[Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] everyone welcome uh I are fighting championship um this man no stranger to the camera no stranger to the fight game Mr Patty hulham uh first of all thank you very much for your time um I I appreciate you uh helping little guy out here thank you so much um I'm all about the little guy good job excellent um so um let's talk about this this event um this probably one of the most well put together events in the country at the moment yes Ohi does an incredible job here he really does um he very professional from the start the matches are very close um on time as well which is so important H because Fighters are nervous upstairs it's nice to be able to say listen 6:00 this is done so let's get it done there you know with the idea of sometimes the dragon on and all can have a negative effect on for so withi does an incredible job here he really goes and and the island needs it absolutely and especially like for the Pros you know um if they have to worry about uh warming up cooling down warming up again um that's that's that could really take a toll on their overall performance absolutely um so yes uh my my biggest uh the the thing I love the most about this event is it's Clockwork it it really is it starts on time everything's boom boom boom it just it exactly um so just like what how do you feel about the overall importance of events like this in Ireland for like like kind of like these Regional events for people to get their experience oh so important like we are a fighting nation and uh we're kind of at football we're very good at fighting good at rugby we're all at rugby yeah we are good at rugby I suppose yeah to be honest I don't really watch more any them Sports I think it's kind of like bread and circus to be honest but but I love F because it h there's a great spirit in it and it grows people's spirit and soul no matter how far you take it whether you're doing a little Jiu-Jitsu competition down the road um I I had that man on the back or that woman on the back as as much as I do the person who's fighting in the UFC you know cuz H the body doesn't know the difference the body knows thingss like think something bad's going to happen today and to be able to come through that H we don't have enough of that in the world anymore so putting ourselves creating this um like uncomfortable feelings on purpose to benefit ourselves so any man or woman I Pat them on the back that that yes I I think that's thing or that's something that kind of society in general could benefit from is doing something uncomfortable you get there getting uncomfortable and uncomfortable situations you yes find yourself comfortable and uncomfortable I think the kind of the mainstream wants to kind of push um you know everyone should be you know feel happy and you know whatever but like that's not life and um you know very easy to control that type of person then that was very easy to manipulate that type of person and and the worst thing of all is is put Fair into that type of person H you're um the cave that holds the the treasure is the one that you fear the most so you need to run towards that we don't going to live once in this time like and H this is a great thing I've been thinking about lately uh we think about the body everyone does no matter what scripture you follow people follow whether it's Islam Catholicism or anything we agree that the body goes one place but the discussion is around the soul so a lot of people maybe the greatest trick that devil ever pulled was um was making us concentrate on the body and not the soul so fighting build your soul whether you like it or not absolutely you have to um are there any kind of like mental health benefits that you personally find from training like there anything specific yeah I st I stay tip away you know what I mean um it was always the reason why I went towards the sport was to to better my life and and then then I was good at it so sometimes you can shock yourself and that's so important to realize that you have the ability to shock yourself H so I say to anybody go to your local Jiu-Jitsu Club um make sure it's reputable in the idea of that it's welcoming beginners and and that the level is good and the idea is that the coaches know him to welcome beginners um because then it takes care of itself you get to a certain level I think if someone becomes a PO belt they're probably going to be a black belt um but they have to have that good EOS that that give back not that um I call it Gollum syndrome only to go don't you know you you've got to give back to your Club you've got to give back it's a two-way street after a while um I think that the the teenage M Ninja Turtles eme do you ever see this where the coach is leading the turtles and then they go and the turtles are leading the coach this is a um great saying we have as well in a sport where the young eat the old it's important to teach the young how to chew properly so the old gu the older guy isn't getting chewed up in the corner and and he able might be a firan or or who knows they got to go home you know what I mean so uh it's the only spot where high level pro-athletes and and and four state beginners with people who are training 20 years can be on the same M get um and not get their ass whooped you know unless the guy makes the decision to whoop his ass um what would you uh someone who's maybe just you know considering it but maybe they're a bit nervous to take that kind of that step into the gym how how would you kind of convince them to do it and what I always say to anybody who TS up at hulahan martial arts is um the first day there's only one of them then the rest of them are just the next day yeah so the first day is probably the scariest because anything that change or anything you're going to walk into a strange situation your your budd's going to be like no go back in the cave go back to the bedroom it's safe there you know and then as I said you're easily controlled manipulated and and and fear can be used against you then you know when you go through the doors even go to watch the first time do half a class do do it a full class then then maybe one class a week two classes trip feed it wherever it takes you step by step Brick by Brick day by day and keep going you know don't think too high some guys come in soon like they they love us so much and maybe a little bit of ADHD or whatever it is and it's like I'm obsessed with this and make chill take a time take your time you know H cuz what happens is someone ends up getting H they go hard for 6 months and then their body just not ready for that that load or that movement and so take your time consider you're going to do it for the rest of your life rather and just you know slow take your time excellent all right uh back to the fights here you had two you two uh fighters tonight yeah um what is it like for you as a coach to kind of like to to bring them up there it's got to be exciting um to you know be their coach and then you are you well I know you're as excited as they are because I I sat next to you there next to the cage um but like you know how what are you feeling you know do you have any do you feel any kind of pressure to perform for your for your athletes or no what I've been doing this a long long time um even just a reminder today of been long enough being doing it h Dylan toque the nuke toque I don't know you said tagged me in a post today 11 years ago he was he was fighting his amateur fight basically against one of the UB Brady at the time which was a h I think ady I think his name is he's really good anyway I don't remember even being nervous at that time for it so if you're not a little bit nervous maybe you don't care enough you know nerves bring sharpness as well so um it can be very simple game if people can listen and practice and do the repetition but fortunately that can be a little bit boring and then you have this technology portal in your pocket that then makes it like oh I want to do that move it's very hard to do that when the lights come on and stuff like that so what I would say to anybody my my things is go out and perform forget about winning forget about losing and focus on performance because H when you go into the lights the fight or fase kicks in and it can be very hard basically to to perform especially when you've you've got this super move you want to pull off it's very hard it be like I don't know play a computer game it's a big long combination or you could just chb chb ch ch ch and that's a great it's a great game plan you know so uh don't complicate so it my guys go Keen t for Keen has had so many fights and they haven't gone his way but he's always been f uphill he's in this kind of like weight bracket where he's maybe a little bit too heavy he should be fighting at 66 and and I've had this nod with him again okay we're doing 66 okay Coach um and then jordo you see so Jordan white um fantastic fight fantastic fight you know and a good guy as well so uh but that fight was left hand sell the left hand sell the left hand sell it when you see the the fake come up with the high kick that was from the start he got it in the last round and then it walked so which was beautiful Defender taked down vicious taked down at the start go go go Defender and we have a yor groat after this so and yor this he wins this fight he's 4 and0 all four round finishes this man is a is a Phenom you can go all the way really can um and thanks to Becky for for making this happen you know he's got a good opponent here today's a Kieran Brady and in his own backyard but uh Y is a m Dublin headed you know what I mean mixed with M mov and Dublin so it's a it's it's a dangerous mix and the most important thing he's an incredible guy you know awesome awesome look uh sir appreciate your time thank you very much for uh you having this conversation with me um until next time and then hopefully I'll see you in the gym soon apprciate thank [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] a
