he needs the other thing is well he's he has some issues like his dad was very involved in in his in his career and I think sometimes you you have to tell your family to kind of like hey you gotta step out a little bit let me run this myself and and I think we've seen that I think we see a little bit of that too so you parents not only parents but a lot of parents they want and just like a fighter baby think they deserve more they want their kid to have the best and that's that's part of being a parent I think every parent thinks that way like my son and my daughter deserves this you know they deserve one more they should be they should be this they should be that but when you start doing that especially in a sport like this where they're paying a lot of money you've got to remember when the more you get paid well the heart of the competition is sure so if you're if you're relatively new in the sport you got it down on the back man and slow roll it there at 22 years old like with James Callender 20 to 23 years old there's no rush he had he won't even hit his prime until 27 28 29 somewhere in there your prime honestly I feel for MMA is 27 to 32 you hit that man's strength you finally are starting to take it serious you probably realize what the money's like now you're enjoying life but those are all things that come along with it and the maturity of I think John don't skip that part but you know other guys have the opportunity to do that so yeah you got a look yeah you have unlikely James there's no rush man but that time with him this because once you start fighting for that title you can't go backwards my face of LaLanne I just couldn't get him down and those guys in you know you didn't want no weird me on the feet with him every time I trusted a psychic here the body [ __ ] smack kick me and he wanted like I'd be given moments there where if you wanted to in training [ __ ] you know and I'm a world I'm considered one of the best light weights ever in this guy fights on Langley Division two you know couldn't get his MMA career to go because he was may in the kickboxing but I'm saying like I couldn't get him down you know and so when you're fighting guys like that they make you look if getting back up to his feet against Abby and he also has some success with the wrist control he had a hard time beating that leg lace which a lot of people do but he had the success from that from the the fight before that the whole fight he fought him better than anybody else had ever fought him I think Ram Warren was around pre-and McGregor was very good in milligrams he was variable to start in
