Here with Kenny Mukwana, K-Drowers 2-10 Dublin, what a win and what a performance against the former champion.
100% yeah, what an opportunity to fight the former champion in my hometown, obviously me and Solomon, we know each other many years, over 10 years on the same circuit, fighting on the same showers, fighting each other as teammates, but for whatever reason, we never cross past something now.
Obviously on the Irish scene like obviously cage-wires coming here so regularly in the Dublin
It's the biggest stage to make a statement against there and Irish fighter like Solomon. And
Yeah, so Phillip have a bit of hometown bragging rights here. It's like a derby, you know what I mean?
But yeah, I'm happy with it. Yeah, and how good was that crowd? It's packed out in the idea sold out show
Yeah, I could hear them. I could hear the crowd in patches, but me I'm just obviously
respect to Solomon. I just didn't really pay attention to anything really other than my corner. I tried to kind of drown out the noise and get the job done.
And what was your reaction when that fight came through when you got the call off Ian Dean? What was your first reaction?
I was like, Solomon's not going to take this fight. I was like, that was a tough fight. Even me, I'm thinking, do I want to take that?
And I see these are fucking wackin' toilet reels again,
so it's a bit like, I guess I had it a little bit.
I'm like, you know what I mean?
Like, I know Solomon well, but I'm like,
I'm looking at these toilet reels and I'm like,
yay, I have to fight that, you know what I mean?
But yeah, I have to, I go back to the gym
and I'm spending the best people in the world,
obviously, SVG Ireland, my coaches,
sorry, John and Dave, some of the best coaches
in the world and yeah, like the team I have,
Pedro Cavallo, Conor McGregor, fucking obviously,
Nahon Weddy, and all the other boys, fucking Roger,
fucking the YOFC champion, Nikolay are going for days,
like just over 50 for years on the professional team,
so we're like, what, like I'm happy to.
