Okay, so I'm here with another Clan Wars competitor. I've got Caesar Korea out of Caesar Korea out of MMA. He's going to be fighting this weekend on Clan Wars. Uh it's a fantastic fight with himself and Nathan. Um something I'm looking forward to. I'm looking forward to the whole card, but this is one of the fights as well that I'm I'm looking forward to. I'm It's very close to the fight day. So, how are you? Thank you very much for joining me. How is fight week treating your season? >> Fight week's been great. I've been um relaxed. I haven't done much all week. I done a bit of pause there on Tuesday if I'm not wrong. The weight's on the weight spot on. Um bit of a weight cut to do tomorrow morning and then I'm ready to rock like get the weigh in done. get the hard bit done and then compete and have fun. >> And and like with five week I always ask this question because I want to see I want to know what makes people tick and what makes it how they manage stuff from going from 100 miles an hour so training camp training boom and then fight week you have to that taper off. Is it hard to disconnect from going as like training as hard as you can to having to kind of relax focus on a weight cut and focus on kind of the week ahead. How hard is that to stop or is it something you've managed better over time as you've experienced it? >> No. And I can fight we itching, you know, I sort of like I find myself kind of shadow fighting and stuff and then I have to tell myself, you know, that's enough, you know, just save your energy. It is I feel kind of lost in fight week because I don't go to gym. I was only in the gym like Tuesday. I think I don't be going to the gym and train and like as I normally do every day. So I'm kind of lost but I'm just focus on my weight and everything is just the world's done by this stage you know you just have to make weight and quite terrified and and how's the weight cut treating you cuz a lot of people have big because a lot of have little have over time have what's the what you've obviously found a way to manage the weight cut quite successfully I know obviously there's going to be it's not nice no matter how good you have it but how are you finding the wake up cut for this fight >> I'm actually feeling great I was I was in the gym on Tuesday and saying, you know, I'm feeling energized. You know, I'm not be supposed to be feeling energized, but my weight's on schedule. I'm like I don't cut much. I haven't caught a lot like and uh like I don't have to do it tonight, you know, before the weigh in. I just have to do it in the day of weighing in, you know, in the morning. And that's pretty much it. Of course, I'll do a bit of fasting here tonight till I get the weigh in done tomorrow. But that's about it. Like, you know, my weight's good. I'm feeling good. I'm feeling bad. I think I'm feeling too good if you get me. You know, I'm not drained or anything. So, it's all good. >> It's like one of those things. It's like it's feeling too good to be true sort of a kind of feeling. But just >> if it's feeling good, just go with the feeling good. But you've got Nate obviously this this weekend on Clan Wars. Um do you do much of the research into your opponents? Have you looked at Nathan? Because obviously just from hearing about Nathan around the scene, you kind of know where his his abilities lie. He's very good on the ground. Uh he obviously does have that but his most dangerous part for me from what I've seen is on the ground. Would you look into him much would you let Jerry and and others do it or what way does that work approaching an opponent? >> Well Jerry comes up with a game plan and we go from there. I watched a bit of him. I've actually watched him fight twice I think two or three times and I watched his last fight as well and Jury of course Jury gets takes a look at him and then he comes up with a game plan and we just have to follow the game plan. We all know like he's he's a brilliant grappler. He's a good grappler. I know that five starts he's going to try and take me down from the from the moment that five stars are going to try and take me down. I don't think he's going to stand on me and I'm just going to have to stick to game plan and standing by. That's pretty much it. >> Yeah, >> I respect him. I know I know how good he is. He's the top ref, but I I believe good enough to stand there any order. >> Yeah. your last performance was and I asked you before we actually came on I say have you done something different with your boxing and it wasn't saying that you weren't good before but it looked it looked a lot more precise and a lot more slick in your last couple of fights the the Owen Guerell fight was for me Paul Brown and I think Phil Campbell said at the time it was probably one of the fights it was definitely fight of the night and potentially one of the fights of the year uh that was such a good performance then your next one do you feel yourself leveling up every time it so no sorry I'm going to rephrase this question when you're obviously you're getting better and better each fight and you can see it like through the screen when you're watching or in person. Do you feel those improvements in training or is it really when you get to test it in a live competition or in a fight, let's say, that you actually see the improvements? Cuz obviously in training, you're not going to go full whack because you don't want to hurt each other. But do you notice them in training or was it when when it comes to fight night that you see how far you've come from your last fight? like n you know in training you feel it in training you know when you're sparring and when you're drilling and stuff and when you're hitting pads I like I don't think I've ever I'm I've ever been as as sharp as I'm at the minute you know I'm just um I've took a lot of time to focus on my my striking especially boxing um and I can see the improvement the improvement I just keep improving every time every time like I don't take big times out whenever after a fight I'm straight back in the gym the week after so fighting sorry back in the gym Tuesday, Wednesday the latest, Wednesday the latest. And um like I just see myself improving every every week, week in week out and getting batter and batter. And um like we've got a good team. We're not a big team. Got a good team there, you know, and we're all consistent. So that that good thing we have going