A moment in Irish MMA history 

During a moment in our recent history in COVID times, a time of uncertainty, shows being cancelled all over the place it gave birth to a moment in Irish MMA history the first ever outdoor event in Fall's park for the Feile festival in Belfast, I literally arrived on the scene the month after this show and used it to research and look into the regional fighters.

This show was historic and hosted 30 fights across the day with some impressive stats to go with it 

-30 bouts

- Full professional main card 

- Three professional debuts 

- Two professional titles 

- Fourteen amateur debuts 

- Two amateur titles 

- Two sets of siblings competing (McCormac's & Luke's)

- Six KO/TKO finishes 

- Seven submissions

I reached out to Liam with a few questions 

Hi Liam/Pat a few questions if you could answer about cage conflict IV

1. Where did the idea to host a show in falls come from?

I grew up watching the feile
develop into a massive festival and
when they approached me I was
excited to give it a try. Especially
outside as it was the end of Covid
and inside gatherings were still
banned
I felt we needed to
Lead from the front and get the
mma scene in Ireland active and
positive again

2. What difficulties did you face trying to set it up?

We had to test all fighters
coaches and audience for covid
and had to work with council to
open a covid testing facility facing
the falls park

3. How did you feel when it was fight day and you were literally creating Irish MMA history? 

Lots of stress as the logistics were
very testing
We had to hire out an entire leisure
centre and employ personal
transfers to get the fighters/
coaches to and from the venue
But there were moments when I 
looked out into the crowd thinking we
are creating history

4. Although the whole show was historic is there any moment that stands out to you the most?