on there in the gym at the minute. >> Consistency is key. Someone once said to me, it's not who's the best, it's who's left. who stays to the plan, who sticks to the plan, who sticks to training, >> and then they will ultimately improve and they will be the best. A lot of people come in and they think >> think they can train here and they can train there. But when there's boys like you training two two times a day or or however many times training like professional, that that's what you need to be doing. Obviously, you're doing it there. You're talking about your team. Obviously, Damian recently fought a cage whereas unfortunately he lost, but he lost to someone very good in Kiko. And I commend the two of them for fighting each other cuz a lot of Irish kind of not that they'll want to fight each other but like that had the kind of biggest pop of the night. It was a big night for both like unfortunately lost but when you see Damian get onto a platform like Cage Wires. What's that like for you as a fighter coming through the regional scene and going well he's I'm going through the same promotions and stuff that he did like are you looking at him going he's leading the way for all my MMA for ye to get to the this stage? >> Yeah. Yeah. 100%. Like we all look up to demon in the gym like you know and demon's corner me and sorry you know like demon's there every day and we're training every day and he knows me better than anybody else and Jerry know me better than anybody else in there and um like I'm having my corner all day. He like Deian he didn't perform. He didn't get on too well but we all know what he does in the gym and we we didn't get to see him performing but hopefully he'll be back in there again performing. But I look like I just I'm grateful to have Jamie in the gym because like I'm getting to train with one of the best in the game, you know, in Ireland. So it's great like that's how you see an improvement, you know, because the guys we have in the gym, Damian and um Morgan Morgan Clements, we haven't seen much of him yet, like you know, competing, but he's the next. Um we got a lot of guys, David there. David's coming on good as well. that you had a great performance the last fight and like we're going out there. We're just getting battered every week, week in week out. >> Yeah, know Morgan Clemens is someone I'm quite interested in and like to keep an eye on as well because obviously Cameron I was introduced to Cameron when I came in and then he would tell me about his I've seen him fight Davyy on versus I think it was the first one and he's someone I want to watch progress and I've watched you progress to this stage and obviously you're not looking past your opponents. You've had like like I said even though he lost to own that was a great performance a really good performance this time last time this obviously whatever happens this weekend will happen this weekend. Are you looking to to have another fight this yet this year or will that be the end of it for you and just kind of enjoy Christmas? >> No definitely not. I'll have an all if I can squeeze through and I'll have a lot to um but I've told Jerry, you know, I'm planning maybe going or you know, one of them promotions. Um like like as as I said, you know, if I get a good match up with somebody who can get me going, you know, I will definitely go again this year, maybe twice. But um I'm not looking past Nathan Chambers in any way. Like, you know, I know how good he is. I know what he's best at, but I'm fully focused myself. I'm out there on my game plan and perform as per usual. And win or lose, perform. Of course, I'm going to I'm looking in there. Going in there to win. Great. I get the hand raised, but I'm I'm performing no matter what. I don't want to have a boring fight. I want to go out there and perform for everybody's coming out there to watch me. >> No. And I like your thinking. You're not thinking past Nate. You're think because your next your next fight is always your most important fight. And sometimes >> that's fighters especially amateur can get carried away going oh well if I win here I might get this or I might get that. You're going well I have to beat him first before that comes. So that's the be all and end all this weekend. But um it's going to be a really good show. Clan Wars always put on a great production. I love the the just the the past couple of shows of production has been excellent cuz I think they've got someone new on board but it just looks so so slick. I won't be there. I'll be watching on pay-per-view though. I can't wait to see this fight. Like I said, I'm so interested. But I'm gonna let you go because I know obviously these fight weeks there's a lot going on. Is there anything you want to say before you go or anyone want to shout out and again, thank you so much for your time, especially this close to the fight. I was just want to think to everybody that been supporting me and know coming up to watch me and all my teammates in in in the gym, you know, that has helped me get to where I am at the minute, helped me improve as a fighter. And it's pretty much it. Thanks Clown Worth for having us competing again on Saturday and thank you for having me on your your show again. That's pretty much it. >> Yeah. No, I was thinking I was looking through the card. I was like, we need a chat. We haven't had a chat in a while. And it was hard to try and that's when I sent the message. I was like, I know it's really late. A lot of stuff went on to start the week. We won't get into that. And then I said, look, if I can get him on today, that'll be good for me cuz it's like I don't know how long it's been. It's been a long time. I want to say >> a year and a half. Yeah. Yeah. >> It was a year and a half. I thought it was maybe two. >> Oh, maybe coming up two years. You might be right. Hey, you might be right. Yeah. >> So, yeah, it's a pleasure. Mark Jord, >> I think >> that's Jordan. >> Yeah, cuz that's I think I was trying to think, but because I've lost my old actual fans page, I can't go back and see because that's gone forever now. Look, >> it is what it is. Thank you once again. Best of skill this weekend and uh I look forward to seeing you perform again. Thank you very much, David, and all the best. >> Thank you. >> Hope to get back on the show again. >> No, 100% you will. We'll have a talk after the fight anyways. >> No problem. Thank you.
